Fly Fast... Sin Boldly - Autobiography of the Son of Bill Lear.......2007-01-25
Normally Bill Lear Jr. is described in books about his famous father THE Bill Lear (Learjet) as somewhat a playboy who crashed a lot of planes. Perhaps this is the curse of having a famous father? Bill Lear Jr. has his own say here and comes across a bit of an a@#hole but he did fly a lot of high-performance aircraft, starting from an early age. His experiences doing the early air shows and air races are worth reading about. It was a different time when business deals were a bit loose and so I will give Bill Jr. the benefit of the doubt. Even his military experience is notable. Later in his career he seems to have become a successful aircraft and avionics salesman. Like his father, he had problems/opportunities with women and I lost count after wife #3. I find it a bit strange that he writes very little of his relationships with his children. All in all, a good read about a pilot with opportunity and balls.
Fly Fast Sin Boldly.......2004-03-05
A friend loaned me the book. Having been in the aviation field all my life I found the book to be very entertaining. If you are merely an aviation Buff or involved, like I am, you will relate to much of the story. It's a fast read with hilarious anecdotes.
A Very Intertaining Book By a Fascinating Writer.......2004-03-04
Owning and flying a WW II P-38 Lightning at age 17 is just one of the many episodes of his life that Bill Lear vividly brings back to life in this autobiography of his life. His knowledge of all aspects of aviation, his insight into life and relationships, combined with his great sense of humor, make this a book that is hard to put down once you start reading it. The only thing better than reading about his experiences is to hear him tell about some of them in person and I feel fortunate to have been able to experience that.
Non aviation enthusiasts will enjoy this book as well as aviation enthusiasts. It is a great gift idea and everyone of our friends who have read it have enjoyed it.
Living History.......2004-03-03
A book that once you pick up you can't put down. A wonderful insight into Aviation and the adventures of a truly remarkable man.
A cool book, written from a cool guy !!!.......2004-03-03
A great book from one of the coolest guys I know!!
It is a "must" for anybody, who has something to do with aviation.
I would appreciate it, when this book will be continues published.

Addiction workbook:A step-by-step guide............2007-01-10
Bought it for my grown son...along with AA, prof. treatment, the workbook has been a good support for him.
Quick 101 education.......2006-08-21
This book has the basis information a person needs to quit their addiction. Is the same basic principles that rehabilitation programs used. Except that in the rehab you have a team a people that help you and the AA/NA meetings are all day.
Turning away from alcohol and/or drugs.......2005-08-26
The workbook allows one to view his/her compulsion to drink and/or use drugs from multiple perspectives, to better realize the consequences and to make a reasoned choice about whether or not to embrace sobriety. It then gently guides one into early recovery, giving tips and support for making important changes in life so as not to return to alcohol and/or drugs. Fanning writes in short, clear sentences so that the book is very easy to understand, and shows great compassion for those who are burdened by the terrible compulsion that is addiction.

Customer Reviews:
Excellent resource!.......2004-04-26
I got this cookbook shortly after it came out, as I was just becomming really interested in cooking. It has quickly become the bible of my kitchen. The recipes are easy to follow (and not to mention delicious!) with excellent pictures. It also offers detailed descriptions of various kinds of meats, grains, pastas, fruits, vegetables, etc. It has a very extensive variety of dishes to choose from... They say you can't please everyone, all the time, but this book will sure come close! I would highly recommend this book to any cook from beginner to advanced gourmet.
if you're going to own one cookbook - this is it.......2003-10-21
my mother-in-law bought me this cookbook and i've been using it every week since then. out of all the cooking books i own, this is the one i come back to time and time again. this book is a great resource for anything you would ever want to cook. the recipes are fantastic, most importantly - delicious - and are all very easy. there's a photo for almost each recipe, so if you're like me and you like to see a photo to picture the dish, this is the book for you. i highly recommend this book as the first and only cookbook you may ever need.
LOVED THIS BOOK.......2003-08-01
Was impressed by the quality of recipes in this book. This is a nice gift for someone just starting out, as well as seasoned cooks. Can't have too many books for sure.
Good things haven't changed over the years.......2003-07-06
While I was growing up, I loved helping my mom cook. I used to read through her cookbooks, looking at pictures and dreaming of one day being able to cook things like those pictures. My favorite cookbook was her Good Housekeeping cookbook. Now, 23 years later, I'm out on my own. I was at my mom-in-law's house, and I noticed she had a copy of this new GH cookbook. She bought an extra copy for me.
I absolutely love my All New Good Housekeeping Cook Book. The recipes are very diverse. I love the hints from the professionals, scattered throughout the book. Most of all, I love that GH kept the pictures in and kept fairly simple recipes in. If you know the Good Housekeeping name, you'd definitely know that this a top-notch cookbook!
Bought by mistake.......2003-01-03
As part of a bookclub, I forgot to inform them that I did not want this selection, so they sent it. That was three years ago and I never really looked at the book until this past thanksgiving. Since them I've used it frequently and it's amazing!! I first tried the after thanksgiving turkey soup, it was great, I then tried scalloped potatoes (which I'd usually failed at before), and they were good, then I tried the simple pasta with peas, and again very good. As I've looked through the other recipes, there are so many I've marked to be tested. I'm glad I got this book by mistake....and hate that it took so long for me to give it a try.
I highly recommend this book!!

