One evening many years later, flipping through the TV channels, Wayne was stopped instantly by something he saw on the "Merv Griffin Show". Filling the entire screen was the cover of a book entitled "The Reappearance of the Christ and the Masters of Wisdom". The moment he saw it, the memory of the Madonna's promise to him as a child rushed into his mind: "I am going to tell you a secret that few now know. If you stay with your family, you will see the Christ, because he will come to live with the people of the world."
Peterson's attention remained riveted on the set, as Merv and Gore Vidal carried on an intense discussion with the author of the book, Benjamin Creme. Enthralled, he read the book, and thus began his investigation of this startling but strangely familiar proposition. His search led him on an adventure that put him in situations he had never before encountered, and introduced him to spiritual realities he never knew existed.
Wayne Peterson was, at that time, a director of the Fulbright Scholarship Program, with the U.S. Information Agency. He had already served with the Peace Corps in Brazil for two years, and in the Foreign Service as a diplomat in various embassy positions in Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Africa. He traveled in circles inaccessible to most people, and had contacts at the highest levels of the White House, many foreign governments and the Vatican.
In this, his first book, Peterson tells the incredible story of how he first met Maitreya, the Christ, and the group of highly evolved spiritual beings who surround him and oversee the evolution of our planet. It follows his career in the political halls of power, where he met many other highly-placed people who have had similar experiences of Maitreya. All are aware that life as we know it is about to change dramatically for the better, and that they have a part to play in the transformation of our world when the time is right.

Let any man who understands know that this name "Maitreya" is the sum of 666. This being is none other that the Light Bearer-The Bright Morning Star-THE FALLEN ONE...LUCIFER. Woe unto the inhabitants of the earth, for the beast has come down to you as a Lion, seeking whomever he may devour--Revelations. There is only ONE Christ. He was the ONLY son of God Yehovah. Mr. Peterson's life story is an extraordinarily good read.......2005-12-29
Since reading this book in March 2005 after receiving it from a friend, I have encountered a hand full of people who have also read this book after obtaining it from their friends. Extraordinary Times, Extraordinary Beings is the kind of book that finds its readers inevitably, fortuitously. Usually, the friend will say that it simply must be read, that it is just perfect, in some unexplained, indescribable way, for the intended recipient. For most of these people, this book is their introduction to the world of the Masters of Wisdom.
And what a world it is. Mr. Peterson's thrilling story unfolds from practically his first remembrance to encompass his diplomatic career, his abrupt retirement therefrom as well as this moment and beyond. It is reassuring to have this subject matter grounded in Mr. Peterson's life, which on the surface seems fairly ordinary but on an unseen level is anything but.
It is also reassuring that Mr. Peterson relates his story with warm humor and straightforward courage. His description of a flight to Lima, Peru is simultaneously hilarious and hair-raising. The reader finds himself continuously countering the suspense with the knowledge that of course the author will live to tell the tale. By the time Mr. Peterson relates his cross-country, midwinter journey to Las Vegas which occurred thirty years later, the reader is quite ready to take it all as a matter of course. Reading Extraordinary Times, Extraordinary Beings has that effect: it acclimates the reader to extraordinary things embedded in the seemingly ordinary.

Fabulous book. Honest, direct, based on personal experience rather than theoretical. Seriously deep subject dealt with in a straightforward & light-hearted way. A shocker to most conventional thinking, but joyful to the open-minded.
Extraordinary Times Extraordinary Beings by Wayne Petersen.......2005-04-14
I have read literally hundreds of spiritual books over my fifty plus years of life. Many years ago I had read about the appearance of the Maitreya through the writer/spiritual leader, Benjamin Creme. I have long since forgotten all the wonderful books I had read about this amazing Master (Maitreya) and all his helpers (the Masters of Wisdom) in spirit and in bodies. Peterson's magical tale brought back this earliest part of my spiritual book-reading and training and I shall be ever grateful for this. This book is an exciting, well-written, can't-put-it-down story of a truly extraodinary spiritual journey of a man who was somewhat reluctant to be on such a path, but ends up growing incredibly because of it. As his story builds, the miracles get better and better - and the lessons for him, deeper each time.
This is something that is a potential for everyone interested in their spiritual growth - so I know this book will light a spark in the souls of many.
The other thing that was exciting to me is that Peterson even knows some of the same people I do - that is, people mentioned in his book - making his story all the more real for me personally. I loved the many miracle stories he shares in this book. The one where the Masters were teaching him to never play spiritual "prove it" is a tough lesson of the ego that EVERY person who embarks on a spritual path has to learn - and it is indeed a humbling lesson.
If you are the least bit interested in the coming of the Christ for this present new age or updating yourself on the information of the Spiritual Hierarchy (as written about by Alice Baily, Ledbedder and others from earlier this century and last century) at work on this planet, this book is a must read. You won't be disappointed!
I wish Mr. Petersen the best on his path and look forward to the time when our paths will cross...and they will...

