The best little key in my library.......2003-02-22
I've been using this simple key since I was a college student in Minnesota over forty years ago. Although I now own several large comprehensive keys, this is the first key I try, even though it may not be spring and I now live in Connecticut. It will usually send me quite easily at least to a family, probably to a genus, getting me through what might be the most annoying portion of my larger keys.
Book Description
New Orleans—the Crescent City—is Latin mañana, French joie de vivre, African-American effervescence, Italian zest, and Uptown Creole pomp, all stirred with a dash of southern indolence into a savory cultural gumbo both fascinating and unique. The historic sights and rhythmic sounds, tantalizing tastes and exotic aromas of old New Orleans linger with visitors long after they have left the languid Queen City of the South.
A city of lively and varied charms, New Orleans offers a wealth of pleasures for the senses. From the historic French Quarter, with its ornate wrought-iron balconies, triple-spired St. Louis Cathedral, and elegant bistros to the ultra-modern Louisiana Superdome; from the peaceful contemplative beauty of the Ursuline Convent to the madness of Mardi Gras, with its colorful floats and zany carnival krewes; from Bourbon Street jazz to the St. Charles Avenue streetcar; from the famous above-ground cemeteries to the wildly popular buggy tour; from the feasts of St. Joseph's Altar to fabled Antoine's, Commander's Palace to the Café Du Monde; from Tulane and Loyola Universities to nearby Parlange Plantation; from the Jean Lafitte Blacksmith Shop to the Voodoo Museum to Preservation Hall; from the statue of Louis Armstrong to the monument of Robert E. Lee; from the Riverwalk shopping pavilion to riverboats moving lazily along the Mississippi as it slowly rolls on—New Orleans, A Photographic Tour, a dazzling portrait in words and pictures, perfectly captures this city's style and verve.
New Orleans: A Photographic Tour is the perfect memento for anyone who has ever visited the city, and a peerless gift for anyone who wishes to savor the Big Easy's special tang and allure.

I love this book.......2005-10-17
I have always been a fan of New Orleans, rich with culture. I was so sad to see the devasation caused by the recent hurricanes. When I was browsing the amazon site I found this book. It is a beautiful book full of pictures, some full page of the beautiful people and places there. I do not live close to New Orleans and have no idea just how widespread the damage is but I hope that the history of New Orleans can recover. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in this city which is unique and unlike any other in our country.
New Orleans Pictorial.......2000-04-06
This book delivers what it promises. I was lucky enough to take a vacation 2 years ago to New Orleans. This book has so many beautiful pictures of New Orleans. It is the best souvenir for me for each picture tells a story about New Orleans. It may be small, but so is the price . Each one of its pictures is truly worth a thousand words.

Book Description
A professional's guide to controlling risk when investing in the foreign exchange and money markets. Particular emphasis on the use of derivatives. The book offers a unique perspective combining coverage of all three areas.
Book Description
This book is written to give traders a winning edge. Winning eludes some 80 to 90 percent of people who trade.
Each year millions of dollars are spent creating and buying and selling trading systems. Hopeful traders seek the holy grail only to find that their latest acquisition doesn't work or they can't work it. Information flow is instant and vast. Computers calculate and grind out data 24 hours a day around the globe. Every conceivable edge is sought and provided. And still traders lose.
The rules for good trading are simple and understandable: Buy low, sell high, or buy high and sell higher. Sell low and buy lower. Cut your losses. Let your profits run. Never overtrade. Act promptly on signals to enter and exit. Trade a proven winning system or strategy as it was designed to be traded; i.e., take every signal and stay the course. Control and balance fear and greed.
But traders don't follow the rules, not even the rules they commit to following. As the Book of Common Prayer says, "That which I would not do, that I do." The prayer goes on to say, "And there is no health in me." It's a simple human condition which becomes quite large in trading.
The good news is that some traders do win. They win consistently over time. Success leaves clues. This book examines the clues and shows traders seeking to win how to run their own minds the way winning traders do.
It's not enough to simply know how to think or what to think. It's important to do it. This book outlines proven techniques for making the necessary mind shifts that will enable a trader to create a mental winning edge. Trading is, after all, mind over markets, quick action, clear thinking, and an unclouded intent to win.
Customer Reviews:
An okay book on trading psychology, heavily based in NLP and other basic personal development modalities.......2006-12-18
I tend to agree with the other reviewer, this book could easily be found in the self help section. When I first read it, many years ago, I thought it was great, although on revisiting it today, I think it's just okay. Several years ago few people were aware of the basic modalities in this book, today they're commonplace.
