Book Description
This wasn't supposed to happen, not in the NFL as envisioned by Pete Rozelle and brought to fruition by Paul Tagliabue. Parity, the parity that treats us to a last-to-first shocker like the 2001 Patriots, is OK--encouraged, even. But the salary cap, free agency, and the unbalanced schedule all discourage one team from dominating the landscape. They forgot to inform Bill Belichick and his team, whose tunnel vision helped them reel off a record 21 straight wins across two seasons (21 one-game winning streaks in Bill's World). These Patriots shrugged at those who questioned how a team with so few "stars" could possibly take down the champion Rams, the explosive Colts, or the bruising Steelers, and then proceeded to do just that. Are they a dynasty? They wish they could chat bout it, but there's film to break down and a tough game to prepare for.

Dynasty.......2007-03-14
The NFl created free angency so that all teams had a chance to win the Superbowl. It pretty much happened. We had the 1999 Rams, 2000 Ravens, 2002 Buccaneeers, 2005 Steelers, and the 2006 Colts. What was not supposed to happen was the Pats winning 3 superbowl in 4 years.
Pretty much they did not have the same team. Tom Brady, Teddy Bruschi, Mike Vrabel, Troy Brown, Richard Seymour, and Adam Vineterri where pretty the players who were there for all of them.
You have to look at the coach. This past season the patriots made no attempt in free angecy to sign anyone. They lost Branch, Vineterri, and Givens. We still finished 12-4 and were 5 points away from being in superbowl XLI. Belichick is one the greatest coaches ever.
The 2001 patriots on paper where a 2-14 team. They had no all star players going into the season. They had a coach who failed at cleveland and their 105 million dollar quaterback got injured in the second game of the season. They played as a team and won the superbowl.
The 2003-04 patriots I concider to be one of the greatest teams of all time. They had a lineup of all-pros. The cruised through the season and lost only 4 times over a 2 year span. They dismantled the team in 2006.
Don't be suprised if they two more superbowl in 2007-08.

Book Description
He was warned by his own government not to go to Hanoi, Vietnam. It was he was told still considered "enemy territory". There would be no seventh fleet off shore to help him. He would have no radio, no weapon and no friendly contacts in country to come to his aid should he be detained on trumped up charges. Others he was told had been held incommunicado for arbitrary periods of time. "You're not a movie star, family member of the missing, a millionaire or an official member of the U.S. Government," the State Department said. Just leave it alone"don't forget the Logan Act- citizens are not authorized to negotiate with foreign powers!"
It wasn't even possible to buy a plan ticket to Hanoi, Vietnam, from anywhere in the United States. It would cost money. The U.S. government would not help. Neither would a single U.S. corporation sponsor the effort for fear that they would loose out on profits if the lifting of the Trade Embargo were delayed for any reason. The POW/MIA issue was a thorn in the side of to many lobbyists who were trying to conduct business with Vietnam. Members of Congress also had to watch their actions before veterans and companies seeking to make inroads on their respective causes.
Still, Joseph M. Corrigan found the courage of conviction to go to Hanoi, Vietnam alone. He sold his pension fund to finance his work. He flew into the mouth of the tiger. Where others had failed he succeeded! The Patriot's Way is his story.

The Patriots Way.......2006-12-10
This is a awesome read. G.W. leads the reader on a roller coaster ride of suspense and adventure in this book. It is hard to believe that this is a "first" novel. I am anxiously awaiting the release of the next book.
Sincerely,
Devin W. South
Great Book.......2006-11-25
I love checking out new authors. I was not disappointed in G. W. Garrison Jr.
He has a way of drawing the reader into the book, so that you feel like you are actually a part of it. I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. He gives such detailed descriptions, which make the book spring to life. It had me on the edge of my seat at times, and laughing so hard at other times. I can't wait to read more as he has promised a series of books.
A Must Read.......2006-11-09
The author combines his detailed knowledge of law enforcement with an exceptional writing ability that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It's a definite must read for thrill seekers.

