Book Description

Jerry Cornelius is an English assassin, physicist, rock star, and messiah to the Age of Science. Written between 1965 and 1967, this sequence of four novels relating Cornelius’s adventures has been credited with inspiring dozens of writers and artists to rethink the genre of science fiction. Acclaimed British author Michael Moorcock’s time-tripping antihero is one of the great achievements in modern fantastic literature. This is the first U.S. publication of one of the most influential sagas in postmodern sci-fi.

4 out of 5 stars Eternal Champion a-Go-Go.......2005-08-06

Between the EC's earliest incarnations as Corum, Urlich or Elric of Melnibone, and the final, totally insane finished product dancing with the Iron Orchid at the end of time, Jerry Cornelius reveals the most contemporary, most adolescent facet of the same, singular character. That character seems to be, to all observers of social evolution, a Mod; some product of the nineteen-sixties between Beatnicks and Hippies, although the scene is undeniably post-apocalyptic. Mad Max in Londontown sums it up pretty well.

Anemia and albinism take many guises, different and unique from one timeslip to the next throughout the multiverse - which, by the way, is not a Moorcock invention, but goes back to Heinlein's works from the late fifties and early sixties. Moorcock uses the concept of the Multiverse better than anyone else since Heinlein, though, and pays the Grand Master further homage in tiny, needlegun-like ways. The only other similarity between the two that I will mention is that Heinlein was nearly pure sci-fi, with only "Glory Road" being wholly sword-and-sorcery unto itself; The Cornelius Chronicles do the reverse for Moorcock, taking the sword-and-sorcery of the EC deeper into pure sci-fi than many S&S fans are able to delve. I digress; whether or not Una Person is the Iron 0rchid or the Honorable Jaggedd is Mick Jagger, Jerry is most certainly both Elrik and the Demented Carnelian.

Any more-than-casual reader of Moorcock can tell you that there will be an Eternal Champion until the end of time. That's what "eternal" means. Duh! The earliest kingdoms of pre-humanity knew him; the decadant remnants of civilization will know him; and somewhere in the middle, in the not-too-distant-future, where the best of sci-fi lives, and closest to our own epoch than any other of the EC's accounts penned by Moorcock, there is Jerry Conrelius.

5 out of 5 stars A little imagination helps .......2005-03-16

So if a little imagination helps, consider what it's like when your imagination is unreined. No reason to let a little reality stand in your way. And when the forms are constrained, it only somehow heightens the free play. Reinvention of self has rarely gone so far. Jerry's or yours.

Moorcock wrote about these stories: "Part of my original intention with the Jerry Cornelius stories was to 'liberate' the narrative; to leave it open to the reader's interpretation as much as possible - to involve the reader in such a way as to bring their own imagination into play."

These chronicles are among my favorite literary works. Each is a different literary experiment. Transform the mundane, don't let it run you down. How cool can you be? How important can you be? How intriguing can the folks you hang out with? Only Jerry seems to know. Let him show the way. Profound? Well, it's at least great, incredibly well-written fun.

Read "Dancers at the End of Time" if you want to see how well Moorcock can construct a "traditional" story. But if you want to see Moorcock's talent unleashed, give The Cornelius Quartet a try.

5 out of 5 stars Moorcock's fabulous sf.......2003-06-01

This is Moorcock's most ambitious work. Certainly his most honest. There are a million and one experiments in literature here, not all of which come off. But according to Schopenhauer the errors of geniuses are worth a hundred truths of lesser mortals. (Or something like that.) The fact that Moorcock provides the most visceral experiences in the sort of fabulous sf universe his brain inhabits means that even when he's mistaken his point is well taken. (For a similar world, see Zelazny's stuff.) The characters of this book will live forever. Even though he's not a household word like Tolkien or Rowling he certainly will be some day. Keep your chin up Mike, the zombies will get the point eventually.

