Book Description
John le Carré has earned worldwide acclaim with novels that navigate the shadow worlds of espionage. In The Little Drummer Girl, one of his most enduring works, le Carré took leave of the Circus, George Smiley, and all his people, and presented instead an original canvas that remains, two decades later, stunningly fresh and topical. It was then, and is now, a thrilling, moving, and courageous novel of Middle Eastern intrigue.
Charlie is a promiscuous, unsuccessful, English actress in her twenties. Vacationing on the Greek island of Mykonos with friends, she longs for commitment. But to what? To whom? Intrigued by a handsome, solitary bather, Charlie finds herself lured into the "theatre of the real." For the mysterious man is Kurtz, an embattled Israeli intelligence officer out to stop the bombing of Jews in Europe. Forced to play her most challenging role, Charlie is plunged into a deceptive and delicate trap set to ensnare an elusive Palestinian terrorist...and soon proves herself a double agent of the highest order.
Customer Reviews:
This is a Good Rollicking Adventure .......2007-03-13
I liked it much better than The Constant Gardener. Charlie and Kurtz are simply great characters. A twenty year old book but timely anyway as far as the deep-seated issues of terrorist Islam versus the rest of the world. Couldn't turn the pages fast enough and the flight from San Diego to Hawaii seemed liked minutes.
One of his best . . ........2006-06-05
Kurtz. What a character! Le Carre, who conjured up George Smiley, gives us Kurtz, a man of smarts, wit, and contrast. The genius of Le Carre is the richness, the sheer life force of his characters. Kurtz, Charlie, Gadi and even Khalil are no mere 'cutouts' a la Tom Clancy.
The Little Drummer Girl details an Israeli operation using an anti-Israeli Brit, an innocent, as bait(to catch a lion, you must first tether the goat). Yes, the novel could have been shorter, but then we would be deprived by the beauty of Mr. Le Carre's prose, his precision, his mastery of English.
Who would have thunk it: after the trilogy of Mr. Smiley and his beloved London, the author has a delicious ace up his jacket.
I found the treatment of Jews and Israelis to be fair, for he explores the spectrum of Israeli thoughts; and, perhaps unwittingly, the dogmatic contrast in Arab thought. He misses the religious conflict at force, but this novel was written before Jihad became a household world, and at a time when the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was looked at in a purely 'secular' dispute of two peoples: not as a religious conflict with daily extension throughout the globe.
Relish this book.
Not ashamed to say that I loved it.......2006-04-09
Why did I love this book?
1. It's utterly compelling. What will happen to Charlie? Will she succeed? What is Kurtz devising? How will he, his team, and Charlie respond as the events unfold?
2. Description. It starts with a bang from page one... the neighborhood, a small-spirited man, the ant colony of people, sound written on the page....
3. Characters. Whether you like them or not, they're real. You feel their pain, angst, hopes and drives. And no matter where your sympathies lie, it's hard not to like each of them in some way.
4. Transport. I was initially confused in the beginning. Then the plot lines melded, and suddenly I was brought to reality. Can't say more or I'll blow it for you.
5. Charlie. I was thrilled that Le Carre finally had a female lead character. She's talented, intelligent, big-hearted, guilt-driven, extroverted, sensual, intense, insecure with low self-esteem, and a brat.
6. Romance. Not since George Smiley and his lady love have we had such out-and-out confrontation of characters' love lives. (If you're into this sort of thing, you may also want to check out "The Constant Gardener.")
My best friend, also a big Le Carre fan, didn't care for this book. To each his own, I say. I loved it. It's not my favorite Le Carre novel, but it's up there.
Is It Good vs. Evil, or Evil vs. Evil.......2004-09-25
Mr. Le Carre wrote this book about the Middle East in 1983, and it is as timely a novel now as it was then. Charlie, a modestly talented British actress goes to work for Israeli intelligence to try and locate a secretive Palestinian agent. Indoctrinated with a false background of having a romantic affair with the agent's brother, she plays the role with such determination that she begins to believe this fictional experience. At various points in the novel the reader begins to wonder if Charlie will remain an Israeli spy or begin to identify with the Palestinians.
Le Carre skillfully develops the philosophy of the opposing sides. The Palestinian and Israeli characters all feel the righteousness of their cause. Each feels that they are on the side of justice, and even human love, to oppose those whom they feel are motivated by purely evil intent. There is never a consideration of whether the end should justify the means. Anything goes when justice is on your side. You are left with the feeling that there is no resolution to this conflict.
JLC is known for his slow, detailed exposition of plot and character. You read over 100 pages before you get a glimmering of what is probably going to happen. There are some thrills in this novel, but don't expect this to be an edge of your seat ride. The first part of the book involves a bombing in Berlin, and the author, in an updated introduction to the book, admits that maybe he should have shortened this section somewhat. I rather like the book's pace, seeing the development of the characters, and the gelling of the Byzantine plot. He's a skilful, intelligent writer, and that's just fine. One outstanding section of the book involves the chief Israeli agent, an expert manipulator, jousting with a British intelligence officer. The description of the pompous, controlling Brit is priceless, and the two characters' verbal fencing is immensely funny.
This almost 500 page book could have been written in 200 pages by the typical mystery hack, but I enjoyed every word of this fine novel.
A difficult book to evaluate.......2004-08-17
I enjoyed this novel quite a bit, but I'm not sure if I should be embarassed to admit it.
Le Carre is said to know something about intelligence operations in the real world, but the plot seems a bit implausible to me. Everything hinges on Charlie, even though no one knows what she will do, or even what she believes. I can't believe that governments would conduct business that way, not if the stakes were high.
The book functions best as a romance. Charlie's pretty appealing, in a sexist way: A beautiful, smart, talented woman who is more or less waiting for a man to come around and mold her; she's Kim Novak in Vertigo. That's the problem -- her appeal is rooted in her plasticity, and in the way she responds to abuse by redoubling her efforts to please. When I responded to the character I was simultaneously entertained and, I'm afraid, a little diminished.
Politically, the book is sort of puzzling. In the novel (I don't mean this to be a comment on reality in either direction), the Israelis don't have much justice on their side, but they are decent and compassionate people. The Palestinians, conversely, seem to have legitimate claims, but their national champions are bloodthirsty monsters.
It's an odd juxtaposition which tends to produce a sense of balance for the reader, but whether or not it has any basis in reality is something I'll leave to people who know more about the region. My guess, though, is that both sides are shortchanged pretty substantially, in different ways.
On one hand, we have the Jewish conspirators, puppet masters of consumate skill, manipulating everyone with whom they come in contact. They control everything secretly, using methods so subtle the rest of the world doesn't even know it's being led. On the other hand, we have the passionate and violent Arab terrorists, primitive and sensual, extraordinarily beautiful, but lacking a nuanced sense of morality. The noble savage incarnate. Offensive stereotypes all around, in other words.
But having said all of that, I enjoyed reading the book. I've just finished it, and I'm sorry it's over. As entertainment it works, but if you think about it too much it's not so sturdy.

