This is the second book, first published in 1994. It includes over 80 stories and drawings. Many of our collectors have said this book expands on the laughter and lunacy of the first book, Mostly True. It includes such favorites as 'Angels of Mercy' ("Most people don't know there are angels whose only job is to make sure you don't get too comfortable & fall asleep & miss your life") and 'True Things' ("they came to sit & dangle their feet off the edge of the world & after awhile they forgot everything but the good & true things they would do someday").

One of my favorite books from Brian Andreas' StoryPeople series. And just like his others, I constantly find myself drifting between the lines and beyond the pages -- only to discover that they let me reflect upon my own thoughts and feelings.
Much in the way of Dr. Seuss' or Shel Silverstein's books, Still Mostly True epitomizes the simple things in life -- like love and laughter and memories and dreams.
Maybe the best way to sum it up would be like this:
No words can describe this book better than the words YOU use to describe the way life feels. Remember that song that you loved when you were a junior in high school?... It's like that. You bring your life to his stories.
My favorite book ever........1998-09-22
Still Mostly True is the greatest book I have ever had the pleasure of reading- it cheers me up when I am sad, inspires me when I am blocked, and reminds me to look toward the little things in life for happiness. I appreciate Brian Andreas more than he will ever know for helping me, my mother, and my roomates at college through good, bad, happy and sad times. I only wish he had fifteen books like this one. I would never stop smiling!
Brian Andreas is my new favorite poet........1998-07-21
I have long been a collector of poetry, from Blakely and Browning to Rod McKuen (who I enterviewed twice for a literary magazine), but it has been a long time since I was so impressed with a poet. Brian Andreas is a sensitive soul who captures thoughts with humor and truth; he seems to say exactly what you have always thought, but never could quite find the right words yourself. Every page of this book is profound and exquisitely true.

A fun collection of poems, drawings and statements. Many will apply to things going on in all satges of adult life such that I found inspiration for a number of things depending on when I reread it and what was going in my life at the time.

Navy SEAL Jack Singer attended his sister, Lisa's wedding, giving her away. He developed a hot passion for Lisa's best friend, Melanie Patterson, during the two weeks before the wedding. After a night of hot sex Jack got a recall and had to leave Melanie and report for duty. Gone for fifteen months.
You guessed it! Jack returns home after 15 months of wondering if Melanie will see him again. She has had his six month old daughter.
Due to his upbringing he insists on marriage so that his daughter will have his name and not be considered illigetimate. Melanie refuses as she wants more than just names on a paper. Until she experiences the disparaging remarks made by other people against her daughters birth.
The whole intrigueing way Jack worms his way back into Melanie's distrustful heart is really endearing. He works hard to teach Melanie to trust again. Of course, his falling in love with his daughter, Juliana, doesn't hurt one bit.
Wonderful story, wonderful characters [very realistic problems]as Melanie gathers the strength to face Jack's lifestyle and her love for him.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED -- Add this one to your collections.

I am totally awed by Chris Walley's talent! I love Tolken, and it is wonderful to see his style reflected by Walley. The smoothness, clarity, and detail are fantastic and make the story come alive. His characters are believable, which is a great accomplishment in a fantasy setting where sometimes the strangeness of the setting builds a wall between the reader and the characters. Some people complain about this book starting out slow. That is true, but necessary. The reader gets a good, solid introduction to the world and characters which causes the rest of the book to flow smoothly. Science fiction fans and anyone who calls themself a writer will enjoy studying the excellent style of this suspenseful portrayal of the battle between good and evil.

I honestly don't see the draw of this book. I got it based on all the 5-star reviews. First of all, it took me forever to get to any kind of action! I was so bored, I read three other books in the mean time. It is an interesting concept, but the language is bumpy and weird, the descriptions overbearing, the concepts repeated page after page, and the action is non-existent until the last 4 or 5 chapters. Disappointing. I'm surprised I got this far. If it had been a library book, I would have returned it by now.

