This guide needs serious updating. US$$ are not the preferred foreign currency in Cuba now, and hadn't been for a couple of years already when this edition was published. Not impressed with the detail work either. The Moon publication for Cuba is better than either this, or the Lonely Planet books.

An Excellent History of the Tank Watch.......2002-07-18

I bought this book a couple years ago, and I still enjoy looking through it today. Besides being an excellent historical account on the origins of the Tank watch, it also includes a detailed chronological picture catalogue of all Tank watches produced by Cartier. I recommend it to anyone who owns or admires the Tank and wants to learn more about the origins of this much-copied Cartier classic.

A Great Addition to a Cartier Collector's Menagerie.......2000-06-10

This book is great! It is essential to the collection of any Cartier Collector. It takes the reader through the history of the Cartier Tank Watch, beginning in the early 1900s. It shows different models and how they've changed as style has. A great Coffee table book, one to show style, sophistication, and chic. ONE TRENDY BOOK!

This is a great book! I have two. One for my German Shepherd and one for my Jack Russell. I love that you can start it any year of their life too. If you have an older dog or a puppy it's great and you will use it all there life.

I bought this book around Christmas because my dog only had a few months left to live. Now that he's gone, I truly feel this was one of the best things I've ever purchased. This will be a wonderful keepsake for the rest of my life. There is even a page where you can insert your dog's paw print. (Hint: use a rubber-stamp ink pad to do this.) Thanks to the author for creating this!

It's good .... but flawed.......2001-01-31

It's got a LOT of books, it's very inclusive, the colour pictures are a great help. BUT, it doesn't mention the British publishers of some books, which were actually published in Britain, before the (listed) US first edition. So, it's flawed, but still worth the (very reasonable) price. I intend to buy the 1850-1950 book.

A superly laid out collector's guide and reference........2000-02-04

Diane McClure Jones and Rosemary Jones tackle a weighty task in Collector's Guide To Children's Books 1950-75 V. 3 which surveys children's selected books from picturebooks to young adult. Pricing may not be exact but the inclusion of many rare items will give collectors a good starting point for identification and valuation.

A Must Read!.......2007-05-15

Dave Ramsey hits it on the head - I wish I had read it at 18 years old. Personal money management can be tough, but this book (as well as all the Dave Ramsey books) gives very clear, concise instruction on how to manage your life's fortune (or how to create a life's fortune).

He is hysterical and animated - It's easy, fun reading.

Helping me control my spending.......2007-05-08

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it is a little dated. I bought this book along with Financial Peace Revisited, and I found this one to be more helpful. It is just the basics/outline of the book, but he actually gives examples so you can build your budget worksheets, which i found really helpful.

Having said all that, I highly recommend the books to anyone that doesn't have a written budget. I thought I had one, albeit in my head, but it turned out that I had no idea where our money was going. I was in shock when I really started tracking our spending and found that we were overspending in areas we didn't need to. Now we use cash and our debit card, instead of our credit card and I feel I'm in much more control of our money. One of these days we'll be out of debt...

You can not go wrong with Dave Ramsey's advice. With this Step by Step guide, as a companion to the Total Money Makeover, Dave puts you in control of your finances to achieve total freedom from Debt and build wealth. The King of African Cichlids Tells All.......2003-12-21

The late Pierre Brichard was one of the very first exporters of African cichlids, especially those of Lake Tanganyika, as well as an avid photographer of them. He discovered numerous species, and several fish species are named for him (including Teleogramma brichardi, Synodontis brichardi, and Neolamprologus brichardi, "the fairy of Burundi").
This book was his major literary work.
It bears some of the sloppy editing that is so typical of TFH publications, and in some ways it is quite dated by now, but still, if you're interested in Tanganyikan fishes, you've really got to have this book. There is no substitute.

A good resource for the cichlid lover........2000-12-14

This is one of my favorite books. Although I think it is over priced, Brichard does a wonderful job of presenting the fish of Lake Tanganyika.

This book provides wonderful photos of virtually all of the fish and color morphs. The information provided on each fish is excellent as well.

This is a must have for the serious cichlidiot.

This book is chock-full of color pictures and documentation on the various cichlids from Africa's enormous Lake Tanganyika. I was totally impressed with the expertise Pierre Brichard conveys about these incredibly intelligent and colorful fish.

One of the best books I've seen on antique silverplate. Lots of information on history, techniques, and how to recognize old Sheffield pieces. Plenty of beautiful photos. A great book for anyone interested in learning about old silver. Prices are given in British sterling, which makes it harder for the US reader to relate. Would be nice for a US version to be published with prices reflecting American market values.

I've just received my copy of this book. I find the approach chosen by Judy Glattstein innovative and fascinating, the text competent and entertaining. I was, however, terribly dissappointed about the quality of the photos. The worst are those taken by the author - they are mostly unsharp -, but most of the other pictures are no better. It's a shame quality control has not worked any better at Timber Press. If you want to know what good garden photography is, turn to Ian Adams' The Art of Garden Photography, just published by - Timber Press!

You can't blame this book for not being able to capture Bruce Lee's technique. Why? Because he had no technique.
