We have found this to be an excellent guide. There is a lot of detail, wonderful photographs and just a lot of practical tips. I would recommend this book to anyone traveling in the New Mexico area.

This is a collection of pictures of floral paintings...and only pictures. The only text is that in the minimal captions for the pictures (i.e., name of the work, artist, and [sometimes] medium). There is no discussion or instruction. The only ideas and inspirations are those that may be generated in your mind when you view the pictures.

However, the pictures cover diverse styles and mediums. If you are looking for a book of pictures, this may be for you. If, however, you are looking for anything more, you may be disappointed.

Life Changing.......2007-10-11

Was given this book by my 7th grade English teacher in 1978 - I had read it so much during the school year he gave it to me before I went to the eighth grade. The book is wonderful - shows clear picture of the power of Jesus Christ, and how He can change any situation, and anyone! One of the best books I've ever read in my life - can't wait to share it with my kids, as the message is timeless! Still want to meet Nicky Cruz in person!!

First read this book 30 years ago ,while still in highschool .Couldn't for the life of me figure out why a teacher would give this to someone to read .
The first part revolves around gang warfare in New York
The second Nicky Cruz's change in life
I won't go into story or say if the way Mr Cruz changed his life is for everyone , but are going say that the way to change is step back from where you are and look around you , when you relize people will help if you are willing to help yourself ,looking at Mr Cruz's life as it was in the 50's wouldn't take much imagination to see where he was heading
Young and some not so young should read the book and maybe see the morale of the story

If you run into this message... EMBRACE IT!.......2006-11-27

This book starts with somebody yelling, "Stop that crazy kid!" I think right then and there was when my fears were ceased. I've really wanted to read "Run Baby Run" for quite sometime. Yet you run into somebody else's life story, and it isn't as interesting as you thought it might be. So, I did take a chance, and I'm glad I did. If you are looking for the power of Christ, you've come to the right place. If you are looking for the possible description of a street fight, you've come to the right place. If you want a little bit of romance added to the picture, (YEP) you've come to the right place! And the story is all true, that's the amazing thing. Mario Puzo didn't pen this out and send it out to his publisher. Nicky Cruz LIVED it, and he's here to tell his story. Some might be wondering if it's the same old "blood, sweat and tears" story. Hmm... maybe the words blood, sweat, tears, puke, convulsions, profanity, narcotics, spiritual warfare and MORE might fit the bill. Don't let that scare you away though.

If you've ever heard Nicky Cruz speak, he isn't always the easiest to understand, yet his language of love through Christ is universal. He's ticked off at Satan, people! I believe he has every right to be. He tells an amazing story of coming from Puerto Rico to the States (New York) and almost immediately getting involved in gang activity. He talks of the Mau Maus, and how he became the president eventually. He speaks of his best buddy, Israel. He talks about friends killed in gang warfare. He goes into detail about the rumbles. But that's just the beginning. He also talks of a man named David Wilkerson. He talks of Pastor Wilkerson with much awe and reverence. And from there he talks of a great relationship with Jesus Christ. He goes into detail about Bible college, he tells of his struggles. He tells of his ministry. Now some of you reading my review might be asking, "Uh, Wolfe... did you just TELL us the whole story?" I don't think so. You'll have to get the book for that. The time invested in well worth it.

There is power in the testimony of Nicky Cruz, yet there is more power in the one who saved him, Jesus Christ. Embrace the message of this book! If you are one who is still running, run to a Heavenly Father who is waiting. Then you'll run an awesome race! So don't let the title intimidate you. Pick it up, and don't run from what Nicky Cruz has to say.

Good age group for this book is probably 4ish to 8ish. I have kids that are six and seven and they both get a kick out of the book. Makes a nice gift.

I am a grandmother of sixteen grandchildren,eight boys and eight girls ranging in age from newborn to ten years. I just completed a two month journey through twenty two states reading Louella May She Run Away to my grandchildren, their parents and to their young friends. From the East Coast, through the South, the Mid-West and across North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada and home to California, this story was a huge success. I watched young and old alike fall into the rythum of this tale and cry out the rhyming words as the pages turned, hoping they had said the right word. They found the illustrations to be eye catching and in harmony with the search for Louella May. The story brought laughter and also a happy surprise at the ending. The story has it's own spacial place in our family and will join other favorites, such as Dr.Seuss books, The Bernstien Bears, Beatrix Potter's books or Charlotes Web and the Wizard of Oz.

