Adolfo Rodriguez was the only son of a Cuban farmer, who lived nine miles outside of Santa Clara, beyond the hills that surround that city to the north. When the revolution in Cuba broke out young Rodriguez joined the insurgents, leaving his father and mother and two sisters at the farm. He was taken, in December of 1896, by a force of the Guardia Civile, the corps d'elite of the Spanish army, and defended himself when they tried to capture him, wounding three of them with his machete. He was tried by a military court for bearing arms against the government, and sentenced to be shot by a fusillade some morning before sunrise.

Customer Reviews:
The Ultimate Answer, This is it !.......2005-12-05
I have lost weight all of my life. I have lost well over 500 pounds. (20 to 30 pounds per year) Gain, lose, gain lose; I took comfort in knowing the bears do it. The only problem as Deepak notes is that there is scientific evidence that yo yo weight control is not good for your health. With the exception of those who are clinically obese, over 25% above the normal weight for your body type, the yo yo'er is a big risk. I have successfully done just about every diet out there. The only problem is that each of them is based on excluding a food group out of your diet. After a while you crave that food group.
Talk about the "Power of Coincidence" part of another one of Deepak's books, I was at a party, and this girl who was in great shape said, "It's all about moderation and exercise" I heard that from others who have always been in great shape all their lives. The only problem is that I can't think about restricting portions or counting calories. Then along comes Deepak with the perfect answer. His program is simple, for the first two weeks only eat when you are truly hungry. He identifies the different levels of hunger, and assigns them a number. 0-1 is the first level. You feel real hunger, it is gnawing at you. This is the time when your body is prepared to assimilate food. Then you have the levels in between which is when we eat when we are not truly hungry. Maybe because it is dinnertime, or maybe because we have emotional needs that are not being met, and we are substituting food. Emotional eating as a substitute. When we are truly hungry at level 0-1, we then eat, and concentrate on what we are eating. Don't watch TV, don't talk just absorb the food. Almost on a spiritual level, you are welcoming the nutrition into your body, as compared to watching TV, talking on the phone, and scratching the cat while you are eating :-) then when you are done, you feel frustrated because you never had the "experience" of eating. In frustration you go back and eat some more. What he tells you to do is to eat until you reach level 6, which is the level that you are completely satisfied, but not over stuffed. He tells us to eat until our stomachs are about three quarters full. This is not deprivation, it is satisfaction. Furthermore, he is not telling us what to eat. When you body is telling you it is time to eat pasta, eat it. Don't over eat it, just enough until you are satisfied. This really works. I just went through the Thanksgiving holiday, even over eating on Thanksgiving, having chocolate cake on another night, and ice cream on another. All the while eating the way he taught me on the others. I am down 4 pounds over the holidays, and now I am down 5 1/2. These are no effort results. Who cares how long it takes.
Here is another key component. After the first two weeks, when he tells you to listen to your body, feel your stomach, and eat only when you are hungry, he leads you into week 3 with eating your biggest meal in the middle of the day. In Europe this is a tradition. During the morning, you should eat very little, if at all. I do this also, but I listen to my body, and if I am entering into a heavy labor day, I eat a hearty breakfast. If I am not hungry in the morning, I have green tea with mint, and seasoned with non-fat milk. Then for dinner, I eat light also, which is his recommendation. Either soup with a few pieces of toast. (Whole GRAIN toast is the most wholesome and dietetic) or I will have a light salad, or I will have whole grain cereal with non fat milk, fresh fruit or Del Monte brand quality canned fruit . So my overall day is one of fewer calories, but never am I sacrificing my pleasure. If my body says, I am at level 0-1 I eat. I don't sit down to dinner at 5 or 6 pm just because it is dinnertime and eat. If I am not hungry, I don't eat. Well duh, why have I been cramming a full meal into my body all along, even when I am not hungry, just because it is "dinner time". He says a pound a week is what to expect. With more exercise, expect more. Here is where he shines again. He gives us several Yoga poses that we are supposed to get into and hold for 5 seconds. Increase flexibility, strength, stamina, balance and generate a sense of well being in only 10 or 15 minutes. You can repeat them as you grow.
