Book Description
These artful new translations of nine of Schnitzler's most important stories and novellas reinforce the Viennese author's remarkable achievement.

Mind games.......2007-03-10
Schnitzler is one of (if not the) pioneers of stream-of-consciousness prose, and his style is on full display in this collection. All of his characters are tortured souls who suffer their actions, who act out of lust and jealousy, and are uncomfortable with love and death - but accepting of them; for the former often leads to the latter, spiritually and physically. At the time these stories and novellas were written, the content, which features "moral decay", must have been quite shocking. Today, it's commonplace, obviously, but even though public scorn has been assuaged (except for the most public of figures), how the actions of those involved in affairs and other dubious (fun) behaviors play out in the mind, how each individual wrestles with his or her guilt over them is portrayed here with an authoritative pen by a master of the short form.
"Death of a Bachelor" is a masterpiece!

Illicit Love and Death in Imperial Vienna.......2002-05-29
Written in the late19th century, these stories show their age. They abound with high-class officers and lowly maidens. But in their careful search for thoughts and meanings, they presage Freudian analysis.
In ?Night Games?, Lieutenant Willi Kasda has to come up with 1?000 gulden within 24 hours. Seeing no other way, he joins a card game. But the devil in disguise is dealing the cards and the night spirals toward a disastrous ending. The description of the all-night game alone is an unforgettable piece of literature. Willi?s descent into hell is described in minute and gripping detail.
?The Dead are Silent?: Franz and Emma go for a night ride to the outskirts of town. There is an accident. leaving Emma to her own devices. How does she get home before her husband? A cliffhanger.
?Blind Geronimo and his Brother?: Geronimo and his brother Carlo are panhandlers. Geronimo plays the guitar and sings, while Carlo collects the offerings. When they were children, an accident caused by Carlo resulted in his brother?s blindness. Now Carlo sees the sole purpose of his life in caring for Geronimo. But can a blind man trust Carlo? Slowly but surely things fall apart.
?A Farewell?: Albert waits for his beloved Anna, who is closely watched by her husband. And he waits, getting more desperate by the hour and the day. What could possibly have happened? The story goes from bad to worse, carefully analyzing Albert?s frame of mind.
?The Second?: It shows us the idiocy of dueling and its code. The narrator is an almost professional second on such occasions. At the present one, Eduard Loiberger gets killed - who is to bring the news of this senseless death to Agatha, his widow? The narrator, who feels an attachment to Agatha, tries to accomplish this task.
?Baron von Leisenbogh?s Destiny?: The baron is deeply in love with Clara Hell, a singer. For ten years he follows her throughout Europe, without coming close to his goal. Will he be rewarded in the end? That is where the surprise comes in, deftly maneuvered by the author.
?The Widower?: Richard?s wife suddenly dies and he is devastated. But was she really the saint he imagined her to be? What about his best friend Hugo? And how to handle him? The solution is not exactly Freudian.
?Death of a Bachelor?: Three friends are called to the bedside of the bachelor who, however, just had died. He has left them a confession concerning the wives of each one. How do they deal with the letter? Three situations - can there be just one solution? Each friend has to examine his relation to his wife.
?Dream Story?: Fridolin and Albertine have an open marriage, telling each other what normally would be kept secret. But there is a difference. Fridolin has a nightly adventure that is quite real but sounds like a dream. He decides not to tell his wife about it. Albertine has a dream involving an unknown man and she tells her husband about it. Can Fridolin take it? Will the dream, to him, have some basis in fact?
The stories and novellas are old fashioned and may not be to everybody?s taste. They are superbly written, though, and a document to the times. Kudos also to the translator.

One of the most beautiful and powerful women in history. Cleopatra had it all. And now anyone can, too. For a price. Her secrets...her wiles... her way with men-all transplanted from her DNA.
The only problem is no one has found it yet.
The chase is on-and forensic anthropologist Leda Hubbard is leading the pack.

