We believe.......2000-11-28
At some expense, our entire family from San Francisco, Tulsa and Chicago is traveling to BA on a toot because we've never been there. Based on this book's recommendations, we have made our reservations and plans accordingly. Our Chicago newspaper reporter son checked out everything, and tells us the book's information is true, correct and very useful... We have carved out all of our 8-day doings schedule from the Fodor's recommendations...
Fodor's Pocket Buenos Aires.......2000-11-22
Great recommendations for dining, shopping & hotels. 80% of the time this book hit the mark. A few of the maps and addresses however will get you to the general neighborhood you are looking for but don't lead you directly to the right destination. If you don't mind getting a little lost on foot from time to time, it is a relatively good book.

Customer Reviews:
Thank you Melvin! Great book, one complaint.......2004-09-01
First of all, thank you to Melvin from Pa for offering the updated information on how to contact Wade and for a great review.
Secondly, Wall Street Money Machine VOL 2 is a great book. I have been following these strategies through August and made some nice gains. In particular, using the tandem plays has been very effective for me.
My only complaint is that toll free number that is listed in the book. CAUTION: This is an old number and is no longer a link to Wade Cook's company. Instead, it is a link to one of Wade's competitor's and based on a brief conversation that I had, one that needs to be avoided.
And Melvin, I contacted my local bookstore and they h ave Wade's newest book in stock and I am on my way now to pick it up. Thanks for recommending it!
Why not decide for yoruself?.......2004-08-31
I see Gary Walls is back with his incessant 1 star bashings of Wade. Having done some research it was widely believed that Walls went down with the stock market decline. Apparently not.
My suggestion is not to listen to that sole 1 star basher or any of the 5 star reviewers either. Why not go to your local library and borrow it for FREE and then decide if you want to follow Wade's advice and if making this cash flow textbook a permanent part of your library is worth it to you?
Good advice huh? You won't find Gary Walls offering that kind of advice, much easier to bash without evidence and I guess the fact that you are being paid by Wade's competitors to bash Wade may have something to do with.
I also recommend that you check out Wednesday's with Wade, a teleconference program every Wednesday at 9:00PM EST. Go to Wade's website www.wadecook.org. for details. Get Wade's newest strategies. Also recommend Wade's newest book Wade Cook's Stock Picking Handbook.
Disregard parasites like GARY WALLS. These kind of people obviously have an agenda and it has nothing to do with helping you financially or helping you discover the truth.
Take Cook's strategies with a grain of salt........2004-08-27
I read this book and was pretty unimpressed. The majority of the time I felt like I was reading a large pamphlet for is seminars and online website. I think he even included his 1-800 number at least half a dozen times within the text (If you have any more questions just call 1-800... and we can set you up with some more information).
Secondly, before reading anything by him do a quick web-search on a popular search engine for "Wade Cook", and just read some of the websites. The first one that comes up is him home page that states that his company has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. I bring these points up because with a book like this, where you are following someone's investment advice, you have to check the person's credentials and see if they really know what they are talking about -- in my opinion his credentials don't check out.
Lastly, as it says, I gave these book 2 stars, simply because some of the information is useful such as his explanation of options and different types of stock that you can trade. But his writing style is too casual and he doesn't explain the put/call options all that well, he just starts going into the strategy and how to use them, but if you don't know how they work -- you are going to get burned, and burned bad. If you do want to read this book, do pay him for it - go to a library. There are plenty of other stock market books on amazon.com that are worth your $20+. If you do read this book, take in all the information about the way trading works, but don't listen to any of his strategy advice.

More strategies by Wade.......2004-07-16
In this second in a series of books on cash flowing the stock market, financial expert Wade Cook goes even deeper into his revolutionary strategies. You'll read more about covered calls, rolling stocks, stock split exit strategies, naked puts and more. This book will put your cash flow on turbo charge!
Demystified option trading for me.......2004-07-11
Before buying this great book by the great Wade Cook, I knew nothing about trading, the stock market and thought options was a choice on which stock to buy. WADE COOK helped demystify the whole darn thing for me. Trading became easy, fun and very profitable. Even without knowing what I was doing completely, I was able to make 200%-1000% annualized returns.
This book is different than Wall Street Money Machine VOL 1. It covers trading much more completely. Another winner from Wade.