I have read this book aloud numerous times at toddler and preschool storytimes and it has been a hit each time. The text lends itself well to a loud southern accent and expansive gestures plus there is a delightful "surprise" ending for the kids. It doesn't disappoint!

The book is adorable and my kids love it! Maybe a little too much. It started to fall apart after just a few hours. There are inserts between pages that make the characters move. My boys were able to easily pull out those inserts.

On the Run (Disney Finger Fun Book).......2005-09-25

This book is a board book and very cute. It has pages that separate into two parts to simulate movement of the Toy Story people on each page. It fell apart within the first five minutes of gentle play by my 18 month old. He loves it so I will take the time to glue it back together instead of returning it. It is a great concept but the design and assembly need some work.

Not sturdy enough.......2003-07-23

Although this is a board book and it says for babies and toddlers, the book itself is not sturdy enough. My 2 yr old son broke his book the first day by pulling the pages apart. This wasn't too hard to do. Basically, the pages are split in half so you can make the figure in the picture look like it is moving. If you pull the top half up and the bottom half down too hard, the page comes out. It's a cute concept and my son loves the pictures of the Toy Story characters but the book just isn't sturdy enough to stand up to a toddler.

It's a good book, but it is easily broken. So my 2 year old, never gets to read it, because I am always having to glue it back together.

This book was my favorite book between the ages of 11 and 13. The story is suspenseful and it's a great fantasy for a young adult with the young lead character in a role of independence and responsibility.

This book is a must for every racehorse owner, breeder and handicapper. In a study of more than 48,000 Thoroughbred starters, Heller reveals that more than 92 percent raced on Lasix, a potent diuretic which can cause a horse to lose as much as 20 pounds before a race.

Ostensibly, Lasix is used to stop a horse from bleeding in its lungs, a common problem. But Lasix does not stop bleeding and, in some horses, doesn't reduce it. Lasix can, however, improve performance drastically from weight loss alone, flush other drugs out of a horse's system and mask others that remain by diluting them. Even more troublesome is that Lasix use may hide a horse's physical problems while doing nothing to heal them.

The argument to allow Lasix on race day in the United States centered on the idea that by helping bleeders, they would be able to race longer. Instead the opposite has happened.

Average starts per runner went into a precipitous decline just as Lasix became popular on the backstretch in the early '70s and, in 2001, reached a new low.

Wonderful book!.......2007-05-08

My 9 month old daughter absolutely loves this book and it has been one of her favorites since she was 6 months old. She loves to follow and point out the mouse on each page. I highly recommend this book for babies and toddlers.

EEEEK... A MOUSE!!! EEEK! A MOUSE! Clever Surprises and Excitement.......2006-09-23

The excitement starts on the very first page of this board book with illustrated flaps (smaller pages illustrated on both sides) between each full size board book page.

"Hurry, mouse! Run..."

(Look to the right and there's a flap showing the mouse scampering over a chair)

"over the chair,"

(Turn the flap, and there's a two=page spread of the mouse climbing up a table)

"across the table,"

And so on. I wondered if the mouse was the chaser or the chasee. He runs down the table (Horacek conveys movement through the mouse's outstretched paws and limbs, and a big trailing tail), and into a box of cookies! On this spread, Horacek gets a 3-D effect through the cut-outs in the pictured box, revealing something almost black on the next page.

That "something" is the mouse's hole, again cut-out for a sensation of depth. Good thing, too, because when you turn the page, there's a BIG black cat with green eyes, and a hungry look, just outside the mouse hole. Through the cut-out mousehole, we now see the little mouse safely inside. IT's almost magical--on one page the mouse is outside his hole, and on the next the mouse is inside! Couple the special effects (i.e., the flaps, the cut-outs) with Horacek's simple but revealing sentences, bright colors and patterns, and familiar objects (cookies!) and you've got yourself a treat for your infant or young toddler!

My 14 month old will barely sit through a book most of the time. We really like this one. All the things birds do--hop, peck, flap, etc.--are illustrated page by page. There are many ways to make this book interactive--several of the pages have holes (a bird house hole; a little hole pecked in the ground), and one page is cut along the bird's wing so you can flap it.

I love this book. My daughter loves it especially for the little peep holes in it that she will look through. She just cracks up if I put my eye up to one to look at her through it. I recommend this book to anyone who has a child who loves birds or who wants to start a fasination in them.
