This is a great book for an English novice.

Don't buy this from amazon.......2004-01-22

The calendar isn't fantastic and unless you really like the Simpsons you shouldn't buy it from here. Amazon.com charges way too much for this calender. I purchased the exact same calender in a local mall for only $3. It's much better than the 10.99 price that amazon.com charges.

Okay....wish it was better........2004-01-06

Being a Simpsons fan, I was a little dissapointed. The 2004 Simpsons day calendar is okay, the cover is the most interesting thing you're going to see in this entire purchase. I should have kept the box, it was more interesting. Basically each day there's a Simpsons picture and a trivia question, I guess I didn't read the title before I bought this item - it said the "TRIVIAL SIMPSONS 2004 366- DAY BOX CALENDAR". So it's all about trivia and even smart Simpsons fans of mine couldn't get some of the answers correctly, which makes it difficult, and therefore not too fun.

Other than that, for the life of me, I can't get this calendar to stand, it keeps falling over. It's lesser quality than other day calendars I've owned. It's supposed to snap and stand there and it just doesn't.

This calendar would be a deal if you get it at 1/2 off or more in the upcoming months. Besides that, it's not too good of an investment and probably won't keep you entertained for an entire year. If I had to grade it, it'd be a C+, B-.

simple-minded, lacks information.......2005-06-12

This book has some good principles, but it is repetitive, and after a while it becomes silly. Whenever you get to a point where you want some hard information, she gives you the names of a few books where you can find it, which is the one redeeming quality of this book. I cannot believe it took her more than a couple of weeks (or less) to write this. It is mostly white space, even when there are words.

Positive, practical advice and training tips that work!.......2004-04-13

Using a postive and respectful approach to dog training and communication, Adams has compiled "must have" manual for new dog people, as well as experienced guardians. It's been several years since I raised a puppy, and with the new addition to my family, Ms. Adams' "How To Say It. . ." has been the most frequently referenced volume in my fairly extensive doggy library.

Puppies aren't the only topic covered, however. There are chapters on many issues, including: adding a second dog, adopting an adult dog or puppy, traveling and training your dog; health care issues as critical as diet, vaccination, and euthanasia; and specific behavior issues are tackled, such as jumping on people, leash problems, separation anxiety and counter surfing. . .and so much more.

"How To Say It. . ." is at the top of my short list of recommended dog books.

How to Say It to Your Dog is a rich handbook filled with practical tips, advice and resources. I love the author's positive and holistic approach, and how she incorporates new research (such as the new recommendations against automatic annual revaccinations) in an engaging, fun, and helpful way. 4 paws up!

Another great book from this author.......2003-10-28

Janine Adams has done it again: written a book about dogs in clear, concise language that any *person* can understand. This book makes a fabulous addition to any dog owner's library.

This new, year 2000 book contains 160 pages with more than 300 large, sharp, full color photos, and prices of more than 1,200 collectible bears. There's a nice introduction and plenty of useful text in this book. Topics range from Avon Full O'Beans, to Chilly Bears, Godiva, Harley-Davidson, Paddington, Ty, Beanie, Winnie-the-Poo and Yogi Bear. There's information on Bear Trends, Tips for Buying and Selling Bears, Using the Internet, Tips for selling on E-Bay. Also data on current lingo, bear condition, counterfeit bears and a list of internet resources. Very interesting and valuable for collectors of little bears.