Needed book for class.......2006-11-10
This book is nothing but lines on paper. It's way too expensive for what it is. I only bought it because it was manditory for a class.
Must have for homework.......2001-03-20
My professor assigns homework from the Accounting Principles textbook. These working papers made doing my homework incredibly easier by saving me the time of having to draw out the lines needed for journal entries and such. I definely recommend this for anyone tempted to drop out of their accounting class because the homework takes so dang long.
Book Description
Principles of Accounting leads the market with balanced, flexible content supported by an array of truly integrated print and technology supplements. Whether an instructor wants to present a user or procedural orientation, incorporate new instructional strategies, develop students' core skills and competencies, or integrate technology into the classroom, the 2002e edition provides a total solution.
Because most students taking the introductory accounting course are business majors, the new edition focuses on the business relevance of accounting, emphasizing decision making and analysis. The integrated text and technology program allows students and instructors to take advantage of opportunities created by new instructional technologies.
- New co-author Susan Crosson, coordinator of the accounting department at Santa Fe Community College and chair of the Two-Year College Section of the American Accounting Association, enhances the text with her expertise in managerial accounting and instructional technology.

Good Experience.......2007-03-09
The merchandise arrived in a timely fashion the overall was a good experience.
Excellent Introductory to Accounting.......2006-10-07
Principles of Accounting - 7th Edition is a very elaborate book introducing accounting guidelines. Over 1000 pages of all levels of learning from begginer to advanced. It includes transparencies in some portions to make understanding statements very easy!
Great intro to accounting.......2003-06-09
I liked reading this book for my accounting 101 class. The text is clear, well organized and well written. The typography makes liberal use of color, which makes reading _much_ easier when compared to a monochrome textbook. There are copious examples, illustrations and exercises. The book comes with a workbook (purchased separately) which contains template pages to write in your answers (trust me, you will need it). All chapters are grounded in current reality -- the authors make a point of tying the concepts to real-life situations.
On the cons, the 2002 edition deals with 2000 data -- their production process needs to be speeded up.
I think that a thorough review of this text will give the reader an excellent start in basic accounting.

This is a book good for beginner has step by step guide how to make the individual items. IT is a value for money book for beginner.
Making Doll's House Miniatures.......2005-10-24
My son used his sister's copy of this book and loved it. He asked for it for Christmas and I bought it and received it so quickly, I was impressed. I can't wait to give it to him. It looks very impressive to me, also.
Great book!.......2004-03-02
The variety of projects in this book and the step-by-step explanations, make it a great resource for beginners and experienced miniature makers.
I would recommend this book to anyone who's interested in making their own dollhouse miniatures!
This is the most wonderful book.......2003-10-07
I made myself a miniature drugstore since I am a pharmacist and I had trouble finding things like mortars and cylinders. Thanks to this book I managed to make the most beautiful look-alike mortars with pestles and all, also a little turn-of-the-century (last century, of course) telephone. The directions are precise and you can really get what you are looking for (and I had never touched polymer clay in my life!)
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!.......2002-11-30
This book is so full of good ideas for creating items in perfect scale for a dollhouse that I don't know where to start.
How to make your own tools and formers, making dishes and pots that are more realistically thin-walled than the commercially-available items, mimicking china, a ladies' vanity set, a desk set, baskets, metal, wood, flatware, foods, fireplace tools - even the kitchen sink! Way too many different items to name them all. If I was to be forced to give up all my dollhouse books but one, this would be the one I'd keep.
Excellent intro to using the clays - basic information. Trouble-shooting tips along the way.
And her videos are fabulous, too. :-)

A clematis book you should have!.......2000-08-05
The author is a famous clematis breeder and gardener near Exeter, Devon, , UK. "A Comprehensive Guide to Clematis" was first published in 1989, but it is still one of my favourite clematis books.I like most his detailed and accurate descriptions of clematis species and cultivars, but every information this expert gives us about cultivation, propagation and pests and diseases is worth to be red carefully. Don't forget, Barry Fretwell is the breeder of the world-famous Texensis-hybrid 'The Princess of Wales' (often called now 'Princess Diana'). If you don't have it in your garden - look for it and buy it! Besides, he bred a lot of other fine clematis too.

