Book Description
Since Jacob's disappearance, Stacey has been trying to move on with her life. With a full scholarship, she begins classes at Beacon University, which her best friend Amber is also attending. But Stacey still misses Jacob and can't quite accept that she'll never see him again.
The president of Beacon introduces Stacey to his fourteen-year-old daughter Portia, who is struggling with her own nightmares that foretell murder. The two become friends as Stacey helps the young girl cope with her frightening premonitions. They work together to find the boy in Portia's dreams - locating him in a cult-like community. Despite their innocent goal to live peacefully without technology and material goods, there's a dark side to this community. And one of the members, Shell, looks remarkably like someone Stacey used to know . . .

Not so good...........2007-05-10
This series is amazing. The first three books were all page turners. I couldn't put them down until I was finished. However, this book is sadly lacking the caliber the other books in the series possessed. The ending was predictable from the beginning, and the outcome was bittersweet.
Some people believe that after Silver is for Secrets, the series should have been over. However, the author didn't really finish the series there. An ending to Stacey Brown's story was required. The attempt to close all the doors left open, though, was unenjoyable. I give the series, overall, a 4 star rating, but this last book is definately not on the same level as the rest.
Red is for Remembrance.......2007-01-16
My teen aged daughter enjoys this book. I bought her the entire series for Christmas 06. She has enjoyed reading this book over and over. Apparently, these are the type of books that young teens are unable to put down until they complete the entire text. I find it inspiring that she has found a series that entices her to read that often. I was also impressed at the length of time it took to receive the product. The only drawback is that it had the title on the exterior of the envelop. Difficult for gift giving if she gets the mail.
the best.......2006-08-06
hi I am 12 yrs. old, i have read the three books before this one. and i love them all. i think that silver is for secrets was so sad i have read them all 3 time each. i kinda wish theree was a 5th one even thouhg i noe there wont be
Left me Speechless.......2006-07-27
These books are amazing.... All of them. Red is for Remembrance left me happy, sad, thankful... What an amazing author. She brought me into Stacey Brown's life and now I feel like I have to continue living it. I hope one day I'll be as good of an author as she is. This series left me speechless.
a great end to a great series.......2006-07-13
Okay so Stacy is dreaming again, only this time no bodily fluids (anyone else disappointed?). In her dream a girl is telling her to help or "he will die." Convinced this will bring her to Jacob, she agrees to help the president at her school whose daughter is having nightmares and is on the brink of being institutionalized.
At the same time a guy named Shell is at a campground in the middle of nowhere with no memory of his past or anything other than the camp. The camp works much like a cult, the leader is all powerful, they are shut out of the outside world and forced to "love" other members. He knows there's something else out there, or should I say someONE else, but he just cant remember.
All of our favorite charactors are back: Amber, Drea, PJ, and Chad, along with some fun new charactors, my favorite being Janie the Christian roomate who is against witchcraft but not sex outside of marriage.

gotta like red.......2006-07-29
Ed Levine's first (maybe only: I don't know) book is a winner. If you are a fan of the Adirondacks you'll most likely enjoy it. If you long for times when people still fought the system you'll love it. And if you have ever run miles to evade the law you will understand it better than I do.
Levine's book is a quick read but is packed with photos and attitude and lots of comments from the protagonist which can only be described correctly as "Adirondack-y"... if that means something to you, you will probably love this book.
Book Description
Just as "The Babysitter's Club" series successfully captured a generation of young girls, Cyndy Salzmann's Friday Afternoon Club series lays claim to moms who cherish long-standing friendship . . . and a bit of mystery. While juggling the responsibilities of carpool, laundry, and ballet lessons, this group of close friends find time to act as sleuths, unraveling mysteries and gaining spiritual truths along the way. Readers will readily identify with these richly drawn characters caught in the chaos of raising a family, maintaining friendships, and sorting out the items of intrigue that draw them in.
Customer Reviews:
First in the Friday Afternoon Club series.......2007-06-15
The Friday Afternoon Club is a group of women who get together for some R&R from their busy lives. Liz is a stay-at-home mom who is in the club. She also writes a newspaper column.
One of their members doesn't come to meetings for a few weeks, so they seek her out to discover the problem. Lucy is recovering from the deaths of her husband and mother in the past year and has gone into depression. Her aunt recently left her a Civil War style home in a nearby town.
