Delivery was a blast(2 days). Packaging was perfect, and the book was new as promised . This book has many great essays and written works by famous writers and various other people. It has guidelines for writing essays and speeches, also it has language visuals e.g. cartoons, ads, media, e-mails. Detailed explaination of every topic plus writing assignment and critical thinking. Great book for college studies and teaching.
A Textbook I Actually Enjoyed!.......2000-09-28
I used this book, coupled with some dry, boring, pretentious linguistics book, in my Anthropology class "Language and Culture." Goshgarian did a wonderful job putting it together. It would be a great tool for any student of sociolinguistics. Some of the books for sociolinguistics have forgotten who they're writing to; they try so hard to sound intelligent and end up making themselves look foolish when nobody understands. This book however, completely avoids that. Goshgarian should be applauded for this work. I can't wait for the next edition to come out!

Someone handed this off to me in the shop and it is certifiably pretty lame. Cartoony, hardly tattoo-looking (shading anyone?) and just plain goofy. Never even looked at the CD, as the book was proof enough that it was dumb.
I SUPPOSE one could redraw the ideas into something viable and cool, or you could just find the original Jerry pieces from which these were homogenized from.
WEAK. Save your money.

This book has a good selection of classic tattoo designs, and I would consider it a good value for the price. The artwork is good, not amazing, but certainly adequate. Each design is offered in color and in linework. If you're looking for a good, all-purpose book of flash, and not necessarily a lot of authentic Sailor Jerry stuff, this book (and CD ROM!) is a good choice.

I bought this book expecting to find "old school" tattoo flash and could have not have been more disapointed. It took me all of five minuets to repackage this book for a return.
The examples are cartoony at best, more like temporary tattoos for a child than a good reference for an adult.

How many pretty pictures do you want to pay for?.......2004-08-06
About half of this 64-page book is actual training advice. The other half consists of filler in the form of pretty dog pictures. For $1 more you can get Shirlee Kalstone's "How to Housebreak Your Dog in Seven Days" -- 70 pages of training advice (similar to Kelly's) plus background not in Kelly's book that will be useful to many readers.
Highly Recommendable!.......2000-04-27
I recently bought a Jack Russell Terrier, and anybody that owns one knows why I needed this book. My puppy is very fiesty and head-strong, which means he was not easy to train. I didn't know where to turn and almost thought about selling him because he was too much to handle. I finally decided I would send him to obedience school, but in the mean time I would buy a book to perhaps teach myself a little something about housebreaking new puppies. I browsed through numerous books, many sounding too much alike, which made it all the more difficult to decide. When I came to this book, after breezing through several pages, I realized this was the book for me. Easy to understand, and the illustrations helped out a whole bunch. I immediately started using the many tips they offered and within days started to see a change in my puppy. I couldn't believe it! The book is not real long, which is great for those of us that work. It's easy to read and comprehend and apply to any situation. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, easy-to-read book loaded with great tips!

Book Description
In this volume, Erik Christiansen uses Alexandrian coin hoards to explore the use of money in Egypt from its conquest by Augustus in 30 BC to Diocletian's currency reform in AD 296. Although these finds, with their wide array of Graeco-Roman and Alexandrian reverses, have traditionally been classified as a part of Greek coinage, he demonstrates clearly that they belong to the Roman imperial coinage. The hoards also show that Roman Egypt enjoyed a widespread monetized economy, in addition to the credit system described in extant papyri. The relative abundance of such documents provides Christiansen with a good supplemental source of information for his conclusions. And since financial administration is known to have been quite uniform throughout the empire, this book provides a useful window on not only Rome's shifting economic fortunes but also monetary policy in other provinces, which did not leave behind the rich heritage of coins and documents that Egypt did.
