This was the first of the Russell Quant mysteriea I read, and it was while I was on a Mediterranean cruise. I really got into the main character and all the rest of his friends. Everyone sweemed so real and the mystery held me. It was a page turner. The PI is gay, so if you are gay you will like it even more. I left the book with the cruise ship library so some one else could enjoy it.

This book was one of the best reading experiences I've had in a long while, bar none! Anthony Bidulka has quickly become one of my top 5 authors and once you've read "Flight of Aquavit" you'll know why. First of all, I absolutely LOVE (!!) the lead character, Russell Quant. This character is so well-developed I feel as though I actually know this man, from his little quirks to his dry sense of humor, and even to his sense (or lack thereof) of style and likes/dislikes. The cast of characters (especially his mother and his fabulous, larger-than-life friend, Sereena) is quite memorable and provide the reader with a more "3-D" view of Russell's life. Bidulka has a way of drawing you into the story and making you care about the characters and understand what makes them "tick." I found myself having to pace myself as I read the book or else I might have spent all night and part of the morning finishing the story in order to find out how it ends. If you're looking for a great story with a top-notch private eye who happens to be gay (rather than his gayness being the primary characteristic that defines him), look no further than this book. You WON'T be disappointed!

This book is about returning detective Russell Quant (2nd in the series) hired by a local businessman being blackmailed by a blackmailer who at once is both enticing and dangerous. Quant ends up for a spell in New York for a short but exciting time and then its back home for the exciting conclusion of another top notch detective story with humour and pathos and further development of some very unique and endearing and curious characters. The author has created a world that is very welcoming to the reader and you will easily (and happily) be taken in.

This title was recommended by a friend familiar with the offerings of Babbage Press; I was not disappointed.
The main character Galen Sword is intriguing, and the blend of modern day technology with a hidden world of high fantasy calls to mind such books as the Harry Dresden series, and novels by White Wolf. What sets this novel apart, is an interesting premise: a character who seeks to uncover his past and recover a birthright stolen from him. The supporting characters seem well-developed, and intriguing, suggesting quite a few hidden secrets to be uncovered throughout the course of the series.
In all, a great read, and am looking forward to sampling the other two books in the series.

Shifter introduces us to the mysterious Galen Sword. Sword is a troubled man. Orphaned at an early age, Sword has spent most of his life as a playboy looking for new thrills. If there were fewer than one stars, this book would get it. It's the "classic English expatriate" novel (in the model of The Rains Came, etc.) but set in the middle of an interstellar war: even with a member of the British royal family. The fighting is a rip-off of David Drake; you're better off with Drake.

As a wife and mother of three small children, I can't spend a lot of time in the kitchen; just too much else to do, so I appreciate these recipes: varied, simple, and TIME-SAVING! I also like that there are pics for each recipe so you can have an idea as to what the finished product should look like. (wink) So far everyone's favorite has been Chicken with Garlic Bread Crumbs (pgs 78 and 79), but I'm still having so much fun trying out the recipes! This cookbook is definitely worth every cent spent!

This is a great cookbook for chicken recipes. There is a large variety of recipes, from Asian to Mexican to Italian to Southern as well as sandwiches, soups, and stews. Most of the recipes are simple and many are quick. These are mostly made with ingredients that I buy at the grocery store on a regular basis, without a lot of hard to find or uncommon additions. That's especially nice considering the large variety of tastes and textures included.
Many of the recipes feature suggestions for side dishes as well, which is particularly helpful, and tips to make the cooking go easier and faster. The recipe instructions are rather brief, and for the inexperienced cook, they may find this a slight obstacle, but with the reference guide in the front, it would be impossible to not know what to do. The front of the book has a wonderful guide about storage, safety, and cooking techniques.
The best part about this book is that there is a glossy color picture of every recipe on the main pages (there are a few recipes inside the cover of the book that don't have pictures), which is great when flipping through the book to decide what to have for dinner. It's especially helpful for those that are more visually oriented and for whom it is difficult to get a picture and the taste of the recipe by just reading the words.

This cookbook is great! There are hundreds of simple, yet tasty, chicken recipes. We have tried several and love them all...and they are done in less than 30 minutes with minimal work. We especially love the Mexican Chicken Skillet...it is healthy and quick. We have tried several of the marinades and rubs as well, and no complaints so far! I highly recommend this cookbook if you love chicken, but need a new way to prepare it. Enjoy!

I love this book! There are so many wonderful recipes. I turn to this cookbook when I can't decide what to make for dinner. The pictures are great, and there's one for each recipe. None of the recipes are more than 1 page long, and each lists the prep time and cook time. There's even fast & easy chicken ideas on the inside cover. One of my favorite recipes is the Honey-Glazed Chicken Breasts - they're delicious and easy to make. I highly recommend it!

No extraction information from purchasers or medical veternarians. (Not anticipated for this type of guide.) One of the more mediocre and sub par publishings on sale. This book is not overly technical in a matter, however not the basic lore a beginning purchaser may need to progress to the more advanced handbooks. The author has not likely obtained enough research for complexity to please most critics in modern day style. To put it rather briefly, the one manual worth the expense would be Nona K. Baur's guide, which contains better categorization, specifics, and overall quality. This is the only manual most definetely worth the expense and payment.

This book definitely illustrates quilling skills that will guide you beyond the basics. Photos in the book demonstrate various tools which could enable you to create more precise shapes. The projects in this book are broken down into each essential paper shape and element with numbered steps. Specific tips and techniques are provided for each of the basic shapes. Ultimately you are able to manipulate the paper with far greater control. Once assembled you will discover beautiful art pieces with a delicate filigree appearance. The projects in this book are more sophisticated and offer you designs that yield heirloom-quality results.

As a beginner, this book will ensure I'm not a beginner for long! What wonderful illustrations and instructions! I had no idea there were this many techniques and styles. It's nice to know there really is no limit to what one can create with a little knowledge and a lot of imagination. Highly recommended.

Some of these patterns are truely lovely. I especially liked the Victorian Fan. Most of the book deals with somewhat more advanced techniques. Examples of quilled dolls and boxes look a little beyond the beginner, but there are a number of other motifs that should appeal to the novice.

You may be tempted by the gorgeous gold cross on the cover, only to study the book for hours without finding it. That's from one of Malinda Johnston's wonderful books, but Ms. Wilson doesn't even have the courtesy to acknowledge that. That's a perfect example of what this book is like ... Yuck! There are some absolutely awesome quilling books available nowadays (and most, if not all, are right here on Amazon). Don't waste your money on this one!