Now let me get onto something that is just as important. I am 55 years of age. Recently I started having what is known as Acid Reflux Disease. I am normally a perfectly healthy person. What I have been experiencing is waking up in the night, with gas trying to leave my body, but because I have been eating dinner at 8pm, then having a double chocolate pudding at 10:30 or 11pm, I have been having that problem. Gas trying to leave my body, being blocked by food in the way. So it pushes the food up above the esophogeal sphincter, burning the lining with stomach acid, and that is what they mean by acid reflux. No matter what I ate late it was a problem. Then I tried Deepak's eating routine as spelled out in this book, and I have not had even one single night of this problem. Forget taking medicine to mask the symptom, fix the problem instead. I even had Gastritis one night, where I woke up with SHARP gas pains in the upper part of my stomach area, and was wondering if I was having heart problems. I read in Back to Eden by Jethro Kloss about the causes, symptoms and treatment of, and was great relieved to see it was gastritis. (I highly, highly recommend Back to Eden as well)
So what did Dr. Chopra do with this book? He gave me back health, and gave me a way to lose weight for the rest of my life. A pound a week is fine with me. I'm not deprived in any way; I simply am no longer over eating. As a matter of fact the light mornings, and or light evenings are a miracle cure for a weight problem. Now I look and say, hey, be in perfect shape by next fall, no problem. I can do this forever. Maybe I can up my exercise routine and get there even faster.
By the way he calls the book "Perfect Weight" because he is not interested in you being skinny. He wants you to pick out the weight you want to be, and to be happy at that weight. (As long as the number is not at the level of obesity) When you are happy at a certain weight, your body shows it. You walk it, talk it, and exhume it. Like they say, when you look good, you feel good.
Including ginger in your diet, and sipping hot water during the day, I haven't done that yet, so ignore the skeptics. I'm perfectly happy with doing the rest of the program. I know I will introduce more ginger into my diet, and I will include more Green tea with mint very hot as a means of sipping hot water. Hey the rest of the program works, why not that part too.
This program is great. I know how to lose 6 pounds in a week, only to grow tired of the regimen. I think I will do this instead, and live a little now, while I am on the pathway to health and happiness. I highly, highly recommend this book. Thanks for your time.
Not-So-Perfect Book about Perfect Weight.......2004-04-01
This book was less than helpful for me. First of all, the section on figuring out your body type was confusing and I did not come up with a clear-cut answer. Although this book contained some interesting theories and ideas, the majority of the techniques and suggestions are completely impractical for anyone with a normal life, schedule and job. For example, I work from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and most days without a lunch "break". I eat in the car on the way to my next client. So how am I supposed to eat a large, hot meal at a specific time, made of freshly cooked food and not leftovers? Really, unless they invent microwave ovens for cars, it's not going to happen. Also, some of the other ideas were just downright unappealing to me, bordering on disgusting (drinking boiled warm milk and sipping hot water with ginger all day while eliminating cold drinks). This plan may be very effective for the independently wealthy who are able to sit meditating in a beatiful natural setting and have a personal shopper and chef to wait on them. But for the rest of us, this book does not contain much practical advice for people with busy lives. I know myself and this is a weight loss program requiring too many radical changes and impractical ideas that I would never get past the first week. I found this book to be a not-so-perfect weight loss theory.
Belive it or not... :-).......2002-05-06
For years I read self-help and motivational books. Like 7 habits for highly effective people, Life strategies - Doing what matters doing what works and the likes. But never having dedicatede the time and effort to start the procces to actually put my knowleged into practical application.
My new-years resolution for 2001 was "More love for me, More love to what I do!" And come feb. life handed me an oppotunity to drop off the radar and start practicing what I had been preacing to my self for years.
