Debemos de ser concientes que el trauma que provocan acontecimientos historicos solo se canalisan de una manera sana, cuando de verdad somos concientes de los echos. Por eso este libro no debe quedar solo como un importante material para los historiadores sino que debe y puede ser explorado por una masa critica, provocando que nuestro sistema social implote, de manera que seamos una sola fuerza, sana y creativa.

Kalfton detalla a un hombre maravilloso como ser humano, con una gran fuerza espiritual que lo llevo a seguir su propio destino como una meta propia y unica. Solo Ernesto Guevara, nacido para ser lider, pudo jugar el papel que el represento como revolucionario y como hombre. Pierre Kalfton describe a un joven con ideales mas fuertes que su propio horizonte, a un hombre con una curiosidad avida en la lectura y maravilloso con su gente. Nomada por naturaleza, jugo con la misma muerte para burlarse de ella. Un libro que recomiendo al maximo, es sin duda una leyenda de nuestro siglo.

During the 1800s trains carried the nation's wealth throughout the east, but no one thought to rob a speeding train until 1866. In 1870 the first western train was robbed in Nevada and within hours a second train was robbed. Railroads made every alteration to their cars and changed every procedure they could imagine to thwart the robbers, but to no avail. Robbing trains became epidemic over the next five decades, even when the legislatures made train robbery a capital crime. A few of the hundreds of train robberies stand out as thrilling and dangerous affairs, and the greatest of these (15-20) are included in this book.

Inaccuracies.......2001-08-21

I can only comment about the Evans-Sontag portion of the book, a subject which I have researched extensively. This chapter was riddled with inaccuracy. One photo of the wounded John Sontag was captioned, "John Sontag shortly after his death." In fact, Sontag lived a considerable time after this was snapped, through surgeries, and died later of gangrene. I could give several other examples. The book is not without merit, since there were interesting photos I hadn't seen before to accompany the story. For that reason, I give it two stars. But the text of this chapter doesn't reflect serious research, in my opinion.

Gerbils.......2005-07-30

I think I got this book from the library once. I didn't actually read this book, and I'm glad I didn't, since other reviewers say it has mistakes.
I am writing this review because in another review someone said there aren't albino gerbils.
I know there are albino gerbils, because I OWN an albino gerbil! Her name is Snowflake. She is white with red eyes, so she is an albino gerbil.
I don't know if the other information is right or wrong, but I just wanted everyone to know there are albino gerbils.

This is a good, well-rounded book.......2000-01-22

This book covers all the basics to owning a gerbil. It has a easy to understand genetic chart and helpful advice in breeding, housing, and simply everyday care. It covers nutrition and food that is poisonous. this is a great book for a beginner and a helpful resource to have around.

Not very good..........1999-06-07

This book, like so many others, is filled with misconceptions about gerbils, their care, and especially breeding and genetics. I would definitely not follow most of the advice in this book, because it is largely incorrect. For instance, it says that females are less quarrelsome than males. While this is true in mice, it does not apply to gerbils, in which females are much more quarrelsome than males. Also, "One of the first color mutations to appear in gerbils was the albino". Hah! Still to this date, there is no such thing as albino among gerbils. And "The black gerbil is one of the newer colors to become available commercially". Yeah right. Blacks were the 2nd color (after golden agouti) to become available! There is also a picture of a gerbil turned on its back. It is labeled as a male, while it is clearly a female! Basically, this book is a laugh to read, and might turn out to be quite dangerous for the less-informed gerbil owner taking its advice for granted. However, this book is not completely bad; it has very nice color pictures, and some of the advice in it is correct, such as it stating that cedar bedding is dangerous and should be avoided as bedding.

This book does nothing for me! (or my gerbils!).......1999-05-18

While on the surface it may appear informative because it's full of "facts", the author does, in fact, know nothing about gerbil breeding (especially genetics.. whee gave me a good laugh there.) I'm a pretty well-respected gerbil breeder and I've raised many gerbils, and let me tell you a lot of their info is just plain wrong. (unfortunately this is the case with most gerbil books, especially the TFH ones, so sad). A lot of the breeding info is just plain dangerous (ie leaving 2 females with one male. Sure, if you want dead pups or mothers, hey why not go ahead?) So depressing. Don't buy this book--there are much better ones. If you want to know my opinion on some other books, then email me! =)

I love gerbils. This book helped me allot with my gerbils. Thanks to this book I am now a professional gerbil breeder. I recomend this bok to people who are interested in owning gerbils.

I ordered this book because I had seen a pic of a gorgeous zipper quilt that someone made from the pattern in it. (It's the design on the book cover).