5 out of 5 stars Here we go again.......2003-03-12

It's been argued that these books were an angry/funny response to the Vietnam War and certainly the second story A Cure For Cancer refers a lot to Vietnam. What is particularly interesting about it, however, is how it refers to the PRESENT
situation. The Administration's rationales for going into Vietnam and the military's rationales for staying there are here transported to Europe. And that's no doubt what makes the books so relevant to the immediate situation we have at the moment with Europe refusing America's rationales for going to war and the Administration reacting with an aggressive, bullying tone. The ways in which imperial adventuring are cloaked in the language of 'saving the natives' are clearly shown here. Moorcock takes the experience of British imperialism and equates it with American imperialism. He does it all, of course, with irony and black humor which gets more and more sophisticated as the series continue. The Final Program is the weakest of the books, though it parodies 60s slang rather than parroting it, and has subtleties rarely found in US fiction of the day. These books were of their time and half a century AHEAD of their time and the way in which Moorcock reveals the underbelly of his society as well as the
postures of his main character are brilliant. Unquestionably, some of the very best experimental and influential fiction of our time! Recommended at every level -- fun, funny, fantastic and literary. I would also recommend Moorcock's very latest Cornelius novella, Firing the Cathedral, with its introduction by Alan Moore.

5 out of 5 stars Stunningly good.......2002-06-24

I found this one of the most amazing books I have ever read. After the first one, which is fairly straightforward though written with a sardonic humor, they get better and better, with more and more information adding to your first impression, rather like a good movie by Lynch, say. Don't expect anything like you've read before, even if you've read other Michael Moorcock titles. The first one deals with Jerry Cornelius's quest for revenge and the microfilm which contains the information to make the 'final program' of the title -- a computer program which will put the sum of human knowledge into a single, self-reproducing human being. The second one, A Cure for Cancer, changes pace and style and has direct reference to the Vietnam War, set in a London which has been taken over by American 'military advisors', who are occupying Europe. Here Jerry also visits America and meets Indians, black power activists and so on in his search for his sister and for the black box which enables people both to change identity and travel through the multiverse, through multiple versions of our own realities, all of which bear satirical or ironic reference to the world we know. By The English Assassin Jerry is in a coffin, living dead, being traded between his enemies and friends across a Europe embroiled in civil war which prefigures what has since happened in Yugoslavia, Russia and elsewhere. The style and the substance of the books matures and deepens as you go, but also the characters become more complex and interesting. We meet Bishop Beesley and his
daughter, Miss Brunner, the Thatcher-like character, Major Nye, the embodiment of idealistic imperialism and Colonel Pyat, whose story is continued in Moorcock holocaust series beginning with
Byzantium Endures.

References to both American and European history, especially imperial expansion, abound, but there are some wonderfully funny and dramatic scenes. Here you can see how much has been borrowed for whole series of comic books, movies and other novels, including Bryan Talbot's Luther Arkwright series and Grant Morrison's Invisibles series, along with a lot of alternative history series, such as Harry Turtledove's. But Moorcock is also a literary writer, so there is always much more going on.

By the time we get to the resolving volume The English Assassin, the books are making more and more sense on more and more levels.
This is probably the richest and most mature of the books and Moorcock manages a heart-rending Christmas resolution which has the same mixture of melancholy and merriment you find in the best Dickens. At last you start to understand why literary critics have likened Moorcock to a modern Dickens. Also, you realise that everything you have read up to this point can be interpreted in a TOTALLY different light. Don't expect anything like the regular sci-fi tale, however good. This is more like Pynchon or
DeLillo and can only be fully appreciated if you accept it as a literary novel, rather than the popular adventure novel it sometimes pretends to be! A genuine masterpiece and deserving of every praise it has received. I remain stunned and deeply
impressed. And I thought it wasn't possible to feel like this
from a novel any more. I'm now reading King of the City, which
is a weird kind of development from this. I'm looking forward to finding a copy of Mother London, which I'm told is even better!

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic........2005-10-11

3 short stories that took me 1 day to read. They centre round the "Sexcapades" book at Devine events. So far I have read 5 of these stories including 2 by Julie Elizabeth Leto but I read them in the wrong order. Looking for trouble (Leto) is 1st, then these 3 stories & after that Micki Carmichael's story Up to no good is last. Micki is the twin of Rory from Looking for trouble. I don't no if there are any more of these Sexcapades stories out there but i'm going to try & find out. I love them, they are fantastic.

5 out of 5 stars His Every Fantasy was perfect!.......2005-06-28

This was a very good story. I like Janelle Denison stuff.

It was along the lines of Lori Foster's "Annie Get Your Guy"... sort of... Here's my own version of what this story was about~
Jace Rutelage is a long time friend of Leah Burton's family. He's had the hots for her for awhile now, but with an alcoholic mother, and having a father who skipped town when Jace was just a kid, it's caused Jace to be weary and insecure, esp. where relationships are concerned. Even though he's brought himself out of the slums, owning his own thriving garage, he still feels unworthy of the classic beauty Leah.