Not Free SF Reader.......2007-09-03
The Little Drummer Girl involves a conflict between Israeli and Palestinian spymasters, basically. The Israeli man choose an actress to use as an agent to further his ends, and the book follows her adventures and problems throughout.
The major problem with it is you are not quite sure why the woman is doing what she is doing, so doesn't hold up as well when that doesn't make sense.
Spy novel about terrorism ... and love.......2002-03-27
The Little Drummer Girl to me is LeCarre's best work. The book is about an English actress, Charlie, who is recruited by Israeli spys to help find and stop a Palestinian bomber and his network. The novel's overriding theme is the motivations of various people who are willing to do anything for their cause. LeCarre is a master of characterization; these people seem so real it is hard to believe this is fiction. To me, Charlie is every bit as memorable as George Smiley, LeCarre's best-known and much-loved creation. In fact, she may be more remarkable in that LeCarre, a man, has revealed this woman's heart so well. Females turned off by the macho spy novel genre should take note: This is also a very moving love story.

Book Description
Top Two Don'ts for the Office Party.
--Don't dress in a revealing manner.
(Translation: Don't wear the sexy scarlet, size-eight dress you couldn't fit into three months ago. The one that flaunts your firmed-up cleavage and newly discovered collarbones.)
--Don't make a spectacle of yourself.
(Translation: Don't get drunk and make out with a really cute stranger for the whole company to see; he could turn out to be your boss's roommate.)
I didn't follow these tips and here I am with a hot new man in my life, Jack. But my friends are asking if I really want to bump into my boss in his boxers in the hallway of their apartment. After all, I am aiming for a promotion.
And now, not only does my ex want me back, but the guy I used to think was Mr. Right just kissed me!
Three months ago I couldn't hold on to one guy. Now three want me. When did my life become so complicated?
Customer Reviews:
Great easy read .......2007-10-05
I really enjoyed this book. I liked the characters and it made me laugh. One of the reasons I really liked it, I was able to get through it pretty quickly, so it didn't take out too much of my studying time. And I love when a book actually makes me laugh out loud.
Perfect.......2007-01-02
I just finished this book, and have to say how much I enjoyed it. It was fast paced, funny, sacarstic and just my favorite kind of writing. I can't wait to read more from this author.
More than Slightly..........2006-01-24
There is much to be said about a nice, easy-to-read novel. The Red Dress Ink offerings are soothing, fun and very addictive. Wendy Markham's effort, Slightly Settled, is definitely one of the better ones.
Slightly Settled tells the story of newly-single gal, Tracy Spadolini. It's been three months since her boyfriend of three years, Will, dumped her for another girl, and Tracy finally decides it's time to get back out there. Newly slim (after being prescribed "happy pills" to curb her panic attacks and, surprisingly, her appetite), Tracy has no problem hooking up with sexy Jack at the office Christmas party. The downside? Jack is Tracy's boss's roommate, and catching Mike in the hallway in his underwear does not a good day make!
However, that turns out to be the least of Tracy's problems. Besides catching grief from her friends about dating too soon after her breakup, it seems her ex doesn't know how to leave her alone. Plus, her friend, Buckley, who would make a great Mr. Right, somehow manages to insert himself into the picture, too.
Life is suddenly complicated, and even Tracy's weekly therapy sessions don't help much in figuring out what to do. Wendy Markham's story plays out in a freshly realistic way, and watching as Tracy works out her problems (or tries to!) keeps the reader turning pages quickly. Very light and fun, Slightly Settled is one book that will have you more than slightly entertained.
Slightly Settled.......2006-01-01
Very funny you will love the main character. One of those you won't be able to put down until done.
Adequate read, poor sequel.......2005-02-15
I read Slightly Single in 2001 and thought it was a pleasant read. I was excited to hear that the author had decided to continue the story of Tracey, a recently single woman. However, while the book was the light-hearted read I was looking for, I was annoyed at how indecisive Tracey is and the constant mention (even through the last page) of her ex-boyfriend, Will.
This book was not a good sequel to Slightly Single and I found myself utilimately dissapointed. As a light-hearted "beach read" this book fulfilled my needs on an adequate, but not excellent, level.
Book Description
