Book Description
There's nothing like December in Florida-especially when it's attorney December Vaughn showing a drug company and its ruthless lawyers that some blondes are smarter than they look.
Customer Reviews:
Hilarious!.......2007-07-12
Janet Evonovich with a dash of Grisham thrown in.
One of the funniest books I've ever read! December Vaughn moves to Florida to start her own legal firm. She draws in a goofy cast of characters: Maxine, the beauty pageant secretary/best friend,Mr Ellison the crazy senior citizen with a heart of gold, the entire senior citizen brigade...the sexy local PI....then the mayhem really starts~! Cases for the seniors, the suspicous drug company suit, the idiot savant antique nut....the comedy just keeps up while the threats, mysterious lawyers, odd phone calls and dead bodies pile up! Action and laughs at 1000 miles per hour! Sure didn't get much work done today! But what a ride! Whew!
Obviously I highly reccommend this book. What Fun!

Totally Fantastic.......2007-07-10
I had a lot I wanted to do today, but made the big mistake of picking up Blondes Have More Felons. I finished it a few minutes ago and though I didn't get done what was on my list, I had a so much more enjoyable day between the pages of Alesia Holliday's book. This was a fantastic book which took me thru the range of emotions - laughter, tears and tension. Full speed ride from start to finish. If you finished reading Janet Evanovich's latest Stephanie Plum book and are depressed that you have to wait another year for the next - pick up Blondes Have More Felons and guaranteed you will be looking forward to the next December Vaughn's book over the next Stephanie Plum's. I hope Amazon's date on the next book in the series is wrong - because 2025 is too long to wait to spend more time with these wonderful characters.
Very entertaining.......2007-06-22
This is a wonderful combination of serious mystery and comedy. I seldom laugh out loud in a mystery, but I did in this one. I am looking forward to more.
Very enjoyable.......2007-04-25
I liked this book very much. The characters were likeable annd believable. I laughed a lot while reading "Blondes Have More Felons". I was afraid it would be just another formulaic chick mystery where designer shoes get as much attention as the plotline, but December and her world are well drawn and full of charm. I've gotten to the point where if the main character in a book I'm reading runs five miles every day before work, goes to the gym every night, never eats and seems to survive on cocktails and mineral water, I'm too annoyed to enjoy the story. That isn't the case in this book! December eats too many donuts while stressing about her misplaced furniture van and starting her law practice and has to put on her power suit with the elastic waistband. WAY closer to the life I know! December isn't whiny, doesn't play games with men and her friends are hilarious. If you want a fun read, I'd recommend this series for sure.
Enjoyable.......2006-12-01
I really enjoyed this book. I found myself really wanting to get back to it and even caught myself laughing out loud in parts. December is a fun, believable character with some pretty quirky, yet real people around her. Everyone should be blessed with some of her friends, employees, and acquaintances. No one should be blessed with her moving company. I am really looking forward to the next book in this series.