Decent, but rather uneven coverage for an intro text........2005-06-23
One benefit of this book is that it contains articles, commentary, and discussion questions all in one text. It also covers a wide variety of issues, which is good since business ethics is a vast subject. On the negative side, I don't think the organization of the sections is the most effective way to approach the topic. The sections are organized based on a 1991 survey of CEOs in which the participants ranked their most important types of ethical dilemmas. As a result, there isn't the logical flow or progression of ideas from chapter to chapter that one might expect from a philosophy book. Unfortunately, the pragmatic interests of CEOs are not the same as the educational needs of students who are new to business ethics. There is also no discussion of ethical theories and no direct interaction between the articles. On the whole, this book may be beneficial if used in conjunction with a survey of ethical theories and ethical decision-making, but taken by itself it makes for a rather uneven introduction to business ethics.

Even though Kathryn Kay was mentioned as a former Vogue Doll employee, her doll "Ginger" by the Cosmopolitan Doll & Toy Corp. was not illustrated and with absolutely NO information. This book is otherwise recommended for Vogue dolls only.

This is an exceptional book for people who love the Vogue dolls! Illustrations and text cover both composition, hard plastic and vinyl dolls. The illustrations are many and identify hundreds of various costumes sold for the Vogue dolls. The Ginny, Jill, Jeff and Ginnette sections are especially helpful. Collectors who have costumes or dolls with missing pieces can use the book as a reference to complete outfits. If a collector likes 1950s Ginny dolls, this book offers a wealth of information and is known to collectors across the country as the "Bible" for Vogue collectors.

Especially love the 'Herstory' section where there are plenty of vintage photos showing the factory sewers and samples, Promotional events, and store displays! WONDERFUL BOOK FOR THE VOGUE GINNY COLLECTOR.......2002-03-09
This Book is great and is written so the reader can find about everything that is necessary to start a Vogue Doll collection!!! There are a couple important things I want to mention to eveyone about this book that are very helpful..The way the dolls are put in YEAR ORDER and when a doll is not pictured in this book the Authors make sure it is mentioned with the NAME OF THE DOLL and in detail what she should be wearing for that year, No doll is left out. PHOTO'S ARE GREAT!!
This Vogue book is a must for the Vogue doll collector with a wealth of information. I learned so much with this book and could not be without it! It has all you need to help you in your quest for Vogue doll collecting.

I have needed this book for years as a longtime Vogue doll collector. Thank you to Ms Izen and Ms Stover for putting all the info in one place! We collectors owe it to these ladies for making collecting easy for us! It is a hefty book; almost too heavy to carry around to shows, but I admit, I do keep it in my car for reference. The color photos are beautiful, there is so much information for collectors about each and every doll and all the accessories. There are prices for everything pictured, with descriptions on all. I just don't know how I lived without this book!