Intriguing idea; fascinating development.......2006-08-21
What if you could pick any person from history and, through the computerized infusion of their DNA, receive their personality - their soul, for a better word - to share your body? When a young scientist named Tsering's wife - Chime - died, he developed techology that transferred her DNA (which, as it turns out contains not only the genetic structure of a person, but their personality as well) into a computer program that implanted onto his retina, created the first "blended" person. They call themselves Chimera. Thus began the company Nucore. They enlist the aid of their friend Leda Hubbard to find Cleopatra's tomb for their friend Gretchen, who hopes to use Cleopatra's legendary charm to save her marriage. However, it seems unscrupulous forces may be at work - maybe even within Nucore itself . . .
While the technology itself, being utilized pretty much during the present day, requires a pretty hefty suspension of disbelief, the story unfolds at a rapid-fire pace, covering not only the ethics of the procedure itself, but also touching on the topics of female genital mutilation, the general treatment of women by fundamentalist Islamics, unscrupulous medical procedures and so forth. It is continued in the book Cleopatra 7.2, which I am reading right now and cannot wait to see how it concludes.
i'm no novelist..........2005-06-24
but i thoroughly enjoyed this book...if you enjoy egyptology, mythology, archeology, mystery, drama, science fiction, comedy, metaphysics, genetics, then read this book...it's a fun beach read or escape from the kids' read...it was quick to tie up loose ends and character traits and motivation was quickly explained...slightly predictable...but like i said, i'm no novelist and wouldn't begin to criticize the author's method...i read this book in 2 days...very enjoyable and would like to see it develop into a movie...kinda like indiana jones / invasion of the body snatchers hybrid...
Cloned or infected???.......2005-02-16
I'm not sure which one you'd call it. In a distant future, Nucor Technologies has invented a 'personality transplant.' Donees are implanted with the personalities of famous and infamous people from the past.
Naturally, many women want Cleopatra.
Forensic scientist and closet anthropologist Leda Hubbard and her father Duke, an ex-cop with a lot of ex-wives, are hired by Nucor to find Cleopatra. She discovers quickly enough that this isn't the safe assignment she'd expected. Many people want a transplant without Nucor's controls.
Scarborough is always fascinating whether she's writing Medieval, current day, or futuristic fantasy. She's created a world and a cast of characters that I can't fail to cheer for. The novel takes some interesting twists that leave you laughing--and thinking about what makes up a person.
(3.5) Interesting Mythos Book.......2004-11-13
I'm glad to see that there is books in the world that try and use mythology in more modern aspects. I found this book an enjoyable read to take my mind off of the world. It was an intreguing book that one wanted to finsh.
The characters where perhaps they could have been better, the plot kept you wanting to know what happens next. It might follow a tipical Sci-Fi idea, this book adds some twists and turns in it that are not atypical.
I would recommend anyone with an entrest in the genra to pick this one up and read it.
Channeling Cleopatra.......2003-11-18
Didn't like the book much, the author tried to be too girlish with her main character, and the technology was too easily believed by the other characters. Read about 1/3 and skimmed through the rest to see how it ended.

