Customer Reviews:
This is a very good book, cool illustrations.......2002-01-15
I fount this a very well Illustrated book, the pictures are incredible, and I liked the way to find the tracks they are located int the top corner of the book so when you move quickly among pages you can easily find any track...
Considering that this is a pocket guide, it is very complete, I found it very well for beginners, because it is not complicated to locate and identify tracks.
tracker.......2000-02-26
I found this small inexpensive book a worthwile purchase. The drawings for tracks were't very informative, however pictures of the species are excellent. With the brief descriptions of the animals reads more like a pocket field guide than a tracking manual.

Book Description
Animal Tracks and Signs was first published in English in the 1970s, and immediately established itself as an all-time classic. Totally unique in its accessible, down-to-earth approach and detailed coverage of more than 200 creatures, it is the only book in print that enables readers to determine which animals have passed through the countryside by examining the traces they have left behind, opening up a captivating new world that might otherwise remain unseen. Whether following footprints in mud, sand, or snow; feeding marks on cones, nuts, trees, and animal remains; homes and hiding places above and below ground; or feathers, pellets, and droppings, readers are taught how to identify the bird or mammal that has been before them, aided by hundreds of beautiful, informative colour photographs, line drawings, and diagrams, and clear descriptions of the anatomy, behaviour, movement patterns, and habitat of different species. Quick-reference plate sections compare actual-size prints, pellets, and droppings for fast identification on the move, covering such diverse wildlife as the shrew, hedgehog, fox, elk, and bear; the sparrow, kestrel, and eagle owl. This new reissued edition includes a new Foreword by Ray Mears, who has found this book to be an invaluable point of reference throughout his career, and recommends it to students on his Bushcraft and Survival courses.

SICILY REDISCOVERED !.......2007-08-31
I had visited Sicily several times but the Frommer's Sicily (Frommer's Complete) has given me a new insight to areas and things to do in Sicily.
Congratulations !
I recall my first Frommer's book was Europe on 10 Dollars a Day !!!!!!
Fact-packed book with boring layout........2007-05-21
A nice book about Sicilly, with almost all information one may need. But for a multimedia savvy reader the layout of this book is a bit boring and drab.
I am planning to make a boat trip to several destinations like Malta and Tunisia. One of the major port one will arrive taking ferry from Malta on Sicilly is Pozzallo, hardly mentioned at all in the book. This book is a bit too rigid in the travel framework it has laid for itself.
For Sicily, this is the definite winner.......2004-06-05
I had this guide as a back-up to my conventional choice of DK Eyewitness. DK let me down completely, and I had to rely on Frommer - and boy was I lucky I bought this book.
You may argue with the style of writing (for many, it is too patronizing and too prescriptive), but you cannot argue that they have done their reserch and then some more. If you are on a mission to set the world straight and if everything smelling of America appals you, you will not like it: Lonely Planet will make you happier. However, if you seek reliable information for your trip and generously extensive descriptions, Frommer's is your guide.
Good maps, and detailed (if very personal) descriptions for lodging and restaurants. Practical info is as good as you can get in often unpredictable and laid-back Italian south. Info about driving in Italy is honest. Writing style is lively and positive; you get overall sense of authors enjoying themselves and really being in love with the island.
This is Frommer's first guide to Sicily, and first guides are not always very strong - but this one is definitely a major success.
Frommer's does not often come as top of the list in my guidebook recommendations, but this is one occasion where it does so with flying colors.
I got the inside scoop on everything about Sicily!!.......2003-08-21
The color fold-out map was useful in my journeys to Sicily's many historical sites and architectural monuments. This guide is all I needed in Sicily and covered all of my top destinations, including Palermo, Catania, Syracuse, and more!

Excellence.......2005-01-18
Of the availible health and fitness books, the Guide to Body Sculpting sets a new standard for what health conscious people are looking for in an exercise book. It is informative and easy to follow. The information presented is great for beginners or experienced. The numerous illustrations make the instructions even easier to follow and enhance the book over all. This is a great book for anybody looking to start or continue a healthy lifestyle.
Finally, a SOLID resource!.......2005-01-18
As a current strength and conditioning professional, I am delighted to see a book that provides credible knowledge to health and fitness consumers. With the plethora of information out on "how to shed pounds in day" it is relieving to know that I can refer my clients to this book without worrying about directing them to the latest fad in weight loss. This book is MUST HAVE for those who need sound, professional advice on strength training, or body sculpting.
Excellent Book!.......2005-01-12
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Body Sculpting is written by Patrick Hagerman, who was the personal trainer of the year several years ago. Without a doubt, he has only improved since then. This book addresses the total body, and provides enough exercises to keep the reader busy for a lifetime. This is perfect for both the beginner or advanced exerciser. The author really shares his knowledge, giving unique movements to target muscles in ways the average person won't think about. If you're just starting a workout program or have been working out for years but are ready for some improvement, this is the book for you!

Pot-Bellied Pigs as Your new Family Pet.......2000-08-24
Michael Taylor has all the basics in this 192 page book, including health, selection, and training. What I found disappointing was his repeated use of the same pigs in different photos (photos about 1 in 3 pages), and to some extent full pages of pig cartoons, and also wide strips of color on the sides of the pages. It has a good index, although the titles in the sections are not as easy to spot, due to a two column lay out. Still, for those seeking pig knowledge, the information is there, and it is a good starter book.

A good resource for basic information on Folk Art.......2006-08-17
This book tries to cover a lot of ground on a very broad and subtle topic. Unfortunately, no one can really become an expert on American Folk Art by simply reading this or any other book. The book does provide a good overview of the various collecting areas of American Folk Art and might be a good place to start for someone new to the field.

Customer Reviews:
Well organized.......2007-08-25
I have to disagree with one of the reviewers. The book IS organized by month. Each chapter is dedicated to a particular type of plant and then organized by month. For example, chapter 1 is Annuals with instructions on when to plant and what care to give by month. I found the book to be well organized with lots of good gardening tips and problem solving info.
misleading title.......2007-04-19
If I had examined this book in a store, I would not have purchased it. I was expecting a monthly list of what to do in your Florida garden. Instead, there are ten sections with Jan. through Dec. in each one, so that you have to go to the index to find a plant and then to it's monthly guide. I already have many garden books that I can use in that way. If the book had been organized by month with subsections for bulbs, annuals, etc listed under each month, it would be much more user friendly.
Just what it says........2006-08-17
Not big enough to discuss the flora. Just how, when and why.

Book Description
This work focuses on Anglican mission and women's education in Palestine in the period from 1888 till 1948. As part of the "enlightenment movement" the project was initiated by British women educational pioneers, who influenced women to carry out the creed of academic training for girls also in colonial areas.
While the educational profile of the pre-World War One schools mainly focused on modernisation of the domestic role, during the British Mandate the highly educated Anglican women teachers had two aims for their work: To create a peaceful multi-cultural environment in a society characterised by religious and ethnic strife and secondly to introduce a modern feminine ideal to Christian, Muslim and Jewish middle-and upper class girls.
This study contributes to our knowledge of the Anglican missionary project, the role of women misionaries/educators and the history of Palestine.