Book Description
Winner of the Editor's Choice Lambda Literary Award
A Star-Bright Lie recounts the age-old story of the young provincial who comes to New York and is dazzled and betrayed by the bright lights of Broadway, but with a few kinks to the story: the provincial in this case was gay and would later develop into one of America's finest novelists.
Coleman Dowell left Kentucky for New York in 1950 and spent the next decade trying to "make it" in the big city. With the same stylish verve and searching analysis that illuminate his fiction, Dowell recounts his frustrating experiences in show biz: early success as staff composer for a TV show; next, touted as David Merrick's "Golden Boy," a failed attempt to adapt O'Neill's Ah, Wilderness! as a musical; several other attempts at a hit on Broadway; and finally, a sabotaged venture at making a musical of Carl Van Vechten's novel The Tattooed Countess.
Throughout this memoir are unsparing portraits of Tennessee Williams, Merrick, Van Vechten, Isak Dinesen, and others of the period. But the real star is Dowell himself: "his paranoia, his bedeviled fascination with glamour, his lyric response to nature, his nostalgia for a Kentucky he'd fled and then reinvented, his Gothic sense of horror, his touchy pride, his passion for black men, his alienation from both heterosexual society and the two forms of gay life he'd known" (from novelist Edmund White's foreword). Illustrated with eight pages of photographs (many, including the cover, by Van Vechten).

We have a previous edition and wanted to update. This edition does not have anything but lures, no reels!
Customer Reviews:
Great for Information.......2005-09-26
As a lure collector, I have several identification guides.
This book gets used more than the rest, simply because it is more an identification guide than a Value guide. (Sure, it has book value included(which means nothing compared to auction values), but, it also has way more information on the lures and companies themselves than most other ID books).
If you are looking for a complete library (if you want almost any lure identification at your fingertips--or in your head , as you learn about them all--), then you should definately include this one.
But (always a "but"), this book doesn't cover too many of the "small name" companies out there, or folk arts, nor many flies. But, if it's a top name company (Heddon, Creek Chub, South Bend, Shakespeare, etc.), you will find it in this book, up until 1975.
You cannot go wrong with this book...and if mine ever wears away with use, I'll keep purchasing new copies as needed.
EXCELLENT AND WELL DONE.......2005-02-21
This is one of the better guides. I really could not do business without it. You certainly will not be wasting your money on this one. Highly recommed it for the collector, dealer and those just interested.
glad we picked this on.......2003-09-10
my husband received an old tackle box full of lures from a friend who just did not want it any more. we knew there were some from the early 20's to 40's,other than that we knew nothing about them. we found several books we thought might help us. we had a tough time deciding between this one and several others on amazon. at the last min we decided to get this one and are we glad. has wonderful history, easy to use index. it is a wealth of information. we have identified dozens of tackle. this book is HIGHLY recommended if you have alot of old lures.
GREAT REFERENCE BUT POOR CONSTRUCTION.......2002-01-25
HAVE HAD LOTS OF LUCK FINDING GRANDPA'S LURES AND WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO THOSE WISHING TO IDENTIFY OLD LURES. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT PAGES HAVE BEGAN TO FALL OUT OF THE BOOK CREATING A BIT OF A MESS.
START HERE.......2001-01-21
THIS BOOK WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL. FOUND GRANDAD'S TACKLE BOXES FROM THE 50'S. THIS BOOK ALLOWED ME TO IDENTIFY 98 OUT OF 139 TOTAL LURES, FLIES, AND OTHER ITEMS. (HIS PEACH PIT AND BANDAID WERE NOT LISTED.) THIS BOOK HAS STARTED A HOBBY WHICH I HOPE TO PASS DOWN TO MY CHILDREN. COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT THIS MASSIVE AMOUNT OF INFORMATION AND KNOWLEDGE! THANKS C.F. LUCKEY AND AMAZON.COM!
Customer Reviews:
A good introduction to lures for the new collector........1998-12-12
I've learned a lot about old fishing lures by browsing through this book. It is well worth it. I rated it four stars because some of the black and white pictures are not clear, and descriptions were a little too brief, although this could be because that's all the author had available to him. If you're new to collecting this is a great starter book.
Great for the beginner.......1998-09-23
I think that this book is great for someone just beginning lure collecting. It is very easy to use and understand.