This book is an addictive opener to an excellent story.
Don't be misled by the "Teen Fiction" label as I am a 40+ attorney and thought it was great. The plot is good, the character development is done well and, of course, the basis for the story is excellent.

This was one heck of a good book! Walley uses such a brand new, fresh approach in his sci-fi that it is a very original masterpiece. Man, if you are sick of the same old boring sci-fi cliches, I can tell ya, this book is one incredibly new voyage.
Nonstop action with a very unique storyline and plot, sparkling dialogue and well developed characters make for a great tale. I hafta admit that it is slow in the beginning, but once you are through the beginning, the plot soars! A NEW EXPERIENCE.

Chris Walley has brilliantly crafted a fully realized futuristic sci-fi / fantasy epic for young people and adults. The well thought out characters, compelling situations, and sweeping landscapes will keep the reader immersed, excited, and thoughtfully challenged. Regardless of individual background, an inspiring story of good and evil and the difficult decisions, sacrifices, and mistakes made in times of trouble will be richly revealed with each passing page. With the battle for hearts and minds in our own culture, both on an internal and external level, Mr. Walley's imagined world resonates provokingly with our own changing world. There is much to keep coming back to in "The Lamb Among the Stars" series, and readers will doubtless be reflective after finishing each book, as well as excited to find out what happens next! In a genre where there just doesn't seem enough of this type of literature, more from the imagination of this fresh, new author is anxiously awaited!

Book Description
This book has a dual purpose. The first is to present a biography of Yamato Ichihashi, a Stanford University professor who was one of the first academics of Asian ancestry in the United States. The second purpose is to present, through Ichihashi’s wartime writings, the only comprehensive first-person account of internment life by one of the 120,000 persons of Japanese ancestry who, in 1942, were sent by the U.S. government to “relocation centers,” the euphemism for prison camps.
Arriving in the United States from Japan in 1894, when he was sixteen, Ichihashi attended public school in San Francisco, graduated from Stanford University, and received a doctorate from Harvard University. He began teaching at Stanford in 1913, specializing in Japanese history and government, international relations, and the Japanese American experience. He remained at Stanford until he and his wife, Kei, were forced to leave their campus home for a series of internment camps, where they remained until the closing days of the war.

Detailed and exhaustive book by/about Ichihashi who came to the US from Japan in 1984 at the age of 16 to study. He graduated from Stanford, got a Ph.D. from Harvard, became a professor at Stanford. He and his wife and son "relocated" to Santa Anita and then Tule Lake and then Granada (Amache) during WWII. He became embittered and an elitist during the war years, which is told in a very dramatic albiet exhaustive fashion in the book via his letters. Following relocation he and his wife returned to a very different Stanford University and environs, which he found very difficult to cope with. Very enjoyable book, personal as well as historical.
Vital contribution to Asian American and internment history.......1999-05-21
Though long and at times cumbersome to read, this is a valuable addition to the literature in Asian American and World War II internment history. Yamato Ichihashi is an all but forgotten figure who has left a written record of his internment experience as he lived it, making this book a rare and important piece that all students of the internment should read. At the same time, this book belongs to the body of literature in Asian American social history. Who knew that in the early 1900s, Stanford University had a Japanese American professor among its faculty? What kind of life did he lead considering his anomalous position as an academic compared to other Japanese in America and the intense anti-Asian atmosphere of those times in the West? How does knowledge of this man's life enrich our understanding of Asian American history and American history at large? All of those questions are satisfyingly answered. Ichihashi's writings take center stage in the book, but Chang provides lucidly written annotations and a bibliographic essay that make the volume quite readable and enjoyable. Chang allows Ichihashi's words to speak for themselves which allows the reader to get a very vivid picture of life in the internment camps. In addition, reading his thoughts about his circumstances as an academic, a professor at Stanford, and an internee offer rare and revealing insights.

