This train of thought is not far from how I was raised but todays world is so easy to get sucked into fast foods, even in my own cooking. My child's behavior was dramatically improved by eliminating the sugar and trans fats. In the long run, of all the things we tried this absolutely had the best response. But it is truly the hardest to be compliant to.

My son has ADHD and we have struggled for years with every type of medication the doctors pushed at us. My son did not do well on any of the medications that we trialed. He became someone else, lost in his own mind. He became very agressive, alienated, depressed,not able to gain weight or sleep. I made the decision that I wanted to try something different than the medications that made my child foreign to me. Thank god that one of my friends had started seeing Dr. Bob and told me about this book. I was very skeptical at first. I remember thinking to my self that there was no way this was going to work by food modification and vitamins. A few weeks after we started the modifications to the diet I started noticing little changes. About 3 months into it I could not believe that I had my child back. He was happy again, wanting to play outside and with his friends. He could concentrate at school and was not angry or defiant anymore.He had put on about 8 pounds. Best of all he was off the medication and his body was health again.

I am so thankful that I discovered this book one and a half months ago. My 6 year old little boy has always been hyper and was having an increasingly difficult time at school. His teacher knew that we did not want to medicate him and had been trying to use behavioral charts and reward to encourage him. He was suppose to receive 4 stars a day for sitting still and listening quietly. Day after day he came home with either one or no stars. At this point I found this book. We always ate fairly healthy...but I began using more organic products. I gave him an excellent natural vitamin, magnesium and began giving him flax oil each day. Dr. Bob wrote that Omega3 has a half life of 18 days and therefore effects should be seen in that time period. Amazingly...this happened...after three weeks of flax oil...my son began receiving 4 stars...we have now had three weeks of consistent 4 star days. He is so proud and we are just amazed. Every time I go into school I now hear something positive about my little guy...he is still high energy...but it is a different level...he can control it now, and calm down when he is told and even monitor himself and behave in the way that he knows is appropriate. I just need to say thank-you Dr. Bob...your book has really changed the life of our son and our whole family!

Dr. Bob's Guide to Stop ADHD in 18 Days is a terrific resource, not only for families of children w/ADHD, but for anyone wanting to improve their lifestyle naturally. Although it is geared towards treating the child with ADHD, it will overall improve the entire family's health, as it provides a wealth of great nutritional information! The man made plain, simple good food. The book is a reflection of the type of cooking we saw on his shows. His roots were Cajun, but he was not afraid to experiment and make a dish his own. If you are looking for traditional Cajun recipes, this is not the place to start, but it is a great source for some good eatin'.

Interesting recipes..........2005-07-15

I don't think any of justin wilson's books are essential for would be cajun chefs. His books are fun and this book has some nice recipes.

Wilson's version of cajun cooking is different from what you see on most books in the genre. I know i own more than a dozen books on cajun or creole cuisine and only wilson makes constant use of bitters, worchester sauce and sauterne wine. Those three ingredients seems to find their way into almost every savory recipe in this book even though you will see little off them in the exellent "cajun cuisine" book or paul prudommes seminal book the finest on the subject. Wilson was the first to admit he was no chef just a damn good cook and these three ingredinats provide the flavor backbone for most of his dishes.

Of course you see this in his shows with the hot sauce ever ready and always with the lea and perrins and the big bottle of wine. That's how he approaches cajun food and most of the time the result is quite good. This is a man who became famous first for his humours stories and then he worked the cooking in.
As far as i know he has never owned a restaurant in which his food would stand the ultimate test. It is not essential as prudomme's book is but it is a fun addition to any collection.

One nice segment of the book is the one on leftovers. The turkey hash is superb and the ham souffle. He has an idea for cold leftover mac n cheese that i did not try. You take cold mac n cheese and pour mayo over it with some paprika. Other highlights are the turnip casserole and the "i don't know chicken". Funny but also quite good.

... is exactly what this book is worth. This was poorly written, poorly put together, and in generally bad taste. The recipes are plain recipes that anyone with a Better Homes and Gardens cookbooks can put together. The Cajun stories are dumb. They are NOT funny. Justin Wilson and his publishers should be ashamed for pushing this out onto the American cooking public.

