Book Description
"From the author's sure-fire plot comes this fail-safe moral: It takes an outsider to open people's eyes to the beauty--and the evil--within."
--The New York Times Book Review
"Beaton has a winner in the irrepressible, romance-hungry Agatha."
--Chicago Sun Times
Never say die. That's the philosophy Agatha Raisin clings to when she comes home to cozy Carsely and finds a new woman ensconced in the affections of her attractive bachelor neighbor, James Lacey. The beautiful newcomer, Mary Fortune, is superior in every way, especially when it comes to gardening. And Agatha, that rose with many thorns, hasn't a green thumb to her name.
With garden Open Day approaching, she longs for a nice juicy murder to remind James of her genius for investigation. And sure enough, a series of destructive assaults on the finest gardens is followed by an appalling murder. Agatha seizes the moment and immediately starts yanking up village secrets by their roots and digging up all the dirt on the victim. Problem is, Agatha has an awkward secret of her own . . . .
"Compare this one to lemon meringue pie: light. . .with a delicious hint of tartness at its heart."
--The Washington Times
"Delightful . . . Hilarious . . . Warning: Once you read one of Beaton's books, you're hooked. No one does the English cozy better."
--Romantic Times

Agatha Takes Her Place as a Village Character.......2007-06-21
Like many readers, I found Agatha Raisin to be irresistible as a character when she first appeared in Agatha Raisin and the Quiche of Death. Here was a blunt, high-powered, but lonely, woman who wanted to start a new life amid her fantasy of what life is like in a Cotswold village. Her pushy instincts in that book worked well (when employed to raise funds for charity) and backfired when aimed at self-promotion (entering a store-bought quiche in a baking contest). Where would M. C. Beaton take this fascinating character?
In Agatha Raisin and the Vicious Vet, Agatha began to overcome her tendency to pursue James Lacey, her handsome bachelor neighbor, enough to attract him as a sleuthing partner. With Bill Wong as her advisor in the pursuit of the proper male, can she learn to be more reserved?
Agatha Raisin and the Potted Gardener combines both perspectives into one story. Agatha returns from an extended trip to find that James Lacey seems totally taken with a beautiful incomer, Mary Fortune, who has looks, money, and the same gardening interests as James. Agatha is stirred into action and decides to become a horticulturalist. Naturally, she doesn't know the first thing about what she's doing. Despite a warning from Mary that a frost is coming, Agatha puts out her seedlings. The result is a bare garden. Will Agatha cheat again to get her way?
Before the story is over, there's another murder in Carsely and Agatha is immediately in hot pursuit . . . with James Lacey soon enticed into joining her investigation. Before she's done, Agatha even braves the Boggles (the hard-to-satisfy older couple who like free trips from Quiche of Death) to get information.
This story is a more complex character development than either of the first two books in the series. Agatha becomes much more nuanced in her perspectives and responses . . . and becomes more like a real person rather than a mystery book character. I was particularly pleased to see the careful development of Mary Fortune as a character. It is very well done and adds a lot to the story. Unfortunately, James Lacey is developed in only one dimension, a predictable one. He becomes a bit tiresome before the end of the book.
The mysteries in the book are pretty easy to solve which reduces the book's interest for those who like puzzles. But the crimes themselves are certainly imaginative and enrich the story.
The book's main weakness is that the motives and actions of the characters seemed a little off to me. They didn't quite ring true. See what you think.
Any Agatha Raisin fan, however, would be foolish to skip this book. It's quite entertaining.
Cheaters Never Prosper!.......2006-05-18
Agatha Raisin returns in the 3rd book in this series. In this book, Agatha returns from a lengthy vacation only to find that a beautiful newcomer, Mary Fortune, threatens to snare James Lacey's affections. It seems that the perfect Ms. Fortune shares James' love of gardening and she plans to enter her property into the local garden show. Agatha's black thumb does not prevent her from entering the garden show herself, but she soon finds herself having to cheat when all of her seedlings are destroyed in a early frost. Agatha turns to the help of Roy Silver, P.R. cohort, to replant her garden with fully grown nursery plants. However, someone in Carsley is destroying all of the neighbor's gardens, and then Ms. Fortune is found "planted" in a pot...dead. It is up to Agatha to solve the murder before the murderer plants her too.
The Agatha Raisin mysteries are a delight from start to finish! I loved Agatha's gruff exterior but warm heart. It is heartening to see a character that has flaws, but that can make you laugh too. Agatha gets more loveable in each book, and really draws readers into her life. With both of M.C. Beaton's series (she also writes the Hamish MacBeth series), she makes the reader want to take a trip to the Cotswolds to meet the characters she has so vividly created.
The first book in the series is "Agatha Raisin and the Quiche of Death". Enjoy!
Agatha and James Sitting in a Tree..........2005-11-12