But when she comes to him with a favor, a favor that has his insides heating and his blood pumping, he's more than willing to prove he's the man for the job.

Leah has gotten a marriage proposal. She should be thrilled, elated, to have a handsome man like Brent ask her to be his wife. But, when there's not even the least hint of sexual sparks she's worried. Worried she's lacking in what it takes to turn a man on. So, she enlists the help of her good friend Jace. What Jace doesn't know is that this is her chance to quench a thirst that Leah's had for the sexy rugged man for as long as she could remember.

But when her heart becomes involved, Leah is even more reluctant to marry cold-fish Brent. What's a girl to do? Steal an episope from the book "Sexcapades" and perform for Jace, in the hopes that she'll be all the woman he could ever want... of course!

This was a fun story with some sexy love scenes and endearing characters...

2 out of 5 stars Promising concept fizzles out.......2003-11-02

It's difficult to be captured by stories that seem to have been rushed. The whole Sexcapades thing was a promising concept, but the stories fail to deliver the amount of romance and eroticism that said concept required. All three novellas lack story development. The characters jump into the sack before the reader gets to know them. There's no building of sexual or romantic tension. Janelle Denison is one of my favorite erotic romance writers, but His Every Fantasy is an enormous disappointment. I couldn't finish Carly Phillips's Going All the Way. The aforementioned novella had more cliches than the average romance novel. Vicki Lewis Thompson's Illicit Dreams is passable, albeit insubstantial. All in all, Invitations to Seduction is a feeble effort. I'll stick to Kensington Brava anthologies from now on.

1 out of 5 stars What A Waste...........2003-07-23

....of paper, talent and time. I like all 3 authors but not in this. I could almost feel the pressure they were under to write the required number of words and get in the required number/style of sex scenes. Of the 3 stories, I liked the middle one the best. The last one was ridiculous. The first one had no plot at all and the other 2 were hard pressed to come up with one.

It was all to fit around the sex scenes. The sex is boring to read about. How can that be? I love a good erotic story but these definitely are not that. I think that's why the whole Blaze line leaves me cold. It's mostly sex without passion, love, caring or any other emotion a romance novel should have. Oh, the words are in there but you just don't feel them. ...

Frankly, I didn't care about any of these people. ...

5 out of 5 stars three ýSexcapadesý tales are all hot, exciting and fun.......2003-07-08

"Going All the Way" by Carly Phillips. In Chicago, Regan no longer needs the services of Divine Events since her fiancé dumped her. As the best man at his friend's wedding, Sam is in town for the nuptials. He and Regan meet at Divine Events and both feel instant desire. They share a fantasy weekend, but also fall in love. Will they recognize their feelings in time to join the mile high club as a recurring duet?

"Illicit Dreams" by Vickie Lewis Thompson. Once again her apartment neighbor Hunter awakens her with his marathon sexual performance that leaves Lindsay desiring the same from him, but is six cups to small to compete with "Silicon Sally". When Hunter makes love to Pamela, but dreams of Lindsay he knows he needs to make Lindsay his forever, but she thinks his girlfriend dumped him and refuses to be a rebound romance.

"His Every Fantasy" by Janelle Denison. Since her boyfriend seems immune to her attempts to arouse him, Leah turns to her brother's best friend Jace for sexual mentoring. Once Jace recovers from the brazen offer, he refuses for fear of destroying friendships until Leah threatens to find some other stud. Jace has loved Leah from afar for years; she reciprocates. So once in bed together, there is no turning back.

These three "Sexcapades" tales are all hot, exciting and fun. The key is that in each case the lead couples are likable in and out of the sheets. The only drawback to this anthology is that it is too hot for July beach reading so to avoid embarrassment stick to the AC (active companion).

4 out of 5 stars Second in a great series.......2003-12-29

"T2 Rising Storm" is the second book in S.M. Stirling three book series set after Terminator 2, as with the first book, Mr.Stirling does a great job in letting the reader get a clear metal image of the action taking place in the book. The pace of the book is great and able to hold the reader's attention. Overall, this is a follow-up the first book and should not be missed by any fan of the Terminator Series.