I had been over weight since I was 13-14 years old.
Simplyfied but true, at 137 kg, being fat was my ultimate excuse for anything wrong that happend in my life.
So I decided to focus my attention to turn the tabel and start showing myself the love I felt I lacked.
I had known about Chopra for years and when I came across this book I thought "Why not this way!" and bought it.
To cut an already long story short :-)
Now a year and a half later I'm at 88-90kg (Down some 50kg)
Wow, but the most important points I will stress to you wanting to use this book as inspiration and guide. Drink the boiling water and don't focus on how much you loose in Lbs./Kg's, but how much you show your self that you're worth it, by sticking to your plan. And don't forget... If you fall of the horse - TRY AGAIN! Best of wishes and loads of love to you all - You ARE worth it, you just wait and see ;-)
Not very practical.......2002-01-16
This is a well written and informative book. Unfortunately for me it is not a practical one. Sure if I changed my life around completely I would be able to follow the guidelines of the book - but who can do that when they have to earn a living?
If you are retired or without any permanent committments then Deepak's book may just work for you. Read it enjoy it but don't necessarily expect to use it.
Small but powerful.......2001-04-29
I was amazed at how much information was packed into such a modest looking book. I read it twice and made so many notes. I borrowed this copy but am buying one for my own reference. I also researched blood type dieting and it all ties in together. The guidelines and information detailed in Perfect Weight make dieting obsolete and transforming my lifestyle into changes my body is craving naturally. Stress free and pleasurable. Simply the best advice I've ever read on the subject.

Survivor Manual For The Broken-Hearted.......2003-01-09
Because I am not an animal lover, I wondered what the author's unique perspective could offer me. Having survived a bitter divorce, I try my best to keep an open mind and learn something new from others who have walked this painful road of divorce. The question remained: How can pets help you survive divorce?
As I read through the chapters, phrases here and there immediately caught my attention. "I was about to grieve a death but I wasn't fully prepared for its complexity." Profound and so very true. Nothing can compare to the loss of a divorce. I find it's a two-sided sword. Regardless of who says it's over, both spouses are hurt. Common sense: One prepares for his or her wedding day but who prepares for a divorce?
The author's description of Hansel, a wayward Belgian Shepherd, fit perfectly. She states, "This couldn't be happening to me. Not to me." Resounding and painfully true. I don't know how many times I felt wayward while uttering this painful "Not to me" phrase in the beginning of the falling apart of my marriage. I guess when it comes down to it, only one walking through the dark dungeons of betrayal, separation, court proceedings, and lonely nights can make such a deliberate, raw, and numbing statement.
The POV of Ms. Rogers is authentic and heart felt. I appreciate the fact that she is not speaking from so-called research. She speaks from her heart, and shares her own first-hand experience, which is something as a reader I appreciated. That took courage.
"Ending a relationship through separation or divorce is complicated by the fact that both partners are still alive. Wounds run deep. One or both feel rejected." So very true. No matter how much ones tries to keep up the facade that everything is all right in public or in their own mind of denial in their lonely bedroom at home -- regardless of who leaves -- feeling and seeing the love that once was is no more being dismantled 50/50 by a judge, the church, and society is humiliating and devastating. And having others wonder out loud why your marriage fell apart doesn't make one feel any better.
In Happy Tails, Ms. Rogers covers it all. She tells you like it is and doesn't paint a pretty picture of what it is you are to expect when it comes to going through a divorce. How fortunate for her readers that she also provides strength, empathy, inspiration, and hope not only to forgive yourself but to forgive your ex spouse so that you can move on with no regrets. The key to moving on is letting go. Ms. Rogers provides relevant and realistic pearls of wisdom.
The use of animal analogies is brilliant. As I read through the book, I couldn't help identifying with Snickers, the feisty dachsund. That's me. My heart strings were pulled by the wounds suffered by Buck, the Shelty. That's me. I struggled holding back the tears thinking of my children as I read the story of the little boy, Jacob, and, Jasper, the baby raccoon. That's me, again!
