Sneak Attack!!!!!!!!!!.......2007-03-28
The spook who sat by the door should be required reading for any man of color. The book is about a black man named "freeman" that is chosen to be the token CIA agent to show that the government has some sort of diversification. Little do they know that Freeman's plan is to learn all the combat secrets he can and go back to his hometown of chicago to teach the local gangs all of the governments combat secrets. As the "freedom fighters" the newly trained former gang bangers under the helm of Freeman become revolutionaries. This is a good book that displays how black men should band together and be as one instead of constantly attacking each other.
Amazing.......2006-08-11
Got product in record time and in excellent condition. I always like dealing with Amazon.
Very interesting novel.......2005-11-13
Wow!!! Now I see why this book have been banned by the FBI for more than 30 years. This book can change the mind of people and can make a person think of why people turn into militants and want to be free. I recommend this to people because they need to think of what happens to the oppressed when they are being harrassed, and abused by the oppressors.
Most important book of a young black male thinker's life.......2005-07-28
I was ditching school in 1972 in a political bookstore when an excon walk in and said to me..."Read this book young brother!" I did! I then became a Black Panther, a Maoist, and a socialist. Afterward, I became an Ivy League MBA and a Republican with an SUV, two kids in private school and a fat mortgage! All because of this book! Read this book young brother!"
A Must read for sure.......2004-12-28
I read this book and I have the movie. If a person would really
like to know how some black people really feel today and have been feeling for year's.Go read this book and watch the movie.
This movie and the book's deal's with the real issue of real liberation and freedom for black people and afrikan's world wide.

Best book I've ever read in my life........1998-06-04
This book by Sam Greenlee is easy to relate to and shows Mr. Greenlee's extensive knowledge of the mental mindstates of people. Mr. Greenlee enstaled a chance of hope to eliminate black on black violence and a chance of hope for racial equality in the USA. This militant book should be reguired in curriculums worldwide.

Bullets and Bouquets
There is no room for murder on a honeymoon.
When J.W. Jackson foils an attempt to terminate former mob boss Luciano Marcus on the steps of Boston's Symphony Hall, it puts a definite damper on Jackson's and bride Zee Madieras's newlywedded bliss'especially when the mayhem follows them back home to Martha's Vineyard.
A part-time Vineyard resident himself, Marcus wants J.W. to find out who is behind the botched hit'an assignment the laid-back ex-cop can't refuse, since lady love Zee saw one of the would-be assassins and is now in peril herself. But with everyone from gangland rivals to Wampanoag Indians wishing Marcus harm, keeping the circling island sharks from the kill might be more than J.W. can handle.

a honeymoon with a touch of danger.......2007-06-11
Newlyweds J.W. and Zee are off to Boston, and lo and behold, J.W. breaks up an attempted murder on the street outside the opera house. Luciano Marcus, the intended target, is greatful, and hires J.W. to track down who was after him. Could it be from his past mob ties, or somebody who will inherit his fortune if he dies? Or maybe angry Wampanoags who want the old man's cranberry bog (sacred Indian ground)?
This book has interesting side stories, and fascinating characters. And the ending scene is a thriller. A delish mystery!

Not Free SF Reader.......2007-09-03
Former nogoodnik side's turn to do some galaxy saving.
Yet another descendant gets to play Kirlian hero, and this time he is of Andromedan lineage. It will be pretty easy, all he has to do is stop a space fleet of a million ships or so, and maybe dig up some old funky Ancient tech.
Great Sci-Fi from Piers Anthony.......2005-06-06
I read this series awhile back, but I clearly recall how enjoyable it was. The Kirlian Quest is a galaxy wide romp. 'Kirlian' comes from the 'Kirlian Aura' that displays around every intelligent being. Anthony shows his vivid imagination in this series by creating some very interesting aliens, and by going into great detail into thier mating habits, physiology, and peculiar views on existence.
He also has an imaginative method of interstellar travel - basically if you want to travel across light years - you find a willing host (one is found for you by the destination spot) and transfer your mind from your human (or alien body) into a willing host across the vast gap of light years. So the traveller ends up in a totally unique alien body.
This should appeal to all, but especially Anthony's more mature readers who may want a break from the Xanth novels. Don't get me wrong, I like Xanth, but I have always prefered his Sci-fi work. For other good Anthony sci-fi reads, check out the Orn, Ox, and Omnivore trilogy. His older novel Chthon is also quite good.
Pier's Quest.......2000-05-10
Kirlian Quest is another book from Pier's that inculdes his usuall puns and fantasy worlds. I strongly recommend it, along with his other master pieces which are the first books from his Xanth series.