The black-ops government agency known as Sigma has shattered the resistance, destroyed its infrastructure, and taken its best operative captive. It's about as bad as it can get, but Sigma's forgotten one thing. Rowan Price. Rowan is no longer a civilian in the shadow war. Her talents are almost fully trained, and she's become something she never dreamed of-a cool, clinical, lethal psionic operative. Working as Henderson's second-in-command, she's utterly focused on two things: repairing the Society's infrastructure and rescuing Justin Delgado. Yet under her shell of calm and gentleness, her rage is simmering.and it's about to break loose. Delgado knows he can't remember something important. He puts up with Sigma's beatings and questioning, the pain and the torture. Sigma keeps asking him the same question-where is Rowan Price? He doesn't know who Price is or where she is, but if he can escape Sigma one more time, he's damn sure going to find out. Because Price, whoever she is, holds the key to his fractured memories and destroyed soul. The only problem for him is getting out, and Justin Delgado is very good at solving problems. Once he's out, nothing in the world is going to stop him from pursuing Rowan Price. But that may be the one thing Sigma's counting on.
Customer Reviews:
Damn and Double Damn!.......2006-05-13
I goofed, I grabbed the wrong book. I meant to get the Society, so I was a titch lost when I started Hunter, Healer. Thankfully that didn't seem to matter. I plunged in, was caught up in the swirl of character and story and was swept away in a heartbeat.
This is a chase story, a tightly written chase story that does not, I repeat does not have the overwheliming feeling of being in a video game that many of the latest chase stories have. There was true tension as Rowan Price tries to hold on to the mask she wears to hide the inner turmoil over the loss of the love her life Justin Delgado. She is a stron psion, perhaps one of the strongest. AS a member of the Society, she is constantly on the run from Sigma, the evil governmental agency in charge of tracking down, capturing and using psions.
Sigma has recaptured Justin and is trying to break the block he has placed in his memory - they want Rowan.
Rowan and Justin are both fully realized, seriously damaged people who can't slow down to catch a breath much less a break. As usual, Lilith Saintcrow creates living breathing minor characters who exist for more than color or to provide the crucial info in a nick of time. This is a wonderful change and well worth it!
Pros:
1. Wonderful characters - real enough that at times I was in tears.
2. Tight prose, not a word wasted
3. Fully realized locations, I felt I was in Vegas and on the road.
Cons:
Not long enough
Another great book by Lilith Saintcrow!.......2006-02-19
Lilith Saintcrow concludes her two book series about psions with this stunning effort. As in the previous book, THE SOCIETY, two groups exist that recruit psions. Sigma is a black ops government agency that forcibly recruits psions using whatever means are necessary, including torture and addiction to the drug Zed. The Society is the opposing force that attempts to rescue psions prior to their capture by Sigma and then voluntarily trains them or helps them hide. The last book ended with a cliffhanger in which Justin Delgado was recaptured by Sigma and hooked on Zed again. Prior to being dosed with Zed, Justin used his psionic powers to push his mind to forget Rowan Price so that he would be unable to betray her. Rowan has powers yet untapped and the ability to heal others, including the ability to help others withdraw from Zed. She wants only to get Justin free from Sigma. However, Justin escapes yet again from Sigma and seeks out Rowan on his own. I won't spoil the remainder of the story but I will say that it is non-stop action as Justin and Rowan, along with the rest of the Society, take down Sigma. This was a great read and held my interest throughout both books in the series. Highly recommended!
Long Awaited Sequel to The Society.......2006-02-02
Hunter, Healer picks up where The Society left off, w/ Rowan searching, fighting to find Justin (Del) and with Justin fighting to escape Sigma.
In Justin's absence, Rowan has become Henderson's 2nd-in-command focused on 3 things: 1) repairing the Society 2) rescuing Justin Delgado and 3) destroying Sigma. Meanwhile Justin who doesnt remember Rowan, is trying to escape Sigma. He knows he's forgotten something very important by having made himself "push" Rowan from his thoughts. By doing this he cant answer any questions about Rowan...who Sigma is desparately trying to locate and capture. No matter what the torture nor even the addicting drug ZED, he doesnt remember Rowan.
I really liked The Society and Hunter, Healer. It seems like I waited forever for the sequel to be publish (promised in November, released the end of December). Paranomal romances in contemporary settings are my favorite type of books. I also liked Ms Saintcrow's 2 "Watcher" books and now I'm waiting for the continuation of those stories, too (suppose to be released in 2005 but they havent been released yet). The one thing that I'm really greatful for is that this book didnt end w/ a "to be continued" like The Society did.

