This book is excellenet and a must read. It offers a lay man's summary of the causes of miscarriage, what to expect in terms of medical care and testing, and discusses recurrent miscarriages. It also includes a chapter on coping with miscarriages. I cannot recommend this book enough. It was well worth the money.

Finally My Questions Answered.......2005-06-21

After having gone through two miscarriages, I found Dr. Lerner's book wonderfully helpful. It helped me understand why I probably had my miscarriages and made me feel positive about going ahead to try to get pregnant again. I think anyone who has had a miscarriage and feels bad about it -- and I think everyone who goes through it does -- will benefit from reading this book. We did!

I expected more...keep looking!.......2005-03-04

This is a very general book, and almost dismissive of the first time sufferer. My circumstances do not make me the proper audience for this book, and it is not for the person with difficulty in conceiving, with an underlying health condition, a woman over 35, and a host of others. The explanations are fairly elementary, and like another reviewer, find that many other publications contradict his theories. If this is the "best book on m/c available", then I need to go to the Medical School library.

In my personal experience, I find that the author has only a cursory grasp of thyroid and auto-immune issues, and in fact confuses Grave's disease for Hashimoto's. If one is to write a book which will encroach on specialties other than one's own, have the proper specialists at least review it! The best part of the book is the section on the psychological aspect of pregnancy loss. This is the only book I have seen which discussed the differences a man and woman may feel through a miscarriage.

Not the book for me. The author makes it seem as though, suffering "only" one miscarriage, regardless of my circumstances, I do not deserve to "drain the national healthcare" in my quest for answers. Keep looking.

More than just one loss!.......2005-02-09

First of all, I am a recurrent miscarrier. I have suffered 5 losses. I am a mother of two healthy boys, unfortunatly I have been unable to keep a pregnancy longer than 9 weeks. I highly recommend Dr. Lerner's book on Miscarriages, He definatly informed me of possiblities I was not sure were out there. I have read several other "pregnancy loss" books and all they focus on are the emotional status of the parents. I am not saying that is not important, but don't we want to know why this is happening? How can we figure out the reason this happened? If you want a book on trying to get your questions answered, especially when our HMO doctors are rushed for time, this is the book for you.

Don't waste your time and money..........2005-01-06

...on this book, or any other book written by Dr. Lerner - especially those written regarding the reduction or prevention of miscarriages. In fact, you can find more accurate information on the internet.
What Dr. Lerner doesn't tell you is that he runs a LOW risk practice, where most miscarriages are, in fact, due to a chromosomal mis-match, and occur very early in the pregnancy. Any testing for later-term pregnancy losses must be done outside of his practice.
So - I suggest you find a HIGH risk Dr. to answer your questions regarding miscarriages, rather than wasting your time and money on this book.

This book is amazing, best of the three(i own them all). Better layout and pictures. Some more easy to find strains then the other versions. I'll say on thing, if you like cannabis at all you will love this book. HOWEVER, there is something in this book that really upset me. There is a large tone of vegan elitism in this book. The intro is a 12 page essay on the evils of modern society in every way including bashing many things used to create and sell his book. I felt it was insulting and over the top in every way.

But dont let that stop you from a other wise great book.

I bought this for my roommate and he loves it. Its an excellent, stylish guide to many different types of cannabis strains. The book features descriptions of each strain mentioned, along with information on the quality of the bud and the high it gives. Jason King takes excellent photos, and the closeups of the resin glands will make your mouth water, I'm sure.

A must buy for any marijuana enthusiast.

If you love nugget then this is the book for you. It has every thing you'll ever need to know about earths sweetest plat, cannabis. If you need to learn more about how to grow weed or even how to smoke or what to smoke out of then you need this book. This author deserves at least five stars for his unparalleled effort! The Cannabible is a monumental work that will form the base of marijuana identification in the future. King has dedicated his life to writing about and photographing cannabis. His passion permeates every page of the book. We need more dedicated author/photographers like him. Traveling the world collecting information about an illegal plant is difficult and dangerous. King has risen to the occasion and provided great photographs and engaging text on my favorite plant. This connoisseur-quality book is a welcome addition to my library. My Cannabible II is on the way now!

Overall I give the collection 4 stars for all that it does well - even though it is not entirely what I had hoped it would be. This is a good collection for entertaining people interested in cannabis, but it is not as informational as I had hoped it would be.

I was hoping for something that would share more useful information about different strains of cannabis: growing characteristics, preferred growing mediums and environments, indoor-outdoor height, potency, nutrient preferences, etc. I keep hoping somebody will produce something like a world wide seed catalog, but written by unbiased connoisseurs and growers who are personally experienced with growing the various strains and with their medical properties and effects.

On the positive side: The photography was great and there were some really interesting articles in the books as well. Also, the price is fantastic for all that you are getting, and the presentation value is very good (including the nice slip case).

One major drawback for me however was how repetitively the author constantly preaches about how "outdoor organically grown" cannabis is so universally superior to every other possible growing alternative. It's fine that he believes that so adamantly, but I didn't feel I needed to hear those same beliefs repeatedly hammered home on virtually every single page of the book(s) and I was really tired of hearing about it only halfway through the first book.

Cannabible 2 Rocks!.......2004-06-08

When I first received this book I was very impressed by the cover.
Once you hold it in your hand you will understand. The printing
process used on the front cover has a glossy photo on a matte
background, and this creates a beautiful interplay of light on the
cover image. The back cover also amazed me, as there are extremely
high quality photos of unusually well grown buds.

The microphotography throughout the book is exceptionally clear, and
extremely valuable to anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the
maturation process of cannabis trichomes.

Throughout the book there are anectdotes and references to people
that have played a prominent role in the cannabis reform movement,
which I find very interesting. For example, the photos of Eddy Lepp's
garden were on such a grand scale that I laughed out loud when I saw
them. Unfortunately, the garden was raided, but Eddy was never
charged.

The scope of the genetics covered in Cannabible 2 is not only broad
but contemporary and relevant to present day cultivation. The text
and details on the strains is very well written, with clear concise
explanations of lineage. I even agree with the author's assesment of
some of my favorite strains, Cinderella and Apollo. It is rare that I
find such a like minded sativa lover as is the author, Jason King.

I own cannabis cultivation books all the way back to 1977, and I can
say without hesitation that Cannabible 2 has a place among the very
best of my library. Not because it will teach you everything you need
to grow, but rather because it will show you what good looks like.
The pictures, and the layout of the images are extremely powerful. It
is obvious that the author is looking with an eye that sees past the
surface of his subject. It is hard to quantify, but the sense of
quality and care in the compilation of this volume is clearly
tangible.

Although the Blue Book is the avid doll collectors' favorite price guide, it contains numerous categories that have not been updated for quite a number of years. China, parian, papier mache, and wooden, some of the earliest dolls in existence, have been gaining in popularity for several years now and the market prices, both at auction and online have been rising considerably. The Blue Book has not caught up with this trend.

Also, it would be extremely helpful if there were a comprehensive section that described the methods used in compiling the information as well as the sources of this information. Some of the prices are so far off the mark in actual market prices realized, that it makes the professional wonder if the numbers are merely picked out of blue sky.

The book is well structured and is the easiest to use on a daily basis, of all the price guides, however, serious updating and a description of the price compilation process, would improve it immensely.

Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.

Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.

Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09

There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.

For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.

History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10

Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.

I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.

Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.

Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.

I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.

This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.