The club decides to have a get-away weekend to decorate and restore the home. Lucy isn't too sure at first.
Once there, they have some startling discoveries including a diary.
This is a very good book, but it is not your normal mystery with a death to be investigated. Once you understand that, you can relax and really enjoy the camaraderie of the club and how they rally around Lucy to help her out of her depression. This is a great book and I recommend it!
Dying to Decorate.......2007-05-19
This series is a good read. It's considered Christian lit. but it's not too churchy. I really enjoyed it!
A satisfying serving by Cyndy Salzmann.......2006-10-25
Dying to Decorate by author Cyndy Salzmann, is the first in the Friday Afternoon Club Series. The narrator of the story is a woman named Liz, a stay-at-home mom who writes a newspaper column (think Martha Stewart meets Flylady). The friends in the Friday Afternoon Club, or FAC, get together weekly to get a little R&R from their all-too busy lives. They support each other with fierce devotion, and when one of the members goes AWOL from the club for a few weeks, they go on a rescue mission. The group learns that their friend Lucy, recovering from the deaths in the past year of both her husband and her mother, has slid into a depression. She has also recently inherited an old Civil War style home from an elderly aunt, and the FAC thinks it will be the perfect diversion to nudge Lucy away from her slump. The group determines to have a decorating party/get-away weekend to help restore the lovely old house. Startling discoveries and a secret diary found hidden in the house from Civil War times raise serious questions about the history of Lucy's past relatives. With help from the diary and Lucy's Aunt Bette, the group learns about true strength of character and sacrificial heroism that begins at home.
While the novel isn't a `mystery' in the classic sense, it has great sense of suspense as the story unfolds. Add to that a wonderfully refreshing humor intertwined in a very satisfying story. If that isn't enough, the book includes many wonderful recipes that tie into each chapter. To a book-loving foodie, it's the ultimate in reading. With recipes like Melt-In-Your-Mouth Pot Roast, I'm So Sorry Snickerdoodles, and Liz's Triple Chocolate Pecan Brownies, it's a struggle to decide whether to finish reading or to hit the kitchen to whip up some of the goodies laced throughout the book.
It's a fantastic read all around, and I can't wait for the next installment in the series. Her next book, Crime and Clutter (A Friday Afternoon Club Mystery) is scheduled to be released in April 2007.
Books + food= YES!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2006-10-23
I've said before, I love reading books about food. Reading a novel that has the recipes it mentions is even better. As soon as I'm done with the book, I want to start making the food. What's even better is when the recipes are super easy for non cooks like me.
Dying to Decorate has all this and more. I really want to be able to find friends like the ladies in the Friday Afternoon Club when I reach that age. The friends meet every Friday (hence the name) for a time of fellowship, fun and food. Each woman has a very different personality that meshes well and doesn't clash with other. One of the members inherits a Civil War era house from her great aunt and the FAC goes to help her renovate it. During their stay, they discover the history of the house and how it will eventually change their own outlook of life. I enjoyed the book tremendously. My favorite scene was when John and Liz go out to dinner and stop by a coffeehouse. They order their coffee and John thinks he is splurging by ordering a grande. His reaction to the actual size of his cup as compared to Liz's venti is hilarious. I've been in Starbucks lots of times to hear people get confused and complain about the sizes. Sooooo relatable.
I'd recommend this book for fans of The Potluck Club or The Yada Yada Prayer Group. I really related to this book even though I'm the same age of the characters' kids! This book has it all: food, mystery, fun and even a history lesson! I am definitely looking forward to the next FAC adventure. I'm thinking about making that coconut cream pie or the baked potato soup...although i think i might pass on the pioneer mush :)
BONDING OVER FAITH, MOTHERHOOD, AND CHOCOLATE.......2006-09-18
Though author Cyndy Salzmann claims to be domestically challenged, my mouth was watering from the very first chapter of her debut novel. When I read her recipes for "I'm-So-Sorry Snickerdoodles" and "Double Mocha Frappuccino," I knew I was in good company with the "Friday Afternoon Club!"
This group of six ladies gets together every week to share their ups and downs and bond over faith, motherhood, and chocolate.