My only displeasure with this book is in its title. I don't understand how Brown Books could have assigned such a flimsy title to such an outstanding book. I think because of the "friendly and happy title," this book can unfortunately get easily overlooked, which is truly a shame.
For those of you reading my review, please give this book a chance. Believe me, this book is profound and is capable of changing lives. It's an antidote for the emotionally fragile who are walking around with a broken heart as they see their homes, families, and marriages falling apart. This book is truly worth its weight in gold.
Given as a gift to yourself, a close friend, or loved one, this book will be cherished like an old, loyal friend; a book you'll want close on your nightstand, reminding you on those sleepless, teary-eyed nights, that you will survive this pain and you're going to be all right.
The author forces us to face the raw emotions..........2002-04-28
Although this isn't a tradtional book with beginning, middle, and end, it does pull you through, chapter by fascinating chapter.
All the emotions you would feel before, going through, or after a divorce are expanded upon with vignettes of dog stories. You will experience the loneliness and fear of Gigi, who finds herself in a dog shelter. The author felt like Gigi - alone and afraid. She needed someone she could trust - someone to love her.
Then there's the story of Woodrow, the cat. When he was so sick, they didn't know whether he would make it or not. After lots of love and nurturing, he developed into a 17 lb creature who delighted everyone. Was the author's marriage worthy of all that nurturing? She decides that it's not always wrong to quit; sometimes it's just plain smart.
Through the various cats and dogs that streamed through her life, she learned about freedom, understanding, acceptance, forgiveness, and commitment.
The author forces us to face the raw emotions, and gently helps us to deal with them. There is no such thing as a painless divorce. Then, she gives us hope for the future by sharing the story of how she met her second husband, and what she was looking for this time. She didn't want to make the same mistakes again!
So, whether you are thinking about divorce, going through divorce, divorced and afraid to try again, or if you have remarried, you will definitely get some help from "Happy Tails".
Superbly presented self-help guide for men, women, children.......2001-06-09
Simply stated, Julie Rogers' Happy Tails: How Pets Can Help You Survive Divorce is a superbly presented self-help guide for men, women and children affected by divorce. Replete with helpful information about the stages of overcoming a relationship loss and establishing new bonds of intimacy, Happy Tails is a unique, practical, effective, and very highly recommended advisory for utilizing the compassionate bonds that develop between dogs, cats, turtles, fox squirrels, as well as other pets and their human companions in establishing and acquiring love, companionship and spirituality in the face of estrangement, separation, and divorce.

Customer Reviews:
a bit dated but the advice is right on target.......2003-07-04
How would you like to save anywhere from 45% to 90% of costs on groceries on a consistent basis? How would you like to be able to walk into a grocery store with a $5.00 bill and come out with over $100.00 in groceries? Does this sound too fantastic to you? If it does, you need to read this book and practice the methods given.
Susan J. Samtur gives good advice on how one can save a tremendous amount of money on groceries and earn untaxed income through rebates. The advice she gives is nothing new but so few people follow it. Either out of laziness or skepticism, coupons are underused and misunderstood as are rebates or refunding. In her book Susan J. Samtur details how she is able to earn about $1500.00 a year through refunding and consistently saves between 30% and 45% off the regular price for groceries. She also explains how anyone can save as much or more than her through strategic couponing and refunding. She clears up many misconceptions and myths like "Discount stores are cheaper", "store brands are cheaper", "you don't really save that much on coupons".
In the age of the internet, some of the methods she mentions are more or less obsolete. On the other hand, she can and will save you a lot of money on groceries if you follow her advice. I'm living proof that her methods work because I've tried them and have been able to walk out of the grocery store paying a little over the sales tax on brand name products.