Da Jesus Book.......2007-10-06
What an amazing translation of the Bible! Our teenage daughter asked for this book for her birthday and was delighted to receive it. It really puts God's words in understandable (mostly!) pidgin English. I love it.
Da Best Buy.......2007-05-13
I bought this Bible because I teach Sunday school to 6th graders. This is so much fun! We have a memory verse each week and they can read it out of the Da Jesus Book. If you want to get kids excited about what God's word says, then get this one! My purchase got to me quicker than promised and in great condition.
One more perspective.......2007-01-18
Being a serious student of the Bible for almost 50 years, I have a number of translations, versions, and paraphrased editions in my library which I use for comparison as well as reading and studying. This Pidgin English volume offers a brand new perspective unlike any other, in that it is written in such simple earthy terms that not only the meaning of the verses but the "heart" of the verses jumps out at you. Reading aloud from it is also enjoyable entertainment in small informal group settings. I highly recommend it.
Get it!.......2007-01-16
This Bible translation speaks to the heart. My whole family has enjoyed reading it aloud. It is a very precious, fun, enlightening book. I have 2 sons at a Christian university, one is graduating with a degree in Bible Literature and Philosophy, and the other is majoring in psychology. They both took their "Da Jesus Book" Bibles to school with them. We learned of this book from a speaker at our church, Steve Saint, who recently starred in the movie "End of the Spear." He speaks all over the world, telling the story of the movie, which is based on actual events in his life.
Da Jesus Book.......2007-01-16
Our whole family has enjoyed this different but accurate translation of God's word!

