No matter what your ethnic background, we all as Americans have an obligation to our country. This obligation may lead you to become a doctor, teacher, or even a solider.To have this love and loyalty,you must have a sense of history. This book shows how we have lost touch with our history in the last fifty years.
It shows how we have lost sight of our moral responsibilities. There are many history books on the market but most do not connect history with real life events. Mr. Biesada shows history in a different light, in a way that everyone can understand and relate to. His unique writing style is very confortable and modern. The book in written to be straight forward but it is also very humorous. He helps you look at life throught his point of view. From love to politics he explains and examines our society. I have bought all my family members this book for Christmas and I would love to see it in our public schools.

Since the events of September 11, I believe that this book is a very timely wake up call for all citizens to re-examine their moral foundation. The characters in Mr. Biesada's book are patriots of the old school.No matter what bad deeds they may have done in life, they would put selfish interests aside and step up, when called upon to serve. Quite the contrast from todays young men, squirming now and protesting our presence in Afghanistan.
Mr. Biesada's creative style and salty humor is uniquely funny as he uses it as a vehicle to take us through the past fifty years of American history. Factual history, not what they teach in our schools.
His use of satire to describe a power hungry political system holds the readers interest and leaves no doubt in the readers mind that our failed policies have contributed to the attacks on American soil.
He makes you wonder;is our younger generation up for the task of securing our liberty?
This is an excellent book about the American Heritage. I'm going to buy another copy and send it to a friend!

Sorry LeadPedal2, but you are wrong, and I hope not too many people have been driven away from this wonderfully written, helpful, and complete book by your false statements.
This book DOES contain information on Proof and Uncirculated sets sold by the U.S. Mint, on pages 40-42.

I've been collecting both the Red and Blue books since 1993 as a nice compliment to my coin collection, and this edition maintains Yeoman and Whitman's high standards. I am very happy with this book, and highly recommend it to other coin collectors, beginners through those with much experience.

But where's the proof?.......2004-05-22

This book is good for what it includes, but there is a glaring and shocking omission! There is no info on proof sets, only on some individual coins. With the introduction of state quarter sets, annual proof sets have become a hot commodity, yet this book completely overlooks the entire category!

As a scrapbooker, I wanted to learn new ways to decorate my memory album pages. This book was just what I needed. It's very descriptive with great color photos. I would have never imagined all the things that could be made with one or two punches. For example this book shows how a heart punch can make a chicken, mouse, butterfly, flower, pumpkin & angel for your scrapbook. There are so many ideas in this one!! I'm looking forward to Volume 2 to get even more ideas.

This is the first book I bought on punch art, and I can see I need to buy more punches! While I really enjoy working with stickers and rubber stamps in my scrapbooks and other projects, punch art adds a dimension to these that is unique. I am not the most artistic of crafters, but this book inspires me to try some new techniques and layouts. Highly recommended!

I love this book and Punch Your Art Out, Volume I. Not only are the instructions easy to follow and the designs ones that can be used for various occassions and projects, but they are also inspirational. Looking through this book made me run and get my punches and paper and I punched my heart out. I also recommend Punch Happy by Tracey Isidiro if you love this! Great job from the creators of Memory Makers magazine, but then what else would you expect?

I have enjoyed paper crafts for some time now, but one thing I thought I would avoid is using punches. I thought that they may be complicated to work with or I didn't know how to get mroe out of them. This book is SUPER about showing all sorts of ways to decorate with punches. My favorite feature is "One Punch" pages, where a single punch is shown used several different ways. A must buy for paper crafters!

The book contains great information, beautiful and vibrant pictures, and examples which are exciting and easy to follow. This book is worth so much more than I paid for it. It is definitely a keeper. I just can't seem to stop picking it up and looking at it over and over!

Learned a lot about Warsaw ghetto.......2006-03-17

"On Both Sides of the Wall" is the story of Vladka Meed during World War 2 in Warsaw Poland. She provides an important perspective of what life was like both inside and outside the ghetto. Vladka was involved in the ghetto revolt and as a courier outside the ghetto. She was able to pass herself off as being non-Jewish. She helped to find hiding places for other Jews and kept in contact with those in hiding. Her story continues through to the Warsaw revolt - when the whole city was fighting against the German forces.

I have read dozens of WWII and holocaust books. I most enjoy those books, such as this, that are written from the perspective of the regular person (doing extraordinary things). I learned a lot from this book and recommend it highly.