Of course everything you know about love and sex isn't wrong. But Pepper Schwartz and her publisher know how to make a catchy title. Professor of sociology at the University of Washington and coauthor of several books on relationships, sex, and parenting, Schwartz here offers 25 common myths and debunks them. Her goal? "I want to help you take a fresh look at a whole lot of sacred cows." She accomplishes this, although only a handful of these 25 cows are grazing in the sex field. An example: "Even if sex isn't fantastic in the beginning, it can be fixed." Not true, Schwartz cautions; if you're disappointed early on, bad sex can derail love, bonding, and commitment--and practice won't make perfect.
Most of the myths she includes are about relationships, as in "you will know when you have met 'the one,'" and "your lover should be your best friend." In the "Never Go to Bed Mad," chapter, she denounces the practice of "venting": "The idea is that, like a vent, you can let hot air out and make the temperature cooler. But what scientists find is that anger builds up more anger," fostering "the kind of adrenalized conversation that encourages couples to say things that they never should say."
Schwartz's Ph.D. seems to be in pragmatism. In the chapter "Everyone Should Cohabit Before Marriage," she warns, "If you eventually hope for marriage, don't live together for over a year. Let's get real. You know everything you need to know by then, and if you think you don't, you are kidding yourself." And on lusting after someone other than your partner: "Attractions are more often an artifact of the circumstances than of the person--and so many people can be fascinating for a short period of time."
Whether on flirting or fantasizing, each chapter reads like a quickie column (she's written for Glamour and Playboy), and superficial advice is all she can squeeze into a few pages on such heavy topics as infidelity. While this is not a deeply analytical look at complex issues, it would be helpful for anyone just beginning to challenge longstanding relationship assumptions, or wanting to reconfirm values and ideals. --Rebecca Taylor
Book Description
Many of us have been brought up with common beliefs about
intimacy and love that are not only untrue but also potentially damaging. What we've heard from our mothers, our friends, or from the media has become so ingrained that we-intentionally or not-force ourselves and our partners to adhere to certain rules or behavior that can be self-destructive.
In the provocative and audacious style that has become her hallmark, Pepper Schwartz questions assumptions, challenges values, and breaks rules. Drawing on compelling stories of individuals with whom she has worked and the studies she has conducted over the past two decades, Dr. Schwartz uncovers a new way to understand our most intimate relationships. As she explores why we believe these myths to be true and why they seem to have such an enduring influence, she also provides fresh alternatives that allow us to discover more fulfilling emotional lives.