Life Like Portrayals in Applique.......2004-07-24
Exceptional simple explanation and illustrations. A valuable addition to my library
excellent book.......2004-04-06
This is a great book. Charlotte brings people to life in her quilts. I am truly amazed and inspired by her work. She guides you thru the process to approaching quilt making with her techniques. I am still working on making my first face quilt and although it takes some work...it is well worth it if you are interested in this kind of quilt art. Another great book i am happy to own.
Focus on Features.......2002-08-13
This is an excellent book. I'll keep it forever as a reference book. It arrived in perfect shape and in a short time from when ordered. Thank You.
My Favorite Pictorial Quilting Book By A Mile!.......2001-07-10
This is by far the most helpful book I have when it comes to doing realistic pictorial quilts. There are so many details and tips about how to make features, hands, fur, and more look more lifelike...those alone are worth the purchase price. Although the author sews as she goes and I use the fusible web technique, there is no conflict. I find myself turning to this book again and again to help me solve problems. The author goes into some detail about how to draw features so that they can be easily rendered in fabric...there is a fascinating quiz where you match a drawn outline of ears, eyes, nose, or mouth with the photo from which it came. Comparing the drawings with the photos was a very instructive exercise. If you want to create realistic picture quilts that contain people or animals, this is the number one book to have!
Inspiring!.......2001-05-08
Definitely a must-have! Charlotte gave a lecture and 2 day workshop for Naples Quilters Guild - wonderful! Don't miss her lecture/workshop if she should be in your area. Next best thing is her book. Charlotte's applique technique is great and her ideas will inspire you to create wonderful portraits! Don't miss out on this great book!
Book Description
For over a decade, this classic book has served as the resource for mothers and midwives committed to breastfeeding. Through thoughtfully written text and detailed illustration, the authors cover issues ranging from how to establish breastfeeding in the early days of a child's life to how to resolve problems that may arise during breastfeeding.
Customer Reviews:
Wonderful!.......2007-06-16
Very informative and beautifully illustrated, this is the best book on breastfeeding that I have seen. It is full of useful information on positioning and other basics. Shares the personal experiences of breastfeeding mothers, and has a great section for trouble shooting. Clearly explains the importance of both foremilk and hindmilk, and how to ensure your baby receives both.
AMAZING!!!!!!.......2007-03-06
This is by far the very BEST breastfeeding book I have ever read. It has TONS of actual pics of mommas breastfeeding their children and that is so helpful. Most breastfeeding books generally only have drawings of breastfeeding moms and babies, and while that is ok it is not always helpful. This book is so amazing. I was unsuccessful in nursing my first daughter, and I really think it was from lack of support and knowledge in what I was doing. This book is so informative, so helpful and full of encouragement. Its like your own personal support system in a book. I know I will be 100% successful breastfeeding my next little one. : )
A Must Have.......2006-11-11
I extremely enjoyed the book and would definitely recommend it to anyone planning on breastfeeding!
If you're going to breastfeed, and especially if you aren't planning on taking a short course in it at the hospital, I'd say this is a fine substitute. It basically covers nearly everything you need to know, from the physical aspect of how breastfeeding works, to how you properly do it, to common mistakes.
I, myself took the class my hosptial offered so a lot of this book was repetition for me. And, while the first few days I had a very hard time, after that it was smooth sailing. However, I did have some questions about things my baby was doing once in a while and was concerned, I thought maybe the book could help. Had I had this book at home already from day 1, I think I could have gotten more use out of it, since I was having latch-on issues (then). The book covered this in great detail, I don't think you could ask for a better book from that aspect- latch-on, how to know if baby has had enough, how to position yourself/baby etc. Anyway, the concerns I was having, and I'm sure a lot of moms have different issues once things are going well but then something pops up- the book didn't help me with. One main thing I think I would have liked more help with would be how what you're eating affects baby, and when your baby has bad gas problems. I know a lot of moms have problems with this, as well as fussy times, and we often wonder if it's something in our milk and what we can do about it...So while I feel the book is missing a few things and/or should have gone into greater detail about certain things; I'm still convinced this is one of the best books out there.
Overall, if you are going to breastfeed, get this book! It's awesome to have on hand, it also covers things like common myths and has some case studies of women who had different difficulties. The price for this book is so reasonable and I think what it gives you is priceless!
WAS having problems..........2006-05-31
I spoke with a lactation consultant at the hospital before I was released with my first daughter, and thought I had breastfeeding down pat. Boy was I wrong! I was really sore in no time and had a lot of frustration. I was hesitant to go to the consultant again for fear of being judged by such a "pro". I bought this book, took it's advice of having my husband compare what I was doing to the book and poof! my problem was recognized and solved! I would recommed this book to anyone who is having problems breastfeeding but really wants to continue to try it.
This book is the reason for my successful breastfeeding!.......2006-04-11
I failed to get my son to successfully latch and breastfeed 3 years ago because I really had no idea how to hold him and how to help him latch correctly. This book taught me how to do both and now I am successfully breastfeeding my daughter!!! This book has many excellent photos and tips for breastfeeding. My only complaint is that it doesn't address moms going back to work and/or pumping.

