Real life letters from a soldier to his beloved wife and son during World War II, written by two of that soldier's sons. The love and longing are palpable in Lloyd's letters to Irma and David. So many of the humorous, serious and mundane events of a WWII soldiers life are here, along with a look at the war itself and the friendships it created. The book was written with as much love as the original letters.

I highly recommend this read to anyone interested in WWII or anyone who has experienced it. I'm 32, and I learned a lot about the war that our grandparents didn't like to talk about. The letters that Mr. and Mrs. Lane left behind are true treasures. It was like the letters were being wrote to me. Very romantic, emotional, sad at parts and happy at most. I don't think I've ever read a book so fast, just so I could find out what was happening next. You'll laugh, cry, and WON'T be abole to put it down. This makes a great gift for anyone. I bought one for my grandmother, and she loves it! My grandfather was in the war, and I know she can really relate to it. ENJOY!!

STOP! Read This Book First!.......2007-07-06

I've always been interested in anabolics and never could find good, solid, unbiased information that I wanted on the subject. When I read this book it really answered a lot of my questions. It opened my eyes to the legal part of the matter and how someone can get themselves in a legal mess when you don't know the basics. This book lays it all out where steroids and the law can easily be understood and I really enjoyed it. If you are even thinking about going to a website or local dealer to get your gear, you owe it to yourself to get this book and read it first. Whats 20 or 30 bucks compared to a possible felony charge?

Steroids are drugs like any other. If you get in trouble, you are far better off with a local lawyer. Rick has made a fortune by catering to this niche, and while this book DOES tell you all the specifics about steroid law, you can find that info for free online. It kills me when people hire this guy, fly him across the country, and expect he can do something that their local lawyer cannot. Rick doesnt even win his cases.

This book is good for basic info, but it doesnt tell you anything you cant find out on your own, for free, online.

I needed this book for a good referrence, and it has proven to be an effective tool for approaching an alternative side of the steroid controversy. Anyone who feels confused about the entire issue, should read this book - and, it's a great buy! This isn't a book that encourages people to use steroids, yet it portrays the unjust circumstances that have victimized cosmetic users of AAS. It also gives very informative medical facts, that have often been distorted by anti-steroid propaganda. The legal advice in this book is astounding, as it was written by an lawyer who specializes in its area. You won't get better unbiased history, legal information, and cited facts than from this book. It packs 3 punches in one!

Authentic, tasty cooking.......2002-12-18

I purchased this cookbook because of a growing interest in the cooking of Latin America. The authors cover in depth cooking from the regions where the Maya, Aztec, and Inca kingdoms once reigned. Their knowledge of the history and food culture of each region is evident. I have made recipes from all three sections, and although all dishes have come out well, I think that this book's strength is in the recipes from Peru and Chile. Pastel de Choclo (sort of a casserole of beef and corn) and Papas a la Huancaina (potato salad with cheese and chili dressing) were particular standouts. I have tried these recipes from other cookbooks, and this book's versions were the best.

Some specialty ingredients are needed, but many recipes can be prepared with basic ingredients from the supermarket, and the authors give suggestions for substitutions when possible (which I have sometimes used with successful results). Very helpful instructions are included for preparing some of the ingredients on your own at home.

I can't believe this book is out of print. Reading it is like opening up a treasure chest and finding one gem after another. Each animal story touched me and opened my eyes and my heart to the world of animals. The stories are short and easy to read, and I found myself having a hard time stopping to take a break sometimes, I kept wanting to hear more stories. A great book to read outloud to your children too, my son was also awed by the stories. I was amazed at how smart and how compassionate animals really are. There are some interesting animal facts included too as side notes. I highly recommend this book!

The first time I read this book I thought it was one of the most wonderful books I ever read. I thought the same thing the second time I read it. I loved every story. And the best part is it doesn't just give you stories about animals and what they've done to people to change their lives, or save them. But it also gives you notes on how to return the kindness. And even stories on how people helped animals. Some of the stuff in this book is almost to hard to belive, but if you think animals are wonderous creatures that deserve the love and respect that all living things want, then you will belive everything in this book. I did. After you read the stories in this book, you'll have a different out look on all creaturs, even ants. All the stories in this book are just wonderful and amazing. My 5th grade teacher read two of the stories in this book to my whole class, after that I looked for the book. And obviously found it. Anybody who loves and cherishes their animals will love this book. Or if you just love animals and want a good read, this book would be a perfect choice.

I have owned this book for a few years now and have thoroughly enjoyed sewing some of the patterns. Of course, it is my intent to make all of them, but... I do want to say that the patterns/instructions are thorough and easy to follow. There is always room for creativity. Needless to say, I was very excited to see that there is now another book.

BABYSITTER- (bAy-B-sit-ter) A child's nightmare. In cartoons and books babysitters are qualified as bossy, uncaring, angry, and maybe even scary. Uh,uh. That is wrong. Maybe some sitters are mean and yell a lot, but those are the ones that haven't read this book. Super Sitters is a book that teaches a sitter to be helpful, caring, fun, and just about everything you can think of. It teaches simple first aid, what to ask the parents the first time you babysit for their kids, and what to do in case of an emergency. Not to mention a lot more stuff you wouldn't even think of. And the BEST part is... NONE OF IT IS JUNK! Everything is very useful so if you are a new sitter- Buy this book if you want to be successful. It has helped me to become a better sitter.

This book concentrates on the technical changes that have been secured in the second half of this century, using as its basis the main petroleum refining process, Fluid Catalytic Cracking. Both technological and economic aspects are examined over the sixty years of the process's history; and, in a
novel attempt, related the one to the other: an accomplishment that reveals more about the technology and the economics rather than either engineering or economic analysis would separately. Technology and economics are connected in the real world: in this study they are connected in their
exposition.

As in conventional economic history, technological improvements are summarized and their sources and consequences determined. In addition, the long-term pattern of costs and profits is displayed; and regular measurements are taken throughout, so that experience can be seen as the continuous