In this third entry of the Agatha Raisin series, Agatha returns to Carsely after what turned out to be a lonely world tour only to find that her nest door neighbor and heartthrob James Lacey has his eyes on someone new. Not that he ever had his eyes on Agatha mind you. It seems that a pretty young blonde has moved to town and not only has she captured James' attention but she also seems to be the new darling of the little village. Worse yet, Mary Fortune, this new arrival in Carsely is like James an avid gardener, a situation that causes Agatha to take up gardening for herself. Agatha fails to notice however that as soon as she returns home the people of the village begin to lose interest in Mary and turn their attentions back to their old friend Agatha. Mary does notice this however and begins to turn nasty, especially when many in the village begin to blame her for a series of attacks on local gardens.
Some how or another Mary and Agatha end up being great friends even as James begins to distance himself from the pretty blonde newcomer. Then one night when Mary fails to show up at the local pub James and Agatha make a grisly discovery when they go to check on the missing Ms. Fortune. Ironic name isn't it? The author has made no attempt at all to lead the reader away from her intended victim and so it is no surprise that Mary is murdered but the "potted" position of her body is at the very least a novel idea.
Agatha by this point considers herself quite the sleuth and immediately sets out in search of clues. As in the last book James assists in the snooping and the two once again begin to grow close. Slowly but surely the pair of amateur detectives find out that Mary had been extremely nasty to several people and that there were numerous citizens with apparent motives for murder. In the end the solution comes about more by Agatha's intuition than from clues and it was a solution that caught me completely off guard. Right up until Agatha figured out who the guilty party was I was looking in a completely different direction, a direction that would have spelled the end for one of the major characters in the series.
As in the previous books, Agatha's adventures make for a delightful read. The mess she gets herself into as she tries her hand at gardening makes for a hilarious secondary plot and the people of Carsely are just delightful. Amazingly though the mystery itself remains at the center of the story and drives the action, right down to the mixed up labels on Agatha's fake garden. It seems that the harder Agatha tries to fit in the more she gets embarrassed and the more she gets embarrassed the more the people of Carsely love her. Every town needs an eccentric or two after all.
Better than the last entry.......2004-01-06
Having been very disappointed in the last entry in this series (it was a complete rehash of the first book), I had almost decided not to buy this one, the third in the series, but I did and it is better than I had expected.
Agatha takes up gardening to get closer to James, her next door neighbor, but as usual, makes a complete hash of the effort and has to agree to return to London for 6 months to work for an agency in return for help getting her garden in shape before the village garden show.
The current main rival for her affections for James is murdered and she naturally must figure out who did it. It is rather easy to figure this mystery out but the writing was a little sharper than the previous book making it much more enjoyable.
The sleuth's a winner, the plot is fluffy.......2003-12-31
I read this at someone else's urging, not being a regular devotee to the mystery genre, and I was pleasantly surprised. Agatha Raisin is delightful, sort of a middle-aged Bridget Jones with brains and business acumen. She rises above cute kookiness--her feelings and motivations are quite honestly rendered, though one would wish for her sake she would think before she opens her mouth or acts on some occasions. Most of the pickles she gets herself into are based in her crush on her neighbor, James Lacey, who compares to Mark Darcy of the Bridget Jones books. When the inevitable murder comes due, she and Lacey manage to work together until they solve the whodunit.
Beaton is a witty writer who turns a nice sentence. She makes satirical hay of the village murder mystery genre and the age-old theme of fish out of water (Agatha has taken early retirement in a Cotswold village, escaping momentarily from a high-powered London job.) The actual mystery is kind of poofy; James quietly nails it early on, but his observation is thrown away. It is obvious from the getgo who will be murdered, a rather inscrutable character who the author has set up with a variety of conflicting behaviors but never imbues with the psychological resonance that would explain or reconcile the behaviors. In other words, a cartoon. The obligatory red herrings don't fare much better. The villagers more than make up for this lapse in character definition, however.
Book Description
Omar is the finest storyteller the world has ever known, captivating audiences everywhere, from the campfires of soldier camps to the plush residences of nobility. In times of turmoil, people can still appreciate a good tale that offers respite from their troubles. But as hordes of barbarian soldiers surround the unvanquished city of Zanadon after ravaging the surrounding countryside, few things are certain any longer. Omar has been guided to the city by prophetic dreams, yet finds himself in an increasingly dangerous situation as the people grow more desperate and the gift of a glib tongue turns into a curse.