A decent book for the un-informed........2002-07-23
Book gave basic information about the disease. I would like to have seen more in-depth information about the causes, statistics and treatment. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and am already aware of the majority of the information in the book.
Been There.......2001-03-14
Having been a patient of Ms. Sebastian's several years ago, I can honestly say that everything she talks about in this book is based on what real women (like me) have been through. I especially liked the coverage of the anxiety that can frequently go along with the depression, of which many people are unaware. This book is easy to read and understand, which can be helpful when you are suffering from depression/anxiety and may be having trouble with memory or concentration. Other women's "stories" in the book help you to realize that you are not alone and that there is successful treatment. I am proof!
A very informative book.......1999-05-08
This book was very comforting to my wife and me when she went through a depression after our second child. It caught us so off guard. We were hungry for information. This book helped us understand postpartum issues and how to get help.
A most-helpful book to me and my family........1999-04-23
This book explains postpartum depression very clearly and helps the family understand what the new mother is going through. The description about treatment helped explain what to expect.

Very helpful information for my daughter.......2000-07-05
After giving birth to my grandson my daughter changed. My wife and I did not know what to do for her. Out of all the materials on Postpartum Depression we obtained for her, this audio tape set was what she actually used. My wife and I also found the information very useful for ourselves. Dr. Nightingale's section on "What to do for someone with Postpartum Depression," has been invaluable to us. Even with my daughter's poor concentration she has been able to listen to Dr. Nightingale's story over and over when she is feeding the baby. These tapes have brought hope to my daughter and our family. I am very appreciative that they were available through amazon so quickly. The information on avoiding Postpartum Depression in future births has given my daughter hope about the future as well. I would highly recommend them for any family faced with the challenges of Postpartum Depression.

Customer Reviews:
My favorite slow cooker cook book.......2007-08-11
I love my slow cookers! I have three of them and have six slow cooker cook books. This one is definitely my favorite. I was a vegetarian for a long time and now that I am eating meat again I still go back to this book for my slow cooker recipes. The recipes often call for some minor sauteing prior to tossing everything in the slow cooker but this prep is quick and truly enhances the flavor of the dishes. This slow cooker book is not just a "toss in all of the processed foods and call it dinner" slow cooker cook book. This cookbook uses real ingredients for inventive, healthy, inexpensive, and savory dishes. A must-buy for a slow cooker and veggie lover! Delicious meals to come home to on those stressful days...everyone should use this book!
Don't waste your money.......2007-08-04
The thing that I love about slow cookers is, you throw everything into the pot, turn it on and at dinner time you have a meal. It's simple, easy and tastes GREAT. Unless you like to cook, then put it into the crockpot, i would not recomend this book. You might as well cook the whole meal, you are already doing half of the cooking anyhow. Also.....the recipes in here have a LOT of ingredients, not very practicle for my family. We can't afford to cook gourmet meals.
a must have cookbook!.......2007-07-25
This is a must have cookbook! I have made several of the recipes listed in her book and each is tasty. I'd like to thank Judith Finlayson for this wonderful book. She has made dinners quick, nutritious, and delicious!
Not worth it.......2007-05-03
This has delicious sounding recipes - however, EVERY ONE of them requires pre-cooking something before you can ever put in the cooker. My idea of a slow cooker recipe is one in which I can just dump stuff in and go. No, not with this book. What a complete waste of money, I don't have time to do all that's required to make these recipes!
Good Recipes, but tough ingredients.......2007-02-21
The recipes in this book are great, but there is usually one ingredient in every recipe that is tough to find at the grocery store, or seasonal. If you have a big healthfood store near you, it shouldn't be a problem.

