While this book does cover many hikes in and around Whistler, some basic features of a hiking book were missing. First, maps for some hikes were missing, and were inadequate for other hikes. Some hikes, such as the Ancient Cedars Trail, had no directions to the start of the hike. Also, there was no overview map that pinpointed the hike locations. I would not recommend this book.

A must have for anyone going to whistler.......2005-06-02

I ordered this book a few weeks before I took my family to whistler and was glad I did. There was a plethora of information in there that only somebody familiar with the whistler area would know about. I booked my vacation online at http://www.whistler.com and it was great to know what kind of activities where available before reserving them over the phone with the reservation agents (although their website is very informative also). Once there I found the printed maps from the book to be indispensable in navigating whistler's extensive valley trail system. I would have liked to see more information on all of the whistler golf courses but all-in-all this book made my first whistler vacation an experience to remember. I am definitely going back in the winter season to ski whistler.

Powerful book.......2001-01-19

This is a book for children, but adults would find it an excellent read. Ms. Ayer, a non-jew writes about the museum and you feel as if you are visiting there yourself. This book is an emotional journey for the reader, it includes pictures of children who were killed at the hands of the nazi's. It described the museums exhibits in great detail, and even though I personally dont think I can emotionally handle it, the book would be a great read before actually visiting the museum.

I have never really embraced my Jewish roots, but with the help of this book and other holocaust readings in recent days, I am glad to say that I am now able to see myself as a Jew. If you are on the fence about your Judaism, read this book, it will draw you toward Judaism.

For all those anti-semites who say the holocaust never happened, I wish you were right. To think that there is such horrible cruelty in this world and hatred makes me terribly sad.

This book tells alot about not just crocidiles, but all reptiles which I think is pretty facinating. It has alot of real pictures and alot of myths like:"An old story tells of a poor man named Ginja who caught on fire. He rushed into the river to put the fire out, but the heat had blistered his skin. Ginja became the first crocidile." It has some unusual animals like the snake-necked turtle. Because it just doesn't have a specific reptile I was looking for, I give it a 4.

Hilarious Satire.......2007-03-24

This book is only incidentally a travel guide--though it succeeds in that effort more than one would think. Primarily, it is a satire of the type of over-earnest "Let's Go" books that, say, assume that Joe and Suzie College-Backpacker possess enough rudimentary knowledge of European history as to have of any chance of a clue of what they are looking at. Hence, in this book, each town has a "Big Old Important Historical Thing" suggested.
It is quite funny, especially as it pokes fun at our Canadian cousins.

It is not, however, as funny as the utterly clueless reader reviews here from scolds who took the book, as they take themselves, miles too seriously....

Garbage (I wish I could give -5 stars).......2007-02-10

This is the first book I have ever actually ripped up and thrown in the trash. These guys are smarmy little children. They constantly interject their political jibes and this kills any fun the book might be. (Which is actually very little) The humor is lame. Most of their descriptions could have been written by a robot. Very little in the way of stories about the places they write about. To top it off.... and this is important... The book is completely out of date! The description doesnt tell you that it has to be about 14 years old from what I can tell.
Dont waste your time and money on this , and I use this term loosely, "book".
I'd ask for my money back, but I enjoyed ripping it up even more.

Fun read!.......2006-05-03

This is a hilarious read! However, if you don't remember what it's like to be in your 20's, you may find it a bit sophomoric. But hey...big deal! You should read this on the plane to Europe, or on the way back. Or it would make an excellent gift for a college student who plans on backpacking through Europe. I highly recommend it if you want a fun read and a crazy ride through Europe.

Worst travel book ever!.......2004-04-29

In general I am a big fan of comedic writers. Any book by talents such as Dave Barry or Douglas Adams I would highly recommend. This bit of fluff thrown together by two illiterate frat boys isn't comedy. It's a sad commentary on how the American educational system has failed.
In closing I hope the two aspiring writers who composed this monstrosity have found the guidance they so desperately needed to complete a coherent sentence.

Classic, hilarous book.......2002-07-19

I bought this and Let's Go! for my trip, and quickly discovered that Let's Go was good for a couple of boring, practical things, but this book actually was entertaining. Great conversation piece on those long train rides when you want to break the ice, so to speak.

Save your money on this one... I was very disappointed and had to laugh at my own disapppointment. This publication is 12 pages total and that includes the cover. The so-called spiral is one that can be had at Kinko's, and the "book" is nothing more than a collection of handouts much like one would receive at a workshop. I expected some depth and measure of explanation of Instructional Design. This fell far short of my expectations. Shame on the publisher for putting out such a ruse! I'm giving it one star because I have to give it something. It really doesn't even deserve a star...
