You'll Need An Additional Book .......2007-01-14

Book has good general info on the country and covers very well the Quito and Galapagos regions. If you are even considering a trip out to the Galaps you might well get this book. It is exhaustive in info on possible ship tours. Downside- if you want to travel to the coast or any further south than Latacunga, this book has absolutely NO info. It's as if the southern part of the country doesn't exist.

Came across this book in June before my business trip to Ecuador and found it more helpful than Moon or Lonely Planet has ever been. While not the most professionally looking (pages inside are creme colord and the images are grainy) the information in the book is outstanding-- its a mix of popular tourist places and off-the beaten path things to see and do. It is also all up-to -date information (esp. the prices and location),which is good for Ecuador since places go under and new shops and restaurants open up all the time.

It probably has the best section of Quito than any other guide. It also has a ton on the Galapagos. Its is written for all types of travelers and is not snobbish,(like guidesbooks Ive used in the past are) It has a little of backpacking, a little of luxury and a little of a mid- economic range activites and restaurants. Two thumbs up.

What can I say... a good book simple as that and more than glad to have it in my collection of travel books. I was surprised by the accuracy of the content, address, phone and e-mail (if mail) information (I am one of the nerds that really checks... arggg). What can I say... going to Ecuador and/or the Galapagos (been there, done that) bring this book with you. It's handy if you are in a need of a guide (book). It's light to bring yet contains lot's of useful information for one of these day you don't know but need a hint from your `guide'..

For the mentioned price I think it's a winner...

This book is an excellent resource for planning a trip to Ecuador and it is particularly helpful for Quito and the Galapagos. I think this book must be the best for selecting a Galapagos boat. There are so many boats to choose from and it is really helpful to have the information all in one place - it was so confusing trying to choose a boat because I found it hard to understand the difference between all the different classes of boat, but it is all explained clearly in the book. The information on hotels and restaurants in Quito seems to be very thorough too. I found some great places to eat by using this book.

The BEST guidebook to Ecuador.......2006-01-13

I traveled with this book recently and LOVED it. The information is the most accurate I have found - partly due to the way they gather information. You can submit reviews and new information to their Web site, they review it and use it to publish up-to-date information in their books. Also, their guidebooks are published MUCH more regularly than other guidebooks.

this book is especially good if you are going to the Galapagos -- it is the ONLY book that reviews ALL the cruise ships and has maps of each of the visitor sites on the islands.

Another great resource book from the "Best of Brochure" series by Rockport. It features approximately 187 pages of high profile pieces from well-known design firms. The individual brochures are shown in a large format, with most being given a page to themselves. There are a variety of styles ranging from non-profit organizations to large corporate clients. A must-have reference book for any designer.

In my particular case, I consider myself as a collector and really enjoyed this book. Although it doesn't have as many stickers as I was expecting, they are very nice, very colourful and lively. I found them exquisite.

Look like the Real Thing!.......2005-07-20

I have purchased two books of these luggage labels, one to decorate an old suitcase and one for an art project. I was very happy with the sizes of these stickers and the variety of shapes. The color printing was of excellent quality and the stickers look as authentic as the real thing. I did find the adhesive on them to be a little weak and would suggest using some sort of glue if you are putting them on anything besides paper.

Nomai dance drama, an artistic expression combining sacred, communal, economic, and cultural spheres of community life in the district of Higashidorimura, is a performing tradition that provides an identity to agriculturally based villages. It has retained features characteristic of the music, drama, and sacred practices of medieval Japan. Nomai singing exhibits traits linked to Buddhist chanting. The instrumental music originates from folk Shinto. This study highlights the social and cultural value nomai has for the residents in villages that perform it by providing the historical context in which it is examined, as well as its current performance practices. Scholars have long known that the Egyptian Ptolemaic monarchy underwent a transformation between 323 and 30 BC. The queens of that dynasty started as subordinates of the kings but ended as their superiors. Exactly when and how this change occurred has proven problematic for modern scholars. R.A. Hazzard argues that this change was put in motion by Ptolemy II, who glorified his sister ArsinoT and made acceptable a civilian style of kingship based on piety towards his real and mythical ancestors. Ptolemy's support and elevation of his sister inspired the queens of the line to assert themselves at the expense of their male associates. He was assassinated in Casablanca by French counter-terrorists in June 1955, a "turning point" event which pushed the French government to grant independence to Morocco. Was he a rabble-rouser, a demagogue, a betrayer of French interests at home and overseas or a reformer, a patriot, a hero of the anti-German resistance, and a champion of Franco-Moroccan solidarity?
