The Most Beautiful Villages of Provence.......2007-07-21
France is one of my favorate places to visit and the book has picked a few of the places I have visited. Great Book to own.
INTOXICATING!.......2007-04-16
I love this book! It effectively captures the drama and charm of Provence. I have been to Provence and this book is the next best thing if you can't go there. I also highly recommend the other book "The Most Beautiful Country Towns of Provence".
Disappointing .......2005-08-19
I bought this book thinking that it would show me not only nice pictures, but also information about the villages it supposedly considers the most beautiful ones in Provence. Pure disappointment... Even though the quality of the pictures is nice, they do not give you a true view of the relevant villages. They are pictures taken at random that do not represent - sometimes - the best view of the village.
But what is most dissapoiting in this book is the poor information about the villages, its populations, culture and location. In my opinion, every descrition of each village should also contain a map of its location in southern France (for us to know how could one get there), its population (to see how big it is), a some info on the villages picturesque points, etc. The few paragraphs dedicated to each village are too vague.
Finally, I think the editor should have made this book differently with half the villages and twice the pictures and info about them. I gave 2 stars for the pictures.
There is no place on the earth like my Provence!.......2000-08-31
I am French and was born in Provence, so I have spent most of my days there, except when I travel and when I was modeling in the world of high fashion. I know every village, and I fly my plane over Provence many, many times. I bought this book because it is so beautiful and shows the many wonderful places in my part of France. I am not good at taking the pictures, like these men do, and besides, I always do the flying. My sister would have to do the picture making. If you buy this book, you will be able to see my beautiful Provence in the pictures whenever you want to. Provence is very old and very picturesque, that is why the photography is so good. If it was not a most beautiful place in the world, it could not be so beautiful of a book. I am French and so I know it is this beautiful. It is more beautiful in the real world, if you can even think that. We have lots of cobble streets. Everyone loves the flowers, so you will see most beautiful flowers everywhere you look in Provence. We have hidden waters that come out into our special fountains. Every village must have their fountains and some are very, very old and are more special than any place else in the world. We like things to be beautiful, so you never see anything ugly in Provence. The earth is very good to us. We have herbs growing everywhere in the countryside. Lavender, Rosemary, and Thyme, you can find just walking in our wonderful hills. We love colors in Provence. Blue, yellow, ochre,green, we like all of those colors. Marcel Pagnol lived in Provence, too. He made his films and his books because he loved Provence. He was French. If you want to see a beautiful book that will make you smile and smile, get this book, and then come see for yourself that I am lucky to be French and live in Provence most of the time...................... ................Presented to you by Summer

Provence is heaven to me.I love the hills, the variety of plant life, and the exquisite villages with their definitive shuttters and dove cotes. The fountains bubble with life. The cobbled streets lead to some of the most fetching homes and buildings in the world. The Provencal people dress their windows in lace and paint the exterior and interior of their homes in the colors found in the Provencal landscape: blue, yellow, ochre, greens. Terracotta roofs provide the most wonderful color and texture to the landscape. Somehow everything blends wonderfully! The creators of The Most Beautiful Villages in Provence capture the essence of this southern region of France. The photography vividly presents the viewer with a panorama of gorgeous scenes: fields of lavender, geraniums in pots leading to a beautiful door, roof top views that are breathtaking, undulating paths that take you to splendid spots, aerial views of villages, an old roman road and bridge. A friend of mine, who was born in Provence, gave me this incredibly beautiful book; the only thing better, she says, is to be there! I plan to take this book with me to Provence next summer!! After seeing this book, nothing can keep me away!

Not My Favorite Book.......2007-07-23
This classic coffee table book features prominent villages in Provence. The birdseye photography is lovely, but this collection could benefit from pictures that take you into the town and show the reader what makes each one distinct. I own a half dozen books that profile French gardens, homes and interiors - this is not my favorite book.

If you, like me, cannot afford to travel to the south of France, this large-format book is the next best thing!!! Its stunning photography will really enchant you and leave you with a sense of regret that you cannot be there now, at this exact moment. Looking at the beautiful pictures of old but graceful buildings, narrow streets and dramatic landscapes you can almost sense certain serenity permeating those ageless country towns of Provence, endlessly basking in the golden rays of sun... Aaah, Provence....