    5 out of 5 stars Part 2 of a great series!.......2003-11-08

This book is extremely easy to get into as it picks up where the last book left off. You already know most of the characters and begin with a wetted appetite for more terminators! This book is just like the first--REALLY AWESOME! I must admit that I'm an avid T fan. If you are, then read the first, and then read this one!

1 out of 5 stars Couldn't have been written by Stirling..........2003-08-24

This was a really bad book. I kept looking back at the cover to see if I could find (in small print) a co-author who had actually written it. It's hard to believe that Stirling would want to take "credit" for this turkey by himself, particularly after the Infiltrator gem. I fully concur with scifigaltx's review. It has the feel of multiple screenwriters - not necessarily authors - who have communicated their portions by email among themselves.

Has the economy sunk so deeply that the publisher has laid off all of the editors who would normally be paid to point out inconsistent points of view and motivations? Where is the reality and believability that Stirling brings to his writing? Can someone tell the real author that action sequences are most effective when they are forced upon the protagonists? Action in this nonsense is always the result of stupidity on the parts of all concerned, and is never a surprise.

The real surprise is the first awful book from S. M. Stirling. It happens to all authors, I suppose, but it's disappointing just the same.

    5 out of 5 stars T2: Rising Storm.......2003-08-20

Much as I said about T2: Infiltrator, T2: Rising Storm is a well-written sequel #2 to the second Terminator movie--Terminator 2: Judgment Day. In fact, Infiltrator and Rising Storm, written by veteran SciFi writer, S.M. Stirling, are a much better sequels to Terminator 2 than is the third movie in the series.

I had hoped, in vain as it turns out, that the next movie (Terminator 3) would follow Stirling's series. Stirling is a powerful fiction writer and his understanding of combative behavior is refreshing. (See some of his other works such as Drakon and Island In The Sea Of Time.)

This one is a good read.

1 out of 5 stars Predictable, and cliche........2003-08-10

I really can't recomend this even to people who loved Infiltrator. Which I did. I figured out how it would end less than halfway through. But then, there's the obligatory love interest, the disaproving mother, escapes that are too convenient, and the last one is by far the worst. A needless death of a loved one to turn a character from a sympathetic hero, to a hardened warrior. What a let-down. I could almost have enjoyed the book but for that last one.

Wondrously Sheltered by Dietrich Bonhoeffer is an inspiring collection of thoughtful and thought-provoking quotes taken from the Bonhoeffer's writings and which are quite nicely illustrated with photographs of intimate and vivid lands and natures. Imaging and exploring the beauties of Earth's most favorable natural environments and plants, Wondrously Sheltered provides readers with a Zen-like feeling as their emotional reasoning responds to the lyrical texts. Wondrously Sheltered is very highly recommended for readers searching for an very special gift book, a relaxing and soothing table-book, or a momentary surcease from life's daily stresses. Happiness: This is one of those moments in which one has so much to say that, really, one can only remain silent. One's heart is so full of good, peaceful, grateful thoughts and feels so sheltered from all danger and temptation that it simply would like to offer some of what it itself has so undeservedly received. -- Excerpted from Dietrich Bonhoeffer's letter to his fiancee, Christmas Eve, 1943.

4 out of 5 stars Wondrously Sheltered - less is more.......2006-03-05

Sometimes less is more. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I say one or two good words in prayer or poetry bring to mind and heart a thousand images. This is a book that one could read in ten minutes and then spend a life time with it in thought and reflection. It is not the exhoustive treatments found in "Ethics," "Letters & Papers From Prison," "Life Together," or "The Cost of Discipleship," but it is a wonderful gem of the thoughts and theology found in some of these other works. Whether this is a first intro to Bonhoeffer, or just your latest effort to dig deeper, you will find it to be meaningful and relevant to your life today. Book Description

Breathtaking landscapes filled with castles and churches, picturesque hilltop villages and, best of all, vineyards. This is the Langhe, an area in the Piedmont region of northern Italy that produces some of the world's greatest wines.

A Wine Atlas of the Langhe is a beautiful and highly informative book, produced by the international Slow Food movement, headquartered in Piedmont. For over ten years Slow Food researched the vineyards, the wines, and the history of this fascinating part of the world, including the men and women who have made the wines of the Langhe famous. The book explores the unique features of topography, soils, and climate that have enabled Barolo and Barbaresco to become recognized as two of the world's most exclusive and highly prized wines. Spectacular aerial photography shows the beauty of the fifteen municipalities profiled in the book.

