Excellent!.......2005-06-13
Very easy to read and well laid out. A brilliant book for beginners like me, keen to learn not just the right techniques, but also the theory behind them.
The Art and science of fly fishing.......2000-12-08
I think this book shows you the art and science of fly fishing. this one was best among the books I read for flyfishing. It changed what I see at the stream. After this book, the streams were not the same as I had seen before..
My Bible.......2000-10-19
A great guide to approaching the river in a strategic way with methods that can be adapted to whatever conditions you face on the water. I think it's the most useful book on the subject, and is great for anglers of any level of skill.
Most informative book on fly fishing tactics available........2000-08-24
If you want to learn to catch trout in almost any situation you will encounter then this is the book for you. Written in Tom's low-key style. Solid information. I have been trout fishing, and reading trout fishing books for forty years. I learned more from this book than anything else I ever read. Another must have is Rosenbauer's "Reading Trout Streams.
This Book Is a Must.......2000-08-06
Once you've figured out what rod, reel, line, leader, tippett, etc, to buy and you've learned to cast half way decently then this is THE book to buy. After you've finished reading it, go back and STUDY it. Excellent advice in a very readable straight forward manner.
Book Description
In this comprehensive and readable guide, Tom Rosenbauer shares his vast knowledge of fly fishing for trout when there is no hatch.

How to find trout when there is no hatch.......2006-06-02
This is another excellent resource from Tom Rosenbauer. What do you do when there is no hatch? He covers a little bit of everything--streamers, dries, wet flies, and nymphs. It's a nice follow-up volume to his Guide to Fly Fishing and his Reading the Stream book. As with his other books, he writes clearly and practically. You should read it, then later re-read it to remind yourself what you should have done when you didn't catch anything. Tight lines!
5TH PURCHASE.......2005-09-15
THIS BOOK IS A MUST HAVE. I HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE TO INTRODUCE MANY OF MY FRIENDS TO THE SPORT OF FLYFISHING. I HAVE PURCHASED AND GIVEN AWAY A BOOK TO EACH OF MY LAST FIVE FRIENDS. THEY ALL LOVE IT. GREAT NIGHTSTAND BOOK FOR READING AGAIN AND AGAIN!
Great book................2005-04-20
Any book by Tom Rosenbauer is usually excellent, but this book could have been much smaller. If this book had the size of Orvis' Pocket Guides, it would have been fantastic. Great read and great information nonetheless. Highly recommended.
Tips on finding Trout.......2001-10-26
There is no other activity that I know of that can lead to more serenity and more frustration, simultaneously, than trout fishing. You have to first find the fish, who show up in the most innocuous places. You then have to figure out what they're eating. And always, it's a *little* bit comforting to know that you are not alone in this trial. Misery sometimes does love company. But misery also loves some real good advice, as well!
In that, Tom Rosenbauer does a superior job of teaching how to go to a piece of water, and start the monumental task of prospecting ( like a miner ) that water for the stealthy trout that (probably) inhabit therein. Two things begin to happen when reading the book. First, you begin to understand why you haven't found fish before. Second, you begin to understand that part of the enjoyment of trout fishing, is *in* the looking itself, whether or not you actually succeed in finding a fish that particular day.
In the opinion of one who has just really begun this journey into fishing for trout, this book is excellent!
Packed with illustrations and photos.......2001-07-06
Tom Rosenbauer's Orvis Guide To Prospecting For Trout shares the author's fishing savvy and tells both novices and avid fishermen how to make reluctant trout strike. From fishing with dry flies and streamers to tricks of the lure, this is packed with illustrations and photos.

A Good Resource to Peruse & Take Notes. Buy used or Borrow From Library.......2007-10-14
If you write child focused stories and are in need for some inspiration, there are plenty of ideas to get you going in this book, although some are very typical. Such as remember a moment in your childhood, or overhear and record someone else's conversation at a library, or use what-if scenarios, or web a word into many other similiar word associations, or peruse through magazines, tabloids to get ideas... Nothing earth shattering here. The authors do provide a nice little section on plotting using checklists, outlines, and summaries (very basic). All in all, a good resource to peruse and take notes at your local book store or library or if you are still inclined, buy it cheaply as a used book. There's a reason why it's not in reprint anymore.