Omar often finds that his gift for storytelling is not always a blessing. When barbarian soldiers try to take over the city of Zanadon, he finds himself using his gift of gab to save the citizens' lives.

An Author to add to your 'must buy his stuff' list!.......2005-08-16
An author who I feel is not really given the exposure he deserves in Europe, his books are near impossible to buy in the High Street Bookshops. A publisher somewhere is missing out on a very big pot of gold here. To get hold of his books you will either have to order them from Amazon UK/Europe or even from Amazon US for his early works, but believe me it's worth it! Duncan is truly one of the top modern day fantasy authors offering a smart alternative to the moody, darker side of the genre which seems to be the way most authors are going these days. Reaver Road is the first of his Omar books and sadly Omar only appears again in Hunters' Haunt; This is a typical Duncan read filled with sharp wit, a twisted plot and the expected surprise ending of Omar a teller of tall tales who seems to bring out the `big fish that got away' story from everyone he meets. Another romping good read from an author who I am lucky enough to have nearly a complete collection from. I am unashamedly a huge fan of his books and have yet to read one that is less than top quality.
If you call yourself a fantasy fan and are yet to sample his books, what's a matter with you? For beginners with Duncan I would recommend the Great Game series, the Seventh Sword series or the A Man of His Word series. Beware, once you start his books you won't be getting much sleep.
Highly entertaining!.......2002-11-05
Far superior to what I've read of the seemingly endless series work that Duncan has done, here he gives a laudable contribution to the lighthearted subgenre of fantasy (in the style of Fritz Leiber, L. Sprague de Camp, and Robert E. Vardeman). Thus, there are many amusing tongue-in-cheek adventures. Thoroughly entertaining protagonists and settings make for a worthy diversion over two or three evenings. A curious feature of the story, that I couldn't help but notice, however, is that the two protagonists apparently are naked throughout fully half of the book!!! 8.5hrs
Good........2000-07-29
An excellent novel, another fine piece of work from Mr. Duncan. A well written book with believable characters.
Great!.......2000-07-28
Another great book by Duncan. I heartily recommend it, quite funny with an interesting storyline. The dialogue between the two main characters is worth buying the book for.
A developed portrayal of an original Fantasy religion........2000-07-04
What I remember most about this novel on first thought is that from the first pages a well developed and consistent religion dominates the novel. The gods, their names, their histories, their interactions with the world, and the impact of their actually existing is found in the flagstones the novel is built on, and the characters are able to walk around on these metaphorical flagstones with great confidence.
After religion, I found the comedy of the novel, often based in light cynicism, to help lead me down through the pages toward the more important parts of the novel. Then, the heroic style drama comes to the fore, with the main character and the main supporting character getting into a lot of fairly serious trouble. The problems facing them mount and mount, I was afraid the story would literally cop-out at the end, but surprisingly, it doesn't and provides for a satisfactory conclusion (something sorely missed in many stories).
Although there is another novel based on the viewpoint character, The Hunter's Haunt, it has nothing to do with The Reaver Road, which is a self-contained novel.

Any program promising better health is only as good as the work you put into it, but Ultraprevention authors Mark Liponis and Mark Hyman, co-directors of medicine at Canyon Ranch, have designed their program so that not everyone must follow every little detail to the letter. Their six-week program is divided into three stages, but you can decide which suggestions will help speed you towards your goals. They begin by simplifying illness and reducing the various causes to five possible categories: Burnout (metabolism), Heat (inflammation), Rust (presence of free radicals or absence of antioxidants), Sludge (nutrition), and Waste (poor detoxification). These five categories are individually complex, but it's not at all difficult to find a few simple steps to take in the direction of healthier living. Some choices--filtering drinking water via reverse osmosis, improving your sleeping habits, or choosing specific supplements to add to your daily regimen--are quick and painless. Others, such as weaning yourself off prescription medications (like anti-inflammatories) and replacing the drugs with micronutrients, are best done in consultation with your own physician. Balancing general suggestions with a deep understanding that people vary greatly in their habits, Liponis and Hyman present a range of possibilities for every age and level of fitness while simultaneously addressing the specific needs of particular illnesses. While the terminology is potentially overwhelming to total novices in complimentary medicine, the book offers clear and excellent possibilities for those who are willing to look outside the box for improved health. --Jill Lightner