Ice Breaker.......2007-09-14
I've purchased several books recently on the subjects of "Sex" and "Relationships". Not knowing where to begin, or how to address these issues with my fiance, or anyone I've been with for that matter, has always been an issue for me. Not communicating my wants as a woman has been to my own detriment and therefore, my responsibility. This book hit on some great topics that, when I read them to my fiance, we were able to begin talking about the subject of "S" (Sex) and how we could improve, or achieve more satisfaction while doing "H" (Humping) H is what his now grown daughter called what a couple were doing on a show she (didn't want to look at) when she was at the babysitters when she was 7 or 8.
For women that are wishing you could tell your partner that you want to play with yourself, manually, or with toys, there's a good ice breaker for that. For someone with an overly jealous partner, there's an ice breaker for that. (Good luck, no matter how much you adjust, it won't be enough) Good book. Small price for a huge door opener.
She could have done better.......2007-09-11
I love Dr. Schwartz. At the University of Washington in the `80s, she and Philip Blumstein did the definitive research on bi women and later wrote a great examination of married life. This book, however is beneath that standard. The 25 "myths" she debunks are more pop culture and less science. I got the distinct impression that she phoned in a paycheck.
If you want to read her better work on love and marriage, find an old copy of their opus, "American Couples: Money, Work and Sex."
Disappointing and superficial, but decent in terms of getting one to examine their beliefs around sex.......2006-07-10
I didn't find this book to be particularly enlightening, but I can see where it would help people to examine their beliefs around love and sex and adopt more conscious beliefs as a result. On the other hand, I wasn't impressed with much of the advice. In fact, I would say some of it was irresponsible and in some cases was contradicted later in the book.
Overall, this was an interesting read and it openly explores territory that other writers don't want to venture into such as jealousy, affairs, lying, etc. However, the examination of these areas is not necessarily deep, consistent or based on any type of real research. However, she does through in an occasional citation to back up her opinion, but not very often.
Much of the thinking in this book seems to be driven by a narcissistic worldview. In other words, the right thing to do is the thing that gets you want you want with minimum risk. I'm not sure I would be particularly proud of myself or my life if that was a code that I adopted and over a lifetime it turned out to be my legacy.
On the other hand, the author takes a practical view of difficult to discuss topics and examines many of the disconnections between what people say they believe and what they actually do. This can be a real eye opener for many. The author also offers some good advice and insights, but philosophically I diverge from her core beliefs and don't accept the assumptions they are based on. I realize others might find more congruence.
I was particularly disturbed by author's advice about lying. While I can see where lying might save a relationship or spare people conflict, it may also spare them badly needed personal growth and a sense of responsibility for their actions. She also leaves out the fact that lying can become a downward spiral and devastate self esteem. For a book that takes a deeper look at lying in personal relationships, I would check out PRIVATE LIES by Frank Pittman. To my knowledge this is the best discussion of this controversial area.
Another important point that the author leaves out about lying is that it may be a flag you are with the wrong person or have some personal growth work to do. If you can't talk to your partner because you don't feel safe, then maybe there is a compatibility issue. The point of using this area as an example is to illustrate that important implications of behavior are often not looked at deeply or even ignored.
Where the book succeeds is at getting you to look deeply at the truth you are living and contrasting this with some hard realities about the landscape of modern love relationships. Even if you disagree with what the author says, the book raises questions which might not go examined without this kind of stimulus.
The book is and the author has a style of writing that pulls the reader in from a drama standpoint. However, I am less excited by her ideas and the quality of her thought process. That is not to say she is not a very bright woman, but given the importance of the topics in question, I think a deeper examination would have served more people. Put another way, people might act on this advice and I feel she would have helped more people if she did a deeper and more thorough analysis of the issues she was discussing. Prior to writing this book, she gave advice for on relationship for Glamour, so I would expect something along similar lines.
I personally disagree with her advice in a number of areas. However, the book is entertaining and a light read. If that is what you are looking for then it might be a good fit. However, if you are looking for solid relationship advice, I would turn to other sources such as WILL OUR LOVE LAST by Sam Hamburg. (I have listed some of my personal favorite books on love, sex and relationships in a listmania list under my profile. You might find this interesting to check out as well.)
Dr Pepper hits the relationship nail on the head........2003-08-19
Not only is she a relationship expert but she knows how to write a captivating book and give you unique insight into your relationship, your partner and yourself.
Having had the opportunity to meet her in person, I was thrilled to read her books ...
Definitely for the over-60 set.......2003-02-13
The author is glib and self-satisfied in telling the over-60 set that their old-fashioned mores about sex are... well, old-fashioned. If you have not been living in a cave for the last 20 years, all of the "pragmatism" in this book will sound like advice from the Mom in an after-school special. While I was not very chaste before marriage, I agree with the domestic abuse therapist on many points, especially where he intimates that it is this kind of book that allows unfaithful/abusive partners to justify their behavior. Most importantly, what Schwartz could learn from younger women who probably know a lot more about sex than she does, is that her advice confuses sex for a single person with sex for a committed person. She wants all her repressed married couples to adopt mores of the sexually open-minded 90's. Bad Advice. Nothing wrong with a little experimentation if you're single. When you are committed, it's a whole different situation and I don't think the same rules apply.

Book Description
Glass artist Robert Willson (1912-2000) was one of the most complex and contradictory American artists of the past century. He was at once regional and international, steeped in Pre-Columbian art as well as Texas folklore. Educated in the Southwest and 1930s Mexico, he discovered the glass studios of Murano, Italy, and became one of the first American sculptors to use solid glass in a small factory setting.
This lavishly illustrated monograph, with examples from American and Italian art museums, brings the expatriate Texan's story home to America. Diarist, correspondent, art magazine contributor, museum catalog author, and loquacious television interview subject, Willson is heard here in his own words.
As a young man, Willson was swept up in the Mexican Revolution; his photographs of his friends Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, José Clemente Orozco, David Alfaro Siqueiros, and Rufino Tamayo are published here for the first time. Throughout his career, his art blended ancient Maya imagery with ancient Venetian glassmaking techniques.
