Book Description
This highly illustrated monograph provides a comprehensive study of the structure and function of proteins, nucleic acids and viruses using synchrotron radiation and crystallography. Synchrotron radiation is intense, polychromatic and finely collimated, and is highly effective for probing the structure of macromolecules. This is a fast-expanding field, and this timely monograph gives a complete introduction to the technique and its uses. Beginning with chapters on the fundamentals of macromolecular crystallography and macromolecular structure, the book goes on to review the sources and properties of synchrotron radiation, instrumentation and data collection. There are chapters on the Laue method, on diffuse X-ray scattering and on variable wavelength dispersion methods. The book concludes with a description and survey of applications including studies at high resolution, the use of small crystals, the study of large unit cells, and time-resolved crystallography (particularly of enzymes). Appendices are provided which present essential information for the synchrotron user as well as information about synchrotron facilities currently available. A detailed bibliography and reference section completes the volume. Many tables, diagrams and photographs are included.

Granville's New Strategy of Daily Stock Market Timing for Maximum Profit

This book you can still find in the library and its worth a read first and understand it. I still use the OBV to trade stocks even today as an indicator to look at when I trade. Its a stock indicator used almost in every charting software today.
This was a Technical breakthrough in the 1960's and his newsletter was hot in those days and could move markets.
Joseph E. Granville has now a great book out there called "How to Read the Stock Market" (The Granville Commentaries). You can do a search on Googles and try to find his website since amazon does not have it listed. You can too time the market if you work at it after reading through this book. It may not be available soon and hard to find!
This book you can learn a lot from a trader who has been trading over 40 years. Learn from a veteran trader then you won't make the same mistakes in your future.
Stock market longterm prediction are very hard to forecast. I try to look from anywhere from 1 day to 2 weeks and that all I really need to know when I trade short-term stocks.
I checked out the 1960 vers from the library and it's nice.......2002-10-28
The book smells like 40 year old books do. Inside are a lot of nuances that the non-novice could appreciate. Granvile was a market master for a time and then fell from glory (FYI) like most do. He still has some good insight and the pros might appreciate that here.

I have had the oportunity to meet Ms Anderson and would buy and use her things any time. I had to add this to my collection of quilt books. Someday I will try hand quilting and I'll go to this book right away.

Excellant instruction on hand quilting........1999-01-09
This is probably the best book I have found that gives instruction for hand quilting. The color pictures give very explicit instruction for both right and left handed people. I would recommend this to anyone interested in hand quilting, whether a beginner or a long time quilter. Alex Anderson is one of the best teachers and supporters of quilting. She does an excellant job with her program " Simply Quilts". I would recommend all her books.

This book is the best. It's affordable and comes with color pictures that show me each step for quilting. It even has left handed and right handed instructions. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn how to hand-quilt.

EXCELLENT General Herbal Introduction.......2000-12-26
I bought this book and had no idea that it would be such a fantastic reference guide for my studies in Herbalism. At this time I am studying to be an Herbalist and I have some materials such as texts and videos. However, none of them have colour pictures of the plants themselves,(this makes identification MUCH easier). From general history to detailed constituents, this book has it all. Ther are many recipes and ideas for health and beauty as well as dyes and remedies. Although this book is twenty years old, the general information is excellent for the interested novice and expert alike!

A superb reference.......2001-06-24
I have owned and used my Encyclopedia of Herbs and Herbalism since 1990 and have never failed to find a desired reference. Malcolm Stuart provides a comprehensive, yet enjoyable and interesting publication, featurig 350 photographs and 190 drawings and diagrams. Herbs are cross referenced by their botanical and common names, growing instructions and common uses are delineated. Rounding off this thoroughly enlightining experience are recipes, a comprehensive history of herb and herb gardens, and a medicinal reference section. I have not found anything better yet.

Where are the men?.......2006-02-17
This book was used as a textbook for a sociology of family class.
One interesting observation is that there is an odd absence of studies and articles concerning men. I am not sure if this is because of the body of research out there or because this particular author chose to disregard those studies. Overall, nice balance of pro- and anti-traditional family input.

I Can't Even Draw A Straight Line by B.J. Carson is more than just a delightful book about the vagabond life of a professional artist. This semi-biographical journey from creative childhood to professional career also speaks to non-artists on what it takes to create a successful life. It is an inspirational book about determination, overcoming obstacles and choosing one's own fate.