You have to be very careful with books published by Writer's Digest as they churn out books like crazy. There motto is probably "Quantity as oppose to quality" for the namesake of profits. I think next time they should enlist Nancy Lamb to do a book like this as she has an excellent book called "The Writer's Guide to Crafting Children Stories". Lamb's book is excellent. A treasure trove of information. Get that book instead. She has a small chapter on Inspiration to get you started, but her focus lies on the structure of the story instead.
Story Sparkers: A creativity Guide for Childrens' writers.......2007-03-22
What a great collection of ideas to start a book or enhance a work in progress! Anyone interested in finding just the right "sparkle" of an idea for a children's book should have this book in their library of resourses.
Tina Perry, Author "Where Do Stars Come From, Nana?"
My Books .......2005-08-19
I ordered a few books from amazon, because I am interested in writing, specifically children's books, and some other things I'm working on in my spare time. I got this book the other day, I'm still on chapter one, already have found it quite useful. Thanks!
Valuable Info!.......2004-10-02
The authors of this book come from the Bailey School Kids adventure series. These stories are great for kids aged 6-12, and are fun to read and generally have around 10,000 words each. I mention this because their success in this area establishes their credibility in writing a book for those aspiring to write and publish children's literature. Their book "Mermaids Don't Run Track" served as an inspiration for my first children's book, "Abby and the Bicycle Caper."
The premise of this book is that children's stories must be well crafted and tell an engaging story to attract the attention of the young reader. Children are bombarded by a variety of entertainment mediums, and it is up to us as writers to produce a product capable of competing with television, sports activities, and video games. I think all of these activities are fine for young people, within limits, but children in the 5-12 age range can be taught to make reading a part of their daily lives-provided they have quality and entertaining reading material placed before them.
The bottom line: Jones and Dadey are good writers. What they present in this book is worth reading and applying.
A pleasure to read, and helpful for new writers!.......2002-08-24
I purchased this book, along with Creating Characters Kids Will Love, at a local bookstore for full price, but you can apparently buy them both here as a set and save money. I recommend doing so! This are by far the best write-for-children books out there, and believe me, I own almost every one on the market!
No book is going to magically turn you into a successful writer--you definitely have to do the work. There are lots of exercises throughout this book, if that's what you're into. I also like the layout--it feels more like a workbook, with the size a little bigger, and more easy to read print than several of the other writing books I own.
Plus, it's just fun to read! Don't be thrown by the title--there's much more to it than just sparking some ideas for stories. A couple basic chapters on the elements of fiction and the writing process mean you don't need to buy another "How to Write" book as well, just to learn about structure. Advice on how to overcome writer's block is included. Also, some information on writing non-fiction children's books, too!
The authors of this book wrote the Adventures of the Bailey School Kids books, and even though that's not my cup of tea (they certainly sell, though, don't they?), I found this guide to be applicable to anyone who wants to write for children. So what are you waiting for?

Book Description
Awards: Will Eisner: Winner 2001 Harvey Award Best Graphic Album of Original Work for Last Day in Vietnam Will Eisner is a master of the comics medium, and when he got together to chat with other masters of the medium, what came of it was a collection of information vital to everyone working in the industry, and indispensable to anyone looking to get into it. Featuring interviews with Jack Kirby, Joe Simon, Gil Kane, Joe Kubert, Jack Davis, Neal Adams, C.C. Beck, Milton Caniff, Gill Fox, Harvey Kurtzman, and distribution guru Phil Seuling, Will Eisner's Shop Talk is chock full of golden tidbits of comics knowledge. Previously serialized in the now long out-of-print Spirit Magazine and Will Eisner's Quarterly, the interviews flow naturally into a compendium of technical secrets, light-hearted anecdotes, and informative history lessons.

