Fodor's certainly needs to put out an updated version since this one is 2 years old. I've yet to visit the region so I cannot judge the accuracy of info but I did not like the feel of this guide.

I bought this together with the Frommer's Scandinavia. I like that one much better...

I am planning a trip to Sweden this Summer and bought 2 books on sweden. (the only 2) This book is good but I like the berlitz Sweden book better. It had more details. I suggest that you get both of the books.

A gift to millions , full of detailed inspiration, extremly well researched. A wonderful piece of work to inspire contemorary artists. It is the most important work in a library of Persian Art. Riza is truly brought to life and analised to perfection. To continue in this research and studies (ceramic decoration) would have been impossible without this marvel. Sheila Canby has produced a jewel.

EXCELLENT BOOK ON VARIOUS BREEDS OF CATS.......2001-02-20

If you are looking for a special breed of cat, this is an excellent book to read before you decide what furry little friend is right for you. All the most popular breeds are discussed and appear in alphabetical order. The book provides information regarding characteristics pertinent to each breed, their origins, special problems pertaining to each breed, colours found in each breed, which ones require more grooming, which ones have a mild, passive manner by nature, and which ones tend to be more active and assertive.

If you are not experienced in raising or showing purebred cats, you will probably be surprised at the number of breeds in existence. The personalities of cats are as wide and varied as those of humans and each is unique in its own special way. There are a variety of similar cat books on the market but some are quite expensive. The book gives you the basic information you will need to choose your loveable companion, with beautiful coloured photographs of each breed. This delightful factfinder guide comes at an affordable price and makes a nice addition to your library.

Folks, let's make this nice and simple, Beckett Price Guides are the most accepted price guides in the world PERIOD No other racing price guide even comes close to the popularity of Beckett. Collectors the WORLD over look enthusiastically for each new Beckett release. As for this book, I dare say you will not find another publication that covers its listings in greater detail. This book lists thousands of cards and hundreds of die-cast car values. With the card listings, many sets are given a value along with vital information about each one. Then many sets are broken down into listings for each individual card and a value placed on each card. There's listings for vintage sets as well as some of the more popular ones. Photos are included as well as special notations about things like error cards, rare subsets and the like. This guide will be a big help to anyone interested in the racing hobby. Beckett guides are the ONLY ones I currently use.

Outdated Price Guide.......1999-06-15

Soon after the release of the Beckett Racing Price Guide, the Beckett Racing & Motorsports Marketplace monthly magazine drastically reduced the book value of most trading cards. In doing so, Beckett rendered their own Beckett Racing Price Guide useless. The racing trading card enthusiast would be better off subscribing to the monthly magazine.

The book itself is excellent, very comprehensive in it's coverage. It covers many, many years of collector cards. The diecast section is a must have, particularly for pricing the older diecast and the newest up to about March or April 2007.

Where are the pictures.......2004-06-02

When I get a landscaping book I like to see plenty of examples in full color pictures. Maybe get a few ideas and see what others have come up with that I can mix and integrate into my own water garden. This book is 95% wording and 5% pictures. I thought the book was a little dry and uninteresting. I'm glad I got it on E-Bay for $2.50 because I would never pay full price for it.

WATERSCAPING is a valuable book to own!.......2000-02-14

This book goes beyond the typical water garden book. It not only tells how to create a water garden, but tells how to deal with damp gardens that occur naturally. Many other garden books suggest to drain the garden if it's waterlogged, but this book helps evaluate the site and suggests native plants to enhance the area. If I had to choose only 1 book to own for garden ideas in my damp garden area, this would be the one. This is a must-have if you are blessed with a damp garden!

