This map is excellent because it can get wet and be folded in every way, it will not brake, because of it's material. It misses a metro map, though, but you can get one for free in many places in Barcelona, so it's not a problem.

Wonderfully Useful Map.......2006-11-10

My wife and I spent 6 days in Barcelona and this map was great. While many teensy streets are not shown (including the one where we rented an apartment), to do so would probably expand the size of the map to the size of a barn.

As it is, we navigated our way around perfectly with the map in hand. It shows the Old City in expanded view, details the subway system, includes outlying areas like Parc Guell, clearly labels and demarcates all the attractions and was indispensable.

Best of all, it has a rain-shedding coating that allowed me to fold and refold and bend and generally torture the map endlessly and it's still in excellent condition and can probably be used for another 3 trips.

Get it! You won't regret this purchase.

Barcelona, The Rough Guide Map.......2006-11-10

The Rough Guide plastic waterproof map series provides a durable and easy-to-read product. The Barcelona map depicts different geographic areas at various scales, supplemented by not only an excellent street index but also recommendations for shopping, eating, drinking, venues and hotels. All in all, an outstanding pocket guide to facinating Barcelona.

I used this map for two weeks..........2005-04-28

I used this map daily during a two week stay in Barcelona.
It was indespensible.

The Rough Guide map has a number of nice features. It shows
the location of many locations of interest. Not only
the standard tourists sites, but resturants and hotels.
The map is also accurate and detailed.

The sterling feature of this map is that it is printed on
tough material (some kind of plastic). So it could survive
two weeks of being folded and unfolded without ripping.
The durability of the Rough Guide maps is a huge selling
point and I recommend them for any destination, not just
Barcelona.

The only thing that the map is missing is a map of the
Metro which is the primary way to get around Barcelona.
However, free maps are available at the offices that
sell tickets at the major metro stations.

Great refrence book for color examples.......2003-05-17

The book is full of color combination examples. It's just page after page of color patterns. It's great for letting you see how colors look together and the CMYK numbers for it. it's a little eye tangling to see pages up on pages of color combination examples. It would have been nice to see the color combos in something other than a square with patterns of colors on it. But they kept it simple.

This is, in my opinion, the best of the designer's guide to color series. It focuses primarily on the interaction of color in patterns and presents many interesting and useful islamic, japanese, art nouveau, and textile patterns.

This author babbles on about horrific case histories & never does get to the point. This book grossly lacks anything the reader can use to keep their pets healthy in any shape or form. I was very annoyed. Thanks, Lynn

Well-written information on feline health and nutrition........1999-07-28

This is the only health and/or nutrition book I've read cover to cover. The topics are fascinating, and the writing style engaging.

Lazarus provides general information about feline nutrition (or lack thereof) and diet suggestions, as well as sections dedicated to a variety of feline medical problems and both their standard and holistic treatments. She cites numerous holistic veterinarians, but this is not a tirade against conventional medicine. It does offer hope through alternative solutions.

Electric Vintage Waffle Maker/Iron Book.......2007-05-27

For the small niche in this country who collect electric vintage waffle makers/irons, this book is the bible.
It is extremely comprehensive and full of facts and figures. The buying guide lists average (range) of prices for almost all known models from 1900-1960. Personally, I've come across a few models that aren't listed (2, to be exact) since I've bought my copy, but overall I'd say it doesn't get better than this.
The one thing I wish would have/could have been included would have been a list of clubs dealing with collecting these items.

A Wonderful Reference and Guide for Waffle Iron Fans.......2006-09-24

Bill George has written a fantastic guide to American classic waffle irons. He has done a tremendous amount of research and covers his subject thoroughly from both the waffle iron and the appliance company perspective. The photos of the waffle irons are high quality.

His helpful hints in buying vintage waffle irons, waffle recipes, company and waffle iron model list with price guide all make this an invaluable reference. A must-have for any eBay buyer who likes vintage waffle irons.

Mr. George is without doubt the reigning guru of American waffle irons. One can only hope he would write a similar reference book on American toasters!

Best Book for the Tropics.......2004-02-13

This is the only book I have been able to find that is specific to orchid growing in the tropics.
The kinds of orchids this book gives details on are the ones that grow best in my particular location: tropical Hilo, Hawaii. I'm definitely a hobby orchidist, not into nomenclature, mericloning, or anything fancy like that; I buy plants in flower that I like and always have luck with getting them to grow and bloom again in these ideal conditions. Nonetheless, I do enjoy reading about species, hybrids, and methods of propagation, and this book has a lot of interesting details for more serious or commercial growers. The illustrations are wonderful.

Wonderful finally a book that clearly shows disease processes and treatments with excellent photography. The anatomy and growing instructions are complete and easy to understand. It is written so that anyone can grow orchids from terrace to orchid house. I find it exceptional in that it takes into consideration the hot humid condions that exist here in So. Fla. (zone 10).

I read this book as a novice orchid grower living in sub-tropical conditions. It is well written and has many fantastic pictures to back up the text. I found the book extremely helpful in both orchid identification and as a reference tool for cultural problems. It is easy to read and I would recommend it to anyone growing orchids outdoors