This book offers a number of ways adults can interact with children to improve everyone's sanity. The anecdotes are engaging, the ideas intriguing. Also, this book is very well written.
I don't think anyone yet has written a book that covers satisfactory discipline for ALL children, but this will definitely help with MOST of them!
a different approach than many current popular theories.......1999-01-04
Ms Mitchell presents a four step plan for the adult to use as they address a situation, a way of thinking and acting before approaching the child and during the interaction. These mandates are ANTICIPATE, HESITATE, INVESTIGATE and COMMUNICATE. Ms Mitchell explains these clearly and concisely. She uses many anecdotes and examples to explain her theories and to suggest alternative parental responses. Through the examples, she encourages the adult to think about their own initial "gut" reaction and how using her format, one might come up with a different, more effective response to the child. She also gives a comment at the end of each case to summarize the issue. She gives some very good concrete suggestions which are helpful and insightful. Ms Mitchell helps parents understand how their words and behaviors are received by the child, how it sounds to them and how it feels, both at the time it occurs as well as the cumulative effect. My only criticism is that there may be too many anecdotes. Often they flow one right after the other and the summary is brief, without more than one reframing of the situation. Overall, I felt she covered a large array of issues and situations and was consistent in her approach to each situation, keeping true to her mandates.

Let's face it. The story of the meteoric rise of Oasis and the sibbling drama surrounding the brothers Gallagher is both complicated and simple. Complicated, because how do you sift throught the tabloid haze, the drug hysteria, the fights, the break-ups and make-ups and make sense of it all? Simple, because this is what happens when the right band comes along with the perfect songs and the charasmatic force to make people desperately intrigued... yeah, it's a big explosion. This book follows just that logic and takes you along for the perfect ride through the Oasis universe. A little humour and a crisp narrative help as well. The hilarious photo captions are a bonus. Be here now...

A real laugh and look at the absurdity of pop star life as only the Brits can do it. Documents the rise and rise of the the Gallagher boys and their infamous antics. Nice "behind the scenes" and tales of the mono-brow brothers' very entertaining bickering. One of my favorite authors. If you don't know his book "Generation Eccch" yet, read it for more sharp-witted criticism of pop icons of the '90s.

If you really wanna find out HOW Oasis became so big, this is the book for you. It tells it all, from the Gallagher's impressions on America, the world, and everything, to personal experiences. Provides a good laugh and is a great eye-opening-mouth-exploding-drooling experience. Only for devoted Oasis fans.

If you are a fan of the English rock band, Oasis, this is a MUST! This book gives you very rare information and is rather humorous at the same time. I actually laughed out loud more than once! The downside is, there are not many pictures along with it and it is a bit shorter than I would like. But...the few pictures that ARE in there are very Oasisesque. They bring out the band's real personality. If Liam and Noel have sparked a flame in you heart, or gotten you constantly humming "Wonderwall", you MUST check this book out

An absolute essential for any thinking Jewish person........1999-05-10
This wonderful book is a must-read for any person thinking about conversion, or in fact, any Jewish person who wants to delve more deeply into their Jewish life and motives.
So many "born Jews" take their faith and what is asked of them by G-d so lightly. Mrs. Zakar is a role model for all of us. The learning, the doing, the quest that fills this book should be an inspiration to any Jewish person. It motivated me to think about what has been given to us by G-d and how He has asked us to connect to him. It is arrogant to say, "Well, here's how I feel comfortable connecting and thinking about G-d. As long as I'm good that's all that matters." Mrs. Zakar delves into why this kind of thinking isn't enough for the Jewish people. She points to the fact that the Torah has already set up the "how" of being "good people" and the specific ways in which G-d wants us to become closer to Him.
Dr. David Kaufmann helped her with the "why's." What a revelation this man is. To so selflessly assist this soon-to-be Jewish person in all her thinking processes. To so patiently answer her questions and always redirect her thoughts to give her the most confidence. What an act of Ahavat Yisroel (loving your fellow Jew) to be such a support to someone. A source of knowledge and comfort. Dr. Kaufmann certainly is a shining example of what a Lubavitcher can be.
The reading just flowed along, as if we were taken on a journey. With Mrs. Zakar at the lead and Dr. Kaufman driving the team we just knew the trip would all lead to a good place. This book is also an example of all the good and worth that can come from the Internet. After finishing the book I felt so privileged to have been "let in on" this wonderful, inspiring, and life-changing correspondence
A definite must read for anyone, any age, any religion!.......1998-10-01
This was a truly amazing book as it describes a woman's struggle to find a true religion and faith. As she tells her story, her co-author interjects with diffirent insights and stories. It was a truly inspirational book of a difficult but satisfying journey of one soul bringing three others with it. A soul with wings.
