Greenman showcases his abilities as a writer in this selection of newer and older pieces. I hope a novel is forthcoming from this brilliant young author. Greenman transcends the finest writers of his generation with his humor and his irony as well as with his sympathetic exploration of human emotions.

Rohan and Sioned's son Pol is of the grown up variety now, and he gets to start doing the fantasy adventure thing himself.

Star scrolls, dragons, other and different opposing types of magic, the odd concerned parent, a girl or two are some of the things he has to deal with.

Good conclusion for the sunrunner series.......2006-08-22

Before you read this (vol 3), read "The Dragon Prince" and the "Star Scroll" also by Rawn.

Finally the politics are settled by confrontations, including battles between the Sunrunners and their ancient sorcerous enemies, the Stone-burners. This is a worthy finish for the trilogy, and if you liked the first two, you won't be disappointed.

I'd recommend stopping here and avoiding the "Dragon Token" trilogy which follows this one. That series takes place years later and focuses on different characters I liked less.

This is one great book. It sparks an urge in you to become a great sunnrunner. This book is greatly written and is a great conclusion to the Dragon Prince series. It also features the maturation of the great Lord Andry.

Rawn's Best.......2002-07-08

I would have to say that this book is even better than The Star Scroll. First of all she labeled her chapters with dates which kept the order of things. Also the plot ran smoothly along with from the first page to the last. I have one thing to say to disagree with another person's idea of Rohan's character he is not "faultless". Uh he liked had a very hard life and he has many trips along the road of life along with that his son was not even from his own wife. So when you review a book read it please.

The author, William Elliot is someone you might know, the boy living next door, who went away to the University, whose parents died when he was young, someone who was raised by loving parents, that is, until they died when he was a teen. He keeps alive the values and love his parents showed him but he is searching for something. He is looking for meaning - meaning to their death and his loss. He was a psychology major at the University of Wisconsin when he conceived of interviewing the "wise and spiritual" people who are alive today. His method was deceptively simple ... he sought answers to 25 - 30 questions that might unlock the secrets to his dilemma. Questions such as, "What is the meaning or purpose of life?" "Do you believe in G-d or Ulitmate Reality?" "Why is there suffering, evil in the world? and What is its cause?" "What is important to you?" "What are the three most important problems in life?" He was dissuaded from pursuing this endeavor, to write a book about his conversation with the "wise and spiritual" people whom he interviewed. I used this book for a study session with 10 other people (common everyday Christians). Most felt that the language was a little bit above their understanding, and many had to really "work" at trying to understand what was being said. Over all I thought that the book gave a very good overview of perspectives that most Christians don't want to engage. Elliott was interesting, and I think that the average person would get lost in most of the interviews because of the language barriers if they weren't familiar with many terms and different religions and or spiritual sources used in this book. It was a little long and I am not sure if anything was resolved, but, we never though we would find the answer in this book. I just hope Mr. Elliott grew from and through it.

This book took the author a long time to finish and just the project itself is an inspiration. The resulting product is a wonderful heart warming book. I got this book from the library and in the end had to buy it. You should too.

A Very Nice Book... A Dream For The Collector.......2001-08-08

As one who has collected these things for years, it certainly does bring pride to me to see everything in my collection presented in this beautiful full-color book. The illustrations are large and beautiful, but I was a bit disappointed to see not everything was displayed outside of its packaging. While I don't mind photos of the packaging, I wish everything in the book could have been shown outside of the packaging for consistency.

Those who purchase this book should understand that it does not list variants. There are far too many to account for them all anyway. The prices are a joke-- one must wait at least a decade or two for the prices to stablize. As I understand it, the author was forced to do add pricing under pressure from the publisher, so forgive the pricing inaccuracies.

Although the book is a fairly complete reference of Playmates Star Trek toys, there are just a few items missing. For example, I could not find an entry for the 12" Q figure. However, such omissions are few and far between. Buy this book if you collect Playmates Star Trek toys. It is worth checking out if you are a toy collector and missed out on seeing the beauty of this line.