Interesting Insights of Old Comics Creators! No Hype........2002-01-31
Since Will Eisner is a such a respected figure in the comics industry, it seems that all of the interviewed gentlemen took their interview seriously. These are interesting interviews about how each artist got started in the comics business, and how they went about their work, as well as the ups and downs of their career struggles. Most of these interviews discuss events that occurred decades earlier. These are not interviews full of fluff and hype, as would appear in contemporary trade magazines that are trying to promote some upcoming comic book product line.
Since Will Eisner is the interviewer, each interviewee seems to be taking him seriously, and respectfully as either a peer or an inspiration. Thus, these comics creators are willing to go a little deeper with their insights and experiences of their careers.
All of the interviews occurred in the early 1980's, so many of the interviewed people have since passed away. But since the subject of conversation is usually about events of the Golden and Silver Age of comics (1935-1975 ROUGHLY), these interviews read like new interviews anyway. Each interview reads like a transcript of two guys sitting around, casually talking about the good old days. So if your idea of the good old days is the Golden Age of comic books, then you will thoroughly enjoy this book.
I picked up this book to read about Gil Kane, Jack Kirby, and Joe Kubert; but I ended up being introduced to the careers of Milton Caniff, Neal Adams, Harvey Kurtzman, and others, folks who I had heard of but had never followed their works before.
So this book gave me many insights and new attitudes about the field of comics creation.
It's also nice that all of the interviews are sprinkled with many b/w photos, pictures and drawings of each interview subject, so reading this book really does become a nice introduction to artists whose work you may not be familiar with.
If you're a serious, adult comics fan, then you will probably enjoy this book!

Help! Your feisty furball is into EVERYTHING! The American Veterinary Medical Association says that there are 64 million cat owners in the United States, and whether you share your home with a feline friend or a feline felon depends on how your cat spends the first year of its life.
Award-winning pet journalist Arden Moore offers hundreds of practical tips to help you raise an indoor cat without losing your sanity, and she presents them in a fun question-and-answer style. Includes advice from leading veterinarians, animal behaviorists, and shelter directors, plus success stories from cat owners.
Customer Reviews:
Helpful Information.......2007-01-19
My daughter recently adopted a kitten and this book was quite helpful to her in caring for the new pet. She had many questions that were answered and she constantly refers to it when situations arise that she needs assistance. This book is great for new parents of kittens.
This covers it all for Cat Lovers!.......2003-01-04
I learned more than I ever thought possible regarding the care of cats. A terrific book, and my only regret is that it was not available some sixty years ago when I started my love affair with cats. I am doubly impressed that the Humane Society of the Unted States has endorsed this terrific owners manual. My hats off to Arden Moore along with thanks for writing such an informative book for all cat owners.
Good, but a bit over the top..........2002-09-07
There is some very valuable advice on how to deal with your kitten. I immediately stopped playing the foot under the covers game with my kitten in order to discourage her from attacking my toes. There are sensible suggestions on how to say "no" to your kitten. And I'm anticipating a move in the next few months, and I think Moore's suggestion to rub a wet towel on your kitten and then rub the towel on the walls of the new house, so that she'll recognize her own scent, will work. On the other hand Moore thinks you ought to keep a first aid kit for one cat that would easily fill the needs of a family of five, she suggests cutting the handles off of paper bags so that kitty won't get herself strangled in them, she suggests making your own scratching post, and gives advice on how to make several toys that pretty much amount to ones you can buy or glorified versions of regular items (socks, a belt from an old robe) that are sure to bring out kitty playfulness without the elaborate Martha Stewart like construction. I was also confused by some of the eating strictures. One table says kittens can't eat dry food until 12 weeks, but the text has kittens eating dry food much earlier. Moore seems to make light of lactose intolerance, and among her kitty treats includes scrambled eggs with margarine and cottage cheese!!! And her kitty chowder seems more like a human treat to me. Counterpointing the interesting suggestion to give your kitten a small piece of raw tuna as an alternative or addition to brushing are chapters on command training, new age therapies and kitty massage. This is fine and cuddly, though I doubt I'll teach my kitten to do much more than sit, if that, and I'm not taking her for acupuncture. This primer is written not so much by a cat lover as a cat fanatic. (Though I admit that if you're going to be a fanatic, it may as well be of cats.) Still I prefer the more practical down to earth advice of Cats for Dummies, than some of the outlandish, occasionally preposterous, cat adulation techniques of the Kitten Owner's manual. Then again, I am going to try the kitty massage.