The book is very heavily based on NLP, which is not one of my favourite modalities, although it is for many people, including Tony Robbins. With few exceptions, I've found nearly all of the people (a few dozen) I've met who are heavily involved in NLP are control freaks... that's just my opinion, they seem to want to control every aspect of their life, including other people (and themselves). NLP gives them the tools to do that. I just think for some reason NLP attracts a certain personality type. That said, many of the exercises and tools in this book are based on NLP, for example, changing beliefs, setting goals, visualisation, the different kinds of questions one can ask themselves.
The book is designed to be practical, as a workbook, with exercises and no doubt you will increase your self awareness if you complete the exercises, e.g. answering questions such as what you want out of trading, discovering your beliefs, comparing them with her version of what a winning trader believes, examining the role of emotions in your trading, looking at issues of ego, gambling and addiction. The modalities used are not new or ground breaking - from NLP to 12 steps, some basic psychology, emotional awareness etc., it's just the author has combined together from various sources that she's had experience with... including Feng Shui to give the book a holistic type approach (and there's no doubt things like the trading environment you work in or what you eat does have an impact on your ability to operate effectively as well as trade effectively).
Still, I think Douglas' books on trading psychology (eg Disciplined Trader, Trading in the Zone) and Ari Kiev (Trading to Win) and Van Tharp's (Trade Your Way to financial Freedom) books are a much better starting point.
If You Are Serious About Improving Your Trading..........2003-09-03
I trade equities full-time and bought the book to help understand and resolve a tendancy to micromanage my trades. I know many successful professional traders and have met very few who are totally satisfied with their trading performance on a consistent basis. Even the best traders can use an occasional tune-up or can benefit from learning strategies to waste less energy and become more decisive and resilient.
This book was the best book on trader psychology I have come across to date, but I can understand why some people do not relate to it. First, one needs to have a strong motivation to work through the exercises and meditations; this usually means a reader needs a specific aspect of trading s/he wants to address. Next, a reader will need to be open to the possibility that his/her mind, beliefs and attitudes will play the biggest part in trading success. There are thousands of ways to make money in the markets, and anyone with normal intelligence can learn the mechanics of trading and improve his/her trading with practice, but few have the psychological balance (persistence, resilience, confidence, discipline, and humility) to succeed. This book is about taking a really close look at our needs, beliefs, and motivations and resolving the subtle issues that stand in our way. If this is of interest and motivates you to buy the book, you will find your money and time well spent.
Ok.......2003-07-29
Another psycho analysis book on trading, this one is actually applicable to non trading psychology. I especially liked the chapter on "Emotions", as many of it made sense to me and could possibly be applicable. However, the book is nothing special otherwise.
An edge, sound money management... ...and this book!.......2001-03-02
We all know the elements of successful trading. Some kind of Edge, sound Money Management principles and a disciplined, flexible Mind. The subject of trading psychology is perhaps the most neglected part of this master plan.
Van Tharp, Mark Douglas, Adrienne Toghraie and Carl-Gustav Gyllenram all have some interesting and highly educational books (and courses) dealing with this subject. However, I rank this as the best book on trading psychology I have come across.
In my work as a stock broker, I encounter winning and losing traders all the time. My experience is that most customers lose, on balance. It is an undisputed fact that losing traders have strikingly similar attributes. In general the losers remain losers because of the following facts:
1. They lack the necessary knowledge. 2. They fail to admit when they are wrong, ie they don't use stop-losses. 3. They overtrade. 4. They have no mental discipline.
This book does not provide the reader with any useful information whatsoever regarding indicators, trading systems or elaborate theories regarding the markets. Rather, it provides some highly informative, thought-provoking pages about your biggest enemy in the market... ...yourself.
I do not recommend that you read this book. Rather, I recommend that you work your way through it with an open mind. Digest it as you search your soul for those unpleasant truths about your trading, your life, and yourself.
I promise you that it will be one of the most profitable learning experiences that you will ever find...
Execute trades & trading plans successfully.......2000-02-21
The best of what's out there, and a very good book it is. This is not a book on trading systems or money management. It is a book to enable the trader to improve his/her trading. All of us suffer from emotional blockages, many unconcious. It is the result of growing up in less than perfect homes. RBR offers a step-by-step approach to finding and dealing with the blockages the interefer with YOUR trading. Caps on "your" because RBR uses a paradigmatic rather than case-specific approach. Next best book so far is Tharp's "Trade Your Way to Financial Freedom," which, while good, is a distant second. Of course, if your computer finds the trades, places the orders and exits the trades, and all you do is have the broker send you a check every month, this book is of no value to you. I haven't become that clever yet.