It started my addiction.......2002-01-27
It is not just saving money...it turns you into a coupon addict, a money-saving freak!! Then you try to turn your friends and family on to it. I am currently starting a coupon club because I bought this book 9 years ago, I am now buying it againt to pass on the information to my club members (my book keeps getting passed around and never returns to me!)

Gardening is best when it doesn't seem like work. This fun mix-and-match book is an inspiring way for green thumbs to keep playing and planning through an entire year of rewarding effort. The book's format is both practical and entertaining--there's a sturdy cover that stands up to being taken right outside, while the interior spiral binding allows for quick flips and guarantees a long life. Each page is divided into four panels--trees are at the top of the page, while tiny groundcovers are featured at the bottom. A lovely full-color picture is shown on the right, and all the facts you'll need are on the left--blooming season, size, required sun and water, and a quick list of helpful planting details. Plants for all gardening styles are shown, from old-fashioned phlox to striking silver pear trees, and there are plenty of options ranging from high-maintenance antique blossoms to easy-care grasses. Armed with a million total combinations, you'll have hours of fun plotting a new shade garden or striking yearlong foliage display. The introduction is especially helpful for gardeners still learning the basics of design, like how colors work together to create specific effects and how to extend the growing season to the absolute maximum for your climate, but the experienced gardener will find tips as well. Shorthand codes for growing conditions are simple to decipher and large enough to be easily legible. When you're ready for a break from mulching, pruning, or weeding, this is the perfect book to remind you why you got started with your garden in the first place. --Jill Lightner

Customer Reviews:
Quite good but too long.......2007-05-24
I found this book quite interesting and useful, but it was definitely rather long-winded. In every chapter, the authors each interject into the general advice with lengthy personal narratives about their own personal experiences. This starts out being helpful and interesting, but gets quite repetitive and overly long. It becomes difficult not to skip-and-skim through those sections.
What I took away from this book, rather than picking up a lot of unique advice or techniques, was more of a general sense of what it takes to have a good marriage. I do think it was a helpful book, but it could have benefited from chopping a third of its length.
I do have one substantive "nit-pick" with this book. Although the book doesn't say this, it seemed to me that a lot of the book was written by the wife. Or at least, a lot of the problems described in the couple's marriage seemed to stem from the husband: his inability to express his feelings, his lack of respect for his wife's time, his preoccupation with work, his blindness to her emotional needs, etc. A lot of the book is about how he learned to overcome these troubles and so make his wife more happy.
Maybe this is how it really was in their marriage, that most of the problems were from his side...but if not, then it seems a bit unfair that he is portrayed as more of the "bad guy" here. I would have liked it if she also described more of her own problems and how she had to overcome them, rather than mostly describing how she learned to deal with his problems.
This is a valuable read.......2001-02-11
I'd recommend this book for any of my married friends. The Garcia-Prats have done an excellent job of writing a really engaging book. It makes you think about the importance of marriage, to not just the couple but the entire family and our society as a whole. So many families today are searching for answers. This is a place to get some. I can't say I agree with everything in the book, but it certainly made me think about my own marriage in a new light.
Too Preachy.......2000-12-13
Instead of giving helpful advice, this book lectures. I'd rather read a book that helps my husband and I address our problems, than one that sets itself up on a pedestal. I'm sure the Garcia-Prats are a remarkable couple, but I'm not sure how they qualify as experts.
Nothing New.......2000-12-12
I read the Garcia-Prats' first book, which was okay, but this one is simply a lot of recycled information. Some of the advice is amazingly impractical, i.e. when they talk about forgiveness. Mrs. Garcia-Prats cites a saint who forgave her daughter's rapist. In the framework of a marriage, this seems like a reach. Much of the rest of the book appears to consist of quotes and ideas taken from other "experts." This isn't the place to look for fresh, practical ideas. That said, they look like a nice family with cute kids.
Rethinking my 55 years of marriage.......2000-11-29
After fifty five years of marriage- I wish this was available when we were married. It also puts us back in focus of our own marriage. LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING is still the way to go.

Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.