Terry Bisson was already an established and acclaimed SF-fantasy novelist when he began publishing short stories in 1990. He immediately demonstrated his promise as one of the short-SF giants of the '90s with "Bears Discover Fire" (1990), which won the Nebula, Hugo, Locus, and Theodore Sturgeon Awards, and was nominated for the World Fantasy Award. Unsurprisingly, this story provided the title of Bisson's first collection, Bears Discover Fire (1993). His second collection, In the Upper Room and Other Likely Stories, assembles sixteen lean, sharp, literate fictions. A few selections are short-shorts; some of these are slight. A few others describe lingerie in enough detail to make you wonder if you've wandered into a text-only Victoria's Secret catalog, which gets as eye-glazing as a baseball story if you don't share the interest. The stories from Playboy will also annoy some readers (especially women), since three of the four feature women characters who are software and the fourth story's female narrator is a male fantasy in drag.
Among the collection's many strong stories are "The Edge of the Universe" and "Get Me to the Church on Time," featuring the reality-bending adventures of the brilliant physicist-mathematician-meteorologist Wilson Wu. "There Are No Dead," the collection's lone fantasy, is a thoughtful, Bradbury-esque examination of childhood, change, loss, and the American dream. With a series of terse and increasingly disturbing interviews, "macs" traces the demand for victim's rights to its ironic logical extreme. "First Fire" pays tribute to Arthur C. Clarke and examines the amorality of laissez-faire capitalism in a tale of archaeological discovery, obsession, hubris, and the corruption of science. --Cynthia Ward
Book Description
From the award-winning author of Bears Discover Fire, this is a collection of stories that are clever, slick, occasionally profound, and have a broad appeal. Bisson writes entertaining and moving stories, in a strong and unique voice.
Customer Reviews:
A book this bad..........2003-08-16
...doesn't deserve to be in print. Terry Bisson has to be the absolute worst writer ever to be published. It only took three chapters from "In The Upper Room and Other Likely Stories" for me to determine that TB is completely untalented and probably got most of his ideas about writing from a weekend seminar called "Repetition is Funny or How to Say Things Until They Are Funny". I take that back, TB has one talent, and that is his talent to take a perfectly good premise and completely butcher it with his repetitive, dull and close minded style. I gave him three chances and he blew it three times in a row with the first three stories in this book. All the good ideas got mangled by his inept, sorry excuse for style. He is a one trick pony that is funny only by accident and even then not very. Mostly I found myself feeling sorry for the poor slob. Skip this book. I got it from the library and I am thinking of suing them mental anguish. Yuck yuck yuck... Avoid at all costs!
Witty, Lovely, Sad.......2001-11-04
Terry Bisson is a treasure. He writes hopeful stories about the value of childhood dreams, as in the bittersweet "There Are No Dead," where three boys find a way to literally start over. He writes subtle and depressing stories about how technology can smother modern life ("In the Upper Room," "An Office Romance," "He Loved Lucy"). His dialogue is sharp and can carry entire stories ("10:07:24," "Smoother"). And at his best he has the ability to look at our world from a slightly skewed angle that allows him to see deep and disturbing truths, as he does in the chilling "macs." These stories are lovely, funny and sad, and they will make you think. If you haven't heard of Terry Bisson, this is a good entry point into his unique point of view.
Not This Virginia.......2000-09-06
The stories in this collection vary from the profound to the wistful to the grandly comic. Among the more highly mentionable are "macs", "The Player" and "First Fire", all of which will linger in the mind long after the last page has been turned. But for me, the one that reached me the most was "Not This Virginia". Anyone who has ever had to deal with an elderly parent in decline will find something in this story. It touches the soul and says no, you are not alone. Thank you, Terry.
One of our best living writers.......2000-08-17
(The disclaimer): I've known Terry Bisson for 40 years and admired him all that time. The review): He is, hands down, one of our best writers and finest minds, and were it not for the ignorant bias that places "fantasy" literature in a sub-set of lower status, he would be recognized for what he is: an imaginative wizard, a technical genius, a superb stylist and one of the funniest guys around. I've never understood why John Updike or Saul Bellow's "fantasies" are treated as high-art and Terry's are consigned to small publishers, but hell I've never understood why athletes and movie actors make lots of money and teachers and the people who feed us, don't. This is a great book. Don't ever miss the opportunity of reading Bisson and remembering just how exhilerating a conversation with a fine mind can be.
Living Legend.......2000-05-03
Terry Bisson has created two modern masterpieces of literature. His stories will pass the test of time and will be required reading by American students in the future. The short stories contained in "In the Upper Room and other likely stories" are great additions to his vast and still growing literary feats. My strongest advice to you is not to let the chirping of a few misguided critics prevent you from reading anything written by the world's greatest living author.

Caro Baker cook book nut.......2006-08-08
This cook book was OK it just needed more recipes that had easier to use. JUst was'nt the right Pressure Cooker Cook Book for me.
The best out there.......2003-08-02
Of about 4-5 pressure cooker cookbooks I have bought, this is far and away the best one, not even an issue. The recipes are fairly simple, easy to put together, easy to find/common ingredients, and they taste great. This is what a pressure cooker should do for you. There are good general guidelines on how to cook other things as well. While there are not a whole lot of recipes in here, they are all great and easy. If you have to have one pressure cooker cookbook, this is it!
strange.......2003-01-02
I bought this book and am sending it back. The recipes were a little strange for my taste. I wanted more everyday type dishes.
Borrowed a Copy, Now Buying My Own.......2002-09-16
I've made only a few recipes from this book, but I am completely sold on it. I became a big pressure cooker fan after the first recipe. The flavors are delicious (lentil soup is my favorite), and they are so simple! I feel like I am providing a very nutritious meal for my family--all the nutrients stay in the pot and it keeps my kitchen so clean. I can saute in the cooker, then cook the whole meal--so little clean-up, and the meals are eye-appealing, wholesome and delicious. Highly recommended.
Very good recipes.......2002-02-21
I have liked every recipe I've tried in here so far. I just bought my first pressure cooker recently, and it is quite impressive how tender the meats turn out when you cook them using this method.
The Greek Beef Stew has very rich taste and a variety of spices. We eat it on a bed of rice. Try the Chicken in Vinegar, Beef Stroganoff, Pork Chops Stuffed with Apples and Jambalaya. Note on the Jambalaya - this tastes great, but you need to add extra chicken broth because it gets really thick and will scorch if you're not careful.
...this is not your basic meat and potatoes cookbook - but I think that is one of the STRONG POINTS!!! Many of these recipes use different vinegars and cooking wines which give them great flavors. While some of the spices and vinegars used might not be something you already have on your shelf, there is nothing in here so unusual that you can't buy it in a large grocery store. It's just a matter of buying them and putting them in the pantry. You will be glad you did, as you impress your family and guests with flavorful food.
I also have "The Pressured Cook" by Lorna Sass, but I like this cookbook better. I just wish they had put it in a ring binder so the the pages would stay open. I have to put a big knive across the top of the book to keep the pages flat while I am cooking.