One group member, Lucy, has been in a slump of depression, while grieving the recent losses of both her husband and mother. She discovers that she's inherited an old family homeplace, Locust Hill, which was built before the Civil War. Yet the empty mansion is rumored to be haunted and echoes with mystery.
To cheer Lucy's spirits, the FAC girls plan a field trip to spruce the place up. While there, they unlock secrets from Lucy's ancestry, taking readers on a fascinating journey through American history.
Packed with recipes, this book will remind you of the joys of friendship and laughter. I'm ready for the sequel!

Majyk by Accident.......1999-11-26
Wonderful book! Funny, witty, interesting and I couldn't keep my hands off it.
This is one of the funniest books I ever read!.......1999-04-08
I read this book during my freshman year of high school and I immediately fell in love with it. How could you not fall in love with a book which can boast such characters as the hopelessly gullible and naive (not to mention failing) magic student Kendar Gangle, a.k.a. "Ratwhacker" and a cat with an attitude from Earth named Scandal who constantly talks about movies and other things that only someone from Earth would understand and thoroughly confusing all the other characters. In fact, the only other book I have read which comes even close to being equal to Majyk by Accident is the sequel!
Extremely funny fantasy.......1998-07-06
You like humor? You like fantasy? You'll like this book. Much of the humor in this story lies in the first person perspective. Kendar has a way of accenting his good moments and downplaying his bad ones that just reflects on Friesner's great sense of humor. Besides being funny, this book does not let you put it down. Friesner's style and ability to bring humor into a situation will leave you wondering how long it will take you to get a few more of her books.

A nice combination of gardening and cooking........1999-01-24
Lucinda broke new ground with the first edition of this book, and she's done an excellent job of refining the territory with the second. She obviously loves her herbs and loves cooking with them. A great compliment to the kitchen and the garden.
Book Description
Over 2,000 patterns and pieces by ceramicist Clarice Cliff and her colleagues at the Wilkinson Pottery: the most complete guide ever published to Cliff's colorful, delightful, and highly collectible work.
The dazzling ceramics of Clarice Cliff and the Wilkinson Pottery, which first encouraged her work in the 1920s, are among the most popular collectibles from the twentieth century. Ever since the exuberant colors and bold shapes of Cliff's classic Art Deco pieces first caught the imagination of collectors, auction prices have moved inexorably upwards, reaching over $50,000 for a single item. Now, after years of research, both in the Wilkinson archives and through the oral testimonies of surviving employees, Greg Slater has produced the first comprehensive survey of the work of Clarice Cliff and her largely uncredited colleagues at the Wilkinson Pottery from the 1920s to the 1950s.
This massive reference work identifies the origin, name, designer, date, and decoration method of all the significant pieces. Accessible through three indexespattern name, number, and backstampthe book is organized by pattern (including groups assigned by the Wilkinson Pottery and recognizable themes) and also by shape (an instant identifier for ceramics without a backstamp).
More than 2,000 illustrations plus a history, bibliography, glossary, and collectors' guide ensure that this will be the definitive book on the subject for generations to come. Over 2,000 illustrations, 1,384 in color.
Customer Reviews:
Claricce Cliff.......2007-10-09
One of the most definitive pictorial and historical records packaged in a very handsome, large volume.
An essential tool for the Clarice collector.......2007-08-19
This is an extraordinary achievement, leaving for dead most of the previous publications on Clarice Cliff. The research is the culmination of years of research through the Wilkinson archives, the pictures are sumptuous, and there is clear and logical indexing and referencing, which is often a downfall of books on collectibles. The flow-chart on page 19 is an invaluable tool for identification.
Superb Reference at a Reasonable Price.......2007-06-06
I find this book to be an incredibly valuable and easy to use reference to Clarice Cliff and Wilkinson pottery. It is 'comprehensive' and so far I haven't been stumped by a pattern that I couldn't find an example of in the book. The background information is comprehensive as well and I can now put shapes and styles into an overall perspective easily without having to browse through 20 difference catalogues and books. In the last 12 years I have purchased every book on Clarice Cliff that I could and they pale into insignificance in comparison with this. The information is not a repeat of other guides available and, in my opinion, the indexing and browsing references are so good that this book should win an award. I eagerly await any further publications by this author. I also think that the price for this book was very reasonable and about half what other references of the same calibre cost.
