The cover is irresistible! If you're like us, you'll hate to turn the page, but you'll be glad you did since the contents will surprise you. All the pictures are beautiful and what you learn about the various animals will inform and delight you.
Book Description
For forty years, the Dallas Cowboys have been one of the most glamorous and fascinating teams in the NFL and all of American sport. In this book, author
Brad Sham, the Voice of the Cowboys and a member of the team's radio broadcasts for 25 years, shares behind-the-scenes insights from his unique bird's eye view.
Customer Reviews:
NICE COLLECTION OF STORIES ABOUT AMERICA'S TEAM.......2005-06-12
THIS IS A NICE EASY READ BY BRAD SHAM, SPORTCASTER FOR THE COWBOYS. HE COVERS MANY PLAYERS WHO ARE IN THE "RING OF HONOR" AND MANY WHO DESERVE TO BE THERE. I ENJOYED THIS BOOK, JUST WISH IT WAS MORE DETAILED. BUT YET A NICE SLICE OF AMERICA'S TEAM. FOR ALL COWBOY FANS.
It's a Decent Read for Cowboys Fans but Nothing New.......2004-02-11
I'm a lifelong Cowboys fan and a collector of football books so I ordered this lesser known title after hearing about it on the Cowboys Radio Network. If you've never listened to the Cowboys radio broadcasts, the author Brad Sham has been broadcasting with them since the 1970's and is a familiar voice for Cowboys faithful. This book is actually pretty small and I would probably only recommend it as a cheaper used book because the little content that it does provide are nice memories but nothing new for Cowboys fans. If you're looking for football strategy this is the wrong book as most of the stories are about past personalities and play by plays. Some of the better chapters include a section about the Zero Club (Blaine Nye, Larry Cole, et al), and a chapter that covers the noteable quarterbacks in Cowboys history and the pressure of playing QB in Dallas. My personal favorite was the chapter about Tex Schramm which is probably the most revealing personality profile in the book because the author had a lot of past experience with him and even interviewed him for the book before he passed away. Landry usually gets the most attention so it was nice to see a segment dedicated to Tex. Overall, it's a fun quick read that any true Cowboys fan will enjoy but if Dallas isn't your team, it's only recommended for hardcore NFL fans.

How retarded, creepy, and stupid!!!.......2006-12-07
I'm Japanese girl working on my master's degree in my university in California. Most of American men who like Japanese girls have this ONE.
...Awful.Retarded.Even irredeemably foolish. They are fool. This book is much more FOOL. Makes you guys look more FOOLISH. Every phrases are OUT OF DATE like "Are you from grand-pa or grand-ma generation?". And all love words are creepy or useless. So retarded.
If you use one of those phrases in front of Japanese girl, they would think "YOU FREAK!!".
This is very useful.......2005-07-19
I have been living in Japan for a year and a half now. After showing this book to my Japanese teacher and radom people at the bars, this book is very useful. Maybe 1% of the phrases are out of date, but other than that it is a great source of casual phrases. It is very difficult to find a book that teaches the casual side of Japanese... my teacher is even bent on teaching my the "-masu" or polite way of speaking Japanese. But as anyone who has tried talking to Japanese usind the polite form will realize that it won't get you very far, and it probably earn you some laughs. This book has really helped speak more naturally in the bar setting.
terrible.......2004-12-29
This book is pretty much absolutely useless. It is outdated and not easy to use. Don't waste your money. A lot of the japanese is wrong. You will most likely sound really stupid if you use the expressions in this book. It is a cheap shot to get your money.

Making out? Not so much.......2007-04-21
This book is titled "Making Out in Japanese," but that's not really what it's about. This has the most basic phrases and words that you'll need to get by. I've been studying Japanese for 4 years in school and I've still been able to pull some good information out of this book. It has text written in Romaji (English letters of Japanese words) as well as Japanese kanakanji (with furigana).
This is a great, great book and I recommend it 100% to anyone less than fluent.
***Also, the last section of the book does talk about "romantic" relationships, so I guess the title sort of works ^_^
Interesting and funny but not useful to the beginner.......2007-03-07
If you are reading this review...that is how most reviews start out. But this is a book worht the used or new price. The only thing I warn is that you should be advised...wait...I mean warned that it is geared towards someone who knows jaanese intermediately.
As a beginner to japanese and teaching myself at home in my spare time...I enjoyed it. It will not be that useful to me now sitting in a rural town where there has not been a japanese person evere. but I am digressing. It is good to read through and gives you some knowledge that if you do not use now, you can in the future.
You might ask "so waht?". Well you are rght. This book really is a side track for those who learn languages. It is not osmehting that will teach you much, but it gives you something to waste time on. it's funny and just like the usa. It might work. The cheesy lines in here. Depends on if the guy or girl likes you or not.
The other reviewers who said it worked on their "japanese wife". Are really just trying to sell you their used book. If you think this book is going to get you a japanese mate...I'm sorry to say you are wasting your time. but if you feel like you have the extra few bucks to burn. It could be an interesting way to spend some time.
If you know japanese and want to make some osrt of a phrase expansion mentally. This could be a total waste of time, because in english I have never said any of the things in this book and can't see why anyone would in japanes. It is just too structured and fake.
It is one of those "help you get a japanese mate" books. And it comes out of the early 90s late 80s . A time when people would fall for such dating books.
I actually grew up with ERika geers the author of this book. It is her sense of humor,a nd do not take it seriously. If you are in a good financial position this book can give you some laughs. If you are on a tight budget or younger than 30 don't waste your money...unless you want to.
hey, it's up to you.
Good Luck with your language studies.
Enjoy.
For any Traveler!!.......2007-01-26
Making Out Series Books are the BEST language books that i have ever used. Using the K.I.S.S method (keep, it, simple, stupid) this book makes it easy to learn everyday Japanese quickly. Easy index lets you find what you need to say fast aswell. This book is the only book that is always in my bag. I liked it so much i bought the Chinese version (seriously)!! Great price so if something happens to it you won't break the bank buying a new one.
In a nutshell - If you learn all the phrases in this book, then you will have a very very good understanding of Japanese Language!
Oh Yeah!! Makes a great gift for Japanese people too!! With the Kanji in it Japanese people will be able to read that to say it in english. Which helps out both of you!!!
The missing link in your Japanese conversation ability.......2006-03-23
I strongly recommend this book to the Japanese learner who is somewhat advanced (JLPT level 3 or stronger ability), and who wants to improve their conversation ability. And pick up chicks.
Yes, there are good lines to use on women (or men), and most of them are not out of date slang or anything. Personally, I'm not one of the foreigners in Japan that lurks in the dark corners of bars, but I've found the book extremely helpful in filling in the gaps of my textbook Japanese knowledge. The book doesn't actually focus on cheesy lines for getting a date--there's useful expressions for all walks of daily life.
However, if you are a novice Japanese learner, or have studied less than a year, I really do not recommend picking up the book just yet. The book just has lines that help you start conversations, slang you otherwise wouldn't know, or fill in awkward pauses.
Excellent book, thanks! Helped me meet my wife.........2004-10-12
Hey I liked this book a lot. One of the first ones I bought when I moved to Honolulu, Hawaii back in the early 90's, and it helped me meet my wife, who is from Kobe... (who's still my wife)...
So, the one liners are helpful, and accurate .. of course you need more than just these, but they're a great place to start, and easy to learn. Great format and interesting to read.
Funny writing, clever and interesting..