A refreshingly straightforward and commonsensical approach to better communication with your mount-and therefore, better horsemanship
Customer Reviews:
If you dont have it- GET IT!!!!!!!.......2007-04-27
All that needs to be said is that this book is a masterpiece. This is truly the base of Horsemanship and my horses and i have improved and keep on improving everyday after reasding this book. Some say the language in this book is sometimes hard to understand- i say read it again and go practice on your horses and it'll all become clear. A great book that will hopefully help many horse and human partnerships.
Horsemanship Classic of All Times.......2007-01-03
Everyone interested in HorsemanShip i.e. the true and genuine communication with these magnificant animals should read this book. All the basic principles are there explained with pictures.
Experienced people who work with horses always say, that you can't learn horses via books. Well, that is true but good titles like this will certainly help understanding what the horse is all about.
The reason for 4 out 5 points is the rather confusing style of this title. The information is presented in very narrative format which is not the easiest to read and learn from, but nevertheless - if you want to know about horse and the way to communicate with him. Read this title.
Tedious Writing.......2006-11-09
I'm sure, somewhere in this book, there is the information that I was seeking. It's obvious that many people were able to get through this book and learn a great deal. I, however, was not one of them. The first three chapters could have easily been summed up in one sentence (Teaching your horse through feel is a great way to develop your horse). Beyond that, I don't know. I wasn't able to make it past chapter three. It was a painful read and I LOVE to read (especially horse books).
Worth the effort if you want to learn..........2006-10-21
A lot has been said about the authors style, organization, and ability to communicate what he is trying to say. I found it very refreshing. It was as though Bill was talking directly to me trying to explain things as best he could to help me understand. I've been starting colts a long, long time. I am not all about "natural horsemanship", I just want to do a better job with what gets handed to me. It's how I pay my light bill. If you read this and don't get anything out of it your aren't trying or beyond help. He presents a solid way of working with a colt and reafirms some things I learned along the way through trial and error. The book helps you learn to think and demonstrates some techniques which will help you along. He's not about selling you gadgets, videos, feel good clinics, quick fixes, miracles, marketing, "certified" trainers, or making you into a USET rider. He's about the horse...it's obvious that he likes them. I don't think Bills motivation for the book was making a lot of money. At his age I figure he had pretty much what he was after. What he left us was his legacy in printed form. In a hundred years folks will still be picking up his book and learning something they didn't know about horses and themselves. If you like your horse buy the book. If your horse is just another vehicle then don't...there's not much help for you anyway.
Must Have!!!.......2005-09-13
This book is a must have if you are wanting to have a relationship with you horse! It is well written and you can hear Bill Dorrance talking to you throung the text! Easy to follow step and pictures help you to work a neat partnership with your horse!
Book Description
Expert horseman Bill Dorrance chose the name
True Horsemanship Through Feel because “feel” is the language of horses. Learning that language can expand any horseman's knowledge and abilities—whether he or she is learning to ride, train, or compete. In a writing style that is generously detailed and packed with meaning, Dorrance directs the reader’s attention to the many subtle things about how horses and humans act and interact. In these pages, he urges us to reach toward a deeper level of insight into horses and their riders, as he shares a wealth of helpful information. With hundreds of illustrations,
True Horsemanship Through Feel takes the reader step by step through the basic challenges that have characterized horse-human relations for centuries. Drawing on his years of experience, Bill Dorrance has crafted a book that imparts knowledge previously available only by word of mouth.

