This study covers the latent demand outlook for baby wipes travel packs across the prefectures and cities of Japan. Latent demand (in millions of U.S. dollars), or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.) estimates are given across some 1,000 cities in Japan. For each city in question, the percent share the city is of its prefecture and of Japan is reported. These comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a city vis-à-vis others. This statistical approach can prove very useful to distribution and/or sales force strategies. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each prefecture and city, latent demand estimates are created for baby wipes travel packs. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. Japan travel map.......2007-06-29

The main reason I purchased this book was for the map of Japan. I could not find a reasonably priced map. I was not disappointed. The bonus was the city maps of Kyoto and Tokyo. This was a good reference for our travels in Japan. Compact size allowed me to take it on our day excursions. I would definitely buy another Globetrotter book.

Field tested in Japan.......2007-02-10

I brought this to Japan and used it to navigate Tokyo. It's an excellent map for the Tokyo metropolotan area only. It doesn't contain detailed street level features, but mainly major streets, locations of train stations, districts, tourist sites. You still have to maintain a level of awareness of where you are on the map since Japan is very much a walking city, you have to be careful of where you walk at the street level since it will not show you each street name.

It does have names of the major companies (Like Sony, etc). So you can also determine your location based on these major companies. Japan's a place that it can be fun to get a little lost, so I didn't mind not having the street level detail. But if I were to spend more money and buy a different map, I would like a book type map that has the street details.

Also, This is a fold-out map. So it can be a little tedious to unfold. Some of the creases are already starting to become weak and tear. But if you want a cheap, small map that will not add much bulk to your purse, backpack or brief-case, this can be an easy addition to your travel.

This map is thorough but a bit unwieldy. The visual emphasis on roads detracts from and makes it difficult to see the train routes. I would have preferred a map with only train routes and no roads at all.

Very good choice.......2006-08-13

I bought this map sight unseen. I looked at maps in various bookstores and found them difficult to read and expensive. This turned out of be one of the most readable maps I've seen. The back has maps of various cities with very good detail (especially for Tokyo) on where hotels, points of interest, and train/metro stops are located.

It has a durable cover, but it would be nice if the paper inside was more durable. It developed some tears after a few days of heavy use.

Need a Map?.......2006-03-21

We have almost worn the map out planning the trip -- can't imagine what will be left after the trip but we are confident we will find our way around Japan with this excellent set of maps. Thanks.

An error too big to miss...........2007-07-14

I admit I'm used to Coysh & Henrywood's style of books on Staffordshire pottery, but I wanted a reference on modern Staffordshire. When I first opened the book, flipped through the attractive pages of photographs, noting which patterns were listed. I'm familiar with 20th century Staffordshire so it was like seeing old friends -- then a pattern and manufacturer which didn't match. There it was on page 68 --in bold letters: Liberty Blue --Royal Staffordshire.

Royal Staffordshire, which did some very nice work over the years, did not make Liberty Blue. LB was produced by Enoch Wedgwood. Not the wonderful firm founded in mid 1700s by Josiah Wedgwood that we know and love, but one started many years later by Enoch, a distant cousin. Enoch Wedgwood's quality was miles from Josiah Wedgwood's, and for that matter, from Royal Staffordshire's.

Also spotted some confusion about genealogy of the Woods potteries, but compared to Liberty Blue, it's minor. However added to the LB fiasco, there's enough to make me wonder about accuracy of reporting of other patterns.

A price guide packed with color photos.......2006-03-19

English transferware holds flower and scenery patterns which look like Blue Willow: usually one-color, they can be multi-color scenes imprinted on plats, dishes, cups and saucers. This terrific book traces the history, manufacture, and various styles of the traditional Comforter Spaniel made in Staffordshire, England during the 19th century. It is a comprehensive study with substantial text and beautiful illustrations, and it is written in a style that keeps the reader turning pages. As a collector and dealer, I have found this book to be extremely useful - I can't keep enough copies in my store, and I keep it at the top of the stack on my coffee table at home. This is a perfect reference and a perfect gift for anyone who appreciates the primitive beauty of the well-known Staffordshire Spaniel. This book, the only one I know of that deals specifically with Staffordshire Spaniels, is an invaluable reference for collectors and dealers alike. It offers a wide range of over 285 superb full-color illustrations, descriptive captions, and suggested values that reflect various market and regional trends. The book is packed with important historical and production information. Sections on reproductions and tips for collectors round out this comprehensive and informative study. This is NOT just another Staffordshire picture book or boring catalog of image after image. This specialized book offers so much more. The author's writing style is reader-friendly and touched by the sense of fun that Staffordshire collecting is meant to be. Book should not be used to determine value of pieces!.......1998-08-29

This book contains nice photographs. However, the prices of pieces are unrealistic. Some quotes seem extremely low and other extremely high. The author doesn't mention the condition of the piece when quoting prices The greatest factor the effects the price of pottery is the condition of the piece. A price should never be given without a discription of the condition of the piece. The book would be a nice reference for a novice collector. But price information should be ignored.

Griselda's 'English Pottery'.......2000-02-19

This is another superb example of this knowledgable author's work from one of the leading antiques reference works publishers, the Antique Collectors' Club. Following the path of the fascinating development of English pottery from before the Bronze and Iron Ages through to the productions of the early Staffordshire potteries and thence to the end of the Twentieth Century we feel well acquainted with all the main branches of English ceramics by the end of our journey. Illustrations are plentiful and of excellent quality making this book a pleasure to handle and 'dip into'. There is plenty of space devoted to the later decades of the last century dealing as the author does with the Leach familly, Lucie Rie and Hans Coper to name just a few out of many artist potters. I was surprised and delighted to see illustrated (page 130) a mug from the obscure Villa Pottery, Cobridge. I have a very similar example in my collection. Many authors would have shown an example from a more well-known pottery such as Masons. This book cannot be recommended too highly. You will not be disappointed.