Mining the Darkness.......2004-09-08
Scott Baker's Ancestral Hungers" may very well be the first "Gothic, neo-Noir" Novel of our generation. Unlike the lush romanticism of Anne Rice or the creepy surrealism of Clive Barker, "Hungers" barrels across the page like a passenger train in a Edward Hopper cityscape that's haunted by characters out of a Bosch nightmare. Like classic Noir, Baker's most terrible "Gothic" secrets are hidden under the calloused soul of his main character, and there they fester until circumstances drag it all out of him in a paryoxym of lust, rage, hellfire and transcendent mysticism.
And that's when the real fun of "Hungers" begins. The novel begins in familiar territory, then explodes into a pathos that distorts the classic western battle of "Good vs. Evil" (desire vs. control) and turns it on its head, focing the main character to tumble headlong into a tortured wilderness of metaphysical plot twists that ooze with the sacred Horrors of eastern religion and philosophy. It's a wild ride!
Baker's tale is a Fever Dream. A tale laced with Absinthian nightmares that would make Poe proud - yet it forces readers to confront their own deep seated emotional fears by relentlessly tearing at the narrow realities that we inhabit every day. And when all the fear and terror is spent, it finally asks us this question: "In a world bursting with the weight of the most mundane little evils, are we capable of true consciousness?" Are we ready to see through the everyday Horror that surrounds us and see it for what it truly is...
flawed, but classic occult horror.......2003-02-25
Ancestral Hungers is a rewrite of the author's older book, called Dhampire, which has always been a favorite of mine. While most reviews think of this as a 'vampire' book, I think it's a broader canvas than that - it includes medieval grimoire sorcery, tantric occultism, and a lot of cool real vampire lore that never gets covered in the popular literature. Those who like the occult theories of Kenneth Grant will be thrilled by the stuff in here.
The book's greatest flaw is its ending, which wanders off into a full-scale tour of a halluncinatory hell without much rhyme or reason. This last section rather fails.
Still if you want a tale of black magic to curl your toes, I recommend it. Sexually depraved? You bet! Lunatic? Possibly... Steeped in elder lore? Fer sure!
Great!! vampire literature.......2001-11-06
I loved this book. I couldn't put it down i wish that there was a second part I would love to find out what happens next. It has been many years since this book was published and i hope that there will be another one.
What a disappointment!!!!!!!!.......2001-04-30
.... Started out interesting, then went totally off the wall, making no sense at all. . Absolutely worthless reading, I too didn't finish reading the book even though I was over three quarters of the way through. Do not waste your time.
It was the worst book I've ever read.......1999-05-26
This book began all right, but degraded into meaningless jumble of offensive sex and devil worship. I was looking for a good book, and the cover compared it to Interview With the Vampire, by Anne Rice. Interview being one of my favorite books, I started this one with high hopes. It was terrible!! The plot is this: David Bathory, heir to the family control of vampires. From there, it trailed off into describing (in extremely offensive detail) the sex he has with his uncle and his sister. I didn't care to finish the book.
The author should be sued for false advertising, comparing his book to one of today's top writers. I gave this book one star, but only because I couldn't give it less. To anyone not interested in literary pornography, don't even bother picking up this book. Read Anne Rice if you are looking for well-written vampires.

Wow. One hundred and one complete blueprints for a romantic seduction scene. Once a week you and your beloved are supposed to pick a scenario from the book; they're packaged so that they can't be read until they're torn out and opened, so neither of you will have a clue what the other has in store for you. (No cheating!) Icons on the front pages of each plan let you know the approximate cost, whether travel or food is involved, and whether it should be chosen during a particular season. Have a grrreat time!

MEN: Get this!.......2007-09-29
If you are an uncreative knucklehead like me, this book will help your marriage. Chock full of creative ideas. Have used many of them and loved the "results".
Updated 2005 Edition is Grrreat!.......2005-11-17
My sister in law had the older version of this book, and she showed it to my wife. We wanted something to make our love-life more exciting.
When we ordered it, we found out it was updated, and improved! The seductions are easy to setup and do, with five-star results!
I get romance points with my wife by ripping out the envelopes with these cool ideas, and going to the trouble to make them happen. (Not much trouble, when it's all planned out for you.)
I love it when I get a teaser in my email from the website. It really increases the anticipation, if you know what I mean!
Buy the book!
Secret Sealed Seductions Spice Up Your Love Life.......2005-11-15
Got this book as an anniversary gift for DH. It is grrreat! You rip out a sealed 'envelope' and open it up for an awesome seduction, complete with ingredients and instructions. We love knowing the other has something planned, but not knowing what it is until it happens!
101 Nights has been completely updated with a new cover, new seduction ideas, and a link to Laura's website where you can send an eCard or an iTease before you seduce your partner. The iTeases are grrreat, too! They add a little mystery and fun to the whole process.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants to spice up (or rescue) their love life. My favorite so far is #8 Peek-A-Boo!
101 Nigths of Grrreat Romance.......2005-10-17
Not only was I excited, but my husband couldn't have thought of a better idea himself than a book that does the planning for you. On top of working and parenting the last thing we have time for is to come up with creative ideas to keep the romance alive. Certainly this book is sure to be beneficial to any new or old lovers who are looking for a little spice in the bedroom and beyond.
Keeping dates alive and mysterious with the one you love.......2005-07-28
This was purchased as a gift. An attempt to get romance back into a 21 year marriage relationship that has gone a little stale. The book was recommended by my niece in Canada. She and her husband absolutely love it! They have alot of fun with the romance and dates!!! A great gift for a new couple and a fabulous gift for a well seasoned, getting predictable couple.

