Not worth buying new!.......2003-01-20
This book is:v poorly printed; has almost unreadable charts; and only one good idea worth paying for.
Buy it used or skip it.
The quality of the printing is either an embarrassment or an insult. If you have "unresolved issues" you may want to pay full price for this very skinny volume; be my guest.
Book Description
The Working Papers contain columnar paper for each Problem and Comprehensive Problem in the text. Problem headings and "given" data already are filled in.

Being a teacher, I find this book is very useful for beiggners as well as for teachers. Basically, In my opinion, accounting can never be understood without concept and principles. This book satisfies all the basic requirements of learners. This book is written in simple and useful business enviornment. It depicts all the concepts and attracts it`s users. The accounting treatments are stated in a simple way. One should can easily understand the basic purpose of financial and manegerial accounting. Really this book is remarkable!! I found this book is very useful. I have not words in my mind to describe it`s actual utility. But one thing is that there is a lack of problems in few chapters, if that could also be included then I am assure that the major problem of practice should be solved. This book described in a simple way, How the accounting performs as the "Language of Business".
Excellence of Accounting Education.......2000-01-18
I find this is one of best textbooks available in the market. I love reading it very much.

A good small book.......1999-01-12
This is a good book that has articles about the most popular tropical fish. It tells about some strategy of breeding different fish. It is a small book with plenty of information for the beggining tropical fish hobbyist.
Book Description
Beginners can start with a simple trace design. Switch from round to square wire, adapt the chain to a pendant, or use small oval links for a sophisticated look. Transform trace chains into flat-lying curb chains by twisting each link. Or, try distinctively round loop-in-loop pieces. This range of chains really sparkles and shines. “Highly recommended.”—Library Journal.
Customer Reviews:
Advanced chain making book.......2007-08-13
This book is good if you don't mind soldering rings. I do not like soldering, so I did not find the book very useful. The techniques are not simple, but they are beautiful.
Great Book but...........2007-01-09
I love to make chains and I have been in this hobby during the last year, it is a hobby that requires accuracy and patience...a lot of patience. In my particular case I like to see the results of my work in a reasonable period of time. All the chains in this book are very beautiful, as well as the photos, the instructions are ok too but all the chains are soldered, that means that each ring has to be soldered, it can take 20 or more hours to have one chain finished, depending on how skillfull you are soldering. If you have enough time and are very good in soldering this book is perfect for you. That was not my case.
What I was looking for!.......2006-04-13
Just the type of diagrams and instructions I've been looking for, clear and easy to follow! Thank you Glen Waszek. This is a must if you are just getting into chains.
Beginning Metalworker Must-Have.......2003-08-12
This is an excellent book for a novice to intermediate metalworker. The instructions, diagrams, and photographs are very clear and are presented in a logical order. First, Mr. Waszek walks you through descriptions for tools and materials. Next, he explains the basics of working silver. Don't be intimidated by the processes of annealing, pickling, and soldering! The step-by-step instructions and tips make it easy. Instructions for professional finishing are provided, so your chains will be smooth and elegant. Once the basics have been introduced, you're ready for the projects. You'll learn to make trace chains, curb chains, circular link chains, loop-in-loop chains, and fancy links, plus you'll learn how to make your own findings to fasten your chains.
Granted, you will put a lot of time and effort into making a handcrafted chain, but many of these designs are not commercially available or not available in your choice of weight and thickness. Although the book is about silver chains, you can apply these skills and techniques to other metals. Even if you already have some experience making chains, this is a great book for reviewing finishing techniques and refreshing your memory for designs. Everything is easy to locate, with step-by-step instructions for all tasks.
Valuable resource for chainmakers.......2001-06-07
One of the few books devoted just to chainmaking, Glen Waszek's book is a wonderful instructional and reference book. Detailed instructions with clear photographs and diagrams are given for a large number of both classic and unusual chains. The opening chapters on tools and techniques are clear, concise, and well presented. While I found this book somewhat intimidating as a beginner (most of the chains are soldered), it is truly a valuable resource for intermediate and advanced level chainmakers as well. Mr. Waszek offers continued challanges and inspiration to all levels of serious chain crafters. Two thumbs up!!