"Eyewitness Reports" sprinkled throughout the book give readers a privileged insight into the rural culture and social life of the Langhe, through the words of the area's oldest residents. Chapters on The Greats of Barolo and Barbaresco detail the lives of pioneer winemakers, including growers, scholars, oenologists, cellarmen, and aristocratic entrepreneurs.

More wine is currently imported to the U.S. from Italy than from any other country. Lovers of Italy or its classic wines will treasure this beautiful book. Travelers to Piedmont will find many recommendations for the best vineyards to visit, as well as the best places to stay and eat while in the region.

If you're a lover of nebbiolo wines this book is a must. With relentlessly rich detail, it covers every aspect of the great wines of the Piemonte, their history, viticulture, and the people who make them.

Every major Barolo and Barbaresco vineyard is profiled, along with many of the contributors to the production of their great wines. Not only the great winemakers, past and present, but also the "regular people" involved, from grafters to vine dressers, pickers and barrel makers, even office workers and school teachers have their say. The result is a compelling picture of one of the world's greatest wine regions.

And if you ever plan a trip to the Langhe, the book features excellent advice and contact info on where to visit, what to look for, etc. A great resource.

5 out of 5 stars Wine Atlas of the Langhe.......2004-02-26

This is for the person truly devoted to details. It is the product of years of research of the Barolo and Barbaresco areas. All the vineyards are shown in detail. A definite must for any one studying wine beyond the basic level.

4 out of 5 stars Overcoming fear of polar bears.......2002-12-02

Making quilts for babies and children is of course one of the most satisfying ways quilters can show their love of family and friends. Lately, children's quilts have become something more than simple bed-coverings. Kristin Addison, living in her native Norway with twin daughters, was faced with their fears of polar bears when they moved to a new town. Not a normal fear for those of us in more southern climes, but it inspired Kristin to make a quilt embellished with toys and soft-sculptures that helped the girls act out and overcome their fears. Thus the first of her "play quilts" was born, and the rest is this book. Combining quilts with simple doll-making techniques, these projects are great fun to make and then continue to give joy through their playful interactive qualities. Themes of the projects include outer space, the farm, a pirate ship, an animal train, and many others. Cute original ideas, great instructions, templates and great photography.

5 out of 5 stars Fabulous, fun to make! Wonderful!.......2002-04-09

This book is quite simply fantastic! I am currently half-way through making the Pirate Ship quilt, and my daughters (ages 5 + 3) are having so much fun picking out the fabric, buttons, embellishments, and watching me at the sewing machine. The patterns in this book are fabulous -- I plan on making the Lunar Landing quilt next, especially since I've found some perfect fabric for it and have enjoyed making the Pirate Quilt thus far. I'm an intermediate-level quiltmaker in a local quilt guild, but this book explains everything so even a beginner can have excellent results. I cannot say enough good things about these patterns. Ingenious, really: the patterns incorporate movable/ removable items as well as permanent items, so the child can truly play with the quilt. Imagination and creativity at its finest! Hats off to the author and designer! Well done!

5 out of 5 stars If you know a little child, buy this book.......2001-10-19

This book is an absolute "must have" for anyone who knows and cares for a little one! The author Kristin Kolstad Addison has designed five fabulous quilts with a a lot of accessories for children to play with. The guidelines in the book are easy to understand, the patterns easy to follow. The author has included quite a few tips to make it even easier.
A few weeks ago I was able to see two of the quilts "live", and they were even more charming than in the pictures. These quilts are suitable for the floor as well as the wall, but are not meant as interior decorations: Do not expect that your little one will leave these quilts alone! Before you know what happened, the gift you made from one of the projects in this book will generate a lot of new adventures. Or even better - make the quilt together with the recipient. Then you'll have more fun, too! The quilts are equally suitable for boys and girls.

I bet that at any given moment, somebody, somewhere, is writing a Master's thesis called something like "I'd Like To Solve the Puzzle: B-Celebrities and Why We Love Them".

From the very get-go in chapter 1, when Vanna tells you how she does her sit-ups then gives you instructions to make her favourite afghan, right to page 190, at the very end, when Vanna shamelessly plugs McDonald's, Spring Air mattresses, and Nestle's chocloate (and including more than 32 pages of photos inbetween!), I thought this book was brilliant and brainless. Apparently, just after this book was shortlisted for the Man Booker in early 1987, some scandalous, unauthorized photos of Vanna were published in Playboy.