Colorful reference resource.......2007-05-25
I am a US collector of Clarice Cliff and was very much looking forward to this book. The positive: you can find almost any pattern and the dates they were designed and fired. If you need to find a pattern or shape, it should be in this book
The negative: Difficult to discerne the valuable from the run-of-the mill. There color photos are excellent and the application of paint comes alive on many of the objects. There is some controversy whether all the designs listed are really Clarice's. But after reading so many books about her and since was so reticent about giving information, it is more difficult to argue who designed what and when.
I use the book as a reference, not as a guide for what is the collectible. Since I believe CC's work is very hard to find in the states, it does serve as large enough range if I should ever come across a piece I must have!
Hastily Cobbled together!.......2006-05-14
Publishers have a habbit of regurgitating these guides
I should know!

scrap quilt celebration.......2003-01-19
I love this book. It not only dazzles you with great colour pictures but rates the difficulty level. I have picked out a few to try. Even the beginners level will fool those who don`t quilt into believing they are much more difficult. Really they aren`t! This book is one that will grow with the skills learned in each project. Its good value as you aren`t apt to just buy it for one pattern and move on. Its inspiring !!!
An Inspiring Book.......2002-12-27
I like this book! Firstly, the book is special because it has blank quilt designs which can be photocopied and colored in. The author rates her patterns and there are some very nice designs. The book is suitable for all skill levels. Finding fabrics to replicate some of the quilts might be difficult. The book requires more then just scraps. The author states in her introduction, that her book is ment to inspire. The quilts in the book are very beautiful and I have been inspired by the book.

In this book, you'll learn all about Bill Elliott: his biography, complete listing of his films, comments by his fellow actors, his horses, his personal life, his comic books, his ranking among Western stars, his favorite Western films, comments by other wtiters, plus much, much more.
Customer Reviews:
"Feel I have met Wild Bill through this book ~ Copeland".......2003-02-09
There was something about "I'm a peaceable man", when Bill Elliott would look you in the eye and say that line. Of course we fans knew him as "Wild Bill", and when you went to see him on the big screen, you got exactly what the marquee said...plenty of thrills, adventure and loaded with action. My personal favorites were the "Red Ryder Series" or "The Great Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok" an ongoing character that would appear in many films to come...as Hickok and Wild Bill Saunders. Elliott was a natural for the western, his riding abilities and fight scenes were the caliber of Buck Jones and Bob Steele. Seems the more films he made the better his acting and scripts were.
Bobby Copeland's book on "Bill Elliott:The Peaceable Man" is chuck full of answers to all the questions his fans had from early on. The forward by actress and co-star Peggy Stewart gives us a real insight of the man who was so peaceable. Plus other stars Gabby Hayes (his sidekick), Dub Taylor (another sidekick), Roy Barcroft (king of the badmen), Terry Frost (another badman), Tom London (a favorite of mine, did a lot of westerns with Wild Bill and many others), Marie Windsor (appeared in the film "Hellfire", a big favorite of mine) and Tex Ritter (teamed with him in many films)...all have expressed the same sentiments, Wild Bill was one of best-liked people in films. What you saw on the screen is what he really was...a great human being.
Copeland's coverage of the life and times of Elliott is very touching and entertaining. In his book there is His Biography...In the Comic Books...Ranking His Popularity...They Knew Bill Elliott...His Horses...They're Talking About Bill Elliott...Personal Life...Bill Elliott's Obituary...His Principal Sidekicks...Fred Harmon(Cowboy Artist, Creator of Red Ryder)...Bill Elliott Look-Alike(Ronnie Aycoth)...The Real Wild Bill vs. The Reel Wild Bill...Non-Starring Films of Elliott...More About the Author's Favorites...About The Author. There are many photos of stills, behind the scenes and personal pictures. My favorite is a rare photo of Gene Autry, Bill Elliott, Roy Rogers and the president of Republic Studios Herbert Yates during the peak of the studio.
I found myself being transported back in time, Mr. Copeland's book has opened my eyes to what a wonderful unselfish person Bill Elliott was...only wish I could have met him. He was one of a kind...a peaceable man!