Through the practice of the six-week Ultraprevention program, you'll learn three simple steps that stop these forces and create a lifetime of good health. So stop falling for the myths that make you sick and start Ultraprevention, the powerful plan to get older without aging, to maintain health for all of life.

Healthcare is pulled and shaped by many forces, by drug and insurance companies looking for profits, by politicians in search of votes, and by stressed, overworked physicians who barely have time to talk to you before writing a prescription or packing you off to a specialist. So is anyone interested in keeping you well? Yes. Created by two physicians who both survived catastrophic illness, the Ultraprevention program will work for absolutely everyone -- old, young, healthy, sick, or somewhere in between. The promise of its practice is huge -- a health span that matches life span -- and you'll experience increased energy, weight loss, enhanced mood and memory, better digestion, deeper sleep, diminished stress, and more. Ultraprevention is the new science of staying healthy, an innovative program that shatters the myths of today's ""fix-the-broken-parts"" medicine. These myths -- drugs cure disease, genes determine your fate, getting older means aging, fat is a four-letter word -- are actually believed by many doctors and are keeping you sick. Ardent general practitioners, Drs. Hyman and Liponis reject the current healthcare system of specialists paid to find something wrong, specialists who don't consider how their ""cure"" for one ailment affects the entire body. Working outside the managed care model at Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires, Hyman and Liponis break free of the vicious quick-fix prescription cycle and formulate a program that identifies and eliminates the cause of disease instead of just masking symptoms.

Really Opens your Eyes.......2007-05-27
This book explains in very easy to understand detail why the current medical system is not patient friendly. It does not know how to treat chronic illness very well if at all. Many doctors have tunnel vision and treat so many of their patients like one size fits all. I have multiple health issues that are definitely improved by a good diet and the right supplements. The nutritonal info is terrific. I knew much of the information already, but it is great to see it reinforced by these authors. A must read for anyone wanting to improve their health and wellness. The whole foods concept is what I grew up on and it is something we all need to get back to. I am on a journey to better health, and this book will definitely give me some good info to use.

This classic text on Chinese Cooking Technique, now available in paperback, combines an insider's knowledge of authentic Chinese cooking and culture with more than two hundred recipes.
Amazon.com
There are many fine books on Chinese cooking. Among them, Barbara Tropp's the Modern Art of Chinese Cooking stands out for its grounding in the underlying philosophy of this sophisticated cuisine. Tropp explores the yin and yang, the harmony of opposites underlying all aspects of Chinese life. Relating them particularly to cooking, she illustrates how seasoning with both chiles and sugar gives a dish fullness of flavor that is more than just hot and sweet. The author gives much attention to equipment and techniques--this is an in-depth manual as well a recipe book. Ever practical, she is not too shy to advise readers about using a Western-style skillet for stir frying, along with advice on using woks, cleavers, and steamers.
The recipe section opens with assorted nibbles. Dishes range from spicy Szechuan Ma-La Cold Chicken to Rice-Coated Pork Pearl Balls, ideal for serving at parties. There are red-cooked stewed meats and juicy Pot Sticker Dumplings. Recipes are as simple as Spinach Stir-Fried with Garlic and Salt, and as complex as Pressed Birthday Duck, which takes up to four days to make and involves three cooking techniques. The dishes come from various regions of China, with an emphasis on those with bold flavors. Tropp adds technique notes to her already detailed instructions, and even recommends what serving dishes to use, whether to heat them, and the best wines to accompany dishes.
Ultimately, the wealth of information, Tropp's charming voice, and the creative touches she adds in crunchy Cinnamon Bark Chicken, Ginger-Infused Crème Caramel and other recipes make Barbara Tropp's The Modern Art of Chinese Cooking a necessary book for anyone serious about Chinese food. --Dana Jacobi

