A very good book -- it helped me a lot.......1999-10-27

Quicken is hard to use until you get the hang of it, and this book helped me "get it." Everything is explained clearly. When I had a problem or a question, I was able to look up the answer. Plus the writer is a CPA. He had some good advice about saving, investing, and lowering the tax bill.

I recommend this one.

The cover of this book is misleading. This is not humorous, nor is it for cat lovers--or anyone with compassionate feelings for animals of any kind. C'mere Kitty is nothing but a juvenile attempt to find animal abuse amusing. It is sad that in these times, with all signs of animal abuse and child abuse being interrelated, with crimes against animals being tried in courts, with serious criminals being connected with earlier charges of abusive behavior towards animalss, that this book would be published and sold at the level that it is. Shame on Alan Katz and the publisher of this book.

Haven't laughed this hard in AGES..........1999-02-17

This one's defintiely not for the sourpuss, or the person who thinks cats should be placed on a pedestal when the feline will gladly do it himself. However, if you have a little furball in your family that thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread (possibly farther back), just a couple of the suggestions in the book should have you owning that cat rather than vice versa.

Not for cat lovers.......1999-02-16

Does Mr. Katz have cats? I doubt it - they've probably run away. Even though the suggestions are made in fun (I hope) they are potentially harmful. In the hands of a wrong person this book may transform into a book of horrors for a good-natured friendly cat. Mr. Katz may want to ask himself if he would like to have these suggested tricks played on him by someone 6 times taller and perhaps 12 times heavier. As suggested in the last pages of this book, don't let the SPCA see you doing any of these things to your cat. My copy of this book is in the city garbage dump where it will not give anyone ideas of torture. This one would never be donated to the library.

An Evil Little Book.......1999-01-30

I wanted to get this book because I'm right in the middle of this little war with my cat(he's winning). Even though I probably wouldn't do half the things in this book(outta pure laziness), I still thought it was cute. I especially love the one where you see how many post-it notes you can put on kitty.

I don't recommend this book.......1998-12-19

I do not find the idea of tormenting cats, which is basically what the author suggests, funny, even if the cats are not physically harmed. The humor of this escapes me. Therefore, I do not recommend this book. The author gives his e-mail address in the book and I also sent him an e-mail about this.

Very disappointing. I don't think the things mentioned in this book are so generically applicable. I read it for an hour and left it, unimpressed. It gives the feeling that the author has a specific male and female individual (or bunch of individuals) in mind, and carries on with that image.

Usually the first few chapter discourage me or encourage me to continue reading, I have in fact read on. I have seen many communication problem's in everyday life; people are misunderstanding the other other people around them. Simple because they are only interested in theirself. I find this book a caluable asset to my relationships. I will be purchasing this book for my sister and brother in law. A wonderfull christmas gift for anyone in a relationship.

Helpful each day of the year........1999-02-24

I love this book. While his other books give a great overview, this one is wonderful because it is broken down into a little information each day. As I read, I am reminded of the changes I first made when I read, "Men Are From Mars..." and this book helps me to keep those changes in the forefront of my mind. I would recommend this book to everyone who enjoyed and learned from, "Men are from Mars..." and the other books in the series.

It follows much of the traditional philosophy of his other books, but the daily format provides a good forum for my wife and I to take turns reading to each other. Each day is a page or two of John's insight, wisdom and humor.

I have almost all of John Gray's books, and he conveys a tremendous amount of valuable relationship info in all of them. It's very easy to forget things that you have learned and then not remember them when you need them. Commit yourself to read the insight of the day everyday, and then share it and discuss it with your partner. Artists and fossils.......2007-02-01

Mr. Wehr has written another great book about the poets and artists that he has known. He continues where his first book leaves off. This is a collection of bits and pieces about the lives of such people as Mark Tobey, Guy Anderson, Morris Graves, and Elizabeth Bishop. He also has included in this book, more about his own life, and how he went from being a composer to a painter then to a palentologist at the Burke Museum in Seattle. He had plans to write a third book, but, unfortunately, his life was cut short when he died last year or the year before.
In this book, Mr. Wehr discusses the many fossils and stones he found beachcombing. It's a great insight into the Northwest artist community of the fifties, sixties and seventies, as well as an introduction into fossil hunting. I wonder if they are still finding fossil in Republic, Washington? I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in art or beachcombing. It will set your mind dreaming. Can I paint? Can I go to a beach and find fossil sand dollars? I hope that Mr. Wehr left notes for that third book, and that someone will publish it. I want more!

If you're looking for an upbeat, easy-to-read history of Prince Edward, look elsewhere. This is definitely NOT the book for you.

If you are looking for a book that details the life of a great leader, and digs deeply into the machinations behind the events of his times, this is definitely the book to get.

So, point of the review: Armchair historians beware! This is a deep, quite dry history of the Black Prince.