I recently acquired this book and found it to be misrepresented. On the back the author states, "Playmates Toys produced Star Trek toys-action figures, accessories, and starships-in great abundance throughout the 1990s, beginning in 1992, and this book chronicles each and every one of them." This book DOES NOT chronical each and every one of them. It is missing various action figures released not only in the USA, but from abroad as well. In addition, there are many accessories and playsets that were not "chronicled" as well. Moreover, the values of each item are way off as well. What one personally pays for an item or what a secondary retailer is asking for them are not an accurate represenation of what these toys are worth.

In any case, while the book gave us colored pictures and its design was good it is only a good reference. A bit overpriced, but a good reference source nonetheless. I would certainly use it alongside other Star Trek handbooks and price guides in order to get an accurate reference of the entire toy line by Playmates (as well as others) and their values.

Best Star Trek Toy Book Ever!.......2001-01-16

Don't let Amazon fool you this book is new and AVAILABLE! (It just came out in June 2000.)

It is the best source out there for people who collect Trek Action figures, ships and accessories made by Playmates. It covers the entire line from 1992 to the end in 2000. Images of all products, plus descriptions of accessories that came with the toys and a price guide. One of the more nicely done collectibles guides on the market today. Any Trekkie would want want for there collection.

Not quite what you're looking for.......2006-03-10

I must say I am disappointed. I was looking for a book for the amateur gilder, and I got a book for the gilding hobbyist. This book teaches you to gild objects around the home (i.e. picture frames, tassels, and yes--even a toilet seat), but does not go any further than that. For the purposes of gilding as a hobby, this book is complete. For the purposes of practical gilding (like sculpture, architecture, and wood work), this book is lacking, and there is nothing in the book's description or title to suggest as much. So, be warned.

I think Ms. Skinner has a lot of talent but I was disappointed in the projects. I wanted some advice to use on different areas of my house but the projects in the book were really unique and not applicable, I believe, to most people. It was not a book I would order again.

If I wanted to paint something metallic, this would be the book I would go to for instructions . If I hadn't just bought a bunch of other interior decoration books, I would have bought this one. The projects were very creative and inspiring and surprisingly untacky. This book would be a fun addition to any design junkies library.

Pluses:
It has a wide variety of projects, easy to understand technical info, instructions and tools listed in great detail.

Bonus:
Several pages of color swatches for every type of paint effect and metallic color imaginable.

Minus:
If you were expecting 70's metallic wallpaper, don't buy this book.

Though I have numerous books about decorative finishes, this is the only one that focuses on metal effects. It is packed with fresh ideas and techniques not seen elsewhere. While many other books focus on cute floral or antique looking interiors, there are many projects here with a clean, modern, metallic look, along with classical styles as well.

There are over 15 projects including a faux-gold wall, aluminum wall paneling, metallic-effect patterned floor tiles, mesh lampshade with metal accents, Moroccan-style shutters, a steel-effect column and an incised gesso plaque. Each project includes a materials list, and step-by-step instructions accompanied by photos. A discussion of the project and large photo of the finished design is included as well.

Technical information is included in the back. There is a photograph of just about every tool and material you will use. The author also guides you seamlessly through preparing size and gesso. The details of water-gilding, gilding with oil and acrylic size, finishes, metal patination, and painted metallic effects are also shown. Fascinating comic book.......2006-01-01

I liked this book much more than Defechereux's coffee table Dean book, From Passion for Speed to Immortality. However, I think I'd need to be more of an expert on Dean's racing exploits to better critique such a book. What I do know about that aspect makes this little book pretty accurate, as far as I can tell, and informative. All of the artwork, the various cars, racing sequences, other people in the story etc are exceptionally well rendered with one exception: most of the drawings of Jimmy himself come off looking like Jean Claude Van Dame, not James Dean. The story of the final day and the accident is very vivid and clear as to what happened and why. The excellent drawings, at least for me, provided better insight and understanding of how events/individuals moved and transpired. Several actual photos of Dean, seperate from the comic book-style story, were new to me, like the rare shot of Jimmy attending a Japanese kendo match with Bill Bast and a lady friend, the night before his death. The author's reverance for Dean photographer Sanford Roth, and fellow Dean enthusiast and Japanese business man, Sieta Ohnishi is obvious and appreciated.I only wish someone else could've rendered James Dean's face in the animated story section...., then it'd be a great little book. However, as it is, it's definitely worth having in one's Dean collection.