Customer Reviews:
Inspiring, insightful book.......2001-11-27
If you have the "instinct" for working with children who have emotional and behavioral difficulties, this book is for you!! In the format of an experienced E/BD teacher's "thought journal," its short anecdotes touch your heart and remind you that even though sometimes your best is not enough, it's all that you can give these tough kids. I, too, keep this book within easy reach and give it to all my friends, student teachers and aides. (Additional suggestion: I also have been known to give it to those folks who don't "get it" in an attempt to bring out that empathy gene -- works well with administrators and grumpy regular ed teachers.) GREAT BOOK!!!
I am a brand new Behavior Disorders Teacher!!!!!.......2001-03-05
This book has brought me peace within the first part of my journey of educating emotionally disturbed teenagers. I am grateful to have purchased this book and read it every night before I go to bed. There are many things the author says that are just "food for thought". I find that these 'morsels' really apply in terms of dealing with my students. I recommend this book to ALL teachers, both new and veteran who work with emotionally disturbed children.
Insightful reading on a difficult subject.......2000-09-14
This is a book that is easy to read but has a lot of helpful information on a difficult subject. There aren't a lot of "answers" in this book but it gave me a lot of food for thought in dealing with difficult children.
Silly and not very useful.......2000-06-27
I'm amazed such a serious subject is given this cutesy treatment, but then, this is just the sort of book educators love to write. Nothing really practical here, just sweet little anecdotes about kids who fight over the swingset at recess and inner musings of the author on how much he "admires" the passion of abused children. The format is about one paragraph per page, so if you're looking for detailed instruction and explanation, this book ain't it (it's also a shameful waste of paper). A nice book for those who want to keep the subject clean and simple, but not recommended for those who desire real information or understanding. Silly and slightly insulting.
Excellent for All Teachers.......1999-12-01
This is an excellent book to have at your desk. I give a copy to every student teacher I supervise once they've completed their training with us. It's anecdotal format makes it easy to refresh yourself quickly and the information is useful for kids grades k-12. I highly recommend this book. It's the best $16.00 I've spent!

Book Description
Liz Renay was born into small-town life in Mesa, Arizona to a family of religious zealots. Then WW II came and she became a "V-girl," attracting servicemen with her beautiful face and voluptuous figure. Thus began her entry into the world of New York high fashion models and Fifty-Second Street strippers. Fate led her into the underworld, where she became a confidante and girlfriend to important mobsters and shady dealers.
From New York she went to Hollywood, where she won a Marilyn Monroe look-alike contest and became a national celebrity; meanwhile her paintings were selling for $5,000 each and her poetry was recorded and broadcast. Then came an indictment and three-year probation for her unwillingness to cooperate with authorities by testifying against the mobster Mickey Cohen. A violation of her probation landed her in prison for three years. Married eight times, appeared before thirteen grand juries, with more lovers than any swinger of her generation-Liz Renay tells the story of her compelling and memorable adventures with honesty and candor.

God receive you Liz All My Love Henry Joseph Rychlicki Author of Fragments of My Life A Sex Fiction...xxo0x0oxo0
Keep Talkin, Liz!.......2003-05-12
If you "get" Liz Renay, get this book. it's hysterical! She's like a cross between Marilyn Monroe and Penelope Pitstop! Danger seems to lurk around every corner for Ms Renay in her search for stardom--and if it isn't getting her, it's getting her kids! They fall out of second story windows, get attacked attempting to visit her in prison, and even end up stripping with her. Through all her trashy tales though, Liz manages to emerge as a lovable eccentric: a warm-hearted optimist, which saves 'My Face..." from ever becoming the maudlin "could-have-been" saga that it might have been. On a par with Mamie Van Doren, only more entertaining, Liz's quirky narrative entertains from start to pulpy finish. Oddly inspiring!
Where's The Movie or Mini-Series?!.......2002-05-12
It's clear that despite all the mistakes and unfortunate circumstances of Liz Renay, she is clearly one of the happiest people alive. The camp value is definitely there and your hooked after the first paragraph - read between the lines and you'll connect with a woman who's happiness has been put to the test. Her belief in loving herself and to love others (as simple as it is) is an emotional level few people in life actually reach. Have fun reading this book - I sure did. Now, if only John Waters will make a movie version!!!
My Face For The World To See.......2000-03-25
This book is very entertaining, and it's a shame that it's out of print. Liz, who is best known as a star of one of John Water's films (DESPERATE LIVING), was a woman with a lot of chutzpah and cujones. She was independent before being so was acceptable. She lived life her way, without regrets, and this book tells it in unadulterated detail.
My Face For The World To See.......2000-01-09
I read this book about 20 years ago and have never forgotten it. I believe it speaks to all women who try to live up to others expectations. I would recommend this highly.

