The "Self-Assessment Color Review" collection is very nice and I can recommend the reptile and amphibian one. In my opinion, this book is not intended to give you a profound and detailed picture of the diseases but it more or less tries to confront you with real-life situations. Excellent for students or clinicians who want to deepen or broaden their interest.

This book is packed with interesting cases of amphibian and reptile medicine and surgery. All the important/ common diseases are dealt with. Some diseases are replicated but this serves to help the reader learn about those in more detail. An excellent aid to revision for vet students and vets in practice who wish to test themselves and learn extra tips and facts in this area. The small size and 'quick fix' nature of the book encourages the reader to dip into the book in quiet moments and learn something new or refresh the memory. Should also be interesting to keep herp owners.

I found the title of this book totally misleading. Yes, it's compact, but it's hardly a true guide to identifying Barbies. Thank heavens it didn't cost a lot, but I'd advise you to put your money toward a more complete book.

This book is good if you are a new collector and don't know what type or era of barbie you like this will help you figure it out. IT also gives you good tips in identifying barbie dolls. The id info for the ponytails is good, but it could be better and it lacks all info on #6. When I saw this I just stopped reading. But if you don't know what you want to collect or you want to id your childhood doll this is the way to go.

In this book I found some of the outfits that I had as a little girl and can now go to shows and try to find the same outfit without trying to describe the item...Now I can just show them the picture and see if the dealer has it...Very helpful and informitive! Must have for any collector!!

This important new book from the author of three previous books on antique German dolls, features groundbreaking new research on the parian dolls produced by eight factories in Germany during the late 19th century. In preparing this book, the author traveled to the sites of the factories in Thuringia to dig for important artifacts; her labors uncovered more than 1,000 porcelain shards that show the distinctive facial painting used by each factory highlighted in the book. These discoveries, combined with her collection of original porcelain factory ledgers and sample books, allow her to attribute with certainty the makers of these beautiful dolls, especially those produced during the 1860s and 1870s and previously designated as being by "unknown makers."

Mary Krombholz also makes use of rare written records describing daily life inside a 19th-century porcelain factory to clearly delineate the significant role played by each worker in doll production. Her narrative clarifies not only the process of making porcelain dolls in the 19th century, but also presents a vivid picture of life in the Thuringian villages in which these factories were located.

More than 350 color photographs, all close views detailing the painting and decoration of these pieces, accompany the invaluable test, making this the most significant volume on German parian dolls to be published.

I was curious about what kind of garden publications Chronicle Books would be putting out so I bought three in the series; Water Gardens, Paths and Walkways, and Small Patios. I think if I had seen these in the bookstore I would've probably put them back. I was expecting something a little heavier on the visuals from Chronicle Books.

But the examples are interesting. Nice range of elements, and tending to favor the quirky in design. The author describes the garden element in question (depends on which book you have) and uses one overall photograph and two detail shots. The detail shots seem there mostly for atmosphere and to break up the page. She also includes a one-page, how-to discussion, and a list of tools and materials.

I'm not looking forward to all the reading.

This book by far is SUPERB! I consider it my dancer's bible because Rev. Stephanie provides the sacred artist with so much vital information for our body temples, spirit man and call to the ministry of the arts. Every dance leader should have a copy in their own personal library. Even if you are not a dance minister, worshippers alike will appreciate this book.