Book Description
Dorothy Parker once remarked that "men seldom make passes at girls who wear glasses", but today good-looking eyewear has become a must-have fashion accessory. In fact, since the 16th century at least, eyeglasses have been designed to be seen as well as to aid in seeing. Collectible Eyeglasses shows the full range of eyewear from opera glasses to extreme sports goggles - and shows how quickly the merely practical became stylish and, now, a trendy fashion collectible! The book is divided into sections on antique glasses, sunglasses, classics and contemporary designs as well as everyday frames and a very special section on unusual designs and whimsical frames. Over four hundred annotated color photographs, accompanied by an informative introduction and a list of useful websites and addresses offer both collectors and lovers of vintage fashion an entirely new way of seeing... and being seen!

wonderful resource for costumers and reenactors!!.......1999-03-03
I purchased this book as a gift for a fellow costumer friend. Now I want a copy for myself! As far as I know, there is no other resource that focuses exclusively on, or even devotes any space to such a comprehensive and detailed representation of period eyewear. The photographs are beautiful, and the details of the specimens are fascinating. I learned things I never knew about glasses before.
Now I'm tempted to pick up the other titles in this series, especially the ones on hats and footwear. If you're a costumer or reenactor, this is an excellent (and affordable!) resource to have in your library.
Excellent reference for collectors........1998-03-13
I'm an optometrist and spectacle maker and this is the best book I've found for identifying and dating antique eyewear.

Fantastic.......2007-06-27
The book is good. It covers most Control sys concepts. However, the chapters on Nyquist, Bode, and Root Locus are a little convoluded. I have yet to find a Control Sys. book that covers these concepts well. Otherwise, a great reference for those taking a course, and contains a good number of workable problems and solutions.
a great book, but you need another text book with it........2005-03-13
This is one of my favorite books. Once you have the basic theory behind you this book shows you the techniques to quickly simplify control blocks ( You want to be able to solve questions more than one way to check yourself) . I just keep this book handy and have alots of added notes for specific control models. It helps round out other books in the end i found this book by itself with some photo copies from other texts was enough for me. There are alot good text books for control theory. I prefer ones with matlab / simulink exercises.
The text Ogata is a famous quality standard univeristy text worldwide which has plenty of exercise/ solutions.( I like that style of text).
Good Remainder for The Basic Concept.......2003-07-05
I am a student of Graduate School, and my major is Adaptive Control. I consider this book very good book for me, especially because it summarizes and covers most of the basic concept and method about control engineering, which I sometimes forget. So, by having this book now, I can anytime find and reread the part I have forgotten. Of course, it will be better if you also accompany this book with others books which explain more detil about control.
Excellent for Undgrad Course.......2002-10-12
I'm currently taking a Feedback Control Theory course at the undergrad level, and I think this book is an excellent exposition of classical control theory. Our text for the course is Feedback Control of Dynamic Systems, written by people from Stanford. Schaum's Outline actually has more *theory* than the textbook we are using. It eliminates all of the frills and pretty colored diagrams in favor of exposing everything an undergraduate would have trouble with. And for those people who think the emphasis is only on problem solving, this "Outline" has more mathematical proof than the book from Stanford I just mentioned! I highly recommend using this book to get off on the right foot in control systems, whether you are an engineer just learning the material or an undergraduate; it solidifies the foundations of the theory so that practical problems will come more easily. Also, it is a practical book as well.
Detailed Overview of the Classical Control Theory.......2001-11-01
I only bought this book after I went through undegraduate control and digital control classes. And after getting very fragmented knowledge of these disciplines, this book was very good in helping me sort it out. Yes, if you don't know a thing about control theory or don't have basic math background, it probably is hard to grasp without any other sourses. But if you have some basic understanding of the subject, then it is a very good review and reference for the classical control theory. I used this book for review before taking a PhD preliminary exam in controls, and it helped a lot. Now I am using it for the same reason for the job I just started. I like the way it describes digital control theory in parallel with the continuous-time controls, which is the best way to understand the discrete-time tools, instead of taking a whole other class starting from scratch. Constant examples to illustrate the theory are very good, so are the excersises. Mind you, this book doesn't go into details like some 800pp. volumes but it doesn't leave out anything important either. I highly recommend this book to undegrad and grad students, as well as a reference for the engineers.