Customer Reviews:
Some tasty stuff.......2007-03-27
The spinach lasagna is KILLER, and I make several of the appetizers on a regular basis for my omnivore friends and family. Desserts are so-so. Several recipes call for vegan cheese, which I am not fond of.
Great Basic Cookbook!.......2007-01-12
I decided I had to come sing my praises of this book as I made yet another recipe last night that came out great. I have yet to have had a dud from this book, and that says a lot.
I made the Sticky Pecan Squares for the holidays (only I used walnuts) and my non-vegan coworkers were hooked. Hard to believe something so easy could have such great results.
And the same thing can be said about the Curried Chickpeas that I made for dinner last night. It is such a great basic recipe that could be changed up in many ways, and I plan on making it again very soon.
I recieved this book as a gift, and am constantly thanking the purchaser when I discover yet another tasty treat from this book.
I have started quite the collection of vegan cookbooks, but when I want an easy meal that tastes good, I always come back to this one.
I highly recommend it to both new and seasoned vegans alike.
Outstanding recipes.......2006-07-08
This is my first review but I really wanted to rate this book as it is so good. I have been a vegan for many years and am a keen cook and have a shelf full of cookbooks but this one is truly amazing. I have tried 8 recipes so far and each one was great and my kids loved it (the only exception was the chocolate pudding which I found not sweet enough and had to add quite a bit of sugar). I have just made the brownies after years of trying different vegan brownie recipes and always being disappointed but these are the absolute best brownies I have ever tasted. I think this book is the perfect combination of exciting but not too complicated (or weird)recipes. Any vegan, especially those with picky kids will find this one of the most useful cookbooks on their shelves.
The Best! You have to try this book! .......2006-03-24
I love this book so much. I just received it a few weeks ago, and I am wondering how I ever made do without it! Every single recipe I have tried so far has been superb, and they have all proved to be hearty and satisfying. No bird food here.
The recipe for Lasagna with Spinach and Olives is so good that I had to make a second pan within days of the first because it got such rave reviews (by meat-eaters I might add). The Penne with Mushrooms, Sun-dried Tomatoes, and Artichokes has become another easy favorite. The Chocolate Pudding is to die for, it is so creamy and rich. The Luscious Apple Butter had my sister (who claims to hate apple butter) swooning. The Corn and Sweet Potato Chowder is delicious, filling and super fast to throw together. The Chunky Guacamole, Hummus with Roasted Red Peppers, Roasted Garlic and White Bean Dip were gone within the hour when I took them to a pot-luck. At least 5 people must have asked me for the recipes. The Rice Pudding with Raisins has become a new "comfort" food for when I want something sweet, creamy and hot. I will also admit that I can be found standing in front of the fridge sneaking bites of cold rice pudding all day long too!
I cannot wait to try all of the recipes. This book deserves 10 Stars!
These reviews look suspicious.......2006-03-04
At first, I was impressed by the reviews. Then I got suspicious as they all sounded similar and every single review had 5 stars and a perfect "found helpful" rating. Every reviewer but one has reviewed only one book - this one. I think I'll pass on this book and buy one with a greater variety of authentic-sounding reviews.

Learn something every day. Love that maxim!! This book gives you the complete picture, well worth the money.
Dennis Skea
Good book but maybe not what you expect........2003-01-05
I enjoy reading Mr.Salyes' books and this one is no exception. He easily one of the best current numismatic authors. This work does a great job of covering the types of counterfeits along with their history and an overview of how they are created. It is a very good book for anyone beginning to collect ancient coins. One thing the book is not is a catalog of counterfeits nor a guide on how to detect counterfeits. These subjects are beyond the scope of any general work and are dealt with by various numismatic associations and their publications. So if you are only looking for a manual or catalog move on.
A Must Read for Beginners or old collectors........2002-08-27
This book is a must read for those starting out in collecting coins, either ancient or modern. It explains the differences in the original minting of coins, and the "modern" reproductions, fakes and forgeries, even ancient forgeries. It is easy reading, and will give a good basis for coin collecting. It is worth the short time it takes to read, and it may save you from some embarassment.
A MUST FOR PURCHASERS OF ANCIENT COINS.......2001-08-24
For a long time there was considerable confusion about the authenticity of ancient coins. While considerable quantities have been found in the former ancient sites, and they have been collected since ancient times, few works were available to help the collector distinguish between the actual ancient works and fakes and copies made after. Works that are available are hard to find, usually specific to one forger and quite costly. I can safely say that this book clearly outlines the things to look for, from the commonest tourist cast copy to the advanced techniques used to fool the more advanced collectors.
If you want to collect coins you should include this book as one of your first buys because it can save you many times its cost with the purchase of just one coin that is not right. This is especially true if you are buying on the internet from sometimes unreliable impersonal sources.
The format is great with a show and tell approach, easy to use, and references to other works on specialized areas of counterfeiting.
While it shows and concentrates on mostly ancient coins the information is valid for all copies. There are great plates of the fakes the average modern collector is apt to encounter now on the market. This book will help you acquire the basic knowledge necessary in collecting coins just as in any other facet of collecting antiques or art.

