The Fern Guide : Northeastern and Midland United States and.......2000-08-09

This book is very technical and difficult to understand with out previous knowledge of ferns. The dichotomous key uses terms that are not found in the glossary and diagrams do not show all of the appropriate parts needed to use the key succesfully. The book is well written and drawings are very usefull, but without a easy to use key the book is difficult to use in the field to identify unknown plants.

A thoroughly well researched, practical and well thought out guidebook that is really useable. This author really knows her stuff. I've seen other features in publications and other guidebooks she's written and she always gives you just the right info for travelling with your family. I've used this one twice, and it helped me navigate the city easily.

This is a great book for people who are not very involved with dogs and are trying to understand structure ang gait in dogs. Easy to read and well explained, this book is also a good reminder to people who already know about dog's structure. Best book yet.

Good review of general canine structure........1998-06-05

I found this book to give me a better understanding of the movement of a dog in the show ring. It describes quite well the parts of the skeleton and how they relate to this movement. The full impact of the information is probably best used in a class where examples can be shown. Even with this shortcoming I found I increased my understanding and knowlege of conformation show movement.

A fascinating resource.......2003-08-23

This wonderful book traces Mennonite furniture from the Vistula Delta region of Poland, through southern Russia, and on to Canada and the plains of the United States. It begins with an examination of the unique styles of Mennonite furniture, and then goes on to show how they developed during the Mennonite's migrations, also showing how the Mennonites themselves developed.

This book is a fascinating resource. It is (in my opinion) a poor Mennonite house that doesn't have some family treasure in it, a piece of furniture or a clock that was brought by the family from long ago and far away, no matter how humble that piece may be. This book places those items in context, showing what they are, and what their significance is. If you are at all interested in Mennonite furniture, then I highly recommend that you read this book.

A family tradition.......2004-06-21

This is an awesome book. The first stocking came out the year I was born, so my mom made it for me. The when they decided to make it a series, she made the next one for my sister. And the for my brother-in-law, niece, and nephew. Now I am making one for my oldest son, but didn't have any of the other patterns to make one for my youngest. I am so glad to have foud this book! It has nine patterns for beautiful Christmas stockings. I wish I'd known about it before I spent days serching for ack issues of the magazines.

This book is not available to everyone........2004-05-25

I have been searching for this reprint. I came across the notice that said it was available from BHG. I called the 800 phone number and ordered the book. My order was taken along with a credit card number and told that it would be shipped out to me. I waited and waited . Finally one day a post card arrived from BHG. They will not ship to Canada because of the high cost of postage ,etc. This just amazes me, as they can sell their magazines here but will not share their offers. I have ordered and received many other patterns from companies in the United States with no problem. As I am paying the shipping I can't see where their should be any problem. Just passing this along in case their other Canadian stitchers have had this experience.

This book is so inspiring, the pictures are beautiful, and makes you really look forward to christmas already in March! :-)
There are many nice patterns, both for the famous heirloom stockings, which will make great heirlooms in your family, as well as smaller patterns for pins, gift tags, buttons, brooches and much moore!!!

Should have been called, Nudes Lighting for Dummies........2007-03-20

I found very little information in this one. If you have a few months of
photo experience with an SLR or similar camera, then there is strong chance
that you already know what's in it. A book for true novice.

Great "broad range" book for lighting.......2002-01-05

I found this book to be very good. I am a professional photographer and still found many usful things in this book. It includes multiple different lighting senerios from the simple to the very complex. It even had many exterior/natural lighting examples for those who prefer natural lighting or just don't have a money tree to buy all the fancy studio lighting. It also has many equipment illustrations for those looking to buy some equipment for studios. Overall a very nice book from a reliable series.

Perfect manual for photographers.......1999-10-19

As a starting photographer, I was well aware of the author's reputation for great lighting of subjects--e.g. glamour shots, still life, etc. This book gives starting photographers--in detail--a masterful way of setting up nude shots. I highly recommend this book