Fun and Beautiful.......2007-07-30
The instructions in this book are well written and clear, but what makes "Pine Needle Basketry" worth owning are the beautiful color photographs that are liberally sprinkled throughout the book. The book starts with a discussion of the required tools and materials and pretty quickly jumps into directions on how to make a simple pine needle basket. From there the author describes additional techniques such as: the different stitches used to bind the coils, adding beads and shells for embellishment, and using a gourd for the base of a basket. Next comes the "Projects" section where you are shown a photograph of a finished basket. Beneath each photo is a list of the techniques used and the pages where the technique descriptions can be found. The projects range from the first simple and functional basket to purely decorative pieces. Next comes the truly inspiring "Gallery" section. This is pure "eye candy". There is example after example of how other artists have transformed this simple craft into an art form. If you love baskets, then this is a great book to put on your shelf.
The Best Book on the subject!!.......2007-07-08
I love this book! I made pine needle baskets years (20) ago and just started back with this hobby again. I just wish Judy Mallow would write another book with more of her basket inspirations in it. It is the best book on the subject! Thanks to you Judy!!
Just Right.......2007-05-15
I've been researching the various literature available for creating a pine needle basket. Most lack something...but this book has it all. It clearly shows you the process, the tools that help make the baskets, and some beautiful color photos of finished products. Judy Mallow comes from a family of basket weavers, and she intutively creates the perfect form. Anyone looking for a great started book, or ideas for future creations would enjoy this book.
Great resource.......2007-02-06
Trying to learn to do pine needle baskets, with very little knowledgeable help available, this book has proved invaluable! The instruction is very good, and the color photos are fabulous for being able to see detail. It covers areas (such as dying the needles) that the few other books out there, don't even mention. I've started a small group of women to learn this old craft and my copy of this book is the most popular amoung them.
Pine Needle Basketry:From Forest Floor to Finished Project.......2007-01-23
I have thoroughly enjoyed this book. Judy's instructions and illustrations are very simple to follow. I am teaching a basket class and am recommending all the students purchase her book, since I have learned most of my techniques from her instructions.

A truly astounding work!.......2006-03-20
If you can only get one book on roses, this is the one you want. The photography is the absolute best I've seen anywhere, and you will learn more about some of these roses by looking carefully at the photographs than you will be any other method except owning them. It was this book which got me really interested in growing and hybridizing old roses. An inspiring work!
Just have to have it.......2002-12-01
The pictures are exquisite. This book should be on every rose aficionado's wish list. Looking at the beautiful photographs one would want to own each and every rose that is featured.
Customer Reviews:
Diabetic Must have!.......2003-08-21
I am a type 1 and I LOVE this book. Wouldn't be much use if you count exchanges instead of carbs. So if you count exchanges try this: switch doctors, THEN buy the book. Also, I think that if you have a palm there is software you can order too.
A Must for Travelling Dieters.......2003-08-01
My husband and I are counting calories, and we bought this book to take on vacation. Using it - we were able to enjoy food and not gain back the weight we have worked so hard to lose - I think it is the most comprehensive aid to dieters on the market.
Very useful tool.......2003-06-02
If this book doesn't list it, you probably wouldn't eat it anyway. A "must have" if you're checking carbs or counting calories on your own. If you are on an exchanges or points plan, you probably wouldn't need this book though. 5 stars because it delivers everything it claims, and then some.
A Very Helpful Tool !!!.......2003-05-28
I bought this book because my original calorie counter was completely lacking many restaurants and was very disorganized. This calorie counter has easy to find sections, a very comprehensive restaurant section, and it is easy to carry in a purse. I have been trying to lose weight for so long and after two months of just watching my calorie intake, keeping a food journal, and a little exercise, I have lost 20lbs. This book is a very helpful tool if you are trying to lose weight, and become a healthier person.
Convenient & packed with info.......2003-05-01
The amount of information this compact (4.5"x6") book contains is INCREDIBLE! My doctor recommended it to me for keeping track of fats & carbs, so I have this info for hundreds of restaurant dishes, and every market-brand and general type of food I can think of, right at hand. (I'll never eat an Onion Blossom appetizer again!) Doc is happy and I'm losing weight. The first 20 pages present nutrition & diet info, and the back section has guides for sodium, caffeine, alcohol, cholesterol, high BP, etc., so I appreciate that it's not strictly data reference. Hard to believe that such a comprehensive book like this is only $ -- not that I'm complaining!