very impressive.......2001-09-10
I have been a cat owner for over 7 years and there was alot in the book that I was amazed at. I never knew you could train your cat to speak and things. I was able to follow the guide and now my cat speaks! It took alot of treats tho!!!
Cant wait til her next book comes out.
A lifesaver.......2001-07-17
Arden Moore's "The Kitten Owner's Manual" is a highly informative, clear and often entertaining answer book THAT ACTUALLY works. So often I have turned to a pet book to help me care for my new kitten and I've come away confused and at a lost -- for ideas and a few bucks. But with this book, my questions were answered about my kitten's destructive habits, its finicky diet and its nervous behavior whenever strangers come into the home. It's a simple and very helpful book that gave me the solutions I needed.

Customer Reviews:
enjoyable, easy to follow.......2007-03-09
This is a nice straightforward book. Good for the begginner. Does not contain any spells or try to explain a great deal about magic, but does have a good dictionary of magical plants at the back. Focuses more on the gardening aspect but gives advice about different types of magical garden design. I enjoyed reading it but it is more of a starting and reference point than a bible.
A highly readible and easy-to-use account.......2004-11-08
The Charmed Garden: Sacred and Enchanting Plants for the Magically Inclined Herbalist is a straightforward, alphabetical listing of various common plants and their occult or magical applications. An introduction to cultivating a garden of a specific symbolic theme heralds the entries of individual plants; each entry covers the basic theme of the plant, its description, habitat, tips and warning (both magical and of a practical gardening nature), and magical uses. The Charmed Garden is primarily a resource concerning magical properties, more than a gardening refernce, and is meant as a supplementary resource specifically for experienced gardeners. A highly readible and easy-to-use account.

Usability design is one of the most important--yet often least attractive--tasks for a Web developer. In Don't Make Me Think, author Steve Krug lightens up the subject with good humor and excellent, to-the-point examples.
The title of the book is its chief personal design premise. All of the tips, techniques, and examples presented revolve around users being able to surf merrily through a well-designed site with minimal cognitive strain. Readers will quickly come to agree with many of the book's assumptions, such as "We don't read pages--we scan them" and "We don't figure out how things work--we muddle through." Coming to grips with such hard facts sets the stage for Web design that then produces topnotch sites.
Using an attractive mix of full-color screen shots, cute cartoons and diagrams, and informative sidebars, the book keeps your attention and drives home some crucial points. Much of the content is devoted to proper use of conventions and content layout, and the "before and after" examples are superb. Topics such as the wise use of rollovers and usability testing are covered using a consistently practical approach.
This is the type of book you can blow through in a couple of evenings. But despite its conciseness, it will give you an expert's ability to judge Web design. You'll never form a first impression of a site in the same way again. --Stephen W. Plain
Topics covered:
- User patterns
- Designing for scanning
- Wise use of copy
- Navigation design
- Home page layout
- Usability testing
Book Description
Five years and more than 100,000 copies after it was first published, it's hard to imagine anyone working in Web design who hasn't read Steve Krug's "instant classic" on Web usability, but people are still discovering it every day. In this second edition, Steve adds three new chapters in the same style as the original: wry and entertaining, yet loaded with insights and practical advice for novice and veteran alike. Don't be surprised if it completely changes the way you think about Web design.
Three New Chapters!
- Usability as common courtesy -- Why people really leave Web sites
- Web Accessibility, CSS, and you -- Making sites usable and accessible
- Help! My boss wants me to ______. -- Surviving executive design whims
"I thought usability was the enemy of design until I read the first edition of this book. Don't Make Me Think! showed me how to put myself in the position of the person who uses my site. After reading it over a couple of hours and putting its ideas to work for the past five years, I can say it has done more to improve my abilities as a Web designer than any other book.
