This is a fantastic book. I don't know where to begin. It tells the whole story of Apple and gives us a lot of info on the business/Apple side of the group. It is presented as interesting stories, and there are a lot of quotes from those involved. I have read a few hundred Beatle books, and this is in my top 5. If you want to hear about the music, though, the book will not be of much interest to you. This is about the business of Apple.

Required Reading for Fab Fanatics.......2007-01-29

This is a fantastic book. Detailed, well-researched and filled with the kind of arcana that this life-long Beatle fan loves. This is a history of the Apple Organization from its inception to today. It follows the careers of Apple employees, the few artists that were signed to the Apple record label, those signed to Apple music publishing and, of course, Beatles are found throughout. Based on research, but the author also conducted interviews with still living Apple staffers, artists, etc. Fascinating.

Honestly not a great book to take with you on the trip. It is a good primer before you go-what to see, but you still need another book for your travels.
There are no maps in this book-so it is difficult to plan out your travels-and you may be right near another shopping possiblity and not even know it.
I did buy this book and Eye Witness Top 10 Travel Guide to London and found after a day or two this was the only book I left for the day with-it has all of the same information, plus maps of the city. Also a smaller book that fits in a back pocket.

Planning a trip to London with my daughters--this book is extremely helpful. The authors, who are traveling sisters, are very knowledgable and eager to share their expertise. Wonderful tips on what to see and how to save money while there, as well as how to save time and money when booking your trip. Also included is a brief overview of Tudor history.
I definately recommend this girl friendly book.

I received this book for Christmas from a friend who thinks I should do a bit more traveling!! You Go Girl London makes me want to jump on a plane and head across the pond. These "girls" and their personal accounts makes me realize I really could go on a Girls Only trip to Europe and do it on a reasonable budget. I especially liked the historical aspects and the suggested books to read prior to going to London. Following this guide will give the traveler the opportunity to not just visit London but EXPERIENCE London understanding the history of what you are seeing. It will be fun to carry this guide with me as I travel and site see. Let's go girlfriends!!

Boy, this book has me so eager to go to London with some of my Book Club friends. We have read Philippa Gregory books, Alison Weir books and others that these authors incorporate into their "You've got to see this" slant on sight-seeing in London. I have been pouring over the pages with heightened anticipation. We are booking our flights soon. What a fun guide to bring along (includes maps & temperature conversion charts as well as tips for getting around and where to eat). A perfect book for an affordable girls excursion!!!

Wonderful.......1998-07-28

I gave this book to my brother when he moved to London, and he later said it was addictive to have around and use to visit where the Beatles did what they did. I visited him since then, and used the book myself to visit scenes from the movie HELP and A HARD DAY'S NIGHT, go to Chiswick House to see where The Beatles filmed the "Paperback Writer" and "Rain" videos, and go to many other Beatles London sites. This is a must-have book for anyone who is a Beatles fan and is going to visit London. Or for anyone who wants to be an armchair explorer of their old haunts. It's entertaining reading even if you'll never go to London.

The lives of Jesse James and Cole Younger and their brothers are shrouded in myths created by Nineteenth Century journalists who celebrated their deeds and by themselves through the lies they told to cover their tracks and to excuse their crimes. Brant's book attempts to separate reality from legend, covering the James and Younger brothers from birth to death. Her book is not without sympathy for her subjects, but it is by no means an apologia for their manifold sins. Although Brant rightfully sees the origin of their criminal activities in Civil War guerilla warfare which carried over into the atmosphere of bitter reprisals following the war, she also chronicles their slide into simple greed and thrill-seeking. This volume is generous in its presentation of photographs of the outlaw gang, their associates, enemies, and victims, and of the places where they operated.

