this book is more from a psychological standpoint of a man. if your looking for something to help you understand premature ejaculation or impotency from a mans point of view its a good book. If your looking at it as a spouse looking for answers then it's a fair book but really doesn't offer the proper solutions.

Anita LaRaia's book "Pick a Perfect Wine in No Time" is a fun read. I found myself reading it every night before I went to sleep because it was so entertaining, informational, and enjoyable.

I would highly recommend this book for yourself and your friends. For Christmas, I bought 4 books for gifts including one for myself. After reading "Pick a Perfect Wine in No Time", I ordered 3 more for gifts for my friends. It may be the first wine book I've read that deserves to be a best seller.

The best book in wine came to me as a gift.......2006-02-03

I received this book and a bottle of Banfi Rosa Regale as a gift, and loved both the book and this wonderful wine sooooo much, that I have just ordered a full case and books to match, to bundle together for gifts of my own. Where else can you get such a perfect taste adventure as Rosa Regale (such a WOW of a wine, that I can't wait to try ALL of the suggestions in this book ) paired with such a fun read?

I loaned the book to my sister, who is raising four kids and not exactly at a place in her life to be cruising wine tastings, and she said, "This book makes me want to start drinking wine." Well, when I handed her a taste of the Rosa Regale that came with it, she let out the biggest WOW since the day she got word that her daughter got MVP on the High School Soccer team. No kidding. She called me a few days later to say that she just saw the Rosa Regale wine bottle in a photograph in a Bride's magazine.

I just thought I should come on here and write my own review, because I can't think of another $30 gift that is so memorable and experiential as Pick a Perfect Wine + one of her recommended wines. This book made me feel like I'm in the know & ready to roll as a hostess. There is nothing like having the inside tips to enjoy the good life, whether you are doing it on a budget or with the sky as your limit. This book is a winner.

Hope for working moms.......2000-12-11

This is a book that I have referred to over and over again to get myself organized and stay organized. Emile Barnes uses a no nonsense approach to get you organized. Her common sense system of using a timer and giving yourself 15 minutes to stay focused on your area of attack is great. I am a working mom with two toddlers. I read this book originally when I got married 7 years ago. I read it at least once a year to reinspire myself and as a constant reference to stay motivated with a busy schedule to get organized.

The best organization book out there!.......1998-05-06

This book is great. It gave a detailed chore list and told me exactly what to do to organize my cleaning. It was great help with our move, too. There is a section on almost every catagory you can imagine.

Each chapter can be read in 15 minutes, although I stayed up all night to read it... I would recommend this book to anyone who has 15 minutes to spare... If you don't have it, make it. You will have more time, I promise!!! :)

GREAT..But a Few More Pictures Would Have Been Helpful!!.......2007-05-04

I received this book today and sat down and read it cover to cover! It was very easy reading and helpful in many areas. My only suggestion would be additional pictures in some of those areas that most of us struggle with. For example, on page 57, the author makes suggestions for storing lids for pots and pans, as well as plastic storage containers. The idea "might" be good, but a picture would have been very helpful for this unusual suggestion. Instead, there are 3 pictures extolling the virtues of installing sliding shelves to store pots and pans (without lids!) Another place pictures would have been helpful is on page 72. The author suggests installing an extension rod or pot rack a few inches from the closet ceiling to hang purses. It is unclear how this would work - a picture would have been worth a 1000 words! Other than a few more pictures that would have been helpful, this book is GREAT! I would recommend it for anyone looking for additional and creative ways to control the everyday clutter!

Not the most helpful.......2005-11-09

Having read this book I really did not find it helpful at all. If I had known that every chapter and section had biblical anologies added I would never have bought or read it. By no means am I not a Christian, but I was looking for help in juggling being a mommy, a professional, a wife and all the other hundred roles that women take on every day. I would not recommend this to anyone looking to really try to get organized unless you also enjoy being preached too.

Organizing what?.......2000-05-18

I was very disappointed when I received this book. I had been looking forward to a book to help me improve my housekeeping and organization skills at home. What I received was a guide on how to add Christian values and traditions into the family. Every chapter is headed with Bible quotes and the section on Family Organization really only deals with Christian holidays and traditions. Very nice, perhaps, but not what I was looking for.

Wonderful Christian perspective on maintaining a home.......2000-04-06

This book gives practical advise not only on the mechanics of getting the home organized but how to direct your attitude to doing these things cheerfully. As a pack rat this book helped me to get it together. DON'T PUT IT DOWN, PUT IT AWAY!

If you implement 1/2 of the concepts your husband will be happy to come home to a house with a system of getting things done. Your children will have wonderful memories and have a step up on accomplishing the same things in their homes later in life.

The Holiday section of the book will help you to make life a celebration. The countdowns to Thanksgiving and Christmas are invaluable.

Nothing really new or groundbreaking. The author mostly seems to be quoting other holocaust sources and making comments about them. He doesn't seem to present any material he himself has gathered. It would seem more beneficial to just hunt down the books the author is quoting (Weinstock, Kessel, etc.) and read them instead.

Surviving.......2001-04-02

I have never read a more important or more accurate account of life in a concentration camp. Des Pres gives a new and important meaning to the word 'courage.' Des Pres' analysis of courage provides the lie to the depiction of Jews succumbing like sheep to the Nazi horror. He clearly demonstrates the courage it took to stay alive, to bear witness, to resist. Furthermore, he provides a base for understanding the meaning of the courage it took for Jews to survive 1,000 years of Christian efforts to debase Jews in their European diaspora- the courage to survive and live as Jews. I am only sorry that I did not discover this book earlier in my life.

Survivors live to witness.......1999-08-06

A close and penetrating look at how the survivors of the Nazi and Stalinist death camps came through such horror in human ways. Des Pres explodes the myths about the Jews going to their deaths "like sheep;" of survivors saving their own lives by becoming amoral; of those who lived suffering from "survivor's guilt." Rather, says Des Pres, survivors felt an obligation to the dead to bear witness; survivors lived by maintaining their moral sensibilities and by cooperating with one another and sharing in each other's tribulations and successes; to survive in the conditions of extremity found in the death camps was, in itself, an act of resistance. Humans are social by nature of their very biology, says Des Pres, and this is perhaps our main hope in this century. His depiction of survivor as "hero" is a welcome contrast to the numerous dead heroes of Western literature -- and a necessary one in this century of atrocities. Des Pres also wrote _Praises and Dispraises: Poetry and Politics, the 20th Century_ and _Writing Into the World: Essays 1973-1987_ -- both important books about the social and political role of the poet (and other writers). It's unfortunate that these two volumes are currently out of print.

The most important book ever written about the Holocaust.......1997-04-28

Few historians have the stomach to tackle an in-depth historical survey of the Nazi Holocaust. Even fewer have the depth and intelligence to look deep into its many figures and faces to create a work of literature which deals with the ontological essence of humankind. Such an effort would seem like an unreachable and naive goal if it weren't so beautifully examined in Des Pres' book, in which he uses a wealth of haunting voices from the Holocaust to introduce his readers to a new chapter of the human spirit: the Survivor.