In Fantasy Rooms--a striking and indulgent book that accompanies the BBC television series--flamboyant Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen urges the British public to stop being so "appalling at letting their hair down" and indulge in their wildest DIY fantasies. Be warned: these designs are not for the faint-hearted. Laurence goes whole hog by transforming a dining room into an Egyptian chamber, making a bedroom into a glitzy Ritz salon, and bringing Ancient Rome into a Basildon living room. He leads us through each project from inspiration to realization, giving a historical perspective on each theme and highlighting the key images and motifs from which the styles are generated.
In spite of its extravagance, this book never loses sight of the practicalities of interior design. Each chapter includes an overview of the homeowner's needs and ideas and Laurence's own evaluation of the space in which his designs are to evolve. The transformations are broken down clearly, explaining the steps taken towards the finished room. But if you don't know how to put up a shelf, this is not the book to tell you--some basic DIY experience is required.
Illustrated with sumptuous photography, including close-ups of individual features, Fantasy Rooms is as visually lavish as you could hope for. Intended to inspire and bring out the Laurence in us all, This book will show you that an Englishman's home should be his fantasy castle. --Nicola Hollins, Amazon.co.uk
Customer Reviews:
Great book - but a little more info from the UK to help you.......2001-11-11
You may recognise Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen from "Changing Rooms" which I understand has been shown on BBC America. He has done other shows as well which may or may not have been aired in the US yet, namely "Fantasy Rooms" and more recently "Home Front - Inside Out". (Both of these series have books to accompany them.)
In "Fantasy Rooms", Laurence creates rooms which draw their themes directly from the passions/lifestyles of his clients. For example, one of my favourites is the Art Nouveau Bedroom in which he takes the client's love of Muchas/Art Nouveau and creates a bedroom to die for! Everything from the headboard on the bed, the subtle stencilling on the wall, to the peacock coloured throw was just perfect - and the book not only shows you gorgeous pictures of the finished rooms, but a bit of how to do it yourself. I would say that they are not quick do-it-in-a-weekend type projects though...(at least not the way I decorate!!) What it should do is give you the inspiration to dump the magnolia walls and make your house reflect your own individuality and style.
I can also recommend the newly published "Home-Front Inside Out" in which Laurence teams up with Diarmuid Gavin, with Laurence doing one room inside the house, and Diarmuid doing the garden (Diarmuid is to gardens what Laurence is to interiors and together they are absolute magic!) You must see Diarmuid's mirror-tiled, egg-shaped refrigerator in one of his designs! Incredible! At the moment this is not available at amazon.com, but is available on amazon.co.uk - but keep checking as it has only recently come out in the UK (Nov 2001) and may find its way to the US in the near future.
Lawrence at his best.......2000-11-30
My previous experience with Lawrence Llewelyn-Bowen comes from his presence on BBC America's "Changing Rooms" therefore, I am not familiar with the show upon with this book is based. Never the less, this is truly Lawrence at his best.
His creativity and talent come through both in the projects themselves and the great photography. The introduction to each section is well written, giving a history of the specific genre of design (Art Deco, Roman Bath, Egyptian...) as well as Lawrence's personal reactions to the space and the theme (as well as his wit and humor). Each section has brief excerpts from 'experts' in the field, such as an Egyptologist and a mosaic artist that are also useful.
While previous experience with DIY is necessary, and as an American, some of the terminology can be tricky, the projects are all things that can be done in a labor-intensive weekend. And while not everyone wants a dining room that looks like an Egyptian tomb, each theme has basic elements that could be applied to any room. Truly a worthwhile read, if for nothing more than to see how Lawrence matches his outfits with each theme.

Book Description
A wild ride inside the glowing head of Dennis Rodman--the NBA's greatest rebounder and America's most outspoken and outrageous athlete.
When Sports Illustrated put the man they call "America's most provocative athlete" on their cover, they sold more copies than any other issue they had sold in a decade (except the swimsuit issue). Why? Because Dennis Rodman, superstar basketball player who joined the Chicago Bulls for the 1996 season, has more in common with Mick Jagger than with his new teammate Michael Jordan. With his body-covering tattoos and ever-changing fluorescent hair, Rodman's sideline antics and celebrated benchings have captivated sports fans as much as his record-breaking on-court performances and earned him a reputation as a rebel with the same penchant for shocking behavior as his on-again off-again squeeze, Madonna. In Bad as I Wanna Be he shares his surprising and candid opinions on everything from fame, money, and race relations, to sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll--and he'll talk about his life, from going to prison for stealing watches to his daughter, the light of his life.
At a time when most celebrities and professional athletes try to control their public personas like politicians and refrain from expressing their true beliefs, Dennis Rodman is a refreshingly unique, uncompromising individual who both transcends his world and refuses to conform to it. Bad as I Wanna Be is as candid, intriguing, and unforgettable as he is.