Taught me basic Chinese cooking technique.......2007-07-23
I wanted one Chinese cookbook that would teach me all the basics of cooking.
This is it! (And I'm still learning.)
Ok, it's very time consuming. But it's worth it! I've even learned little hints that have helped me in all of my cooking! For instance, now I can bread and lightly fry or bake any item without it falling apart!
The Julia Child or Marcella Hazan of Chinese Cooking.......2007-04-07
This book isn't really what I was looking for. It is filled with informative recipes, ingredient lists, and anecdotes. Like Julia Child or Marcella Hazan, Tropp is a purist. I've got a large Chinese market nearby, but I'm still intimidated by the ingredients she insists on. (They're not necessarily exotic, it is just finding the best soy sauce, for example, that is daunting.) I like this style of cookbook, and I'm convinced that if I cooked my way through it I'd be an accomplished Chinese cook, ultimately this book has much loftier aspirations than I do.
Good Instruction but..........2006-05-23
This is certainly a fantastic book, which I bought following recommendations from the Amazon reviews and from an internet food community. The strengths of the book are that it contains a level of detail in the recipes, and in the introductions to the various types of cooking styles, ingredient preparation and correct use of cooking utensils.
However, the recipes themselves are not on the whole as appealing as one might expect from a book of this size. Also, in terms of "classical" chinese cuisine (by that I mean what you and I are used to, rather than what someone from Mainland China is used to) this book is not as strong as you may think.
My main gripes emerge when comparing this book with Yan-Kit's Classic Chinese Cookbook. This book to me contains the same, if not greater levels of detail with regards to frying/steaming and ingredient prep, and also contains many many more appealing recipes, with just as good levels of detail for those that are not familiar with chinese cookery. The section on ingredients and also on the cuisine of Mainland China is also superior in this book.
Yan-Kit's Classic Chinese Cookbook remains my go-to book for Chinese food, altho I will keep this and use it from time to time, but it is certainly not as useful and doesnt contain as many appealing recipes. If you are interested in smoking chicken and duck however, you will need Barbara Tropp's book.
One of the best.......2005-11-21
I'm an avid cookbook reader and recipe-try-outer and this is one of the best cookbooks in general that I have come across. Instructions are crystal clear, which is great for beginning cooks, and because of the careful instructions, each recipe turns out exactly like it's supposed to. She has a lot of home-cooking type recipes that are easy, like the Master Sauce Eggs and chicken. It's true that some recipes do take time, but most of them you can do parts ahead of time or are hands-off sorts.
Great cooking teacher.......2003-01-08
Totally spellbinding and exciting book! Barbara recognized that great outcomes require more than simply great recipes, and that great execution requires more than superficial knowledge.
In The Modern Art of Chinese Cooking, Barbara prepares the reader for virtually all of the conditions and eventualities that home cooks face. She then provides the in-depth knowledge and nuance necessary to consistently achieve world-class perfection. And she does it in an easy-to-read, entertaining style.
Thanks to Barbara's book, the fine recipes from David Hom and Irene Kuo have reached even greater heights.

Great Start For Schnauzer Lovers.......2000-07-13
This book gives good insight into what you can look forward to when owning a mini of your own. I had my schnauzer for 11 years from when I was 8 to 19. My sweet dog had to be put to sleep because of health problems though. In tribute to him I can say that owning a schnauzer will greatly imrpove the quality of your life. Read this book, learn what to expect, then go out and get a mini of your own and enjoy the never ending love that this dog will bring you.

2003 Comic Book Price Guide.......2002-12-05
I want the prices to the comic books
It's all new.......2002-07-17
Disregard the review about the "2001" date on the pages -- I have their 2001 guide and all the information in this edition is new and different from that. I asked the publishers and they said their production department put the wrong headers on the top of the page. A mistake which has no effect on the book at all!
An essential, invaluable reference and price guide........2002-03-24
Now in a fully updated 8th edition covering 1961 to the present day, the 2002 Comic Book Checklist And Price Guide from Krause Publications is the premier annotated reference for just about every saleable and collectible comic book published in the last 40 years. 2002 Comic Book Checklist And Price Guide is an authoritative, succinct, thorough, indispensable, and very highly recommended price guide for comic collectors, hobbyists, dealers, and auctioneers seeking to determine a fair price for their product. In addition to the exhaustive price lists, and informative introduction explains the basics of comic book collecting, as well as the system by which comic books are graded in terms of their quality.
Is this really a 2002 Price Guide?.......2002-03-10
Although this book is very well set-up and useful, I question whether it actually has updated information in it. The intro section (pages 1-12) are labeled "2002 Comic Book Checklist & Price Guide", but the rest of the pages in the book (13-741) have "2001 Comic Book Checklist & Price Guide" on the top of the page. It appears to be last year's guide wrapped up in a new cover and intro section.

