It works.......2006-02-02
I have used Dr. Ingrams products for 2 years now and I still have my liver, unlike "DRUGS" that have been know to cause death in some cases and other complications. Just look at your television and watch the "drug" commercials and listen to the side effects.
Anyone who says that Dr. Ingrams products are not working for them then they must be doing something wrong.
I had a serious toe nail infection went to a drug store and the druggist said i would need a doctors note to get a product called lamisil a drug that she said would destroy my liver if i were to use it. She then whispered to me to go to a health food store and see what they have. I did and now no toenail fungus. Using the oil of oregano and oragamax.
It works and works well.

Sophisticated French Cooking.......2001-03-04
This is food for classy entertaining. If you can be bothered, which you should, the recipes are quite complex and time-consuming, but well within the scope of the keen home cook. And will they ever impress your guests!

It has been my pleasure to dine at Le Bec-Fin. And the book is no less a pleasure, even if you don't want to cook. The recipes are easy to follow and the "asides" are very helpful.

The author uses fine words to come out with excellent explanation. That makes it easy for readers to understand and follow the cooking steps. The book also contains gorgeous pictures of wonderful recipes. This stimulates readers to follow them and it is hard to put it down. We could say that this book is absolutely excellent. And it can stimulate our inspiration in French cooking!!!
outstanding French cooking.......1998-04-09
I bought this book solely for the photographs, which I hoped would inspire me in plating food. However, I discovered that, beautiful as the food is, the recipes are the best part of this book. They are all elegant, delicious, contemporary but classically-based French dishes that are moderately complex but not beyond the ability of a skilled home cook. In addition, Chef Perrier's preface, in which he describes his background and cooking philosophy, is nearly as good as Andre Soltner's (in "The Lutece Cookbook"). If you enjoy cooking French food, I enthusiastically recommend this book. By the way...his mussel juice is a great alternative to fish stock; give it a try.

Cover to cover, this book was filled with wonderful stories and excellent instructions. Where else could I have learned the wisdom, passed on from generation to genneration. I received an in-depth picture of how to warp and weave a Navajo loom and could never have proceeded without it.

Noel Bennett's book on Navajo Weaving is a gem. It is as much a description of her personal odyssey into the world of traditional Navajo weaving as it is a how-to book. Ms. Bennett learned from Tiana Bighorse not only the techniques of weaving but respect for the culture that created the techniques. In describing the creation of the weaving tools, the collection of dye plants, even the hand spinning of the wool Ms. Bennett shows how the creation of a rug can be a spiritual experience. Her book includes plans for a home-built Navajo loom, covers all the major weaving techniques, and includes a teaching sampler with full instructions. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to gain an insight into Navajo weaving.

What a life saver! It's difficult to get information on the Texas Gulf Coast about Navajo weaving. As an art major I had no trouble locating weaving classes (fiber arts) but no one seems to be into the Navajo style. This book singlehandedly taught me how to not only make a Navajo loom but also how to weave a rug (that turned out beautifully!). It has very easy to understand instructions that utilize contemporary easy to find materials. It also gives good resources for weaving fibers and/or tools that may not be available in your area. I haven't tried the Navajo spindle yet (to spin my own yarn) but the spindle is on order and I can't wait. Wonderful book!
Only buy it to build a tapestry loom, thats the only reason!.......2000-05-31
The only value to this [poor] attempt at giving the reader a true navajo experience, are the parts on building your own tapestry loom. There are better books!

This is one of the best books I have ever read.
I heartily recommend it as a source of great wisdom about matters such as callings, courage, mature living, choices, living. Written from a Christian perspective by a very wise leader. I am giving lots of copies away to good friends - both young adults and mid-career friends struggling with lots of priorities. Smith offers very helpful, practical guidance!!

This is the first of Gordon T. Smith's books I have read and now I intend to read others. He writes with unusual insight. I confess I have found many mainstream Christian living books written for too wide an audience, with a basic-level vocabulary, but Smith writes with intelligence, precision, and wisdom. This book aided my understanding a great deal as I struggled with a vocational loss of direction. I am so grateful for his perception and I praise this book in hope that it will guide you to a clearer understanding of God's direction for your life.

A very good book for understanding the Christian's call. It addresses the various levels that every believer ought to understand concerning calling. It does, as few do, walk the line between simple writing and deeper theology.
Life Changing and Unconventional.......2003-02-21
This book was given to me by a friend who is an avid reader and said it was the best book he had read in years. I totally agree. Gordon Smith provides an unconventional, but highly Biblical approach to God's will and leading our lives. His emphasis on vocation rather than work or tasks, challenges many of the basic pillars of life people believe today. Yet he substantiates these differing views with solid evidence from the Bible. Especially helpful is the discussion on transitions through stages of life and the vital issues that must be addressed to make these transitions successful.
This book is a must read and applies to people in all stages of life.

This book is tremendous. After reading it I can say that I still don't know what I want to do with my life, but I have a much better grasp on how to go about identifying my vocation...and am willing to be patient and take the long view. Terry Orlick's book Embracing Your Potential explains how to achieve excellence by balancing your life at work and away. Through the process of self-discovery and allowing yourself to embrace life, anyone can achieve their full potential. The book does a very good job at instilling these values. Some of which were expressed through interviews and quotes from Olympic and professional athletes. Orlick also supplies questions and exercises at the end of some chapters, which gave the reader more of an interactive experience. Even though most of Orlick's advice seems like simple common sense, it's delivered in a concise and compact manner to provide people with busy schedules an easy read. More importantly the book provides meticulous advice on reaching for and achieving excellence.
