Small and not heavy book, you can take it to your trip very easy it fits in every hand bag. A lot of info inside with a lot of tips and colorfull pictures that will help you to plan your trip in advance.

It Icludes a foldable map (not waterproof) a good extra, also have a plastic cover that helps you to maintain it like new!!!

Useful map for Icelandic trip.......2006-08-16

This map provides roads in the entire country, wich is is very useful for planning (especially information on distances). But since roads are constantly improved in Iceland, maps go out of date quite quickly. In the addition to this map you can use free maps, provided at numerous tourist information centers.

An acceptable travel map.......2005-10-07

This is an acceptable travel map but don't expect the detail or accuracy of a Michelin map to more developed countries.
As examples, road F985 (to glacier jeep tour) are not included on the map; neither of the bridges south of Lagarfljot are included. Some problems might be due to the date of the map. Better maps were available in Iceland but not in the US before we left on our trip.

The Best Overall Map of Iceland.......2004-02-14

I recently returned from a two week trip to Iceland, and had a great time. I do wish that I had had this map prior to planning my vacation, though. The map is a 1:600,000 scale map of the entire country, along with inset maps of Reykjavik and other areas of interest, such as Akureyri, Heimaey and The Skaftafell National Park.

Also included are several representative color photos from different areas, a very useful index, a climate guide, a trilingual legend (English, Icelandic, and German), and a distance table to see how far apart places of interest are. My only desire would be more detailed information on the inset Reykjavik map on locations of hotels, museums, etc. A few places are noted, but a separate inset of 'places of interest' would be a nice feature for future editions.

I highly recommend a trip to Iceland, and I heartily endorse this map as essential to helping you prepare for your visit. Be sure to pack it with you, as it will prove indispensable, and is generally less cumbersome than most maps found in guidebooks.

This book provides a complete introductory course on the phonetics of English and Dutch based on an essentially practical approach to the subject. No previous knowledge of phonetics is assumed and all terms are explained in straightforward English as they are introduced. Theoretical and practical aspects of the subject are clarified for the student by means of numerous self-study exercises in articulation and transcription.

The book contains a detailed contrastive description of British RP English and of Dutch (in both the Netherlands and Belgian standard varieties). In addition to a full description of the individual vowels and consonants, full attention is paid to features of connected speech, e.g. intonation, assimilation and elision, stress and articulatory setting. There are sections on sound-spelling relationships in English and an analysis of the commonest pronunciations errors in the English of Dutch-speakers. A guide to the technique of phonemic transcription is also provided, with numerous transcription passages for which correction keys are available.

Catchy title, Silly idea!.......1999-12-15

I'm sure the editors and publishers of this book thought that this was such a unique idea for a photography book! Well, please let these young folks mature a bit and then see what kind of work they can be produced. What will they be doing at age 30? I'll bet most won't be photographers. For the most part there are few pleasant surprises and alot of perdictability. The sad truth is that there are many worthy photographers, with mature work, original ideas and a singular voice who will never have a book published. Why not "25 and Up"!

Great idea, but missing something............1998-09-05

Great idea for a book, however... sometimes I wonder about what photography schools are teaching people these days.... It seems like people get so caught up with the "latest trick" in photography(ie: computer manipulation...etc..) that it's hard to tell if what they are creating is from the heart. After looking through 25 and Under, I felt a lack of authentic expression. I would love to see another version of the book published with some representation of artists whom have not neccissarily attended the best photo schools in America.

Anyone but everyone who is in advertising, design, editorial should have a copy of this book on their desk. Take a cool look and tell me youth and imagry is dead. How often do I see the same old names used in my agency. How often do we condem youth to doing crap?