Product Description
This is the complete biography of the first African American fighter pilot, Georgia native Eugene J. Bullard (1895-1961). An accomplished professional boxer, musician, club manager, and impresario of Parisian nightlife between the world wars, Bullard found in Europe a degree of respect and freedom unknown to blacks in America. There, for twenty-five years, he helped define the expatriate experience for countless other African American artists, writers, performers, and athletes. Craig Lloyd recounts Bullard's life from his boyhood in Jim Crow-era Georgia and his vagabond journey to Europe through his varied careers in France and his final years in New York. Eugene Bullard, Black Expatriate in Jazz-Age Paris offers a fascinating look at an extraordinary man who lived on his own terms.
The new preface for this paperback edition draws on documents discovered in a French archive since the book was first published. Author Craig Lloyd notes that the new archival material confirms Bullard's suspicions that it was an American military officer, Edmund Gros, who ended Bullard's career as a combat pilot flying for France in World War I. Letters among the archival materials also affirm Bullard's contention in All Blood Runs Red, his memoir, that he was a close friend of Edmund Genet, a then-famous white American pilot flying for France.
Customer Reviews:
The First Black Combat Pilot........2007-07-26
This book gives you the opportunity to get a feeling of what your life may have been like living in the Jim Crow era of Georgia. My name is Bullard and I am a white genealogist. Eugene Bullard was the son of ex-slaves that were owned by a family named Bullard.
It is fabulous to see a black person rise out of impossible circumstances to become an expatriate combat pilot in the French Air Force during World War I. Jazz and Blues is what I listen to every day and the Jazz story in this book is very interesting to me.
Bullard's definitive biography.......2002-03-12
Eugene Bullard was an African American man who was born in 1895 in Columbus, Georgia, and lived a really fascinating live. After leaving the U.S. in 1912 to escape the existing suffocating racist oppression, he stayed first in Britain, and then settled in France where he lived as a boxer, entertainer, jazz drummer, was a war hero in the trenches in Verdun, and become the first African American combat pilot in 1917 (in French service: the U.S. would allow black combat pilots only in 1941...). After the war, like so many other African Americans, he remained in Europe. He become a well known entrepeneur in the Parisian night club life during the 20s and 30s. At the German invasion in 1940, and after a brief stint in the French army, he went back to the U.S. where he died in New York in 1961. Revered in France as a national hero during is life, and completely unknown in his country until more than twenty years after his death, the life of this extraordinary man has in this book a much deserved homage and, probably, its definitive biography.
A forgotten hero not deserving to be forgotten!.......2001-09-29
A very well documented biography on a genuine American and French hero. Unfortunately he was born during the Jim Crow era in the south (even though the constitution which was written over 100 years before his birth mentions "all men are created equal", this did not include any non-caucasian's or women, did it? Did not use the word minority since it denotes less than some majority, there are more non-caucasian's in the world anyway and what is really meant by that word is just that, non-caucasian. I find it odd that the USA was founded by European descendants like the English, French and even though the country prided itself on it's progresive nature, it did not include equality, even though Europe itself did not practice racial discrimination). He was born the seventh child of a large family and his father always had a premonition of a very distinguished future for him and let it be known to him when he was young. Talks about his travel through the south after he left home and was told early by his father of a country (France) where all men are truly free. This had a profound effect on him because he eventually made it to France via England first.
He began his livelyhood as a theatre performer and boxer; two opposing and similar avocations. He joined the military and became the first Black American and Black Frenchman aviator and was awarded medals for his bravery, dedication and skills. Very well liked, he had a contagious personality and started working at a famous Paris club later in life and eventually became a club owner himself. He met the famous of the day like Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Langston Hughes, Bricktop and many others. This biography also got me interested in Jazz age Paris to request both autobiographies of Hughes and Bricktop.
Slowly (too slowly) more is being known about this man and his acomplishments and contributions to the human race.
You won't be able to put it down. Jack Johnson's autobiography "In the Ring and Out" is another good bio of that era too.
A True Hero.......2000-08-02
I had earlier learned of some of Eugene Bullard's exploits, but Craig Lloyd's book spotlights an endless list of amazing achievements that seem unbelievable for any man to accomplish in just one lifetime. It's a shame Bullard's life has been up to now unexplored and uncelebrated. Hopefully this extremely well-researched biography will fix that.