A Great Little Book.......2001-11-29
My husband and I are the proud owners of a very cool, amazingly intelligent Somali cat named Sunday. However prior to acquiring her, we didn't even know what a Somali cat was. Now, we are always eager to learn about their habits, characteristics and needs. This is a very imformative little book with a lot of great colour pictures. We've discovered some new facts and tips about our cat . . . and there are other things mentioned in the book where we just say that is so, so true of a Somali! All in all, we're really pleased with the purchase. It's a great book to have on the reference shelf.

Easy to read and very informative.......2000-03-08
I really liked this book. I'm just starting in the selling end of Antiques and Collectibles and I found this book extremely informative. I actually came online today to see if the Binghams had written another book or if there was a latest edition out on this book. I checked it out of my local library and read it during a week's vacation at the beach. It was very easy reading with helpful information. I would (and have) recommend it to anyone interested in antiques, collectibles and even junk turned to treasures. Thank you.

"Rosebudd, the two D's is a double dose of this pimpin". He is an American Pimp. His book that he writes about when he was pimpin is truly who he used to be and who he is today (just my opinion). Most pimps exaggerate their lifestyle, but Rosebudd doesn't. He is very sensual and mostly honest, when he says that he is the "American Pimp" and that his novel is cautious because it is "Dope". He means it. Rosebudd's book was the second pimp book that I have ever read. Duan Bishop Magic Juan's book was the first pimp book that I ever read. Seeing the difference in a East Coast Pimp and a West Coast Pimp has shown me the differences of how pimps establish their quota. I have met Rosebudd in person, and although I don't know him, Rosebudd to me is a honest man when he talks about his experiences as a pimp. His novel will make any woman interested in him, no matter if she is a ho, square (such as myself), or in between. His novel to me is like a romance to a woman. It made me feel like a princess waiting for my prince to come and sweep me off of my feet. Rosebudd thinks that I'm crazy! I told him that I am not crazy, just weird.(laugh) But I also told him that being able to talk to him makes me happy! He is a great author and I look forward to reading more of his novels. He is so charming, that I am speechless. Women read this novel, and you will know exactly what I am talking about!
Rosebudd The American Pimp.......2002-02-16
Entertaining and definitely has insight on how a young player/hustler matures into becoming a pimp. What's messed up about the whole thing is that he retired pimping hoes, to legally attempting to pimp the customer/s who buy this book or pamphlet autobiography. To make things short, the story or tricks of the trade do not end in this book and his attempt is to keep you coming back as his smacks you in the face with volume 2,3,4,5. Good try.
More Like a Pamphlet.......2002-01-20
I was expecting a book, but got a little pamphlet. At first I actually thought that Amazon.Com had screwed up and sent me an empty box.
But I read it and it was pretty entertaining. It deals very candidly with how he grew up in Valejo Ca and wanted desperately to get into the Pimp life. He talks about who he looked up to, who he learned from, and the mistakes he made. What is most interesting is that he gives you interesting details of what exactly was going thru his mind during all of this. And how he mentally prepared himself to be the King of Pimps. Other books I've read on the subject do not give you this insight. This is NOT a how-to guide, it is an autobiography where Master Pimp Rosebudd tells us how and why he got into the game, and the important rules he learned along the way.
However, the most important part of the "book" is the very last sentence, which says,
"You've just finished volume one of the Mackin' Memoirs....
BE SURE TO GET VOLUMES 2,3,4, & 5"
So this "book" is just a teaser introduction, fter which you are expected to keep ordering more and more volumes- Sort of like the book of the month club. If I wanted a series of books I would have ordered Nancy Drew or the Hardy Boys series.
It's cool if Rosebudd wants to Pimp some nasty hoes, but he should not be trying to pimp on his reading public.
I for one will NOT be ordering the other volumes.

I highly recommend the Rosebudd series to any novice or experienced player in the game. He describes his travels as honest and true to life as any great writer of our time.
We have been searching to capture real game in print for a long time and most black culture has admired the likes of Donald Goines and Robert Beck for sometime now, but we have a more vivid description of the Life in detail, so to not confuse the curious he has simplified the material to easy understand the mindstate of a Boss Playa.

I loved Book One, but it's just the beginning. I have ordered Books 2 & 3 and have not received them yet. I know they will be the bomb too! Rosebudd, handled his business. I am a square! But, I admire that pimpin, pimp game! Lovie