Self-invention, or rather, reinvention is at the heart of much gay culture. Being told that you should not be who you are encourages you to become someone else. But few gay men have self-invented with the panache and grandiloquence of James Lawrence Slatterly, who metamorphosed into the fabulous Andy Warhol superstar Candy Darling. Taking his/her cues from Lana Turner, Kim Novak, and Gloria Graham, Candy Darling became a walking testament to Hollywood womanhood. Although she appeared in several Warhol films before her early death in 1974, Candy Darling didn't need theatrical vehicles: she lived her life as a star. My Face for the World to See is a collection of her diaries, drawings, and thoughts. While there is nothing profound, the book is a moving record of a life and imagination that illuminated the cultural landscape and burned brightly and too short.
Customer Reviews:
Pure Genius.......2007-03-08
A great book - beautifully realized project on the diaries of Candy Darling, Warhol Superstar, famously immortalized by Peter Hujar in an image which was later used by the sublimely talented Antony Hegarty for the cover of his bands' (Antony and The Johnsons)CD; "I am a bird now" .
This book is a touching read and insight into Candy's mind.
"I can get very Joan Crawford about the whole thing.".......2005-06-20
Candy Darling was born James Lawrence Slattery in November 1944, and then re-emerged as Candy Darling some years later. During Candy's short exotic life, she gained fame as one of the stars from Andy Warhol's Factory. She starred in a number of films, including "Flesh" and "Women in Revolt" but died of Leukemia before the age of 30. The book "My Face for the World to See: The Diaries, Letters and Drawings of Candy Darling, Andy Warhol Superstar" is a collection of Candy's writing--and the content ranges from recipes, quotes, make up tips, lists, journal entries, and letters. The letters contain the essence of Candy's image: "I have always been a goddess above it all untouchable." And through many of Candy's statements, a glimpse of a certain unhappiness and loneliness can be seen. I loved Holly Woodlawn's memoir "A Low Life in High Heels", and I'd hoped that the book would yield a similar experience. Unfortunately the content here is a little thin. A few photographs and photographs accompany the text. What a shame that Candy Darling didn't leave a fabulous memoir for her fans--displacedhuman
great package.......2003-06-01
I was so impressed just by Darling's little pink-diary-with-a-lock-and-key packaging that, in itself, it may be enough to buy the book just to enhance the look of your bookshelf. Otherwise....Not much inside. Most memorable is a photocopy of a diary page of Darling describing what it's like to have once been known and then forgotten...or worse. The book has pages that make you regret you must hesitate for a moment before flipping to the next.
Kiss them for me...I may be Delayed.......2000-09-09
" It Glittered and it gleamed, for the arriving beauty queen" The words once sang by Siouxsie Sioux, describes the spiritual search for the ghost of Jane Mansfield. I guess the words itself in the title could have been uttered by Candy as she applied her favourite colour of lipstick by Revlon...Fire and Ice. While not an autobiography by any means, these are her words plain and simple. Little Jimmy from Long Island, grew up to be one of the Warhol "Girlettes" as she tried to emulate her favourite star, Lana Turner. The book is filled with basic odds and ends from little journals and scrap pieces of paper thrown together to cash in on the success of " I Shot Andy Warhol ". She considered herself a great actress and wanted forever to get the flaw between her legs taken off, but instead from illegal hormones died of cancer. Sadly, this is basically the only book out there that is a companion piece to " A Low Life in High Heels " By Holly Woodlawn, he fellow transgendered actor friend, rival, and sometimes, an enemy. Don't look for any special secrets (other than what it is a woman should where when going out, and a horrid recipe for a salad,
) about her life or anything, but random bitchy words and poems from someone who is lost to us forever except for two films and a photos taken by some of the best fashion photographers.
Somebody I always wanted to know more about.........1999-04-27
I've been interested in Candy ever since I saw her in "I Shot Andy Warhol" (played by Steven Dorff) I decided to buy this book because I have an interest in all things related to Andy, the Factory, and the entourage. It's very interesting- the entries are Candy's own handwriting, some of them go back to when she was in middle school. There are even pictures she drew herself. There are some nice photos too- even one in the front of her and Andy. Candy's writing is also very heartfelt- you can tell she desperately wanted to be something she wasn't. My favorite passage in the whole book is "You must be true to yourself no matter what the cost, it is the highest form of morality." My only complaint is that it should have gotten under the surface and told more about her life. But overall, I think Mr. Newton did a wonderful job. You feel like you get to know Candy throught this book, it even looks like it could have been her diary- it has a lock and key and everything. It's a good book for those who are interested in Candy, or things that went on in the Factory.

Book Description
The writer and recipient of these engaging letters, Alexander Chisholm Gooden (born 1817), went up to Trinity College, Cambridge in 1836, having previously been educated at the University of London. A glittering academic career beckoned; he was top of the Classical Tripos in 1840, and in the following year went to Germany to read for a Trinity fellowship, but died tragically early from peritonitis after rowing on the Rhine. The 169 letters between Gooden and his family and friends collected in this volume constitute a rich and hitherto unknown source for student life in Cambridge in the 1830s. They cover a wide range of topics: friendships, local politics, accommodation, clothing and bills, the personalities and vagaries of dons, and Gooden's health. They also give a detailed picture of his career as a student of classics and mathematics, and, after his examination success in 1840, as a private tutor to undergraduates. The differences between Cambridge and London styles of scholarship caused difficulties for Gooden; they offer the reader an unusual and interesting light on his struggle to succeed at Trinity. JONATHAN SMITH is Archivist at Trinity College Library, Cambridge; CHRISTOPHER STRAY is Honorary Research Fellow at the Department of Classics, University of Wales, Swansea