In this second edition, Steve Krug adds essential ammunition for those whose bosses, clients, stakeholders, and marketing managers insist on doing the wrong thing. If you design, write, program, own, or manage Web sites, you must read this book." -- Jeffrey Zeldman, author of Designing with Web Standards
Customer Reviews:
A thin book with everything you need.......2007-10-13
This book is excellent. It's very accessible and easy reading without being superficial. It's not a usability cookbook, it actually makes you understand its principles and gives you critical sense to analyze any website and see what's wrong (or right) with it.
I just couldn't find any negative points about the book.
eye-opening analysis.......2007-10-07
I'm not a designer and I would by nature make many of the mistakes Krug points out in this great book. Krug's reasoning and reasoned approach that he presents in this book is invaluable.
Fantastic - Easy to Understand and Use.......2007-10-06
This book on internet usability has not only changed the way I design websites, it has changed my thinking on many areas of life. The other day I was asked to review a print media item and I kept saying to the designer - "Don't Make Me Think!" The idea of designing easy to use, simple to understand websites is so simple that it is often overlooked. This is a fantastic read. I'm halfway through my second reading of it.
Mandatory reading for developing on the Web.......2007-09-28
As it promises, Steve Krug's Don't Make Me Think: 2nd Edition, is a quick, but extremely usable, guide to Web usability and design. The book took me less than a day to read (less than 3 hours), but has become, in my mind, a requirement for even beginners (like myself) of Web design. Since everyone who develops for the Web should have some idea of design and usability, this book should really be a mandatory requirement for said work.
In short, there's no reason not to read this book if you're developing for the Web (writing content, programming, etcetera), or working with a team that does so.
Good content, poor binding.......2007-09-27
Others have said that Krug's book (2nd edition) is for those with little experience. That is exactly why I found it so useful. There are lots of concepts that are common sense, sure. But until they were pointed out I had not even considered them. His point about the usefulness of tabs was particularly useful to me. I am creating a site now and will incorporate them into my design.
My only complaint is with the binding. The book was so poorly produced that pages began to loosen and fall out before I was finished with the first reading. I am now looking for a big rubber band to hold everything together. I just hate it when that happens.

Inspirational yet honest, and always rhythmically rollicking, Oh, the Places You'll Go! is a perfect sendoff for children, 1 to 100, entering any new phase of their lives. Kindergartners, graduate students, newlyweds, newly employeds--all will glean shiny pearls of wisdom about the big, bountiful future. The incomparable Dr. Seuss rejoices in the potential everyone has to fulfill their wildest dreams: "You'll be on your way up! / You'll be seeing great sights! / You'll join the high fliers / who soar to high heights." At the same time, he won't delude the starry-eyed upstart about the pitfalls of life: "You can get all hung up / in a prickle-ly perch. / And your gang will fly on. / You'll be left in a Lurch."
But fear not! Dr. Seuss, with his inimitable illustrations and exhilarating rhymes, is convinced ("98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed") that success is imminent. As long as you remember "to be dexterous and deft. And NEVER mix up your right foot with your left," things should work out. (All ages) --Emilie Coulter

The Genius of Dr. Seuss, not just for children.......2007-10-09
This is a beautiful and sensitive book.
I gave it to my "daughter" when she turned 18. I also put it in our school library.
It says exactly what people want to tell the kids they love when they go out into the world. You will have rough spots, but you can make it.
"Life Lessons For Dummies".......2007-09-20
The all-time BEST book by any author for any age. How true to life this classic story is. Could only be sequeled by "Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are"? A must for every household.
Not just for kids..........2007-08-26
You thought the good doctor only wrote books for kids...
You probably also thought that both the story lines in the Disney movies were for the children, too...
This is a great book for adults, students, and children. It's a wonderful gift for anyone taking a turn in their life.
So, if you have not read it recently, get a copy today. And if you have read it, get a copy for a friend who has changed jobs (or even lost a job), been promoted up the ladder, graduated from high school or college, or had another change in their life.