WORKING TERRIERS, BADGERS and BADGER DIGGING By H.H. King This title was first published in 1931 and is now an extremely rare and sought after item in its first edition. It is now available again to all true terrier men in a revised edition published by Read Country Books. This new edition incorporates the original format plus 20 extra pages containing articles and vintage photos on the same subject. Its 130 pages of historical content contain much detailed information on the working terrier and its use in what was once an acceptable and legal field sport. The first section of the book is devoted to the Working Terrier. The author discusses the qualities and physical attributes that constitute a first class worker. He writes sensibly and with a confidence born from years of practical experience. This section then leads into a chapter of advice on the early training of terriers with much emphasis on the natural progression of their learning curve. This training period also entails the hunting of, and entering to, the rat, fox, and otter. A short chapter deals with the natural history and habits of the badger, then continues at some length with the methods and equipment used in the actual dig. The author points out that the terms "badger-digging" and "badger-baiting" should not be considered synonymous. In his opinion, "If properly conducted, badger-digging is no more cruel a sport than shooting or ratting" The final chapter is a comprehensive discourse on the care and handling of the Working Terrier. Following that are two rare articles, never before reprinted - "HUNTING BROCK THE BADGER" by J.C. Bristow-Noble (author of Working Terriers) and "THE BADGERS OF BADGWORTHY". They both contain much interesting information and many original, vintage photographs. The book is a fascinating look back at a vanished time and an excellent manual on the working terrier, with much information that is still of practical use today.

There are better towel origami books out there.......2007-05-18

I bought this book after getting into towel origami on a Carnival Cruise. This was disappointing. There were some okay ideas but all in all I would spend the $$ buying the Carnival Cruise towel origami book instead of this one. I bought this thinking that there would be ideas for a towel wedding cake. Thier version isn't near as pretty as the ones that I found searching online. Skip this one and buy the cruise one on EBAY.

I thought the instructions were vague. They don't give you towel size and/or detailed instructions. It seems like they skip a few steps. I could only do two out of the whole book and was disappointed in my purchase.

My new project.......2005-07-26

As I was reading the book, I started to walk around my house and garden, since the chapters were so relevant. The great design drawings and the beautiful pictures helped to picture directly how I can create beauty with my eyes by following the logic of the book, such as the chapters on axes, pathways, and focal points. Also, the book points out not only the plant design details but also how to place the different other elements of the garden to find harmony in the backyard. I loved the winter garden section, too - my next winter is going to come alive in my backyard!!!

All I need to do now is finishing up the design I have in my mind to get a picture perfect garden from every angle, get it on paper and install it! It is a perfect project for me.

My kids love this fun book and DVD. We have fun dancing and signing all around the house. We get great exercise and learn sign language at the same time. I was very impressed with how quickly we all picked-up the signs.

Signing for Toddlers.......2007-08-23

This is a great way to teach sign language to your toddler. The music is upbeat and fun, though a little fast. Works great in "mommy and me" playgroups

Great Product for signing with your baby/child.......2007-07-19

This is one of my favorite products out there for signing with babies and children. The songs are great and are all different styles of music. Each song has the words written out with the key words to be signed highlighted as well as clear pictures of the signs to be used with the song. Well worth the money.

Great songs -- great fun.......2007-06-26

Our twins are 14 months now, and we've all been enjoying this book/CD for almost a year together. My wife and I use the signs all the time, and now the kids do too! The production values are very high -- no canned computer music here, it's all very well done. The music styles of each song are a different genre, including big band, jazz, rock (well, kiddie rock at least). So many of these songs have become part of our standard repetoire.

I really like this item. However, I see it being more useful with a group of kids rather than the 1 i have.

Excellent........2006-09-11

I was on the east coast of the U.S., on Cape Cod, several years ago, making my way to Florence for a week. This was to be my first trip to Florence [though not to Italy]. I was trying to decide on a good book to read while in Florence, just as I happened by a local little bookstore on the street in which I was walking. As I glanced in the window, there was Anton Gill's "Il Gigante."

At that moment I had no doubt that this was the book for me to read on my Italian excursion.

I read Gill's book as I was walking the streets of Florence, able to sit in a square upon which Michelangelo once strode, visit the many churches in which he worked, and sit for an afternoon in the Acdemia where `David' now resides.

I found Anton gill's book to be full of fascinating details not only about Michelangelo, but about the creation of art in the early renaissance. Intermingled with stories about Michelangelo's `David' there are tales of politics and rivalries, patrons and intrigue. It was incredible to be able to read about the history of Michelangelo's commission's as I was viewing them with my own eyes.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book - and I would highly recommend reading it while in a café on the streets of Florence.

This book tells us about almost everything but little about the David.
The author has selected info from various books and tells well known stories.
Very disappointing