Book Description
Integral Transforms in Computational Heat and Fluid Flow is a comprehensive volume that emphasizes the generalized integral transform technique (G.I.T.T.) and the developments that have made the technique a powerful computational tool of practical interest. The book progressively demonstrates the approach through increasingly difficult extensions and test problems. It begins with an overview of the generalized integral transform technique in contrast with classical analytical ideas. Various applications are presented throughout the book, including transient fin analysis with time-dependent surface dissipation, laminar forced convection inside externally finned tubes, metals oxidation at high temperatures, forced convection in liquid metals, and Navier-Stokes equations.
Product Description
This is a NAVAL POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL MONTEREY CA report procured by the Pentagon and made available for public release. It has been reproduced in the best form available to the Pentagon. It is not spiral-bound, but rather assembled with Velobinding in a soft, white linen cover. The Storming Media report number is A535793. The abstract provided by the Pentagon follows: Use of the National Ignition Facility with green light as the laser output is an intriguing option for advanced applications ranging from inertial fusion to production of compact x-ray sources. Particular attention is given to the potential use of 0.53 micrometers light to produce a high-energy x-ray source. This application requires the efficient generation of high-energy electrons which can subsequently produce high-energy x-rays as they transport into gold or other high Z wall. One- and two-dimensional computer simulations are used to explore high-energy electron generation by intense 0.53 micrometers laser light in a plasma with density near one-quarter the critical density. Significant absorption is shown to occur into high-energy electrons with an effective temperature which is reduced by the development of ion fluctuations. The results compare favorably with some recent experiments using 0.53 micrometers light.

Old Fashioned Type Kitchens.......2005-05-26
I think the person who reviewed the book as too old, misunderstood the book's intent. The book is about barn kitchens, retro kitchens, cottage kitchens, farm type kitchens. Depends on what you want your kitchen to look like. Not all of us want a light beech modern kitchen that looks sterile.
Very dated.......2001-03-01
I didn't know when I ordered this that it was such an old book. It's not that the kitchens are bad but the book and the rooms in it are so dated. I feel that I did not get my money's worth. I assumed that the book would give me some fresher ideas than these. A real disappointment.
THIS BOOK IS EXCELLENT, I THINK EVERY AUTHOR SHOULD READ IT........1999-06-30
CRHIS MADDEN HAVE BEEN A FAVORITE OF MIND FOR YEARS, THIS BOOK IS GREAT, I DON'T OWN IT SO I CONSTANTLY CHECK IT OUT OF THE LIBRARY, AND I RENEW IT, EVERYTIME MY RENEW TIME IS OVER.
THANKS FOR A GREAT BOOK.

An indespensible book if you can find it........2000-09-27
It's 2:40 in the morning; I'm recovering from a nasty headcold. What could possibly have me awake and typing?
I've poured over 175 beautiful pages for the last day, and now I just want to read everything she's written.
Delving into the graphic design industry, its history and heroes, particularly since the advent of the Macintosh and desktop publishing both inspires and entertains.
A fabulously researched book with exquisite reproductions and wonderful design of its own.

Another tragic sports story.......2003-10-25
Sad story of Robert Nathaniel Presley, a promising black college basketball player of the 1960s. Although just shy of seven feet tall, he never made it to the pros, committing suicide after a string of disappointments, run-ins with police and other authority figures, and the pressure of the public spotlight and expectations. It's a story that seems to repeat itself every few years, with just the names and the faces changing. In Presley's version, the story takes you from the streets of Detroit to the campus of Cal Berkeley amidst the political and black civil rights turmoil of the 1960s. This seems to be a fair and accurate account and may have seemed more vital or groundbreaking when it was written four decades ago. It's sad that nowadays stories like this are so commonplace that they seem to be nearly cliche.

Book Description
Here is an autobiography that only a clinical psychologist could write. Dr. Munter's story shows how she became a person with an impatience for passivity, taking risk after risk, each in its own way bigger than the last, weaving all the elements into a life lived authentically and cliche-free. This book contrasts with externally-oriented achievement lists found in many life stories, which seldom tell the inner workings of the individual.
Almost Famous can be enjoyed on several levels. It's more than an entertaining tale of life on the fringes of show business. It could also be called, "How to develop a sense of self" and survive in a world that is not always fair.