Remind them of "The Places They'll Go!"
Love Dr. Seuss.......2007-08-23
Dr. Seuss was my favorite author when I was a child...I now share him with others...I'm giving it as a gift to others whom reach a certain level in their business lives...
great surprise.......2007-08-13
my girlfriends all time favorite book and now she has it a deluxe edition that came in great condition
Book Description
As he is driving home from a minister's conference, Baptist minister Don Piper collides with a semi-truck that crosses into his lane. He is pronounced dead at the scene. For the next 90 minutes, Piper experiences heaven where he is greeted by those who had influenced him spiritually. He hears beautiful music and feels true peace. Back on earth, a passing minister who had also been at the conference is led to pray for Don even though he knows the man is dead. Piper miraculously comes back to life and the bliss of heaven is replaced by a long and painful recovery. For years Piper kept his heavenly experience to himself. Finally, however, friends and family convinced him to share his remarkable story.

Incredible story of a man's faith in God!.......2007-10-19
He was pronounced dead, and yet, he was alive! His life returned in another world, heaven, for 90 minutes. This experience changed his life and many others who read or was told about this incredible event. It is a story of faith, of hope for the rest of us. This man was not pain free as he returned to this world, he suffered physically. But his spirit was alive and his faith changed many, many lifes. You won't forget it and it will change your life forever!
Not so much.......2007-10-19
You think you're going to get a BOOK about the afterlife, but no, you get one chapter, and then the rest of the book about his religious beliefs. It was disappointing.
Could NOT put this book down! Awesome Book!.......2007-10-19
I don't really know what led me to reading this book to begin with, but I will tell you that once I started reading it - I couldn't put it down! I expected the description of heaven to be glorious. The scripture at the beginning of each chapter was comforting. I felt like writing each verse down as it's easy to forget! I was pleasantly surprised by all the lessons and the personal account of Don's recovery and the lessons he still had to learn. Any person who is struggling with a terminal illness, has recently lost a loved one or has sustained any big injuries NEEDS TO READ THIS BOOK! I will buy several and hand them out. I finished reading this book this AM and have already lent this book to my BOSS! This book reads well and is written in such a manner as if Don was he's telling you in person! Would recommend this book to anyone - Christian or non-Christian.
God chosen one? REALLY!.......2007-10-18
I picked up this book because I was facing yet another heart cath and thought what a good read for me. I also had a NDE and was sent back to human life. I enjoyed the book until the last chapter. SO, ONLY Don was pick by God to tell of his experience in heaven? Others like me are making our experience up? Excuse me, our God doesn't choose just one man to serve him and tell of the afterlife or of HIS love for us. Self serving to make money is what Don Piper is doing here folks. God loves us all. Piper will be in my prayers.

Love it!.......2007-10-19
I have been wanting to get the Bible on cd so that I could listen to it on my drive to and from work. I had seen The Bible Experience on amazon and itunes - and was excited that it was a little more intriquing than one boring monotone voice. I hesitated for awhile because I wasn't sure that all the different voices and music would be too corny and kid-like (I'm 23).
I finally decided to buy it on Amazon, and I love it! It is not too corny/dramatic. I challenge anyone who has a commute to work, or is on the road a lot to get these cd's. Fill your mind with God's word instead of morning radio talk shows, etc. If you want to hear a sample of what it sounds like - go to itunes and look it up.
Inspired By The Bible Experience: The New Testament.......2007-10-17
Inspired By the Bible Experience: The New Testament is the most remarkable audio Bible I have ever heard. From the very beginning, my attention was captivated by the sounds that add to the sense of reality. My sense of hearing was completely engaged not only with the actual action of each chapter, but also with all of the background activity that adds life to the verses. Additionally, there were some soul-stirring performances. At times, I felt what the performers must have felt - certainly the intent of a true artist. All of the part selections were well made...but Blair Underwood as Jesus...BRILLIANT.
