After searching through many guidebooks, I settled for TimeOut, and let me tell you, I am glad that I did.

This book gave me everything I needed to know about beautiful Buenos Aires. The places that my Argentine friend recommended to me were all listed in this book, so that shows you how good it is!

Definitely must buy this before going to Buenos Aires, or Argentina itself. Great read, great pictures, great food in Argentina! :)

Buenos Aires on 300 pages.......2007-06-10

To start off, I have to say that I usually do not write any reviews for items purchased on Amazon, but for the Time Out Buenos Aires Guide I really have to make an exception.
This Book is just fantastic. I moved to Buenos Aires for the summer and I had never been nor had any idea of what the city would be like. With this Guide book I have been to the most amazing and most interesting places. Putting the sightseeing apart this book is so up-to-date on the restaurant, bar and nightlife scene that I have never been out of place. I have met so many interesting people in only 2 weeks because of this book. It just makes a huge difference having an idea of where to go and what to do at any certain day. So if you are planning on going to Buenos Aires for whatever reason, do yourself and your experience a favor and buy this book.
It's an overall well-rounded guide, that gives you Buenos Aires on paper.

cheapness makes me feel better..........2007-04-24

I'm ordinarily staunchly loyal to Lonely Planet, but the Buenos Aires guide reviews were so awful that I though I'd give something else a try. The first thing I noticed was that it's full of advertisements. In fact, nearly half of all the photos contained are ads. And the list price on the back is $19.95! Man, if I'd paid that much for this book, I'd be furious. It also seems a bit flimsy, like a thick pamphlet they might give away for free at a tourist office, althout I haven't used it in the city yet so I suppose we'll see how it holds up. The writing, though, is on par with the Lonely Planet guides I have (good) with a somewhat more of a focus on high end establishments.

All in all, it isn't bad by any means, but I certainly wouldn't pay full price for it.

Captures the spirit and soul of Buenos Aires.......2007-03-17

Time Out Buenos Aires delivers the feel of the city along with suggestions of where to go, what to do and how to get there. It provides a sense of the spirit as well as offerings of the city. The descriptions are enticing.

I have this book available in my middle school classroom and the students love it. It is a favorite book among my students and it is always being used during free times: silent reading or those students who finish early. The artwork of Bev Doolittle is very beautiful, eye-cathing, and inspiring.

The Forest Has Eyes is a wonderful story........1999-04-09

This book is a wonderful experience in the moment of reading. But more importantly for me, it begins to help both children and adults learn how to "see" differently. That makes it a great introduction to the appreciation of art for children. In addition, the subject of the story is very enriching and helps to develop a connection to nature. No small feat in todays technological/video environment.

From the supplier: Growing demand for wheat-straw boards has caused an increase in the number of wood product manufacturers which produce these types of particle boards. One of the reasons why demand for this product is increasing is its long-term supply because it is made from an agricultural byproduct. what you need to read if a basset's puppy is arriving.......2007-04-21

i was "expecting" this new puppy when I ordered the book, and managed to read it before i took the puppy home. i followed their suggestions on how to make my house safe, on the need of a dog's crate , on how to make him adjust to the new home, certain rules that at first seemed too stiff turned out to be the perfect way to give him rules and protection, and being my attitude quite confident because of the book, gave confidence to the puppy too.the book is full of informations on the history of the breed,on the standard and on every aspect of the dog's life, behaviour, healthcare, and training.
i do recommend this book to everyone that wants to have a basset fauve de bretagne

A must-read book.......2000-07-13

Ellen Tarry gives us a well-researched, detailed, yet flowing account of the life of the humble Pierre Toussaint. Ellen takes us on the journey with Pierre from being a slave in his native Haiti, to his journey to New York with the family that owned him, his career as a caring and concerned hairdresser to the elite of New York, his charitable efforts with the orphans and French Revolution victims, purchasing slaves' freedom, his caring for the dying and sick during the August plagues, and the list goes on.... Pierre Toussaint is now undergoing the canonization process for sainthood in the Catholic Church. It would certainly be a fitting crown for this humble man of great faith, humility, hope and charity. Ellen Tarry writes of this in a flowing non-boring descriptive manner. The book is also an excellent source of the history of the 1777-1853 period when he lived, not only New York history, but France and Haiti. It would be appropriate for people of all ages. Pierre Toussaint was a great inspiration and example for us all to follow.