Finally Back in Print!!!.......2001-12-08
I've searched in vain for a used copy of this for years, and was resigned to never seeing it again after moving away from the city with the library I always checked it out of.
An Amazing book! It has both modern and traditional Indonesian methods of producing Tempeh, along with an explanation of how to make Tempeh on a large scale.
There are instructions for making not only Soy, but many other kinds of tempeh, along with explanations of how to use it in Western and Eastern cooking. (and tips on basic indonesian cooking)
The book is full of great info, beautiful line drawings and wonderful recipes. Great for both people who want to learn how to cook with tempeh, those who want more versatile ways to prepare it, and those ambitious souls who want to make their own.
Also check out Shurtless and Aoyagi's Book of Tofu and book of Miso. They know their stuff.

The best book to have in an emergency!.......2007-07-22
This book is so well organized that even if you are in a panic you can find the information you need. Straight forward easy to understand information with pictures. I bought this book years ago and kept it in my hoses first aid box. It's indispensable!
Give the right aid quickly.......2007-05-30
This is the emergency guide we've been looking for as the long term owners/keepers of 3 quarter horses. The pictures help us visually know what we're confronting with our horses. The essential "first aid" to be given, tells us what we can do, what we shouldn't do, and relay the critical information to our vet when we call. Our vet is over-burdened, as all large animal vets are, and giving him the correct information/description helps him know how soon he needs to come. We can also tell him how our horse is responding to the "first aid" we've given and whether he wants us to do anything additional. The size and spiral binding makes it easy for us to keep this reference at the barn, where we need it. We're also reading through this guide now, which helps us decide what to read further about in other resources, such as the Merk Manual of Veterinary Medicine.
Buy this Book for Your Horse's First Aid Kit.......2007-04-18
The information on dealing with equine health emergencies is accessible (easy to find in case of emergency), easy to understand, and the photographs clearly illustrate the procedures. Information includes treatment of burns, lacerations, skull injuries, tendon injuries, fractures and just about any possible equine emergency situation you could imagine
Highly Recommended by Author of "Give a Horse a Second Chance - Adopting and Caring for Rescue Horses"
A Great Reference!.......2006-10-07
I have in the past bought first aid books and found them lacking in the information given. This little compact book however has past all my expectations. Color coded and spiral bound makes it one of the most useful books I have seen. I love the way it grades the problems and also gives direction in treatment, including call the vet. The photos are not for the faint hearted but useful all the same. I would recommend this book to be kept wherever there are horses. My only hope is I never have to use it.
Great book for Horse people to have.......2006-08-07
The Dr. Kellon's Book First Aid for horses is on of the best books on the topic I have seen it is well organized into section in tabular format. The tabs are very easy to navigate and provide immediate access to well organized and well illustrated instructions. This is a tool all Horse folks should have in their tack room, trailer and saddle bags. My copy goes every were my horses go.

Book Description
More mushrooms, less pollution! Yes, you heard right: growing more mushrooms may be the best thing we can do to save the environment. Microscopic cells called "mycelium"the fruit of which are mushrooms recycle carbon, nitrogen, and other essential elements as they break down plant and animal debris in the creation of rich new soil. What fungi expert Paul Stamets has discovered is that mycelium also breaks down hydrocarbons the base structure in many pollutants. So, for instance, when soil contaminated with diesel oil is inoculated with strains of oyster mushroom mycelia, the soil loses its toxicity in just eight weeks. In MYCELIUM RUNNING, Stamets discusses this revolutionary trend in mushroom cultivation and provides tips for choosing the appropriate species of fungi for various environmental purposes.