"Draw 50 Sharks..." is an excellent book for children and adults interested in marine life, and at the same time wish to appreciate art. I found the step-by-step sketch examples non-intimidating as some drawing books present themselves. Children will find this book useful as a template for drawing sea creatures, and can improvise from them. The book is a "must-read" for children. Teachers should incorporate this book into their curriculum as a way to spark creativity in children.

My daughter gave me this book along with paper and a tool. I normally work 10-12 hours a day writing instruction manuals and piddle in crafts as a hobby on weekends. Well let me tell you that this book has taken over my life and I am de-stressed for the first time this year. This is a very fun, easy craft and is inexpensive too. I am addicted and stay up late into the night rolling paper. After a week I have made a beautiful flower card to thank my daugher for giving me this book. She met the Ms. Christenson at a meeting this year and told me I would love this craft. Buy this book and add fun to your life. It will be worth it. - JoJo

'New' Quilling Book is Inspiring.......2006-06-08

I bought this book basically to find out the technique to make the beautiful bows on the boxes.

The author's work is very professional and the projects are lovely. They are different, with use of other materials besides paper incorporated into her designs. Embellishing an altered booktag with metal-shaped letters, dry-embossing paper before curling and using chalk to highlight finished elements. These give her creations a look distinctive from other quilling books and require different techniques to complete. In particular painting strips of paper as in the framed bold initials.

I especially like the framed evening dresses using only tendrils (glue is not necessary after shaping), but my taste for a classic quilled look with more traditional designs, leads me to try the candy toppers next. I would have preferred to see more ideas for cards, but this is just a niggle in what I believe is a very inspiring quilling book with a fresh new look.

The Best Quilling Book - A Scrapbooker's Dream!.......2006-05-14

The New Paper Quilling book by Molly Smith Christensen was recommended to me by several of my scrapbooking friends. I've been scrapbooking for years now and have never quilled before getting this book, but now I am a scrapbooker *and* a quiller thanks to this wonderfully creative book! It's so easy and fun to learn, too!

First of all, the author begins by listing a Basic Quilling Tool Kit that you'll need in order to learn to quill. She describes in detail each tool in the basic kit, possible substitutions, and where to find the supplies. (I was able to find all of the supplies at my favorite craft store.)

Then she describes and shows pictures of the basic quilling shapes (circle, bullet, marquise, teardrop, square, diamond, scrolls, roses, loops, spirals, and more). The photos showing how to hold the quilling needle tool were a helpful guide in the beginning. These basic shapes, along with the decorative quilling techniques, give you an endless possibility of quilling ideas!

I was so impressed with the number of projects in just one book! I use my quilling designs to embellish my children's baby books, but for someone needing quilling designs for more than scrapbooking, there are projects to decorate cards, gift bags, candles, plant pokes, coasters, magnets, keepsake boxes -- your quilling designs can even be elegant enough to be framed!

For each project, the author tells you exactly what tool you will need, along with the basic techniques used. The instructions are very clear and *so* easy to understand. She also has very helpful "tips" for each project, such as using different types of paper, time-savers, and ideas for additional projects.

My favorite project has been making alphabet letters for the titles of my scrapbook pages. She has three to choose from -- script, fillip, and circle. The quilled letters really stand out nicely on my pages.

I highly recommend this quilling book. If I can learn to quill, you can too! If you are looking for a fun new paper craft to get into, and you've been waiting for the right book to teach you how, you've got to get this one. I think both beginning quillers and advanced quillers will enjoy this book.

Psychologist's opinion - A good straight forward book.......2007-08-01

As a psychologist specializing in treating anxiety, I found this book very useful for my clients. There are other great books on agoraphobia such as the classic by Dr Claire Weekes "Simple, effective treatment of agoraphobia." However, I believe The agoraphobia Workbook's strength is in its simple easy to follow format. It is written for the general public so avoids academic jargon. There are regular exercises to be completed in certain time-frames so it gives you a great structure for developing a goals list. Agoraphobia is a crippling condition to live with and I truly feel for anyone who suffers from it. If you suffer from agoraphobia then I recommend you read all you can on topic and, even though you've probably heard it before, then face your fear in small gradual and realistic steps. Often the avoidance is worse than actually facing your fear.