Great discography and brief bio.......2004-02-24
This is a very well written concise biography of Monk that is comprehensive enough to foster an understanding of his influences and the music and cultural scene in which he emerged. It is thoroughly researched and doesn't bog down in trivial detail the way many iconographic bios do. About one third of the book consists of a comprhensive discography which is notable for it's objectivity in reviewing all of Monk's recordings. This would be very helpful to anyone looking to begin or expand their Monk collection. The musicians that played with Monk in various sessions are all covered and the circumstances surrounding most of the recordings are adequately described.
All in all I think this is a wonderful reference for the jazz lover and a good overview of the life and work of one of the all-time great jazz musicians.
breezy read.......2003-05-14
Only about a third of this volume is alloted for Monk's life--which is not bad; the rest is about the various recordings he made.
You get enough to wet your appetite. Makes you want to look for something more indepth, etc. Worth buying, though, as it is written by a genuine fan of Monk and the whole jazz scene. I don't regret getting it.
Brief but Comprehensive.......2001-03-23
This book is really good...especially if you own or plan to collect Monks music. The first part gives a brief(100 pages)bio(more expanded in gourse's "straight no chaser")a decent overveiw. The second part explains more or less "the Monk sound"his style in understandable terms(terms are also explained.) The third part is the best...monk on disk(and vinyl) and all sessions and personnel(all confirmed) in chronological order.Very excellent if you are obsessed like i am about this kind of stuff. It covers all this extremely well with much commentary. In depth even. If you got Monk on record this is a great reference. The focus on the music is its strong point.

Forty vignettes drawn from individuals rescued.......2004-04-05
Holocaust Hero by historian and Holocaust authority David Kranzler is the true story of Solomon Schonfeld, a young British Rabbi of a small Orthodox congregation, and a pioneer of the day school movement in London, who rescued thousands of Jews from 1938 to 1948. An amazing and inherently fascinating biographical study of a dedicate man, Holocaust Hero focusing heavily on Schonfeld's rescue efforts, and also spotlights the community service he did to provide his "charges" with kosher homes, a Jewish education, and jobs. Forty vignettes drawn from individuals rescued by this truly great man add a special highlight to Holocaust Hero. No Holocaust, Judaic Studies, or 20th Century Biography collections can be considered comprehensive or complete without the inclusion of David Kranzler's Holocaust Hero.