Book Description

This booklet investigates the major changes in demography, politics and language in the town of Bethlehem. It starts by tracing the political and economic history of the town over the past two millennia, and then makes a detailed study of the current linguistic landscape. The study shows the effect of the Christian institutions in introducing Western education and languages, and of the pilgrim and tourist industries in maintaining a high value for multilingualism. The sociolinguistic investigation reveals major changes in the Arabic spoken in the town. Whereas most residents formerly used a variety of Arabic similar to that spoken in Palestinian villages, emerging social identity issues seem to have produced new distinctions. Younger women and some Christian men are tending to adopt an urban pronunciation like that of nearby Jerusalem, at the same time as the speech of younger educated Moslems is showing the growing influence of the standard variety of Arabic. By relating the use of linguistic variants to changes in identity, this study shows that Bethlehem is a town in transition, being transformed from its previous status as a mainly Christian Arab town into an important Palestinian and dominantly Muslim city. The study has produced information that will greatly assist the development of language and language education policies. It shows the need to find a way to maintain and strengthen Arabic, while encouraging the development of competence in English, Hebrew and other languages that are vital for economic development.

I THINK ONE OF THE HIGHLIGHTS IS HIS REASONS FOR RETIRING WHEN HE WAS ON THE VERGE OF BECOMING THE TOP RUSHER OF ALL TIME. BARRY IS A CHRISTIAN AND IS HIS OWN MAN. Barry Sanders Highlight DVD...... FINALLY!!! But..............2006-07-08

I've been looking for a Barry Sanders highlights DVD for years.... good news - there finally is one, it comes with the book. Bad news? It's only about 20 minutes long, and doesn't show many of his spectacular runs. The book is outstanding, as it's written pretty much by Barry himself, and has great comments from other players in the NFL, giving him the praise he deserves. Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, they have entire 60 minute DVD's (and more) on their lives.... if any player in the history of football should have one, it's Barry Sanders. All in all, if you like football at all, and appreciate magic, this is a must have, from the most talented running back in the history of the game.

Barry Sanders story...short and sweet.......2004-02-06

The newly elected Hall of Fame running back, Barry Sanders, was always a man of many words and his recently released autobiography is fitting in its 139 page, picture-filled 8 x 10 work.
If a picture says a thousand words, than the included 19-minute DVD featuring Sanders and his accomplishments is worth a million and add visuals to the former Detroit Lion running backs accomplishments.
"Now You See Him..." is the entire life history of Sanders, the people that shaped his life and his accomplishments along the way, from North High School, Oklahoma State University and his only NFL team, the Detroit Lions.
Sanders writes of his football beginnings and the beginning of his doubtful beginnings in football due to his small stature. Sanders admitted being shorter, but always faster.
His high school football career was stunted (pun intended) as he played behind older brother, Byron, and was not utilized as a tailback until his senior year and after a coaching change.
Sanders writes of himself as being a team player, foregoing a chance to take the state rushing title after he had 262 yards in the final season game. His coach gave him the option of securing the title, but deferred to his teammates playing.
Surprisingly, Sanders was not highly recruited and took the opportunity to rush for the Cowboys at Oklahoma State University, again behind a superb back, Thurman Thomas.
As the third pick in the 1988 NFL draft, Sanders began his 10-year career with the Detroit Lions, playing under Wayne Fontes for 8-years and Bobby Ross for two turbulent years.
Moving through the to later chapters the reader discovers Sanders' thoughts about the pressure of surpassing Walter Payton's rushing record as the former Chicago Bear was dealing with his own life-threatening illness.
Sanders explains his side of retirement in chapter 15 "I Knew it was Over," explaining the Lions 5-11 season, consistent troublesome negotiations regarding his renewed contracts and the direction of the team.
Sanders includes his retirement letter, sent to the Wichita Eagle, but expands on his disgruntlement with Detroit general manger Chuck Schmidt.
What the book may be lacking, the DVD adds, but does not totally save the book.
The 19-minute DVD includes television footage of Sanders as his best, utilizing his "jump back" style of running in high school, college and the NFL.
If after 139 pages you are not impressed with Sanders, his life and career, the DVD is a waste. If you are a fan of Sanders, his team and his skill, the DVD is a great highlight film included with the book.
Sanders is soft-spoken in his words about his career, his teammates and his competitors. His book is easy to read, picturesque and his DVD inclusion technologically innovative, similar to his running style.

Barry Sanders, the Great Writer........2004-02-03

Barry Sanders is perhaps the next coming of James Joyce. If you don't believe me, just take a look at her brilliant command of prose. It flows ever so delicately through the travails of her life. The language has such a rhythm that is unparalleled by contemporary literature. Five stars. A-plus.