In my opinion the rest of the quilt designs inside (except for maybe one other)are ho-hum and just don't have the charm and interest of the traditional quilt block layouts.

The book has good instructions and templates...tips and advice on quiltmaking from start to finish, help on choosing fabrics and colors.

There are instructions for making the quilts in several sizes, wall hanging,twin,full, and queen. It would be nice to see a few with instructions for a crib,toddler quilt size ( about 45x60).

A good book,perhaps, for someone who is tired of the traditional quilts (as if !!) and wants to try something a little different.

This quilt book is wonderful! I am not a modern quilt lover, but this book isn't artsy modern, it is full of clean line quilt patterns that lend themselves to a wide variety of themed fabrics. I have made two quilts in this book and used vintage fabrics for one and bright colors for the other - both turned out wonderful! The instructions are clear and easy to understand. This book is WELL worth the price!

This book is refreshing simply because it doesn't go over the same old quilt patterns - no nine patch or log cabin here! Quilts can be modern AND beautiful! I enjoy this book because it helped me understand more about color and fabric choice. It inspired me to take more chances in my quilting. I enjoyed the voice in which this book was written. It was very easy to understand and the quilts are beautiful and achievable.

I like the layout of this book. It is easy to read, and also ranks the difficulty of the project. The back of the book has cutting templates, how to care for your quilt, how to bind the quilt, and a whole lot of info about cutting & piecing. I am glad I bought the book. Some of the projects aren't really my style (such as the 'book club', 'once upon a time' or 'confetti') but the other quilt projects look pretty nice. I was hoping for more quilting projects - the book isn't too thick - but I suppose you could get creative and branch off what they do here. Love all the color combinations they show. The information in the back of the book is great, and I think that alone made it worth the purchase.

Not your mother's quilt book........2007-04-23

Modern, simple, classic and simply beautiful quilts. The instructions seem clear, though I have not made anything from this book yet. All quilts are rated on a 1-5 scale from basic to advanced skills, and there are different colorways shown for each quilt as well as info for varying sizes. There is also a tip section.

Helped me raise a super son!.......2007-06-14

I read this book when it was new over 10 years ago. My son is now 24 years old.

I raised him alone because his father was an absent parent (aka - an alcoholic). To top off our disadvantage, I was a teen parent. But, I was a strong mother and indeed raised a strong son. He has excelled both in college (graduated summa cum laude from a top west coast university) and is now very successful as an IT manager/consultant. And, he is an extremely caring yet mature young man. He respects females in the work place as well as all people in general. He isn't afraid to take on tough business challenges and see through these challenges to the end.

I am blessed to have a son that is someone to be very proud of. I am very fortunate that he still comes to me for support and openly communicates to me about his life. This book helped provide me with simply the "guts" to be a strong mother when it was most needed during his teen years and into his college years.

I advise all moms toughing it out alone to read this book and find the bravery to be the best you can be for your son. Let him experience life, but guide him with an open and loving, but firm hand. It will pay off!

A useful book for raising a teenage son........2006-02-09

I found this book to be useful in understanding why my son was already entering teenage rebellion at the age of 12. The advice to give more independence while staying in charge on things that REALLY matter was invaluable. I convinced my husband to participate in this process which was not easy. The result was excellent and within one year he was in control of his own behavior without constant supervision. He is now 18 and we never had any major difficulties during his teenage. I do not know why a male reviewer was so negative about the book but I totally disagree. The book is based on research and confirmed by information in other books that were published somewhat later (written by men such as Michael Gurian's "The Wonder of Boys")

Stick to girls!.......2001-08-05

In attempting to better understand my son after divorce, I read this, as one of perhaps a dozen books that were recommended. In a short summary, and as a divorced dad, I believe this author should stick to what she understands, girls and their mothers. There are much better books if you are interested in understanding how boys grow, and how to help them mature.

This book was a lifesaver in my dealing with my 13-year old son who seemed determined to take out all his frustrations and anger at his parents' divorce on me. Understanding why he is the way he is and what is normal and not normal has helped me enjoy being around him more. This book gave me the strength to stand my ground with my son who is constantly pushing the limits to the max. I wish my ex-husband would read the book because I think Caron's insight into boys is invaluable, regardless of whether you are a mom or dad.

Frank Lloyd Wright's view on life, politics, ethics, media,.......1999-07-20

His views on life were timeless, what a better way to get to know Frank L. Wright as a man than hearing his own words. The interview covered many topics, media(they did not even have a word for it), sex, politics, etc. Frank Lloyd Wright favored 'bottom-up, non-artificial' approach to life and his philosophy reflected in all of his work.
