        I bought this to help find places my husband and I can go for short 2-3 day holidays. This book has a lot of information about barriers that most able-bodied people take for granted - ie, gravel walkways vs hard surface, etc. It's divided by regions so you can easily find whatever is available in any given area - for example: Horse& buggy rides with lock-downs for wheelchairs, ramps into pools, accessible rental condos, fishing trips, accessible canoeing, water parks with ramps etc. This will be put to very good use this year!! No excuses now!

The authors list so many aids and so many fun activities that anyone who has hesitated to travel because of physical disabilities will want to make Florida a top destination.         I was a little reluctant at first to purchase this book because of the price and being disappointed in another access guide I had purchased. Also, I don't use a wheelchair on a regular basis. After reading a review, I decided to give it a try and I am so glad I did. Its detailed descriptions of the tourist attractions made it easy for me to decide if the attraction would meet my needs. I never realized how many activities were available for those who use wheelchairs. It opened my eyes to so many things I had not even thought about doing. And the accommodations listed are not just motels! The list includes campgrounds, cabins, B & B's, houses, condos, even houseboats and an RV. There is also an appendix chock full of helpful resources. Thank you Wheelchairs on the Go. This book is a real gift to the disabled community and a bargain at twice the price!

        A collaborative effort by Michelle Stigleman and Deborah Van Brunt, Wheelchairs On The Go: Accessible Fun In Florida is a straightforward and very "user friendly" guide to Florida's handicapped-friendly tourist resorts, theme parks, beaches, lodging, fishing, camping, and much, much more. Individual chapters identify the best every regional section of Florida and what it has to offer for the wheelchair-bound vacationer looking for fun and relaxation. Proffering a superbly organized wealth of facts, addresses, phone numbers, and everything else a vacationer needs to know, Wheelchairs On The Go is an excellent resource and would serve as a superb template for developing similar travel guides for other states.

              In all my years of ferret farming never have i, or my ferret, been so satisfied with a good bedtime story as 'The Essential Ferret'. Although the Ancestory isnt quite correct as Brian pointed out, it is a thoroughly engaging read and personally i rate it alongside 'Middlemarch' and 'Crime and Punishment'. Brian is my ferret. If i was to give one criticism, it would be the lack of exciting ferret fun filled photos. Although a ferret in a photo aint no real ferret, its still mighty exciting to gaze at. 'The Essential Ferret' is somewhat reminiscant of 'The Secret Weasel' by Deborah Dingos in that it also is a book. Strange considering weasels and ferrets are so similar also! This masterpiece is truely...essential.

              This book was highly informative and I am a veteran ferret owner and consider myself knowledgeable. It's not a complete Bible on ferrets or ferret owning, but if you only choose one book, let this be it. :)

              Betsy Siino's book is an edited-down copy of "The Ferret: An Owner's Guide to a Happy Healthy Pet" by Mary Shefferman. I can find NO new material in this book; indeed, except for the removal of parts (i.e. "editing"), it is word-for-word the same. The use of a new title and the publication under an editor's name (Siino) is a shallow and greedy attempt to confuse the consumer and steal their money by suggesting they are purchasing a new book about ferrets from a new author. The lack of clear reference to the original author, Mary Shefferman, is unethical and repugnant (although apparently legal). While I highly recommend Shefferman's book, I suggest that people refuse to purchase this volume--not because of the content--but because of the unethical marketing strategy. How would you feel if someone took YOUR book, edited out parts, stripped off your name, then published it under an editor's name? The only motivation I can find for this is pure greed. Please, if you want a book on ferrets, buy a different title. Boycott this book.

This is a great collection of articles from the last decade of Fine Woodworking Magazine and a great place for beginners to get a jump on learning.                 I have read this book nearly cover to cover and have found it easy reading as well as most informative for a beginning/intermediate woodworker. The photos are very clear and the articles are easy to understand. I can't wait to put some new methods to the test.

                Not worth the money buy a different book if you are interesting in learning how to build kitchen cabinets. This book is random and appears to be chapters of previously published material.

                This book was not at all what I was looking for. There were too many opions on cabinet building in one book none of which were in any detail. Too general and the various contributors at times condemed the styles of one another. Seemed as though they put together monthly issues of various woodworking magazines.Not what I exspected

                I liked this book. It challenges you to move past basic cabinet making to furniture quality construction. It includes good detail and suggestions that improve your skills. This book has the quality of it's namesake magazine.

                  There is a number of reasons behind why I call this book excellent and rate it 5 stars.

                  First of all because it's a "result of a two-year study of 285 parents - normal, regular parents much like you, with normal, infuriating kids much like yours" (p. 1).

                  And then because it's very informative and practical and composed in a logical step-wise manner: The 1. chapter describes the effects of anger on child development in general and states that (and describes why): "Children of angry parents are more aggressive and noncompliant" (p. 4); "Children of angry parents are less empathic" (p. 5); "Children of angry parents have poor overall adjustment" (p. 5). And how it later in life among other problems can lead to alienation and depression. But most of all, how and why your kid(s) sooner and later will withdraw from you and instead of trying to please you and make you proud just want's to avoid pain (p. 9).

                  In chapter 2 you can test whether you (and your kid(s)) might have a problem, why you get angry (chapter 3), possible reasons behind why your kid(s) behave(s) the way he og she/they behave(s) (chapter 4) and what you can do better or differently in the future by changing what you think (chapter 5), do (chapter 6) and say (chapter 7)...

                  This book explains about your emotions and trying to raise children. Some of us have short fuses and need to learn how to rethink situations that could lead to harmful situations for both parents and children. I find the material very helpful. I also bought this book for a friend who was interested in the topic and she loves it too. My husband bought it and had not touched it yet but I will keep reminding him. Great and interesting book.

                  I'm going to say that this is THE best parenting book I've read (and believe me, I've read a lot!). I don't consider anger to be a big problem of mine, but nonetheless this book taught me how to keep my patience and has some awesome tips. If you're a mom or dad striving to build a great relationship with your child, go ahead and read it.

                  A technical book that explains the reasons parents get angry, how that affects children, and gives suggestions on how to get control of angry emotions. Lots of data to back up their ideas. For more practical ideas on how to handle parents and kids anger I'd suggest two books by Elizabeth Pantley - Kid Cooperation (How to Stop Yelling, Nagging and Pleading) and Perfect Parenting Dictionary of 1000 Parenting Tips with entries such as: Child's Anger, Parents Anger, Disrespect, Expressions of Hate, Fighting.

                  This is a great collection of information on Pollock. One of the greatest things to note is the inclusion of material from after his death in 1956, his influence on society. This includes editorial cartoons, poems written about and inspired by Pollock and his work, as well as scripts from plays based on his life. I would have to say that if you were looking for a good introduction to the man, the artist, and the influence he had/has on contemporary society, then pick this collection up.