Customer Reviews:
Nice designs.......2007-10-05
I wanted some design ideas for use in polymer and metal clays, and I came across the Dover CD series. I've purchased several and like all of them. This book is particularly good for women's faces. I like portraits and have begun making pins with faces as the central motifs. This book should help me create some new styles. I'm very pleased. The CD was easy to install and use. It's been a while since I used a clip art program--it was on floppy disks then!!--but I found it easier to navigate with this system than the older one.
Great Designs and Easy to Use.......2006-11-10
I bought this and two other Dover design books with CD-ROMs and am completely satisfied with all of them. In fact, there are so many good designs that the only problem was trying to decide which ones were my favorites to use.
These are completely easy to use, just put the CD-ROM in the computer and it does the rest. I'm not the most tech-savvy person, so if say it was easy, it really was easy.
Although I bought these to use to dress up wedding invitations and programs, I can definitely see myself using these in the future for other projects. Great buys.
Standard Dover Fare.......2006-02-25
A decent book, typical Dover publication, a few repeats from other books but most is new stuff. The cd works great and speeds up usage. Overall I was pleased with the selection.

Customer Reviews:
This book is a MUST HAVE for your aquarium library!.......2000-08-25
If you are at all interested in sea anemones and anemone fishes (clownfishes) then this book is THE definitive book on anemone and clownfish identification. Dr. Fautin and Dr. Allen make a point in saying that this book is NOT primarily about the captive care of anemones or anemone fishes (though there is a small section about their basic care needs; however, they say to look elsewhere for more detailed aquarium care) but rather, it is about the identification, distribution, biology of the sea anemones, the life history of anemone fishes, and the interactions between fish and sea anemones. There is no other book that has as much field research on sea anemones and anemone fishes than this book.
The biggest point that Fautin and Allen make about anemones is that they should not be harvested for the average aquarist. Even the most expert aquarist out there has trouble keeping anemones for more than 5 years (there are exceptions of course and hopefully, these exceptions will spread). But anemone fishes can be kept extremely well without anemones. They will even breed without them.
The best aquarium care book about clownfishes and anemones is Joyce Wilkerson's book called Clownfishes. I also highly recommend this book as it is thorough in it's descriptions on the care and husbandry of clownfishes.
Don't buy this book to learn how to keep Anemones.......2000-08-11
While this book provides good reference material for identifying anemone fish & sea anemones it provides *no* useful material about how to keep clownfish or anemones alive and healthy in a reef tank.
If your looking for a ref. book for identification of the creatures this book is fine. I was looking for a good reference on how to keep anemones, and this book was of no help whatever in that regard.
Buy this book.......1999-12-15
Daphne Fautin and Gerald Allen have created the definitive reference for clowfishes and host anemones, at least from the standpoint of the marine aquarist.
Although the text of the first edition of this book is online, it lacks many of the pictures and the identification charts. The physical book is well worth the money.
The aquarist interested in keeping clownfishes and anemones should also have Joyce Wilkerson's book, Clownfishes, and John Tullock's book, The Natural Reef Aquarium. Do *NOT* attempt to keep anemones if you are a beginning aquarist.

Gorgeous pictures! A small gem........1999-03-08
I got my copy when I was in Kyoto, in a small tea shop which could as well have been one of the ones pictured here. (The rest of the series is good, too.) This book features exclusively photos of the interior courtyards, often with bamboo or groomed grave. Tatami mats, some snow. Classic gardens, and more modern ones. Now I want a garden like these -- not to mention a courtyard to put one in! (Note: publisher, ISBN, and title are correct, but the author is instead Mizuno Katsuhiko.)
