Everything you need to know about Micronesia and then some. And the proof will be in the pudding when I visit.

Barely mentions the sights.......2007-05-26

I got this book for an upcoming trip to Guam and Saipan. This book barely makes mention of the various sites and attractions, especially the WW II sites. With the War in the Pacific Museum still shut down, it's more important than ever to have a good accounting of what's there and how to get to it. The older 2000 edition Lonely Planet Micronesia has more information than this.

Micronesia Travel.......2007-01-04

Great overview for the traveler to Micronesia. I changed my travel plans on which islands to visit based on the information in this book. The only drawback is, and this is true for all travel books, information becomes outdated quickly and so this one needs an update.

The Original Guide to Micronesia.......1999-09-21

As the author of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd editions of this handbook, I'm very familiar with the subject matter and am pleased to see how Neil Levy has developed and improved the guide. All 70 maps are now computer-generated and printed in two colors. Neil has broadened the scope to include more information on the upscale facilities, while expanding the ecological discussions. As a companion to my own guide Moon Handbooks South Pacific it's unmatched, and I recommend it to both travelers and serious students of Micronesia.

A good pictorial for the collector.......1998-04-13

Ms Martini, an avid and well known collector has tried to give us a book which is usable and friendly in the amount of color photos - however, there is a paucity of written information and this puts the reader at a loss for learning, further education and good comparisons of writing instruments. This is not a true learning tool but a good shopping guide. The publisher has turned out better books in varied areas so should try to provide a more thorough text in the future - Ms Martini has the skills, knowledge and collection she needs assistance in translation and more word space.

Collecting Fountain Pens.......2007-08-14

Here is the classic book for the fountain pen collector. It shows lots of pens, provides a value guide, and gives you plenty of information about the pens, the companies. The photography is top notch and you wont have to squint to see what the authors are trying to show. Loads of really rare pens also, so there is something to be on the lookout for. I really like this book and also have it in the limited edition of 300 with the leather cover.

Honest Dreams.......2004-09-05

I know one of this author's sons personally; I used to work with him. He gave me a copy of her book and I feel so bad for her. But, despite childhood obsticles, she chose to rise above and pursue her dream of teaching and not feel sorry for herself and found a happy life. Her father tells her dream of being a teacher is foolish and tries to cheat his kids out of being high-school grads. But she graduated much to his chagrin.
A must read.
