Shows kids the sacrifices the greatest generation made.......2007-03-29
I am almost 20 now, but I remeber reading this book when I was about 8 or 9 and really enjoying it. I've always had an interest in World War II and this book gave me an insight to the war that many kids probably don't get but could benefit quite a bit from. It has a variety of true stories that were pretty easy to follow about heroes of World War II. There weren't too many books available on this subject aimed at kids and I remember finding this book interesting and a worthwile read.

So many of the books for pets have the same ole info in them and in fact some are just republished and only have a few updates of new info in them..Not this Book..its New..and I love it..it has a great layout of info so you dont have to read the whole book to find just what your looking for.the pages are nicely layed out and the paper is excellent.I love the pictures too.Im an adult and this is my first rabbit and IVe been disappointed in what info in books are out there..this is a great place to start..its Excellent.B.W.

I happened to see this book at a pet store and bought it on a whim, just to add to my ferret resource library as I had never heard of it. It turned out to be a surprisingly complete and accurate book, a close second to Kim Schilling's "Ferrets For Dummies" in the if-I-can-only-get-one-book-on-how-to-take-care-of-ferrets-
this-is-the-one-to-get contest. Almost every page has a full color photo of a ferret on it, and they're usually instructional or useful in some way, not simply decorative.
Lots of helpful sidebars, and they've designed the book in a very well-organized way with lots of "Post-It" notes and fake paper clips "holding" memos to the page, making the important points stand out for easy reading.
Highly recommended as a one-stop source for ferret care or to add to your ferret book collection to get a more well-rounded view of the basics of ferret care.

If a book about commemorative coins had to be likened to the Bible, this would be it. It is excellently researched and has a great wealth of information about the various varieties of the coins. It also contains more information about original holders than I have ever seen. Of special interest to investors is the section on projected increases in value. This book is also packed full of top-notch illustrations. If anyone is interested in commemorative coins, or coins in general, this book is a must for any numismatist.

This review is based on the two books I own. 10,000 Garden Questions, Answered By 20 Experts, Volume 1, Third Edition 1974. 10,000 Garden Questions, Answered By 20 Experts, Volume 2, Third Edition 1974. These books I own may be old but the 10,000 questions are real and the answers they provide are still useful and very much needed. Actually the volume contains 13,000 questions all answered by twenty horticultural authorities. Sections include: Soils and Fertilizers, Planning and Landscaping,Ornamental Plants and Their Culture, Trees, Shrubs, and Vines, Bulbs, Tubers and Corms, Roses, Perennials, Annuals and Biennials, Lawns and Turf Areas,The Home Vegetable garden, Home-Grown Fruits, House Plants, Plant troubles and Their Control, Weeds and Regional Garden Problems. I've referred to these books many times when I was thinking of growing Pumpkin or Corn. Even Radishes and Lettuce. How about those nice Ladybugs!

Scientific names of species are given only where necessary. Illustrations are black-and-white woodcuts. If you are going to do extensive gardening and want an inexpensive but comprehensive reference, this is the book for you!

Best Garden Book Ever.......2000-11-11
I purchased this book 4 years ago and since then I have hardly used the books I had previously. This book covers everything from planning to troubleshooting problems. It has an excellent glossary that makes it very easy to find exactly what you are looking for. It has information from the very basic to professional without being boring. If I could have only one book on gardening this would be it. Since it is out of print my family always calls me for answers from it on their gardening problems. I hope it will be reprinted.

I've had "10,000 Garden questions answered by 20 experts" for over 15 years. It is a great all round reference for almost any type of plant in your garden - shrubs, perennials, annuals, groundcovers, etc.
The question and answer format is useful, since the questions cover most of the important facts about each type of plant - how much sun, what kind of soil, how much water, when and how to prune. There are chapters on home vegetable gardens, home ground fruits, house plants, plant troubles and their control, weeds, and regional garden problems.
The index is excellent, so the reader can find information about plants in different chapters - soils and fertilizers, landscaping,
I've rarely failed to find useful information in this book about any kind of annual, biennial, perennial, tree, shrub, or vine. Most of the culitivars discussed in the book are no longer available, as the book was originally published in 1946. Aside from that, plants don't change, so this is still a very valuable reference.

This informative little book is a quick read and the instructions and illustrations are easy to understand. It's a good introduction to country & western dancing for the novice.
Waste of Time and Money.......2000-10-03
This little 54 page book included 3 pages of introduction, 1 page of ads, about 11 dances and about 4 country western steps. Three of those pages were for "Put Your Little Foot" if that tells you anything. As far as I could tell, the few drawings looked pretty much the same and were of no help. Save your money here.
Learn to Country & Western Dance.......2000-06-07
This is a fun book and the instructions are really easy to follow. With a little practice, even a klutz with two left feet can learn to do these dances.