Shows why being a celebrity is not a great profession...........2006-12-04
I lived in Chicago during the Bulls heyday during the 2nd run of their championships, and everyone I knew had this book, or knew someone who did. I didn't have a copy, but I read it during a break, and found it to be very tiresome and really boring. Even though it's not meant to be Tolstoy, Dickens, or even a dime novel, it's really a waste of time. The book now is completely dated, and Rodman is just a nobody again. All I remember from the book was a rant against David Robinson which started, in typical 90's fashion, "the problem with David Robinson is...". Rodman went off on how Robinson didn't have what it takes to win an NBA championship (Rodman was wrong. Robinson did eventually win a few). Rodman was one of the greatest rebounders of all time, but that's really the only thing he was ever good at. He was your typical celebrity. Obnoxious, rude, outrageous, "outspoken", filled with drugs, marrying stupid women (Carmen Electra in his case), and generally moronic behaviour. The media loved people like that in the 1990's. Rodman just loved to party and behave like an idiot. In other words, typical celebrity behaviour. He did a few bad movies, wrestled in WCW (now defunct), and went on Fear Factor, but he was never a great actor, star, or writer. Just a good athlete that like being a celebrity (hence all the ridiculous clothes, dye jobs, tattoos, etc., etc.).
just a great life!.......2006-08-17
i start loving the NBA because of dennis!! i saw him ones in tv in europe!! and i start to watch the NBA !! i was reaqding the book the first time 1997 in german!! i gave it to a friend and never got it back!! i love the story about his life and all the questin he ask people and what he have done before he was a superstar!!!
i just can say thanks dennis !! if u are in basketball u must read this book!!
Pretty much a solid heap of pity party and rogue bragging.......2006-02-24
As a longtime basketball fan, I was at first anxious to see what I would find in a tell all novel of one of the best rebounders and all around defensive players of the game. What I found was horrible talk about women and other players. Rodman's racist comments against white people are enough to scoff at no matter what color a persons skin is. His comments of "black" players being better than whites is just a terrible shameful label to put upon all of those who play the game. Would have loved to hear what Larry Bird, John Stockton, and Jerry West had to say when they heard that one!
Rodman does talk in depth of the family he lived with for some of his life and I commend him for that. The only downfall to this is the fact he didn't seem to learn from them anything about class or manners. If you are looking for a book about a "worm" then you've come to the right place. If your looking for a book about the wonderful game of basketball as told by one of it's greatest players, I suggest that you look elsewhere.
It has ceased to be relevant.......2005-12-15
Dennis Rodman was a fascinating bad boy who wasn't afraid of mouthing off about anyone. His book is full of a very few good stories and plenty of complaints about fellow players, basketball management, coaches, everyone. He's bitter and angry, not full of interesting anecdotes. Most of this has ceased to be relevant as his heyday of shock value has passed. For someone not intimately involved in the mid to late 1990's basketball scene, none of the information retains relevancy as time passes. This might be good as a history book for a true fan, but if you lived through the Rodman heyday, you probably picked up his memoir back then.
So much is done for pure shock value, and it gets tiresome.
Very fun read.......2005-10-17
Dennis is a very likable, respectable guy and you learn it early on in the book. its never boring and he doesn't necessarily have to be as famous as he is for this autobio to be enjoyable. it's a good book

Rodman Doll does not live up to the Real Thing.......1998-07-19
I hate the Bulls, but I LOVE Rodman. He cracks me up. I think he's sexy and funny and wild. The more outraged people are by his antics, the further he goes. So when I saw this, I thought, 'Yay!'.
The main thing I don't like about it is that the doll does not seem to be based on Rodman's body. It is an air brushed body that doesn't show you Rodman's muscles, etc. The basic concept is pretty cool, and the outfits are funny. I don't regret getting it, I just didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I'm not going to cut it up though, that would ruin it.
If you're a Rodman fan, go ahead and get it because it doesn't seem really mean spirited to me. If you dispise him, get it too, then you can cut it out and have all sorts of satirical fun with it.
