Customer Reviews:
Great Information in Layman's Terms.......2007-06-07
I first checked this out from our local library...it was so GREAT, I went out and bought one for my company. The book comes with a CD that has templates that you fill in the blanks...it also tells you in Layman's terms what the documents are, when/where/how/why to use them, provides clear examples, and steps on how to fill out the templates. I would highly recommend this and "How to Form Your Own Texas Corporation" (from the same author).
* NOTE: I have the 2nd Edition, which is no longer available, but there is a 3rd Edition.
Now Sold As "The Corporate Records Handbook".......2005-11-28
The new version of this book is now being sold under a different title: "The Corporate Records Handbook". Don't buy this old version.
The BEST book I've found too!.......2004-04-30
I borrowed an older version of this book from the library and had to buy it. This is THE best book on corporate minutes I hve ever read...and I have read many! It is very specific. It has all the forms in print and on disk. It not only tells you how to fill in the forms but why! If you run a small corporation and don't want to pay a lawyer to do all you minutes, this book is a must!
Best Book I've Found!!.......2004-03-31
I borrowed this from the library to check it out and now I own it. It covers everything you can think of needing. And it explains every form in detail ....the why and how.
the best book I've found.......2004-02-28
I've recently set up several corporate structures for small business ventures. In preparation, I took a couple of short classes at a local community college and read several books.
Most of the information in other books was very general. They would say something like, "you must do X to protect your corporate status," without telling you *how* to do it.
This is the only book I've found that clearly describes all the steps needed to properly set up and maintain your corporation. It does not cover choice of corporate structure or the actual incorporation process, but instead explains all the things you must do to maintain the legal and tax protections provided by your corporation once it is established. It also includes an extensive set of forms, all on CD-ROM. The forms are supplied in Rich Text Format, also known as rtf, and can be read by most word processors.
(Note to Macintosh users - although the book says that the CD-ROM is not "supported" on the Mac, I had no trouble opening and using the forms.)

Tradition.......2007-02-20
I loved this book for it's absolute tradition. This will show people tradition is still very much alive and kicking. Very handy tip's easy to use and doing the arrangements looks easy and won't put you off.
Complete Book of Wedding Flowers:Stunning Flower Arranging.........2003-02-13
I found that this book was not detailed enough for beginners in terms of creating the arrangements. It focused more on the wedding day rather than the actual flower arrangements. I was looking for more of a step-by-step guide for arranging wedding flowers.
Great book with lots of ideas.......2002-03-01
This is a cute book with lots of ideas. Doesn't have a lot of "how-to's", but does have some. Great pictures. I use this as a book for "brides-to-be". Someone always chooses something from this book.
It's the little details.......2001-08-31
I enjoyed this book because of the ideas it presented for the little details ... suggestions for floral arrangements that were dramatic, beautiful, and unique. It gave examples of floral arrangements for everything from baptismal fonts to tents. I was inspired to think beyond the standard altar pieces and table decorations.
While many of the actual examples were a little heavy for my taste, I found them to really demonstrate how powerful flowers and greenery - beyond the white roses and baby's breath - can be, and how carefully chosen floral arrangements can compliment any decor and create ambiance. I recommend that anyone needing to choose flowers for a wedding - or really, any occasion - at least take a look at this book for inspiration, even if one isn't going to actually arrange one's own flowers.
Great source of experienced advice and aesthetic inspiration.......2000-08-02
I am thoroughly enjoying Shirley Monckton's book, which I happily discovered on returning from an "early honeymoon" in England, in which my fiance and I explored wonderful Gothic cathedrals and appealing parish churches. Yes, Ms. Monckton is writing for an English audience and her lovely decorations are suited more for the churches and manor houses in her country, but she has a great sense of design and lots of detailed advice for the rest of us, too. Being "florally-challenged," I greatly appreciate Ms. Monckton's experienced guidance on things I would never have considered, such as determining what the rules are in decorating a particular church or hall and who enforces them, how to keep a vertical arrangement from looking like a Christmas tree, how to prevent plastic in a basket arrangement from reflecting sunlight or camera flashes in your wedding pictures, and how long to condition flowers before arranging them (two hours to overnight . . . not the two minutes I would've allowed). Shirley emphasizes planning ahead and informs the reader which things can and cannot be completed until the Big Day. She kindly nudges the bride to delegate the last-minute work to the florist or talented friends/family members. Of the three wedding flower books I've read in recent weeks, Shirley Monckton's is definitely the best.
Customer Reviews:
SO cute gift for your Junior Bridesmaid or Older Flowergirl.......2006-12-28
This is for your JBM or FG that is between 8-12. Even though the cover is pretty dorky looking the book is fabulous. It has a lot of really valuable information in it that helps the little lady know what to expect during the months leading up to the wedding and on wedding day. It would only work for relatively traditional weddings though that have showers before, a ceremony with a processional, and a reception with food and dancing. Our favorite parts of the book are when the book is more of a diary format when it asks the girl to write in her ideas and perceptions of both the couple and the wedding process. I gave this book to my niece and in one part she had to draw a picture of her future husband and write about all the qualities that she would like him to have. Her Mom is saving those pages for her own bridal shower in about 15 years. It will be hilarious!! This book is a wonderful keepsake/journal to make your little girl in your wedding feel prepared and very special.
Great information for first time flower girls! .......2006-11-10
My daughter was the flowergirl in her aunt's wedding and she LOVED this book. I got it for her a couple months before the wedding and it gave her a real sense of what she would be doing in the wedding. She is an advanced reader for 6 years old, so she read this on her own and was fascinated with the the book's detailing of different types of weddings and different possible expectations. It did a great job of preparing her, and now she is enjoying the keepsake portion of the book (add photos, list who was in the wedding, etc.). Highly recommended!
Complete means Complete!.......2006-08-02
This book is COMPLETE! I bought this for two of my flowergirls (Age 6 & 7). It's a great guidebook and nice souvenir but it's got a bit of a serious tone - there's a lot of talk about practicing so it may freak some kids out. That said it's comprehensive and certainly gives a child who hasn't been to a wedding before a great idea of what happens.
Packed with information (maybe a little too much)!.......2006-07-05
Our six year old had never been to a wedding before being asked to be a flower girl. (What an overwhelming responsibility to a small child!) There are loads of books out there about flower girls, but few are true "hand books" that give an overview of what takes place at weddings and what exactly a flower girl's role is. This book covers all of the basics and more. We found this book to be particularly helpful in explaining the hows, whens, whys, and whos. We relied on a fictionalized flower girl story to address stage fright, sibling envy, and the magic of weddings. Definitely recommended. The book would make a very nice gift from the bride to her flower girl(s).
Adorable, good book!.......2004-05-07
This book was adorable and helpful. I bought a different book of similar topic and was very disappinted. This was a much better buy and I highly recommend it especially for the young new attendant!