Do not get this book because you are looking for a literary masterpiece. Buy this book because you are a Wheel of Fortune fan! How many of us can say that we are the best in the world at what we do? There is no question, Vanna is the world's best letter turner (now letter presser). She performs her job with a fluidity of motion that no other letter turner can approach. Yes, there are others who do this. I have seen substitutes for Vanna on Wheel of Fortune, and Wheel of Fortune equivalent shows in other countries. (The most amusing is the Hungarian version where there are more vowels than consonants.) Vanna is the best.

I have to admit to some level of prejudice. I met Vanna when I appeared on WOF as a contestant. The answers to your three questions are: (1) $55,618, (2) the money is taxed as income, (3) Vanna is very nice, but we do not keep in touch.

5 out of 5 stars excellent afghan book.......2002-10-07

This book was the first of a big collection, and it remains one of my favourites. Has gifts for everybody. The projects are beautiful, well explained and with detailed pictures. I've done several afghans and they all turned out perfect. I would recommend it to everyone from beginner to expert level. I also bought Vanna's afghans all through the house, also a great book.

                5 out of 5 stars Vanna's Favorites.......2000-12-09

This book contains some of the most innovative afghan patterns I've ever seen. I specifically purchased it after searching for a double wedding ring afghan pattern. It turned out to be simply the most gorgeous afghan I've ever seen. Quite challenging for a relative novice like myself.

The variety of afghans in this book is wonderful. The pictures are clear, the instructions simple to understand. It's very inspiring book.

I checked this book out at the library and loved it, bought this one and her other 2 afghan books. Has varying levels of difficulty. Designs are beautiful and very motivating. The designs will not be outdated. Perfect gift for the crochet lover!

                5 out of 5 stars A Must-Have Afghan Pattern Book.......2000-01-31

I am so pleased with this book. I am on a constant search of imaginative, unique patterns from doilies to afghans, and this book does fit the bill. I have always been a fan of any Vanna patterns, I have the entire binder she puts out, and have done many things out of it. I like the way the patterns are written, they are very clear. One note of caution: Vanna patterns that I know of do not have difficulty levels noted, and they do vary quite a bit from beginner to advanced. You will have no problem if you are intermediate or up, but may have a few if you are a beginner.

Great thing about this is the patterns can be adapted to different yarns and hook sizes. I'm and Intermediate crocheter and have experienced great success with these patterns as gifts. I go through the book and can find something for each person on my gift list!

This is a great book all around. There are often two pictures of each afghan; a full size view and a close up view which is helpful in viewing stitches. There are so many worthwhile projects in this book from baby afghans and a full size cat motif to kitchen placemats. All skill levels are present. Some of the easy ones (very easy) are also very beautiful. Color stitch guide at end of book. The best part: the exact Lion Brand yarn (with color name and number) used to make each afghan is listed at the bottom of the page. At the end of the book all the different types of yarns are explained along with an 800 number for ordering. You can also find all that you need under the Lion Brand Website. I am so eager to make many of these afghans. I am nearly done my first one and have bookmarked about a half dozen more.

5 out of 5 stars great pattern book.......2000-11-13

I've been crocheting most of my life, and this book had the most veriety I've ever seen (and afghans I'd actually make). The work is beautiful and will keep you busy for a very long time. Don't be afraid to change yarns from the recommended, or change colors to suit your taste: I use worsted weight instead of chunky (don't like using chunky yarn). This book includes easy patterns and more complex patterns - I would recommond it for any crocheter.

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful afghans that are fun to crochet........1999-11-09

I love this book, and her other book "A to Z." They both are filled with beautiful afghans that I know I will be crocheting for years to come. These are not your "grandmother's" afghans, but gorgeous designer styles. The instructions are written very clearly, and there are projects for both beginners and advanced crocheters.

5 out of 5 stars "You have to know the alphabet.".......2000-06-13

You've seen the TV show and read the book. Now get the book on tape. Vanna underestimates her own talent. "You have to know the alphabet", she says. If you have always wondered - what is Vanna really like (see answer number 3, below), this is the tape for you. It is fifty minutes of pure Vanna.

Do not get this tape because you are looking for a literary masterpiece. Buy this tape because you are a Wheel of Fortune fan!
