I thought that this book was excellent! As a fellow short person, I could relate to the story wonderfully! I have felt the same feelings that she felt, it was almost like a mirror was held up to my life. Well except for the when the book took place I can't believe how awesome this book was! Now perhaps people will look at the midgets and think that they are real people too, not just disformed humans. you should read this book. It was the best book I ever read. I hope that everyone reads this book so that people everywhere can get to know the hardships that we face in our day to day lives. This book really educated my friends on how hard life can be. I can only hope that others will do the same thing.

Memoirs Of A Midget by Walter de la Mare is a fictional memoir of Miss M, a diminutive young woman (exactly how diminutive is left up to the reader's interpretation!), who grows up in an orphanage and eventually falls in love with a full-sized woman even as she is courted by a male dwarf. The daily travails of Miss M, with the unique obstacles presented by her size difference, lead to her resolve to claim independence by offering herself as a spectacle in a circus. An engagingly told, wry yet witty read, Memoirs Of A Midget is a unique and inherently fascinating novel from beginning to end.

That was not an ending.......2006-09-25

This book was written over 15 years ago so I'm assuming no sequel is forthcoming. As such, the ending is totally unacceptable. You read 1200 pages to get a conclusion and the whole thing ends in 2 pages. I don't mind books that are supposed to be ambiguous or mysterious at the end, but this was neither. The authors apparently decided another chapter would have been too much work. There is no payoff for the time spent reading this. Skip the series.

The best of the trilogy.......2005-12-06

This final book of the Rose of the Prophet trilogy really did it for me. All of the loose ends were wrapped up and the mysteries revealed. While some people seem to think that the ending wasn't satisfactory, I disagree. The book ends with a pretty clear picture of what the future holds for the characters and the resolution of the plot was complete. This was my favorite book of the trilogy because of the fast pace and intense action. While the first two books seemed a bit drawn out and slow due to the neccesities of character and plot development, this book was right to the point and brought the whole trilogy to an exciting climax.

In my opinion, this final volume makes the whole trilogy really worth reading. While not Weis and Hickman's best story that I've read, I still enjoyed it very much.

This is the best series of Margaret Weiss. The characters sizzles. I love PUKAH. This series has adventure ,romance, funny moments all wrapped into one. Done very very simultaneously. Unlike other fantasy books, Margaret Weiss style is light , touching, deep n most of all easy to understand n easy to realte to. It will carry you to another world.

It will be short. A great sieres but i didn't like the ending. It was too realistic for my taest. I know a lot of people who like it and the book was realy great but i didn't like the ending

THe warship art was horrible the original 2750 book warship art was alot better but the rest of the book was good well except the aerospace fighters since it gave only basic stats on them. We now need an aeorspace technical readout.

FASA put this TR out years ago. They should follow it up with a revised edition of the Battlespace Boxed Set. The material is more complete in scope than most FASA TR products and really adds to the game. Battlemechs no longer rule the Battlefield. If you think they do, ask victims of an orbital bombardment about that nasty warship in orbit.

The BEST book in my entire library!.......2007-04-26

I can't say enough about Mr. Gordon's book. His stories are timeless. He is not the least bit "preachy" but it is very hard to put this book down without taking some important life lesson from it. "The Night The Stars Fell" is a good chapter, but every chapter in there is simply awesome. I find myself skipping from one chapter to an entirely different one, totally out of sequence, and that's fine for me. I find what works, what's important to me in my challenges this week, and that is the beauty of this book.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. This describes this lovely book in just one sentence, but as I enjoy elaborating, here are some things you will find in it:

Don't buy this book if you are looking for cake, muffins, and cookie receipes. This cookbook is 90% fruit receipes. I had much better luck with Sandra Woodruff's Fat Free Baking Book. I am returning this book because there is nothing in it I would make. By the way..I am getting rave reviews on Sandra Woodruff's receipes! All fat free!

A Total Waste!.......2003-03-25

I found this book to be a total waste of time. A good portion of it is pictures of her dolls, which are not by any means noteworthy examples. The instructions she gives are so rudimentary as to be worthless. There are no good "how-to" photos accompanying the text. But what disturbs me the most is that the instructions she gives for removing green ear can severely damage the face paint on vintage Barbies. All in all, a total waste of time and money.

This is a very helpful little guide for getting started with restoring your old childhood favorites. Since my old dolls and toys have been stuffed into cardboard boxes for almost 20 years, this informative book showed me where to begin. It's easy to follow with both practical and creative ideas. A wonderful hobby for those who are children at heart!

great doll fix up book.......2002-04-01

This book was excellent for fixing up old dolls found in attics
and at flea markerts. It was not too complicated for basic beginners but the easy to follow steps really made a difference
in the dolls appearance and value. It is not meant to take the
place of a professional doll restoration which takes years of
practice and special materials. It is for using products in every
home that everyone has. GREAT READ FOR EVERYONE !!!!!

I have found "From Worn to Wonderful" an excellent source of restoration information. I had no clue on what to do before I read this book. This book provided helpful hints for the beginner.

Brilliant, especially for its price........2007-06-12

I'm an actor by trade, and recently got to perform with the Rogue Artists Ensemble, a magical group of madmen, in a production based on Neil Gaimon & Dave McKean's graphic novel THE TRAGICAL COMEDY OR COMICAL TRAGEDY of MR. PUNCH in Los Angeles.

To research the role of a Punch and Judy professor, I bought 6 books on puppeting...this hands down gave the most useful information for the least amount of money. Completely unpretentious. Enough detail to get you started to build and work with hand puppets and keep you busy for a year.

If you want a more in depth book, try PUPPETS AND PUPPET THEATRE
by David Currell, another wonderful book, but not one you can breeze through. Combine them on the same bookshelf would be my best suggestion.

simple puppetry.......2007-03-30

This book is really easy to understand even though it's not pretty. The diagrams are black and white sketches but they're surprisingly understandable. I didn't realize how simple making a puppet could be before reading this book. The book has diagrams, simple instructions and also little plays that go along with the puppets. When my husband and I have time (ha ha - we have a 14 month old) we plan to make some of these.