Add magnesium for better results.......2005-01-28

I am very familiar with the pain of anxiety, panic attacks, and agoraphobia for I suffered from these maladies for several decades. During those years of suffering I believed that my problems were purely mental and underwent treatment by psychiatrists, psychologists, and hypnotherapists. I took various prescribed medications and read many books such as this, but experienced little relief. And then, after I began taking a daily supplement of chelated magnesium for another seemingly-unrelated ailment, for the first time I began experiencing significant diminishment of anxiety. There seemed to be no explanation for this wonderful change until the publication in 2003 of the book The Miracle of Magnesium by Dr. Carolyn Dean. In her wonderful book Dr. Dean reveals that a major cause of anxiety and panic attacks is deficiency of magnesium and that magnesium deficiency is quite common in the U.S. Therefore, I beg all sufferers of anxiety, panic attacks, and agoraphobia to purchase and read The Miracle of Magnesium by Dr. Carolyn Dean and try the magnesium supplementation which she recommends. From Gary Chapman. I was tired of hearing all these stories about Teddi Winograd from my ever-loving wife, Ingrid. After reading Chit Chat, however, I know why she admires her. Ingrid credits Teddi with giving her so much savvy about the ways of business. And I've picked up some ideas that are helping me in my own field, too. I still can't believe that Teddi Winograd went from earning 20 cents an hour to Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. It only took thirty hard years!

"Chit Chat This 'n that: The Rocky Road to Success" promises (and delivers) a fair amount of dish, but don't think that the only lesson between the covers is "Don't kiss and tell." If Danielle Steele wrote it, it would be a captivating bit of fiction. But Teddi's story is true, and that makes it all the more amazing.

A Lover of Diana Tells His Side.......2007-07-16

Many years have elapsed since the time of this love affair as well as the Princess' death. I found James Hewitt's book to be a loving tribute to Diana, however, I felt some whining on his part. There were some very special moments that he described. Part of me feels like he was a traitor to his lover, though. Much in this book should probably have died with Diana-somewhat of a kiss and tell. But I guess I can see how he wanted to tell his side.

Hewitt Is A Certified Liar.......2002-07-10

...Remember, the Princess herself said in her famous Panorama interview that much of the claims made in Hewitt's first book was false 'fantasy' that 'came from another world' and 'didn't equate to what happened'. Keeping this in mind, one must know that this book is nothing other than a piece of [garbage] in the lowest form. As the late Princess is not here to refute or acknowledge the hideous claims made in this book, we must realize that we will never know the truth. This book, as the...slew of others that have come out recently in the years following the Princess' death, is based on nothing save hurting claims and unproven accounts. Much ado about nothing.......2001-04-19

Just another cheap ode to a pair of dim-witted narcissists. Hewitt spends half of the boring book glorifying his Gulf War escapades and lamenting the loss of his military career out of admitted stupidity. Yet again, Diana was shown to be a scheming egomaniac with the morals of an alley cat. She should be left to rest in peace. Enough of the mindless adulation.

Really quite sad........2001-02-05

This book left me feeling broken. I feel for both Diana and for James Hewitt. I don't doubt that they were in love and I think they would have had a good life together, but they both should have known better than to get involved in such a hopeless situtaton. Diana knew her marriage was over long before the divorce, she put up with a lot, but she was still a married woman with two children to raise who will have good morals. How must they feel to know both of their parents were untrue to each other.

What Anna Feretti did was unforgivable. No matter how hurt she may have been over the pictures of Hewitt and a lady, she had no right to steal Diana's letter from him and give them to the Mirror. What was she thinking. The greatest ones to suffer from this insensitive act would be the children, the only innocents left in the royal family.

Hewitt fought long and hard to get those letters back and I know they mean a great deal to him and he likes to read them over for comfort, but they need to be buried along with Diana. He will always have her in his heart and that way he can be assured no one else will ever see them.

I wish him a happy life. Diana was a shining star and the skys are so much darker without her light surrounding us. But I know that up there in heaven she has found her peace at last and happiness that will last forever. She was a true gift from God.

He's a Pig!.......2000-10-15

THis just reinforced my thought that he's a pig. If he REALLY loved her, he would not have tried to cash in on her memory and publish something that she doesn't have the chance to refute or confirm. All these cowards that are publishing books about the princess posthumously...you have to wonder, would they have done it if she was still around??