Finding God's Love is part II of a trilogy of books by Ethan Walker III (my father), including the Mystic Christ, and Soft Moon Shining. In the difficult to understand world of devotion and sudden miraculous opening to the divine "wine", we now have a concise manual to help guide the way. Infused with helpful concepts, stories, and even personal poetry, the book is a smorgasborg of divine love chocolates. Ample quotes and well written/organized topics deliver the "fragrant gold" of God's unlimited love to the seeking reader. Devotion is revealed. Knowledge is the light. This is an excellent sourcebook for the student seeking to understand how the California Missions were decorated. Neuerburg, who restored many paintings at San Juan Bautista, carefully describes the details of classic mission churches. Photographs and paintings of now lost works of Mission art make this a valuable resource for those assigned to build and decorate a model Mission as a Fourth Grade California History assignment.

I think Ms. Skinner has a lot of talent but I was disappointed in the projects. I wanted some advice to use on different areas of my house but the projects in the book were really unique and not applicable, I believe, to most people. It was not a book I would order again.

If I wanted to paint something metallic, this would be the book I would go to for instructions . If I hadn't just bought a bunch of other interior decoration books, I would have bought this one. The projects were very creative and inspiring and surprisingly untacky. This book would be a fun addition to any design junkies library.

It has a wide variety of projects, easy to understand technical info, instructions and tools listed in great detail.
Bonus:
Several pages of color swatches for every type of paint effect and metallic color imaginable.
Minus:
If you were expecting 70's metallic wallpaper, don't buy this book.

Though I have numerous books about decorative finishes, this is the only one that focuses on metal effects. It is packed with fresh ideas and techniques not seen elsewhere. While many other books focus on cute floral or antique looking interiors, there are many projects here with a clean, modern, metallic look, along with classical styles as well.
There are over 15 projects including a faux-gold wall, aluminum wall paneling, metallic-effect patterned floor tiles, mesh lampshade with metal accents, Moroccan-style shutters, a steel-effect column and an incised gesso plaque. Each project includes a materials list, and step-by-step instructions accompanied by photos. A discussion of the project and large photo of the finished design is included as well.
Technical information is included in the back. There is a photograph of just about every tool and material you will use. The author also guides you seamlessly through preparing size and gesso. Very Surprised.......2007-10-18
I hesitated before buying this book because of the things I had heard and I could really care less what Nas and/or Jay-Z do/did. I saw Carmen on Wendy Williams' show and although I respected the way she spoke up for herself when Wendy started bashing her; for some reason I didn't like her. I thought she was a Karrine Steffans copycat.
After reading the book I completely changed my mind. I actually respect the way she presented herself in print, I didn't feel like she was trying attack anyone or make anyone look stupid like the other book I read about hollywood "escapades". I also didn't feel like she was trying sleep her way into Hollywood. I thought the book was well written and I respected the way she delt w/ the Kelis situation even though she should have left him alone the first time he started seeing other women.
As a mother of two it really broke my heart to read the way she used the many abortions as a means of birth control. I wish she would have learned the first time and took better precautions. I really didn't like Nas before reading the book and after reading the book (considering the things she said were all true), I really don't like him still. Overall I thought the book was pretty good and I was pleasantly surprised at the content.

interesting is all i can say everyone is human and even rap stars still have issues only they have issues and money i commend her for putting her buisness out there but i would not want my female child to read this about me later on in life gosh somethings are left unsaid and if you are in need of money then use your bright smarts to go about it a different way life would be so easier,and also i would never want the whole world to know that i did not respect my body enough that i put out here about so many pregnancy terminations thats the whole part that sucks about this book strap it up are just plain old keep your legs closed.

I enjoyed it, the thing was I wanted to know more about NaS and not her, the only reason why I got it was b/c of him. since i'll never marry him I wanted to know what it would be like to be with him. I sure am glad I got this book at the library and didn't pay any money for it because the time I spent reading it was a waste.
Strong woman? Not even close. Drama queen? Yep.
It is pretty easy to predict she will continue to live her life with the same behavior she describes in her book. Irresponsible.