Thirteen Vivid Profiles of Creative Genius.......2004-08-13
This is another in a series of "Profiles of...." volumes in each of which Landrum focuses on exceptional men and women who have achieved great success after having overcome all manner of barriers, obstacles, and adversities. In this book, he provides a rigorous and eloquent discussion of "thirteen creative geniuses who changed the world." Twelve of the thirteen could serve as positive role models for all youth regardless of their "color." During the seven years since this book was first published, Michael Jackson's personal behavior in recent years has (in my opinion) disqualified himself from their distinguished company but no one can deny his "creative genius" nor the nature and extent of his success as an entertainer. Regrettably, he seems to have "killed" his career. Others may challenge the inclusion of Paul Robeson but I do not. They are urged to read Chapter 17 in which Landrum brilliantly discusses Robeson's life and career. He was a Phi Beta Kappa scholar and All American football player at Rutgers University (later inducted into the NCAA Football Hall of Fame), attorney, internationally renowned actor and singer, and a social (not political) activist whose initiatives and eloquence helped to achieve human rights for Afro-Americans, notably the Supreme Court decision in 1954 which declared school segregation unconstitutional. He overcame so many adversities himself while leveraging his celebrity to make it so much easier for others to overcome theirs.
The most famous subjects in this book are Bill Cosby, Jackson, Michael Jordan, Colin Powell, and Oprah Winfrey but I was most interested in what Landrum reveals about John Johnson, Reginald Lewis, and Thurgood Marshall who continue to be neglected and underappreciated in terms of their importance, not only to the United States but to other countries throughout the world and for reasons which Landrum notes in the separate chapters devoted to them.
A sufficient number of copies of this book should be readily available in every school and public library. Of greater importance, Profiles of Black Success should be a primary source in every U.S. history course.
Those who share my high regard for this book are urged to check out Landrum's Profiles of Genius, Profiles of Power & Success, Profiles of Female Genius, and Entrepreneurial Genius as well as Howard Gardner's Leading Minds: An Anatomy Of Leadership and Creating Minds: An Anatomy of Creativity Seen Through the Lives of Freud, Einstein, Picasso, Stravinsky, Eliot, Graham, and Gandhi.
A LOOK AT SUPER-ACHIEVERS.......2001-05-19
Are there differences in achievement when it comes to race? This is the predominant question which the author attempts to answer through his study of thirteen African-American super achievers. From the start of his work the author makes very clear that greatness is greatness and is not predetermined by genetic influences and the inane concept of race.
I found this book to be very inspiring in pointing out the various personality traits that enables one to become successful. The author's use of various personality type theories (Myers-Briggs, Farley's Personality Types, etc) to explain what makes these individuals "tick" was very helpful. His survey of each individuals' imprint for success and summary for them gives an excellent snap shot on what success entailed for these individuals.
Although the work is intriguing many questions abound. For example of the thirteen profiled (Oprah Winfrey, Bill Cosby, Berry Gordy, etc.) the vast majority are in the field of entertainment/sports.Why? Is it because the society only opened opportunities for Blacks in those areas? His dominant traits for these subjects success are not anything new. Many other Blacks have possessed them but never made it to "the top". Why? Our author fails to point out what is it in Black culture that nurtured these people to success inspite of the obstacles.
Profiles of Black Success is a good starting point in studying how African Americans survive against the odds. I would hope that other African-American writers specialized in behavior theory could present us with a more incompassing and complete work on how Black culture plays its part in success. Until then this book will do.
Hmmm.......Interesting analysis of achievers........1998-06-30
Despite a few errors on the personalities( e.g. Michael Jordan did not play for the NCSU Wolfpack), the book provides a somewhat interesting analysis into the traits and experiences which made the following subjects achievers in their own right. Even though the author is prone to bouts of exaggeration in describing the qualities which made these people successful in their fields, I would still recommend the book to youngsters, who in this day and age, need to understand what are the foundations for attaining whatever they wish to achieve.