Customer Reviews:
Uneven.......1998-01-12
This is a better book than Lewis's biograpy of Peter Sellers, if only because it is much, much shorter. But the some of excesses that marred the prior book are here, too. Lewis suffers from foodnote-itis; they can go on for pages and break up the rhythym of reading the book terribly. Either he should integrate the material into the text or he should use notes at the end of the book. He still can't resist inserting himself into the book and making snide and tedious wisecracks, though compared to the Sellers book, he has definitely toned this element down. But the out-of-left-field rhetorical question habit is worse here. My absolute favourite: When discussing the film of Olivier's "Hamlet", he says, "Finally, am I alone in thinking the curtains of Gertrude's bed are spead like the lips of a giant vagina?" Doh! I rather think you are, pal. Either the aforementioned comment is a put-on, or the editor was asleep at the--forgive me--swatch. Speaking of sex, Lewis doesn't like to speak of it, at least directly. He gives it a series of coy, creepy nicknames: "rumpy-pumpy", " and (another favourite) "the bedspring Sonata". What is it with the British, anyway? (That rhetorical question thing is catching).(P) It is also a bad sign that Lewis can't immediately let go of Sellers, and the first part of the book is loaded with references to him and comparisons to Olivier. Apples and mangoes, friends. (P) But studded throughout these excesses, like jewels in *&%!, is some brilliant writing on Olivier's preformances and what excited him about acting. You will just have to hold your nose to enjoy them. (P) And Olivier was great. He was an indifferent father, a poor husband, a jealous colleague, and a manipulative friend, as Lewis makes clear. His love, his energies, his reality went to acting. He was not one of these modern actors who feel obliged to give dumb interviews about the whorishness of the acting profession, and how it is not really suited to a man. Olivier loved and respected his profession, and this book rightly celebrates his triumphs in unlikely ("The Betsy"), small (his wonderfully hostile and whiney Morarity in "The Seven-Per-Cent Solution"), classical ('Richard III'); modern ('The Entertainer') and comedy ("Moscow Nights"). My favourite Olivier performance is none of the above, however. When I was a teenager, I stumbled upon a television showing of William Wyler's "Carrie" (an adaptation of Dreiser's "Sister Carrie." This is an early fifties movie that was a terrible flop when released and was almost immediately forgotten. Olivier is cast as Hurstwood. His fate is horrifying, but such is the power of the performance Olivier gives, you watch until the very last frame. Sometimes this book can convey in words--fleetingly--what Olivier did on the screen. So, in spite of the author's self-indulgences, I recommend it.

Book Description
Though he never attained the highest office in the Church of England, Samuel Horsley was the ablest bishop on the bench in the late eighteenth century. He was a scientist, parliamentarian, and man of letters, as well as a leading theologian and diocesan administrator; while his venomous opposition to popular politics at the time of the French Revolution earned him the label `Grand Mufti'. LF. C. Mather's scholarly and perceptive biography provides a portrait of Horsley and the Church of England in an age of intellectual, social, and political revolution. He establishes Horsley as a high churchman, who bridged the gap between the Tory fanaticism of Atterbury and Sacheverell and the apostolic vision of the Tractarians. High Church Prophet challenges belief in the predominance of latitudinarianism in the eighteenth-century church, and throws new light on the workings of church-state relations.