LISTEN TO JESUS!.......2007-10-13
I've listened to nothing but Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John in The Bible Experience mp3 version for many weeks, over and over! I can't stop! It's INCREDIBLE! Did Jesus really say THAT?! Was He really that hard on the religious leaders of His day? How could anybody miss what He was saying-- He repeated Himself continually!
Listen to Jesus's Words spoken with the tones and inflections He probably used! His personality will leap from the headphones!
As a woman, I find it amazing that Jesus never rebuked the women He encountered, even the sinning ones. Crowds of women, including wives and mothers, followed Jesus all over the place, taking care of Him and the apostles with their own wealth and possessions. He says over & over, "He who loves children, or house, or family, more than Me, is not worthy of Me, he cannot be my disciple" etc. Women, too, "left all and followed Him"! How different that teaching is from today, where 'The Church' feels obligated to remind women of 'their place'! 'Their place', Jesus says, is right there next to HIM!
Who did He first appear to after His resurrection? Not the apostles, but the women! Later on, He rebuked the apostles sharply for being cowards, but not the women!
Listen to Jesus' Words as He speaks to the apostles about children! Can any pastor turn children away from his sanctuary after hearing THAT? Woe to you, arrogant church leaders, who detest the presence of children, and wince at a baby's cry! You enjoy the sound of your own voices more than simple obedience to Christ!
Listen to Jesus! It will expose the Christian phoniness we're bombarded with every day! It will ruin you for any other kind of teaching! Hallelujah! No wonder He was labeled a heretic! No wonder the religious leaders were so infuriated! His words were like slaps in the face!
Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees.... in our OWN day! LISTEN TO JESUS!
This CD package Brings the Bible to Life.......2007-09-06
This CD set delivers the New Testament in a way that spoke to me. It is more than a Bible reading but a story that comes to life with the reading of each chapter. Listening to the voice inflection, tone and tempo married with the background sound effects provides a backdrop for you to visualize the time, location and circumstances that this biblical story takes place. Enjoy the word and discover new insight through the experience of this CD set. It is well worth the money and I can not wait to hear the Old Testament too. [...]
Awesome!!!.......2007-08-30

Book Description
In October 1985, at age 27, Danny Meyer, with a good idea and scant experience, opened what would become one of New York City's most revered restaurants--Union Square Cafe. Little more than twenty years later, Danny is the CEO of one of the world's most dynamic restaurant organizations, which includes 11 unique dining establishments, each at the top of its game. How has he done it? How has he consistently beaten the odds and set the competitive bar in one of the toughest trades around?
In this landmark book, Danny shares the lessons he's learned while developing the winning recipe for doing the business he calls "enlightened hospitality." This innovative philosophy emphasizes putting the power of hospitality to work in a new and counterintuitive way: The first and most important application of hospitality is to the people who work for you, and then, in descending order of priority, to the guests, the community, the suppliers, and the investors. This way of prioritizing stands the more traditional business models on their heads, but Danny considers it the foundation of every success that he and his restaurants have achieved.
Full of behind-the-scenes history on the creation of Danny's most famous restaurants and the anecdotes, advice, and lessons he has accumulated on his long and ecstatic journey to the top of the American restaurant scene, Setting the Table is a treasure trove of innovative insights that are applicable to any business or organization.
Service with a Smile: Dishing with Danny Meyer
Is the customer always right? According to Danny Meyer, one of America's leading restauranteurs, the answer is no--but "they must always feel heard." Named one of the most influential New Yorkers of 2006 by New York magazine, Meyer, the founder and co-owner of 11 of Manhattan's most influential restaurants, including Union Square Cafe, Gramercy Tavern, Tabla, The Modern, Blue Smoke, and Shake Shack, has penned Setting the Table: The Transforming Power of Hospitality, a business book that reads like food lit and equal part personal memoir. Amazon.com senior editor Brad Thomas Parsons took some time from his daily long-distance day-dreaming of Shake Shack and caught up with the ever-gracious Danny Meyer over e-mail to ask about his new book, the Food Network, his favorite cookbooks, insider tips on dining out, and much more.
