This is the best guide I have come across for Walt Disney World and the Orlando area. I had purchased several different books in 1999 when we took our first trip. I am purchasing this book again for our upcoming trip. Each park and it's attractions are covered in detail with helpful Power Trip info that helps make the most of your time. In addtion there are several other Orlando attractions that are covered in this book with detail covering Universal's parks and Sea World.

The book also reviews many hotels including Disney's, critiquing each in detail. Includes pricing and some of the ameneties, tips on the best times to travel to Orlando in relation to crowds, weather, and how to negotiate the best packages and pricing.

The candidness of the author and reviewers of the parks contained within this book are remarkable and really helped us plan our trip using our limited time to the best of our advantage.

I highly recommend this book as one to use to plan your Orlando vacation.

Just a little improvment.......2000-01-15

The only improvement that could be made is the coupons in the back of the book could have expiration dates a little later in the following year. I purchased this book in January of 2000 for a trip in Febuary and the coupons touted as saving up to $1000 expired in December of 1999. Other than that the book is very eazy to understand and will be very useful in our upcoming trip.

Cancer and Intimacy.......2002-10-15

I have known a number of people with cancer, and I think I had close relationships with them. However, somehow I learned more about what really happens when people get cancer from this book than I have learned from suffering friends and family. The reality is so grave that I suppose the people I know did not want to bring me in to the pain. But the participants in these workshops feel free to unburden themselves and get specific and I have a more real view of the cancer experience now than I did before. The scathing and lonely vignettes about radiation really got to me, and while it's painful it's also better to know than not to know.

Triumph of the spirit........2002-10-12

When I read The Cancer Monologue Project, I made 30 new friends; each with their own very individual voice and outlook. They share a gruesome commonality, cancer, but something even stronger unites them. What I found most enlightening was the gratitude these survivors expressed for the very disease that brought them, or a loved one, to death's door. Wisdom, humility, and a deep appreciation for family seem to be the legacy of the pain, fear and degradation they endured. In celebrating life, these people made me laugh through my tears as they generously shared intimate details of their journey. I can't help feeling I've been given a primer on how to live my remaining years to their fullest; a gift from these extraordinary contributors.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book to read, and reread, and give to everyone you love.

exceptional book.......2002-10-11

I purchased this book as a gift for an uncle who has just been operated on for colon cancer after reading about it in the Oprah Winfrey magazine which she highly reccomended. After leafing through a story or two I wound up reading it cover to cover on the weekend before mailing it out. It really is an exceptionally moving work and will inspire anyone that reads it whether they have been touched by the disease, know someone who has (as we all have)or just needs to be reminded how precious life really is. I cannot wait to see what the authors bring us in the future.

The authors didn't have to put themselves in others shoes to to convey these enormously brave and inspirational accounts. The authors in their own shoes, brilliantly edited, make this book a must for anyone directly and indirectly faced with cancer's devistation.

Great book for learning the basics of a Baltimore Album Quilt in 12 lessons. Try the companion books of patterns by Elly also. This book begins slowly and continues to make you want to do more and more appliqueing.

This book is a real enjoyment and contains a world of knowledge regarding Baltimore Quilting. It covers all areas of information needed to take on a quilting task of this nature. Elly Sienkiewicz is a true star in her knowledge and ability to share it with the rest of the quilting world. I would highly recommend this and her other books gladly.

Hard to find Baltimore quilt book for experienced quilters........2002-04-19

This book takes you through the steps of Baltimore quilts by hand sewing. Elly is an expert and experienced historian of Baltimore quilts as well as an expert in hand piecing Baltimore quilts. At the end of the 10 lessons you become an experienced in piecing Baltimore quilts. The book includes over 50 pages of quilt patterns to piece. Have fun with this great book.

My love of Hawaiian quilting attracted me to this book and Baltimore album quilting. The instructions and patterns are clear and the designs are awesome. I particularly like the simpler patterns like double hearts, fleur-de-lis, and you are perfect (a pineapple design). I think it may be possible to machine applique as well as hand applique these designs. Of course, there are many intricate designs too--many that require rouched flowers and curved stems and intricate applique that I can only imagine being quilted by the most devoted. The directions on how to cut out the patterns with paper folding are clear and helpful. You could spend a lifetime making the quilts in this book--and what a beautiful life you'd have!

A must-have well-illustrated overview of italian villas.......2000-11-02

This book is the best all-around overview of the design of Italian Villa Gardens I have found to date. This is largely due to the strength of the analytical diagrams that carefully disect the spatial organization of the villa, and faithfully explore the house-garden relationship that is the essence of these places. If you are an architecture or landscape architecture student interested in the Italian villa, the diagrams are some of the best published sources available. The text is very concise, almost too short...but this also makes the topic useful for the student with more interest in the topic than time. Fortunately the authors know their topic well enough to focus their commentary with great precision.

Garden Architecture in Europe is full of full color photographs and drawings of European gardens. It is full of magnificent inspiration for garden lovers, particularly if you enjoy formal parterres, colannades, terraces and water fountains.

The text mainly comprises historical prose with annecdotal comments, however, these is very little information in relation to designing, building or maintaining the type of garden pictured.

Ideal as a coffee table accessory or waiting room "magazine", this book provides an ejoyable wander through some truly superb classic gardens. It is not suitable for the student.

Gilbert Welton was an eminent ecclesiastical administrator who won papal favour when visiting the Curia at Avignon. He recruited qualified staff before settling in the impoverished, war-torn diocese of Carlisle, which had not been accustomed to a resident bishop or to a high standard of episcopal government. His professionalism is reflected in the professional quality of his register. Among its contents are a dozen records of matrimonial causes (one Carlisle woman was divorced twice in six weeks); of further social interest are the 59 wills of laymen and beneficed clergy, many of them victims of the second visitation of the Black Death in 1362. This volume offers a calendar of the whole manuscript, with an appendix of full Latin texts of entries of special interest.