Wow!.......2007-05-25
I can't believe hnow much gree stuff there is out there. It's great to have this at my fingertips. This coupled with "Baby Bargains" by Denise and Alan Fields make the perfect bargain mom kit.
how to make money off parents- by sue m. hannah.......2006-11-08
this book makes me sick, by purchasing this book you are paying for the advertising of advertising.the author should be ashamed of herself. most of the book is full of offers for free diaper rash cream, formula or catalogs [FREE CATALOGS!!!! does anyone know of a catalog that you have to pay for]. Some links are dead and most of the information can be obtained anyone who can use a search engine and spell (or use google to spell for you). if you are thinking of buying this book don't.
It's good if you have never used the Internet before!.......2006-09-24
If you are even slightly net-savvy, you will know about most of the sites and deals mentioned in the book. I think every parent to be can figure out the websites for pampers, huggies, gerber etc etc. Most of the so-called "free" stuff is useless anyway eg. when she says free maternity clothes, what she REALLY means is you can write to a manufacturer for a free CATALOG for the clothes. The wording is very misleading. I think the only person who will end up getting free stuff for baby is the author, with all the people she is ripping off with this book,
What a Time-Saver!!.......2005-12-01
There are all kinds of offers available online, and through magazines, Sue M. Hannah has compiled all of these offers in one easy place. The book has saved me countless hours of searching for these offers, and as new parents know, babies don't give you a lot of free time. Thanks Sue!!

Book Description
First published in 1944, Enemy Coast Ahead combines Gibson’s RAF career, including the famous Dambuster raid which he himself led, with the inside story of life in Bomber Command and is still a riveting read for the immediacy and vibrancy of its writing. Now, for the first time in paperback, Crecy Publishing has published Gibson’s original manuscript which was archived for almost 60 years. This uncut edition provides not only details of Gibson’s career, but also reveals his true view of the course of the war, of the wartime population, of his pilots and crews and of Bomber Command tactics. Combined with photographs and diagrams Enemy Coast Ahead – Uncensored remains one of the outstanding accounts of WWII seen through the eyes of one of its most respected and controversial personalities, but now allows the reader to know Gibson’s own story in his own words.

DAMBUSTERS RAID (Cassell Military Paperbacks)
ASIN: 0907579620 |
Book Description
First published in 1944, Guy Gibson's Enemy Coast Ahead quickly became regarded as the classic Bomber Command book, following Gibson's RAF career from flying the Hampden and Manchester at the beginning of WWII to the triumphant return home of the Lancasters from the famous 1943 Dambuster raid which Gibson led and for which he was awarded the Victoria Cross. Enemy Coast Ahead is also the inside story of life in Bomber Command throughout the first five years of WW2, culminating in breath-holding drama as the RAF planned, practiced and strove towards breaching the dams on that famous night in May 1943.
Customer Reviews:
Great read.......2005-11-29
One of the best WWII memoirs I have ever read, this coming from a reader who does not like"Flying Stories". If an old friend had returned this book I'd have read it more than once.
An inside view of the RAF bomber pilots.......2000-05-29
I first read it when I was at the military aviation school in Venezuela and I was fascinated. It is very well written and you actually feel the intimacies of the bomber pilot. I recommend it to everyone who is interested in WWII history.
A first class story of special ops bombers in the RAF.......1997-07-11
This story of 617 Squadron's Dams raid in WWII was
written by the original leader, who won the VC for
his leadership , skill, and bravery in battle. You
won't put down this insider's look into the plan
and attack on the dams, at night, using custom
rotating/ bouncing bombs at 60 feet in the fog !!
Also read The Dam Busters, on the same
squadron, continuing the story to the end of the
war, with even more harrowing ops to follow, including
the great raids , and final sinking, of the Tirpitz.

A great biography.......2000-07-06
I just read this book and I can only be grateful to the author. I first met Gibson's life history when I was trying to become a member of my country's air force, which I didnt do. Nevertheless, I bought a copy of Enemy Coast Ahead which has been with me for nearly 40 years. I became interested on his life, but there was no available information. This book filled the gap and I believe it is a great book. I have nothing further to say!.
A fair book, nothing more.......1999-07-12
MRs. Susasn has written a readable book, but in a naive language, spending much time talking about Gibson personal problems and little about his combat days. There is no sensation that the reader can understand the real hazards of flying night bombing over occupied Europe in WW2.

Book Description
Few men have a better claim to be called a legend in his own lifetime than Guy Gibson. Leader of the famous Dambuster Raid of May, 1943 which became part of the popular folklore of the Second World War after the film in which Richard Todd took the part of the hero, he himself was tragically in an air crash in 1944. Born in India in 1918 and brought up in England, Guy Gibson joined the RAF in November, 1936. Thereafter his career can be seen as a battle between, on the one hand, his uncertain temperament and less than ideal private life, and, on the other, his undoubted skills as an airman and as a leader of men. The war was to bring him adventure and, later, fame. He took part in the first aerial attack of the war, on the Kiel Canal; he served in Fighter Command and then, in 1943, came the famous raid on the Mohne and Eder dams for which he was awarded the VC. By now a hero of international fame, he was sent on a Public Relations tour of North America, but basically he was a flyer and, refusing to remain grounded, he died an airmen's death.
